Dice Roll Log entries: 20-24

Frustration filled the Admiral as his magnificent fire vanished before the power of the alien creations. It seemed the Vong had learned a thing or two since their previous battle, just as the Republic had. Still, there was little reason to panic, he had his own contingency for just such a situation.

“Activate the GAMhttp://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Gravitic_Amplitude_Modulator and use it to disrupt their coordination. Then, concentrate fire on two of their cruisers!”
The Gravitic Amplitude Modulator had worked well at Manaan, and here he hoped it would do so again. Its ability to disrupt the Yammosk coordination which had made the Dovin Basal trick work was critical. Crucially this would affect not just the cruisers, but the oncoming hordes of fighters too.
With this done, the Righteous opened fire on a new Vong cruiser, the one behind the Yralf on the rear right of the Sith formation. Meanwhile the Destiny and Oblige would continue to fire on the Yralf now that its Dovin Basal shields would be lessened by 3/4 at least.

However, before the Admiral could give further orders, a sudden feeling swept over him and all the crew at once. A voice, crying out in fear and anguish!
Stahlmann wondered for a second if he was going mad, but then saw others were reacting as well.
It was fortunate in some ways, for the Sith plans had miscarried somewhat. There were no Jedi this time in the Republic fleet, none who knew Kiskla Greyson. Even the Admiral had only met her occasionally at briefings, and then never to talk. To the ordinary crewers and officers of the Republic fleet the Jedi and especially the Grandmaster were distant figures. Even if they had heard her voice before on the holonet, it would not be recognisable like those of family or friends. For the Sith to suppose she was a messianic saviour too was somewhat wayward of the truth. The Jedi were respected, well regarded, but recent events, the splintering of the Order and high profile defections had dimmed their star. Combined with their seeming inability to stop the Sith, the ordinary crewman, who had never seen a Jedi, let alone talked with one, had little connection to them.
Having said that, phantom voices were pretty disturbing! The Admiral looked at the Immortal, and shook his head. The Sith would not bring so important a prisoner to a battle to be in the firing line. They were smarter than that.
“It is Sith trickery,” the Admiral stated as calmly as he could. “Remain at your posts, we will not turn aside. Give me hail on the fleet.”

This done, he took up the communicator. “Soldiers of the Republic, stand to your arms. Do not allow this Sith trick to daunt you. Stick to your task, it is your only hope of surviving this. We will be victorious…but only if we stand firm!”

Again, just as he was about to give new orders an alarmed cry came up. “Sir, we have enemy ships in sector 7!”
The Admiral whirled. That was behind his left flank! That would be very bad. “Report!”
“Vong ships, sir, six squadrons!”
“Where did they come from? Scramble fighters, open with flak!”
He watched as the enemy ships swooped in on the Valiant. Quad lasers, flak cannons and fighter lasers blasted through the vacuum.
“We’re being overwhelmed!” a desperate voice came through.
It was then that the Admiral, moving to the sensor screen, noticed something. Enemy ships were vanishing, but none of theirs…except one which had avoided colliding with an enemy unfortunately by impacting the Valiant.
“Assess enemy losses.”
There was silence. “We’ve scored a hit and…it vanished, sir,” the same voice from before answered.
That was it…the reason they could appear from such an impossible sector…more tricks.
“They are Sith illusions, just like the voices. Ignore them, as hard as it might be.”

As he finally returned to the command platform, the enemy was making their move.
“Sir, six squadrons of enemy bombers heading for the Oblige. Mass of fighters headed to engage our screen.”
“Order this ship’s attack craft to assist the Oblige, and bring the Dart in to provide flak assistance. Bring all other fighters and interceptors back so they can be covered by the Destiny, the Javelin and the Torrent. “
That at least would add some weight to make the numbers equal. With the GAM jamming the Yammosk coordination the Vong and Republic fighters would be equal in numbers and power.

With all this underway, the Republic fleet continued to move around the right flank of the Sith fleet, moving to get behind them. Next time the Destiny would switch targets as the Yralf would be out of firing arc.

SUMMARY:
  • OS battle meditation faltered this time due to poor choice of target.
  • Sith illusions disturbing, but at that moment ineffective due to the fact they could be observed as fake.
  • GAM deployed to block Yammosk coordination, fire split between Yralf and the next one in the bottom right of the Sith fleet. Righteous targets the new ship, Destiny and Oblige targets the Yralf.
  • Righteous suffers no damage from Vong cruisers due to size difference. (Rolls 20-23)(Mislabelled by me on the dice roller, but the modifiers were the same.)
  • Oblige takes 29 shield damage from Immortal’s proton cannon. Rest of Immortal’s weapons had not been specified as fired. (Roll 24)
  • 2 squadrons of fighters, 3 of interceptors along with Dart flak frigate moving to oppose OS bombers.
  • 17 squadrons fighters, 5 of interceptors pulled back to oppose OS fighters. Javelin flak frigate and Torrent support corvette moved in to assist.

