Lori didn't stand up. Instead she spoke calmly as the soldiers surrounded Rex Valhoun Rex Valhoun . "You think that tax breaks and the military are what draws people to this station? They can get that from any planet in the territory, and yet they choose to be on this station instead. They choose to be. You hold little regard or respect for them, instead voicing your opinion that they should be thankful for your presence. Do you know who that sounds like? Maybe other worlds were able to bow down to your wishes and blaster fire, but these people are different."

She folded her arms across her chest before continuing as Dorthea Dobson Dorthea Dobson stared the man down. "Keeping the warrants on my friends out of petty spite isn't good leadership either. You're only looking for further trouble. Think about that before trying to force your rule over them, because that's what you're doing. You're letting your emotions cloud your judgement. That's not good negotiating."

Lori had a thought, glancing to the twins, Burtch and the others at the table. "Perhaps I should negotiate on your behalf for Elysium instead. I am in a position to do so, am I not?" It was a step that she hadn't taken before, having always taken a backseat role when it came to territory expansion. Maybe she'd be allowed the chance now.

Dorthea wasn't one to bluff, but Rex still found himself surprised by Dorthea's order. As the guards moved toward him, Loreena continued to prove that she didn't understand him, and wouldn't support him until she did. All she could see was an arrest warrant on her friends and a husband who had been far too distant for far too long. It was as if she was blind to everything else. She chose to ignore The Dobson threat. She couldn't see the reason for the warrants. She didn't understand just how alone Rex was now, and in this lack of understanding she only made things worse.

For Rex, his anger, his desire for revenge, and his blind rage were gone. But he couldn't let up. Any weakness would be exploited. Not to mention his popularity would collapse if he backtracked on the warrants and crackdown just days after claiming he'd be a stronger leader. It was already looking bad in The Senate...Imperials, Refugees, Republicans, and Elysium Imperials alike all seemed to have one blaster pointed at him and one at each other. He needed to keep them happy or else The Imperium would fail. Every action he took made ripples in the water, and The Imperium Declaration was like a cannonball, and he was now trying to control the splash.

He didn't want to lose Loreena...but did he ever really have her to begin with? Her words implied that maybe he did...but now she wasn't even within his grasp. She was working against him...but the logical thing here would be to prove himself to her. If she wanted to handle diplomacy, he could let her. It would show restraint, empathy, and trust...and maybe it'd earn hers back.

But first he needed to deal with the guards.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you..." he revealed his lightsaber hilt "...but if you insist, then first you'd better listen to me, and listen very closely. Dorthea Dobson is your commanding officer. But remember that I am your king. I run this nation. It is your duty to follow my lead, and I am asking you to trust me enough to back off."

The Captain, Bacceercha, paused for just a moment. Following his actions, the other guards paused, though their gaze didn't move from the surrounded King. It was enough...

"Lori." Rex turned his attention to her, speaking with a slight sigh of relief, "If you think that you need to negotiate in my place, then so be it. I trust you...you're Queen of Mnemosyne, Queen of The Imperium, Owner of Dar'Manda Industries, and you have proven yourself time and time again. However I would like to be here, because frankly Lori I don't think you understand the importance, and the urgency, of this. I- I have no one left. I won't fight this anymore...."

He could have chosen his words better at parts, but he was trying as hard as he could to back off, to remain calm, but still keep a professional image in front of diplomats such as the twins, and Grand Admiral Burtch.

Grand Shepherd Burtch

Fleet Commander For The Nomadic Peoples Coalition
Captain Bacceercha and his men stepped back instead of forwards from Rex Valhoun Rex Valhoun as he brandished his lightsaber threateningly. Normally, the soldiers would have the sense to overpower The King on Dorthea's command, but in this case, Dorthea's rage had gotten the best of her and she had put her within melee range of the man they were supposed to apprehend. Apparently, word of how Rex had violentlyoverpowered Var-Sulis Var-Sulis had gotten around and made the soldiers worried for Dorthea's safety. Half of the troops looked to Burtch in confusion and for guidance.

While the other half looked to Willow & Ivy Willow & Ivy .

Burtch decided to try something. He carefully sidestepped towards the twins and gently touched his hand onto Willow's shoulder. He then focused his mind, hoping this wouldn't be as uncomfortable as last time, ~Willow, can you hear me? I hope this still works. Dorthea is right. The Nomadic Peoples Coalition simply cannot negotiate with the King while under his threats. That kind of diplomacy can destroy us from the inside out, so he needs to be removed from this meeting. But I can't afford to sacrifice my navy commission at this time. The, um, Creator, still needs the… Steel Angels of the Elysium Imperium to protect itself. I'm the only one that still has access to those resources. If I order the troops to complete the arrest, we will lose those elements along with my commission. I know that this is a huge sacrifice for you to make, but we have no choice.

