  • Astronomical Location Name: The Scintilla
  • Classification: Space Construct, built of many different spherical-shaped space stations connected via large tunnels.
  • Location: Unknown Regions
  • Rotational Period: n/a
  • Orbital Period: n/a
  • Size: Massive. New spheres are constantly being added to the Scintilla. At present, it is the size of a moon or small planet.
  • Affiliation: Agents of Chaos
  • Population: The spherical space stations that make up the Scintilla range from completely Uninhabited to Crowded, averaging out at Moderate for the entire construct.
  • Demographics: Most of the inhabitants on the Scintilla are human or near-human. The ones that are not can be found in two main spots, which is Eve, the capital sphere and a cultural melting pot, and HOPE, the refugee sphere, where any and all are welcome in times of need.
  • Accessibility: Where once upon a time the location of the Scintilla was hidden, and the Agents of Chaos enjoyed their anonymity while still hiding in the Unknown Regions, the current coordinates are broadcasted live and anyone with a holonetwork connection can easily find them. Word of mouth also travels fast. Until the Scintilla has any reason to move, it can easily be found by anyone. Additionally, with the Agents of Chaos' recent win in Kuat and Alderaan, their location has become even more accessible to your average Core-living Joe.
  • Description: At a glance, the Scintilla is a lovely mess. The space construct is built of numerous sphere-shaped space station varying in sizes, the smallest of which being as tiny as 200 meters in diameter and the largest one being 70 kilometers in size. The spheres are connected through a network of tunnels also of varying sizes, some of which large enough to pass through with small to medium sized ships, whereas others can only be ridden through on personal and small vehicles. Automatic pod shooting between spheres also exists (submission to be made later, this is purely for transport purposes). Nearly every sphere is in a different color, giving off the impression of a very close cluster of stars. Because of the way the Scintilla is constructed, it is always open to receiving additional spheres added to it, and new spheres are added constantly. At present, the size of the construct is similar to that of a small moon or tiny planet.

Eve

Click to see Eve's submission. Eve has been dubbed by the citizens of the Scintilla has the Jewel of the Unknown Regions. The city is the entire contents of a large spherical shaped space station, whose insides have been designed and programmed to mimic planetary life in almost every possible way. Eve is a hub of cultures, species, work places, leisure, and lakes. Yes, the large sphere, which runs a diameter of 79 kilometers, incorporates urban life as well as natural life, and those who wish to see the beautiful lakes of Eve as they appear below the ground may do so too. Additionally, Eve sports many different sectors and neighborhoods, easily competing with planets that sport small populations a run for their money.
More than anything though, Eve is a great place for just meeting people. It attracts not only the Agents of Chaos and the citizens of the Scintilla themselves, but many tourists as well as people looking for work (whether of the merc type of the 9 to 5 type), which in turn ensures that it is constantly under the culinary effects of many different parts of the galaxy all at once.
On at least one occasion, Eve had been the main target of the Empire of Rannon, who are one of the long term enemies of the Agents of Chaos. The Empire of Rannon had managed to sneak in bit by bit into the city (and a few other parts of the Scintilla) and attack several weeks later, when enough of their forces had been gathered. The battle was brutal, and the city suffered great injury as a result of that assault, but was able to rebuild quickly in the weeks that followed.
Where one would have expected this to somehow lower the speed of refugees and interested people pouring into the Scintilla, one would be terribly wrong – it was the opposite effect that took place, and both HOPE and the various cities around the space construct instead saw an influx of newcomers.

Maymgnosis
Maymgnosis is currently WIP. Maymgnosis is one of the research spheres that can be found in the Scintilla. The entire sphere has been completely filled with salt water save for a small pocket at what was randomly decided to be "the top" of the sphere (there's no up and down in space). Inside the water, aquatic creatures from across the galaxy can be found, some of them in small groups, but a few singular ones as well. Several more species, among them a few versions of Sithspawn in the making, can be found there as well. The purpose of the Maymgnosis, is to provide a research center for aquatic animal studies. The actual school, which is situated inside the 1km between the water and the sphere's edge (something that is part of the design of every sphere of the Scintilla though the exact "crust" width depends on the overall size of the sphere in question), is the first attempt at an Academy on the Scintilla, but it still a year or two away from receiving proper acknowledgment from the institutions that matter across the 'verse.