The sirens continued to blare loudly as Gabriel approached a vendor, index finger pointed upwards on a left hand. He smiled as he was handed a stick of vermin, deep fried and smelling delicious. Pulling a meaty chunk from the skewer, he sheathed the dagger and walked towards the viewing screen, out towards the landing area. In the distance, he spotted the Vong of the organic guard, circling the interior of the particle shield. Looking down at the wrist band, the shield integrity read at a fluctuating 100%. Despite his lack of constant consternation, it was obvious that systems hadn't been impacted just yet. That was good. It would be quite a disappointment for the invaders when they flew into the relatively translucent dome and crashed across it's surfaces, the properties far different then the under lapping ray shield beneath. Geothermal pumps fed energy back into the generators, deep under ground, to maintain the heavy burden of energy required.

Anti-aircraft turrets, studded around the outside of the facility, fired their dual cannon in synchronized blasts towards the sky. Anything even remotely resembling aircraft would soon find themselves appropriately fired upon. Still in their limp positions, anti-personnel turrets remained at rest. Long range scanners would kick on for auto-turreted defenses, should the need arise. But truth be told, none of that concerned Gabriel. What concerned him, however, was the serious lack of salt in the skewered meat.

  • Republic Marines (30,000: Main invasion) Orders: 3 Battalions combating Sith-Vong at Breeding Grounds. Heavy casualties.
  • Skocha-class MBTs (300: Main invasion) Orders: Firing at Sith-Vong army at Breeding Grounds.
  • R-10 Reliant-class Tanks (500: Main invasion) Orders: Defending Skochas.
  • Reinforcements standing by.
Their ambush was expected. Captain Finch had been forced to send those poor infantrymen into the Breeding Grounds without mercy. Those young men died in swathes as the opening barrages cut them down. However, they were trained soldiers and only panicked for nearly a second before the units began their operations. Machine gunner teams erected hasty defenses in the ledges and turned Sithspawn into puddles of blood and gore, flamethrower teams fought fire with fire and turned tunnels into nothing but pits of hell.

One could find the average rifleman elbow-deep in the mess, vibrobayoneting Sithspawn and Yuuzhan Vong alike. Their bullets tore flesh asunder. Their teeth were clenched and every single one of them was ready to fight to the death. Grenade blasts erupted here and there as Republic soldiers turned themselves into martyrs in their final moments. NonComs and Officers led charges, withdrew, and almost always suffered many more casualties than they dished out. It was complete and total annihilation.

That is, until the command of Broken Arrow arose through the ranks. The cavalry was on its way - they just had to hold out until then.

Three battalions of men, nearly two thousand soldiers, were ready to die on this rock of a planet. Their brothers just a kilometer away at the Forward Operating Base heard the reports and were raving to assist.

"Captain Finch, your orders?"

He turned to face that familiar operations officer once more. "Turn those Skochas towards the Breeding Grounds. Rain hell on them. I want machine gun and anti-tank positions along that ridgeline facing the the same direction. Infantry and armor, stand fast for orders."

Word had arrived from the ground that there were some huge targets to be had at where the Citadel was, and Sressechka and her accompanying wingmates immediately veered out of their silent encirclement over the spaceport district. Everything was peaceful up here. "It's like I was never at war," she whispered to herself, gazing out at the hazy stars and below at the surface--unobservable to the naked eye. It was a breathtaking view that only pilots could appreciate, and this was why Sressechka had taken wings. The sky was her ocean--placid and limitless, with not a bird nor a bolt to bother her at this elevation.

Being at an extraordinary height and unhindered by the winds, the HEPF-1 wing made quick course over the target area. Now all she needed was a mark and a go-ahead signal. But, until then, all was well with the galaxy from her seat in the cockpit.

"Visual contact established. Marking target with my heads up display. Standby for coordinates FLEETOPS."

Book sat on a rocky outcropping about a klick out from the citadel. The Sith were too busy dealing with Master Graendal's soldiers to notice a lone man whose armor happened to blend in perfectly with the surroundings. The Republic fleet had ships in the air, and there was no point in letting them go to waste.

Overhead, four drop ships carrying munitions soared in from a break in the action. A small fighter escort kept them protected, but they would need to land very soon in order to do their job.

"All Republic assets near the Citadel, I repeat, all assets near the citadel, evacuate immediately." He transmitted to all Republic channels.

The target marker on his HUD it up bright red as the coordinates locked in.