~I'm begging you to order the troops to arrest the King and escort him to his ship. They are all followers of the Faith, so they will listen to you.
Please…~

At the center of all this, Dorthea and Rex were standing face-to-face in an intense stalemate, neither budging…

Objective: 1

~Yes, I hear you...~ Willow placed her free hand on top of Grand Shepherd Burtch Grand Shepherd Burtch 's. He was their rescuer and as always his concerns had top priority. It wasn't often that he spoke to them in this manner, within their minds. However it was a sign of desperation for the situation they had all found themselves in.

Many of the soldiers wore the Navis Sacra pins upon their uniforms and it was Ivy that looked to them while Burtch and Willow silently conversed. Her gaze travelled slowly to Dorthea Dobson Dorthea Dobson , Loreena Arenais-Valhoun Loreena Arenais-Valhoun and then finally to Rex Valhoun Rex Valhoun . There was still a lot of tension between them all and neither of it was going to be helpful in negotiations. The twins had experienced such meetings while they lived under Broka the Hutt. Such tension would have been cut by executions on the spot. But that was not how they were going to lead the Navis.

Willow gave Burtch's hand a gently squeeze of assurance before she addressed those in attendance. "With all due respect, neither King nor Queen rule over the Nomadic Peoples. Neither King nor Queen have authority over them."

"This territory is neutral, the station intergalactic. To boast ownership of either is both premature and wrong."

"The Nomadic People escaped the wars of the Galaxy. They had escaped territorial conquest that persists everywhere."

"When once conquest by force by the purple lion was unheard of, it is not that way anymore."

"But that could change if certain steps are taken. Rex Valhoun, King of Elysium....you approach this meeting on the wrong foot. Your lack of respect towards those free peoples that you already claim to rule over is inexcuseable. With no respect your mind is closed to listen to their needs. You brandish a weapon and threaten those who's responsibility it is for the safety of those in attendance. And as such, the Navi shall escort you to your ship immediately."

"Go with grace and dignity. Allow others here to speak for you as was offered. Only then can progress be made."

Willow and Ivy nodded to the Navi soldiers, each of the men creating a physical barrier between Rex and the attendees. One of them gestured to the door, fully prepared to grab hold of Rex and drag him to his ship if need be.

Andrew Lonek

Holy Knight Commander (Navis Sacra)
As Andrew looked over at Daro Roz’yrn Daro Roz’yrn he nodded with a simple smile and took a drink from the table before him. Presumably his...Or Daro's but in any case, he was parched. He would hold it to his lips and then to his nostrils, curious as to the smell it would produce, wondering If it was a common or familiar drink. In the meantime, his eyes cut immediately at Omar Dobson while slurping from the cup.

"What he said...Oh in addition to being an instructor for the Holy Knights....If that is what your here for...Perhaps you can humor me with a brief answer to my inquiry on your...Treason is it? Against the Elysium Empire?" He asked as he drank from the cup before him. Andrew needed clarification as to what Mr.Dobsons' purpose was..And perhaps once an answer was given, he could find himself in a situation of an alliance.

Omar gave Daro Roz’yrn Daro Roz’yrn a curt nod in response to his salute, yet kept his cold and calculating stare on the soldier. He remained silent for a few seconds before he spoke. "Prophets....I am not a religious man. Prophecies are for the weak minded. Your forces are severely lacking in skill and tact, which is where I come in."

As Andrew Lonek Andrew Lonek spoke, Omar first directed his eyes to the man before slowly turning his head in his direction so that he was looking at him squarely. It was an almost unnatural movement, however he was skilled in making people uncomfortable around him. "Do I look like a man that carries a sense of humour?" He tilted his head to the side ever so slightly. "The King fears of losing his position of power to those that have helped to lead this government longer than him. Namely my brother. And so it is out of that fear that he acts to remove my family from the equation in a desperate bid to maintain his power. Some might call it a bold move while others see it for what it really is; a mistake that will backfire."

Leaders need to see the big picture, yet most didn't look as far reaching as they should, focused only on a portion of the big picture. But all that will change one way or another. And Omar taking up this job was just one small part of that.