HOPE
Click here to see HOPE. Home Operational Planet Escape, called HOPE for short, is the Agents' of Chaos' refugee sphere. Split on the inside onto five discs rather than one, each disc offers something else to the refugees who are welcome to live there as they make their escape into safety, but only provided they study or work while there, for no meals are free. HOPE is one of the strongest propaganda tools that Agents of Chaos have, as it houses millions, with older people being mostly from the Unknown Regions, but many that came after the battle of Kuat and Alderaan come from all parts of the 'verse.

Personal Home Spheres
The personal home spheres of Agents of Chaos members as well as Scintillian residents (or people with enough money who want a vacation sphere of their own) are not a specific location, but rather a mass of them. When the spheres employed for such cases can range in diameter from anywhere between 50 meters to 3 kilometers, many have found it easy to apply their personal touch and creativity to design something of their own. Unlike many construction projects around the space construct, financial aid is not offered for personal spheres, and there are costly mandatory fees that cover the involvement of Scintillan engineers to ensure the construct does not become damaged in the process. The personal home spheres are also scattered across the entire construct. While it is true that many seem to flock relatively closely to Eve, you can find them almost everywhere, from the very depths of the Scintilla, and right towards the external protective military spheres whose job it is to protect.

The Spheres of Defense
Many of the defensive spheres (military ones) are on the external layer of the Scintilla, making sure to be able to guard potential threats. Those that are not there, are carefully sewn into other parts of the space construct, to ensure internal safety or as much damage reduction as possible in the event that the military spheres fall.
Each military sphere projects part of the overall shielding of the construct (akin to a scale), so that in the event that one shield is pierced, it's not the entire space construct's defenses that go down.
Temporarily, we shall be placing the following canon means of defenses and armament, which will be placeholders until the writer of this submission finishes the military spheres project.
More to come.

The Scintilla is currently situated in a relatively empty part of the galaxy. The original location, initially chosen exactly for that and to make it hard to find, currently broadcasts where it is openly, and shines like a beacon in the Unknown Regions, beckoning many to come and join.

It began long before Discordia, the head of Agents of Chaos, met the Firsts, the first group of people that joined the organization, and have played a strong hand in making it become what it currently is.

Well. Perhaps not so long. Almost two years. The notion of having a space station as your headquarters is hardly anything unique or grand, but a small sale, something that had been so unremarkable at a glance that most people spent less than two seconds before moving on to the next item on the holobay, was made. The sale were blueprints. Blueprints for a station that was shaped as a ball, or a sphere.

And thus, the first sphere was made. It was big, and it was beautiful, but it was empty. More spheres around it soon followed, along with ways to connect them all together.

By the time the meeting of Discordia and the Firsts happened, the core of the Scintilla had already been built. Upon the joining of the Firsts, and Agents of Chaos officially forming, many parts of the Scintilla began to take shape. The Firsts and their trusted people rushed forward, and many different parts of the construct clearly have the marking and effects of their touch on them.

Over time, more and more spheres were added to the construct. As millions of people moved there, originating first mostly from the Unknown Regions but later from many parts of the galaxy, the speed at which construction was happening was nearly mind-blowing. Tens of thousands of engineers continue to work diligently on the expansion and ensuring the construct remains stable and safe, and as of an official engineering training program opened on Eve some months ago, hiring these engineers whenever adding a sphere or a tunnel is absolutely mandatory, and incredibly expensive.

Today, the Scintilla is nearly the size of a moon or small planet, with a gigantic number of spheres attached to it, and growing bigger by the day.