"FLEETOPS, this is DG-Zero-Eight. Coordinates confirmed. Requesting a torch and burn. Walls looks thick, suggest a bunker buster. We need that structure leveled."

Little did Book know that he targeted the Sithspawn breeding grounds. Not that it much mattered, the damage would be all the same.

"Perfect place to establish an FOB." Stanley mumbled.

"Agreed, Master Graendal, Master Raaf, please remove your people from the vicinity. That citadel is about to get very, very hot."

"Republic shuttles incoming Ma'am"

With a quiet nod the Baroness motioned, her body language all that was needed these days to give the Colonel a command. It came with the territory, the man had been with the Baroness long enough to understand her with a simple glance. Pressing his hand to his head he gave the order, the one that he knew was within the Baroness' mind.

"Fire into the shuttle's flight path. Do not focus on where they are, focus upon where they will be."

It was a simple tactic that any soldier would learn, and one that was just as important in any setting, even when the force in question was the heavy blaster cannons of the Fen'Harel. The crews quickly retrained their weapons, the double barrels leveling into the path that the Shuttles were taking. Once more the ground beneath the Baroness' feet shook before the loud discharge was heard, the heavy guns on the One Sith's shiny new weapons were being put to the test. Constantly firing, targeting and once more unleashing a barrage of hell into their enemies. The command was clear and simple when the Baroness had brought the guns to bear; they were to defend the starport from air strikes. There were more than enough of the One Sith forces to see to any of the ground forces that would land.

For now the Baroness kept her eyes up towards the heavens, watching as shuttles and fighters that strayed too close to the starport were fired upon. The heavy anti-vehicle blaster cannons of the Fen'Harel were proving their own, even for such a cheaply constructed vehicle. A small grin grew upon the Baroness face, making sure that the data and their actions were recorded. Even if the One Sith didn't purchase more and merely kept her gifts, she could still prove their worth on the open market when they were taken to other worlds.

"War is business, and business is booming."

The Baroness spoke softly, her small grin turning to a wicked smile as those Golden-Yellow eyes pierced the heavens.

The Dark Blade lay in wait behind the celestial body, waiting for its moment to pounce upon its defenseless prey.
But what concerned him the most for now was what he was given. Not the ship, for the ship was superior to almost anything that he had ever used before, but it was the crew he was given. It was not HIS crew in any shape or form. These were men and women that he was not familiar with, ones that he did not condition and train himself. He would be staking his life in the hands of these pieces of Gulandi pipe-rat dung. The layout was roughly similar, but with much more tactical information being displayed to him, a great improvement to what he normally worked with.

His sith allies- and Republican enemies- impressed him by surpassing his expectations by all accounts. Their tact and guile in mid-combat was something that he could only hope to achieve if he himself could employ their magics. Even the one commanding the ship near him could employ these arcane arts. If this tool was used so efficiently by those he was fighting for, then why did the enemy not use it as well? Why did they not use the power at their own fingertips?

She skidded to a stop when she heard ‘Iron Maiden’ called over the din of the rushing crowd, interesting in itself. When had she started responding to that moniker? Ah well, there were worse things to be called and it wasn’t as if it weren’t true. “I should have expected to see you here,” she said once she reached the Firrerreo, citing how they always seemed to end up in the same place on the battlefield one way or the other. Not that she was complaining.

And then another familiar voice cropped up. She hadn’t been spending as much time with her apprentice now that she was…well, no longer an apprentice. Somehow Matsu couldn’t get herself too worked up about the imminent invasion – Prakith was well-defended and though it was foolish to rely on that alone, the sheer number of Sith that seemed to be planet-side that day supplemented their safety net nicely. “I have little information, but from what I saw of the fleet descending towards the planet it would seem so.”

As Venefica turned to speak with Vrag Matsu looked to her right, intending to get a lay of the land as more came in to the main bay to try and settle what was happening.

But instead she heard him calling.
It seemed there was going to be a veritable party in this spaceport.

Her eyes narrowed, expression folding in to something less humorous as she studied the ever-present trail of smoke curling from the rolled paper in his mouth. She crossed the short distance between the two of them – ignoring his use of Iron Maiden, that would spread like wildfire it seemed – and stopping in front of him only to pluck his cigarette from between his lips and flick it away, squashed in sparks under somebody sprinting by. “Funny, I thought if I ever saw you again you might say sorry or something first. ‘Hey Matsu, I feel really badly about sticking you with that half-crazed fox thing. That was a really karked move, how can I make it up to you?’” She could still remember leaving that filthy excuse for an eatery in the Coruscant underbelly with rambling blue creature in tow only to realize the man with the broken-fanged grin had skipped out on her – a girl stood up!

