To unravel the enigmatic history of the Order of Vigilance, we must delve into the transformation of the Commonwealth’s Guild of Force Users. Originally conceived as a community, fostering the growth of Force abilities, the Guild unexpectedly evolved into a regulatory authority overseeing the expansive array of Force Users across the nation.

This shift, from a nurturing haven to a watchdog institution, prompted the emergence of the Order of Vigilance. This clandestine organization acts as the Guild's covert enforcer, stepping into the shadows to retrieve those who resist conformity. They target rogue Force users, often referred to as apostates—individuals who either remain unregistered as Force Sensitives within the Commonwealth or, having been registered, defiantly reject the teachings of the Guild and its affiliated factions.

The national government, wary of the potential influence of visiting Force users like Jedi and Sith, mandated the Guild to monitor them closely. In response, the Guild willingly complied, perhaps too readily. Subsequently, the Guild extended the reach of the Order of Vigilance beyond its original scope. The Order became the Commonwealth's silent sentinels, tasked not only with ensuring the compliance of its own citizens but also with tracking and retrieving those who ventured beyond the Commonwealth's borders.

The roots of the Order trace back to the inception of the Guild itself.