Honestly though? She wasn’t mad – who could blame him? She certainly hadn’t wanted to deal with that thing either. In the end she’d thrown it’s 'shiny' to see if it would fetch and thankfully it did, leaving her to spirit off just like him. Regardless, this wasn’t the time or place to aire past fake grievances. She softened the quip with a small, rueful smile. “Now, let’s see if you can fight without dipping out on me a quarter of the way through. Unless you’re just here to tease me.”

At the moment she wasn’t in any hurry, already in a good position to wait for the incoming ‘guests’. Everything was still quiet save for the thinning crowds as anyone non-essential got out while the getting was good.

Her grin grew wider as the small woman maneuvered her way towards her, mischief twinkling in her eyes. Oh, there was so much fun to be had, so many invaders to slay. Where to begin? It would be double the entertainment with the Sith Lord beside her, for Iron Maiden had a way with slaughter that bordered on art. Poetry, perhaps? Scratch that; music. The wails of agony the sorceress left in her wake would need some more training, granted, but another few invasions or so, and her little choir of suffering would be ready to take on the best in the Galaxy.

"I like murder, you like murder… it's a match made in haven, darling," she quipped at the smaller woman, quite delighted at the prospect of joining forces again. It occurred to her that she'd taken countless lives alongside her, yet still remained ignorant of the human's name. Oh, well. There were worse things than killing together without proper introductions.

"Hell hole?" the Knight responded, only moderately surprised to encounter Darth Venefica as well. "I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds this place boring then. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm happy to see those Republic schuttas for once," her tone was lighthearted despite the topic of discussion, and her ice blue eyes flickered to the skies only just visible beyond the edge of the hangar. When would they arrive?

"That's my respectful, if slightly derisive nickname," she turned around and shot at the newcomer, but her voice lacked any true edge. "Go find your own," the firrerreo added with a small smile tugging at her lips. The exchange that followed between him and Iron Maiden was an amusing one to watch, but she imagined it was slightly less so from where the man was standing. The Sith Lord lacked in stature, true, but the illusion of safety was dispelled as soon as you saw her in battle.

"As cute as this reunion is," Vrag interjected, clearing her throat to get the couple's attention, "I believe I'll be off to join Reverance and his army of pissed Vong." There was no missing the angry clicking of the monsters, and the Knight had spent enough time in their company by now to be able to discern a few emotions from the inflections. The fact that the warriors rarely — if ever — waded out of the annoyance–ire spectrum made the whole thing a lot easier, of course.

Her gaze briefly flickered to her favorite mass murderer, and she offered a half-joking hand to the tiny beast.

"I promise you can ride on my shoulders if the crowd is too much for you."

She was pushing it. Oh, she was so pushing it. There was nothing better than a little humor to alleviate the stress of battle, though.

Well Camellia supposed she got what she asked for. Now the Sith's Immortal Dreadnought turned its gaze on the Noblesse this time as its proton beam cannon charged once more and then fired on the heavy destroyer. This time there was no call for the crew to brace for impact, the angle of the Republic's fleet approaching left the Rendili woman and the officer at the sensor station believing the target to once again be the Righteous. thusly The ship felt a rumble very similar to when the main railgun fired. The energy absorbed the damage, but all the same Camellia didn't feel as appreciative of the Sith's sudden attention to her vessel as she had initially thought.

That weapon was tremendously powerful to take out the chunk from their shields that it had. The effect left her wondering if the hull would survive a direct hit even with the anti-concussion field generator on? The device after all was intended to make the Noblesse the counter to the Sith's Darkblade destroyers, which had been the most powerful vessels in the One Sith's navy at the time of the Noblesse's development. The Immortal had made its debut at Manaan, revealing its abilities to the Republic just at the time the Noblesse entered into production. Seeing it in action against her precious ship now. . . . .the Rendili woman wasn't quite sure what would counteract the effect of the Proton Beam Cannon. Perhaps a molecular shield generator in place of the average one would do the trick? It did convert energy from turbolaser blasts into extra power for the shields themselves. The Proton Beam Cannon would hopefully just have the same effect. Or maybe something that worked like the Vong dovin basin's which created miniature black holes. . . . like the ones that had annoying swallowed a bit of the last salvo and were now getting a healthy dose of the Remembrance's GAM unit to take that factor out of commission.

An idea to work towards on the next warship perhaps?

However, that was something that would have to be worried about later. There were other things on Camellia's mind at the moment, or rather there was someone apparently in her mind filling it with words. An unfamiliar voice claiming to be the Jedi's Grandmaster calling to them from the Immortal Dreadnought just ahead of them. Would the Sith really have the Jedi's Grandmaster on board that thing? She had gone missing during the battle on Manaan, and Prakith was certainly an important world to the Sith, a fortress for them one could say, so maybe they would bring the Jedi Leader there. . . . .but why was she calling out to them like this if she was?

Having never met the woman personally, Camellia had no idea what she was like and wasn't sure what to do about the possible situation. Because it seemed like everyone else had heard it too. While it was certainly true no one in the Republic Navy had any real connection to the Grandmaster, they could acknowledge she was likely important. The Admiral wasn't going to have any of it though. As Stahlmann called the voice Sith trickery, which it could very well be considering the type the Sith were to pull such tactics, and ordered the fleet into new attack patterns, Camellia moved to continue the assault. "Prepare the main cannon again. Target their cruiser again!"

In all honesty this worked in their favor. They weren't attacking the Sith's flagship just yet anyway, so the fleet could very likely feel empowered by the voice that called out to them. To defeat the remaining Sith vessels just as the Admiral's strategy intended to do anyway, leaving the Immortal last. And with it all alone perhaps they could disable it and check to see if the Sith truly were keeping the Grandmaster aboard. If they did and things went poorly the Sith would certainly make use of her as a hostage for all to see, but this was something to be concerned with later since there were far more pressing concerns to pay attention to.

Specifically the sudden appearance of enemy coral craft materializing behind the fleet on the sensors, along with the approach of several squadrons from the Sith's main force splitting off and heading directly for her destroyer. "Fire the railgun now! Have all flak cannons target those bombers! Prepare the Quad Guns for when they get close and devote the Point Defense Emplacements to picking off their warheads!" The comm was a bit frantic with ships from the rear in a flurry over the attack from behind. Yet it was short lived as the crews of the frigates soon realized they were taking no damage and that they were reacting to an illusion. Quite the well crafted one to fool the sensors even, it was frigthening indeed. . . . it left the young Commodore wondering when the Sith developed the technology for such a large holographic force. . . . .and shuddered to think if it was just one of their powers.

Regardless, it was harmless, except for the time it caused the Republic ships in the rear to waste figuring out it was a false alarm and move to handle the actual threat approaching the front. The Admiral seemed to have called up the Dart after the nonsense ended to help provide added AA fire to the approaching enemy fighters. Hopefully between the Noblesse's own defensive countermeasures and the support from the fighter screen, not to mention the frigate the Admiral deployed to their position, the damage done would be minimal. Everything was a hectic mess of motion, Camellia realized this was a true battle.

Manaan had been a warm up, this was the Republic fleet's real battle they needed to win.

And as the Railgun fired another round and more salvos of turbolaser fire poured toward the vong cruiser, Camellia had to wonder if it was one they could emerge victorious from.

Summary
  • Took a shot from the Proton Beam Cannon
  • Talked a lot about the illusion, telepathic communication, and the various warships and techno babble
  • Fired again on the Yralf
  • Hoping Flak guns, the support frigate, and local fighter squadrons can handle the bombers effectively.

Khallesh watched her blaze bug studiously as the small number of troops moved into position. It was quite different to being in charge of just a small squad of Hunters. In her previous position it was only snap-decisions to be, you had to think on your feet and put your men in the right position to close on the enemy. There was more time now for decisions, on the order of minutes, but it was still fairly reactive to the will of her commanders, the yammosk and the enemy. She couldn’t extrapolate from her own experiences, to imagine what it would be like as a full commander, overseeing thousands of troops and planning for days on end.

Her troops were well placed now, with the enemy taking their time descending to let them nestle in the spires of Prak city. Several other groups had mimicked similar positions as the thin outer line of defence for the spaceport. At least she would get the room to manoeuvre and be the first to take the fight to the enemy, a great honour. Those back at the port would have to wait a while longer it seemed.

A good defence was only as good as its potential for offence. A lesson that had been drilled into the young Yuuzhan Vong many times during her training. Her Hunters would spot the enemy early, her thralls would hold them down. Her second echelon of defence would be reactive to the enemy, and finally her armour and fast attack groups would be able to secure any breaches in the line, or take to fight to the enemy in a flanking our break-out manoeuvre.

The impatient Huntress watched and waited. Her own vision was the result of millennia of genetic selection and manipulation and she already had exceptional night vision. However, she decided to let her Na’rin slide down over her eyes for a moment. The view was grainy, but definitely brightened the night-time view and enhanced the contrast of her surroundings. A moment later she let them slip back out of the way. The waiting was making her increasingly anxious, she clenched her left fist to prevent it from shaking. She’d need to meet battle soon, or risk losing her focus.

Map:
And here's a quick go at a map. Assume everything is fairly well built up that's off the main roads. However, the larger black boxes all indicate a huge skyscraper.

TsnYG7e.png

Let's expand a little:

The city sits on a plateau only 5km across that is roughly circular. For this reason the city is particularly vertical and dominated by skyscrapers. The very largest reaching to nearly a kilometer in height and hundreds of metres wide at the base. Whilst the plateau is "flat" relative to the surrounding mountains, the ground level of the city varies by as much as 500m. This ensures travelling by foot can be difficult, with winding slopes between the lowest layers of buildings.

The spaceport of the city sits around the base of one particularly large control tower. The ground is flattest here, for the largest shuttles to deposit their goods. Smaller shuttles may dock directly on the central tower. The space port is on the eastern edge of the city. The southeast border of the plateau drops off very sharply and into a valley, down which much of the traffic travels. For this reason approach to the city from the south east on the ground is exceedingly difficult.

The western side of the city leads into lower ranges and the Asonel cave system. The mountain ranges to the North and North-East of the city tower over even the highest skyscrapers.

There are two major business districts to the city, one directly east of the spaceport and one on the northwestern edge. Much of the rest of the city is surprisingly multi-purpose, with no clearly defined districts. The reason for this is that each of the skyscrapers is multi-purpose, with each a mix of several uses. A single skyscraper could have housing, leisure, office space, and industrial regions all spread across its levels. Housing towards the lower levels is generally much more affordable. Housing to the north-east of the city is particularly cheap and the lower levels here are closer to slums, with several red-light districts frequented by merchants.

There are two main areas of the city, where great effort has been taken to cultivate parkland and flora. Often the most expensive residential areas are near here, with the lower levels near the greenery actually quite desirable.
A massive speeder lane bisects the city from north-south, with many layers of traffic being organised down this highway, airspeeders can cross the city with ease. Moving from west-east is more problematic, and requires travel at lower speeds to weave between the jagged skyscrapers.

Location: Breeding Pits
Objective: Survive; Destroy the Citadel
Allies: Vode and Pubs [member=Arumi Zy] [member=Preliat Mantis] [member=Book] [member=Corvus Raaf]
Enemies: Dar'jetti, Vong, and Sithspawn

The truth behind the illusions unveiled themselves which showed, not the Citadel, but the breeding pits of the One Sith where they bred their monsters and experiments for their own purpose. As soon the fake images were shattered and diminished his HUD could pick up the signatures and inform him of his surroundings in the pits. Vong were everywhere, surrounding and advancing upon the Republic Forces and the Three Mandalorians. And the first man to charge at the hostile forces was one the three Warriors, Arumi. And Vilaz thought that he himself was reckless. Two fire breathers on the right began to spit fire, hence the name, at the ground forces and soldiers melt as soon the molecule from the these leviathan sized beasts touched them. From the left Yargh'un in numbers began to to charge at the amounts of soldiers of the Republic that were noticeable. Rodents they are and once they killed someone or something they would begin to feast upon the corpse of their killed. And everywhere huge ten rakamats in all directions in the size of a AT-AT walker advanced while spitting out lava from their bio-organic cannons on the Invaders, just like the firebreathers. And on the right a chrom-vrone worm also spewed out plasma on the surrounding ground.

"Damn," was the only comment the Rally Master gave after noticing the approaching forces coming at the Republic Soldiers. Well, he sure wasn't going to stand around and hold his ground. Especially, with flames of death being shot at them. "Mandalorian what do we do?" A terrified soldier asked him. Well, there was one answer or two that the Warrior could give. "Don't die 'n run. And call a damn strike on those big ass creatures," and relayed what the Dark Jedi Mandalorian told Vilaz and Preliat of what actions should be taken. These soldiers knew better than Vilaz because they've been fighting the Sith longer than the Mandalorians and knew their tactics and war beasts. The Mando'ade knew some of the Vong because they did fought them along with the New Republic when the famous Boba Fett was Mand'alor of the Mando'ade. But huge amounts of bombers would be needed to take care of the rakamats and the worm, and a turbolaser for the firebreathers. After giving the terrified and confused suggestions of what he should do the Mandalorian activated his repulsor pack and followed the footsteps of Arumi.

The Redneck preferred to fight and die besides his brothers and sisters than these soldiers that were insignificant to him. His dual WESTAR 34 pistols were drawn out and volleys of blaster fire began to rain down on the horde that was surrounding Arumi. Rodents of Yargh'un were injured or killed whenever a blaster bolt coming from Vilaz's pistol made contact on their bodies. He descended to the ground but he didn't deactivated his repulsor pack and have two feet on the ground. He hovered fifteen feet off the ground and continued to aim and fire upon the hordes of Yargh'un.

"Vod, best we get the hell outta here and get to the damn Citadel," he said via comm link, "just called in a strike to mow down them beasts." It was better to rendezvous with the Republic Forces and continue their seeking of the real Citadel.

Her own eyes moved skyward hoping to catch sight of their prey but it was only hopeful wishing, and the wish was not yet granted. The Republic, now confirmed, had decided to attack one of the most fortified worlds held by the Sith, and it could be days before they broke through the defenses thrown together by the fleet. However, if the Republic was fully committed to taking Prakith then it could be only mere hours before they landed. The anticipation and waiting was driving her further into madness. The thought of killing the enemy left a pleasurable taste in her mouth, one she savoured daily.

Unaware she was doing it, she first rubbed her left shoulder where she had developed a scar from her first encounter with a Jedi back on Manaan, then rubbed her right leg where the skin was healing still from catching a grazing blow from another Jedi's blade on Kashyyyk. What new scar would she add to her collection after this battle? "Keep this up and you will end up part machine. Or worse, dead. Unless of course that's your master plan, then I say you're doing a good job so far," the mocking voice of Darth Vemion whispered. Gritting her teeth and biting her tongue, she did not wish to be drawn into another pointless argument with that voice, or any of the voices today. But she failed. "Perhaps dying would be for the best...no more snarking remarks from the peanut gallery," she said a little louder than she wanted to, drawing looks from those around her. Damn it!

Before she could be plagued with questions of who she was talking to, she moved away from the group walking around the hanger picking up pieces of information from others engaged in conversation. But as her Master had said, there was little information on the fleet except they were here. With a sigh, it was the waiting game for her.

[member="Jannik Morlandt"]

The illusion held over the Citadel -- the invading forces headed to the breeding grounds save [member="Quinn Vos"] bringing her Jedi Prisoner, [member="Ryan Korr"] to be presented to the Chosen of Vahl.

Nephthys none the less gave a nod.

Another would call her to -- a shadow of the past.

They would meet once again.

An echo. A mirage. A mirror of herself.

Hundreds of meter-wide tubes would extend from the top of the Chom-Vrone, starting to spew out the plasma globules out onto the surrounding ground. Off in the distance member="Seraphina Shel'tah"] and [member="Corvus Raaf"] from their ridgeline would be able to see the mass eruption of tentacles.

The gobules would be flung to the republic forces, splashing hot molten plasma onto the incoming air support. like Yaret-Kor , these projectiles were powerful enough to melt through the hull of a New Republic starfighter, and collisions could easily knock fighters off their flight paths or stun enemy pilots. These weapons were difficult to counter, even with the advantage of deflector shields.

[member="Haytham Kaze"] was the closest in his J-1, and he would soon seen the volcano like creature at 100 meters flinging hot plasma gobules straight at him. Were [member="Sressechka"] and the approaching bombers and fighters by [member="Vilaz Munin"] to fly near, they would would soon be attacked by the very same method.

Were they to get too close they would notice the ten rakamat with the Dovin basals -- and they would start their organic charge up.

These were spherical creatures that were able to generate powerful gravitational fields that were used mainly as propulsion devices and shields. They were capable of creating micro-black holes that could absorb laser shots at spacecraft, as well as almost anything else, from proton torpedoes to concussion missiles. Groups of dovin basals were capable of generating inhibition fields which served as a type of force field to trap enemies in certain areas.

Dovin basals could also dramatically drain deflector shields from nearby enemy craft -- and if the incoming air support had those, in the following next minutes they would soon start to feel the effects.

However, [member="Lan Graendal"] skotcha's certainly brought their own measure of hell upon the breeding grounds. The combined force as stray proton hits would strike at a Grokata and smack a Rakamat. It would howl, bellowing at the direction of [, while the rakamat would shudder under the impact,

Gelatinous flame, would be exhaled by anti-laser aerosols at [member="Arumi Zy"], [member="Preliat Mantis"] and [member="Vilaz Munin"] by one of the Firebreathers. Flames would threaten to lick at Arumi's armored body as he would cut a swath through the ratlike creatures and implanters. Bodies would fall, but the Mandalorian Dark Jedi would be a testimony to his skill.

He was here to bring the Yuuzhan Vong hell.

The reptoid Chazrach warriors would hang along the Rakamats, catching a ride until they would get closer to the Republic Forces. Once there, they would drop off, giving a furious growl as they would start surging forward towards the rest of the forces -- [member="Elizie Adasca"] and [member="Veino Garn"] .... all the while [member="Varus Shatterstar"] would cut down Vong forces.

An implanter would hiss at him, seeking to pounce to attack and find soft fleshy areas to implant seeds -- would they strike true?

Out in the distance at about a kilometer away, [member="Book"] would be delivering materials for a FOB. He would be in the clear. -- at least for now.

Scouts from the One Sith and Yuuzhan Vong forces would spread out as they would start to investigate their surroundings.

The target marker had been set by [member=Book] at what was previously thought to be the objective Citadel. What the Republic had found there instead was perhaps even more alarming--a hive of all sorts of disgusting, lumbering Sithspawn and Vong creatures that were so big and such an eyesore to this planet. The Sith had bad taste, alright.

The pilot and her wingmates received the signal and began closing in on the target location, their foreboding weapons ready to go as soon as all procedures had been carried out. This would be a show.

Alexandra Feanor

The Lady in Silver/Grey Historian
Location: Skies over breeding grounds, in stealth ship
Objective: Drop in and kick ass... Since Balaya wont spawn the loser
Allies: [member="Vulpesen"] [member="Gherron Vael"]
Enemies: What ever Sith are there

Alexandra secured her breath mask and smiled as she turned, shouting down the halls of the ship. "EVE, ITS TOO HOT TO LAND NOW." She looked at the others and motioned with her head to grab something from the side of the ramp, personal flight packs that would allow them to drop in from a low and quick run over the battle. They wouldn't be able to drop right into the fight but it was because Alex really didn't need to be shot down before she got anywhere nearby. With that thought she breathed in and picked up one of the flight packs.

"Gherron, Vulpesen, plan B. We are going to drop in low over the outskirts of the battle and jump into the fry using these flight packs, so make sure they are secured. Plan A seems to not be going as planned seeing as Praelior has yet to show up so instead we are going to help the closest force. The breeding grounds will be out target and i have a nice payload on this ship but we need to get the anti Air taken down or aimed at the enemy before Eve can deliver it. So, i hope you are prepared to fight some vong." With that she opened the ramp with the ground about a few hundred yards below them now.

"Hope you aren't afraid of heights boys." With that she smiled and jumped back, the air whipping past her body as she fell down towards the ground with her hands reaching out and activating the flight pack, allowing her to control her direction and let her get down into the battle grounds quickly while Eve moved the ship out of the range of the battle once more. Sadly, it seemed a few vong were trying to sneak around the back of the Republic forces and she couldn't have them doing that, now could she?" With a sick cold smile she turned her body and let the flight pack slow her enough that she wont injure herself as she came down with her blades in her hands.

"SNAP-HISS."

And like that her blades pierced through the throats of the two unsuspecting vong and she removed the heads in a quick flick of her wrist. "Time for battle."

It seemed the time was approaching. Valtryx stepped outside only to be welcome by the sound of battle, both in the skies and elsewhere on the land. Her eyes scanned the spaceport, noticing the other Sith who had gathered to defend it. She did not know any of them, only had she heard of some, but even then unsure if it was actually them. Her part of the One Sith was only a recent occurrence, but that did not make her allegiance any less true than theirs. Right now there seemed little to do but wait, and so the Yodaling paced side to side, keeping a keen eye out for anything that may come to happen in the spaceport. Her hand hovered over her holstered lightsaber, eager to slaughter the Republic. The anger and hatred that had drawn her to the sith began to build up inside her once again. Each moment that passed caused her an insatiable itch to unleash the built up rage, but she could not. Not yet atleast.

Her head turned up to the sky, examining the battle above, or atleast what she could see of it. She could not tell for certain, but it felt as though they had the upper hand so far. Throughout all the commotion she could sense something in the distance. A familiar essence, one that had bonded with her long ago. Could it have been [member="Alexandra Lianne Feanor"]? She was not sure, but she was thankful that whatever she recognized was not near her, and therefore not a threat to the defense of the spaceport. Returning her gaze to the ground, Valtryx waited for the Republic to come. She waited to kill them...

Vulpesen grinned and grabbed one of the packs, securing it to his back as he prepared to jump with the rest. Shortly after Alexandra left the ship, he dropped out as well, turning on the flight pack before he could splat into the ground. Keeping close behind his companion, he turned his golden eyes to the ground below and activated his saber staff with the familiar hiss. Instantly, he felt the familiar nuances of his family crystals and was reminded of his days as a jedi shadow. "Let the fun begin." Cutting off his thrusters, he brought his legs down to slam into the skulls of two vong while his saber staff whirled through the necks of two more. After hitting the ground and rolling to his feet, he took a quick pace at Alexandra Lianne Feanor's side.

Location: Dropping over breeding grounds
Objective: Oppose the Sith and their annoying vong
Allies: [member="Vulpesen"] [member="Alexandra Lianne Feanor"]

First Alexandra dropped into the fray, then Vulpesen. That left just Gherron then. Jumping out with a flip for style, he straightened his body to quicken his speed as he fell down. On the way down, he could see several vong, but a few stood off to the side. A small grin plastered itself on his face. Perfect. Using the force to break his fall slowly, he ignited his saber and slammed it into the head of one, then spun around and smacked another right in its ugly face. Now that that was done, he brushed himself off and walked up next to his two friends. "First one to a hundred wins?", he offered.