Objective 2: meet with Andrew Lonek Andrew Lonek and Omar Dobson

"Prophets....I am not a religious man. Prophecies are for the weak minded. Your forces are severely lacking in skill and tact, which is where I come in."

Daro raised an eyebrow at the man as he degraded the marines. It took a lot to get under Daro's skin, and he wasn't quite there just yet, but he could not in good conscience let just any officer slam his boys. Cooly, he cleared his throat before speaking, "General Dobson, sir, in all fairness, and with all due respect, most of your initial recruits will be ex-marines that were stationed here on Damascus and have converted to the religion. Whether or not you put any stock in prophecies, all of these people are only coming to you because they want to learn how to better serve the prophets with what you can teach them. You don't have to believe in the faith yourself, but you should be conscientious of the type of people you're dealing with."

Just then, the Mon Cal clerk at the desk called out their number, and Daro stood up to get there order. As he walked over to get the tray full of burgers, he overheard what Omar Dobson was saying to Andrew Lonek Andrew Lonek .

Daro figured he wouldn't weigh in on politics unless he had to, especially since it was directed at Andrew. To Daro, the state of the Imperium was becoming less and less of a relevant factor. The Nomads and the Navis had a rich culture that could endure the failures and triumphs of whatever Rex Valhoun Rex Valhoun chose to do with his nation. All that mattered to Daro now, was the well-being of Willow & Ivy Willow & Ivy , his ability to fight for them, and rather strangely, his armour.

Strange indeed.

Daro wasn't used to feeling so connected to anyone, let alone a suit of armour. But his bond with the Angel Navis Operating System inside his suit was beginning to cause him to feel some sort of reverence for the AI he was paired with. Part of him wished he had Tin Can here to help him think about these things…

Andrew Lonek

Holy Knight Commander (Navis Sacra)
"You do not look like that type of man. In all honesty...You look like you could use some humor..But I digress.." He smiles and places the cup on the table as Andrew's smile would fade to a stoic glare at Mr.Dobson.

"A man that gets straight to the point. I admire that. Let's get serious for a moment." Andrew clears his throat and takes off his shades, placing them at the table before them.

"As Daro mentioned. There are members of the Novis Sacra looking to be led by well-qualified leaders with a reputation that precedes them. These ex-marines are battle-hardened and at the command, ready to follow someone like yourself. Now if they lack a certain skill set, perhaps you would be willing to course-correct. I am also working with the assembly of a team and working with the Novis to form a subsidiary group dubbed the "holy Knights" that will protect the religion, it's morality, and its citizens from threats both foreign and domestic. If we align ourselves the correct way in this endeavor, Mr.Valhoun will see the error of his ways rather quickly and I'm sure he will back down. If not..Well....War is a necessity for peace to ensue.

Andrew looks at Omar Dobson with a serious tone as he knew the time for pleasantries and skirting around the objectives were behind them. It was time to push back against Rex Valhoun Rex Valhoun should all negotiations fail.

Second King of The Elysium Empire

Dorthea he could resist, and Loreena he could work with, but to fight these Twins' authority would be a disaster. The negotiations would fail. But he would not back down, not with Dorthea Dobson staring him right in the face so close that he could smell the stench of her breath. Now he was torn. He needed to be diplomatic. He had just bent the knee to Lori, just like he had before, when she proposed to speak to The Imperial Bloc, and he wanted to obey the wishes of the twins in good will, but to give Dorthea the satisfaction would be painful. How could he twist this to be a victory?

"So be it. I'll leave. The fate of The Imperium is now on your shoulders, Lori. As for you, Ms. Dobson, the next time we meet, if you refuse to work with The Imperium, I will arrest you. All you need to do is turn yourself in, submit to questioning, help us fight your father, but you refuse because you think an arrest warrant is too harsh. Frankly had I known you would resist it to this extent I would have never implemented it in the first place.

Twins, I thank you for your patience. Please remember just how much The Imperium has done for your people. Farewell."

With that, he took one step back, then turned on his heel and made his way to the exit. This would be the last time he bend
s the knee. Next time Dorthea and Viken will cooperate, turn themselves in, and show that they are truly allies, or they will be arrested and be executed with the rest of their accursed family. Arken Dobson's rule would soon be at an end.

Crown Princess of the Sakura Empire
The Empress-to-be was relaxing after her morning run, sitting on her new chamber's balcony while sipping a fresh cup of caf. Her eyes lazily glanced over the newest reports from the various agencies, new events that had transpired overnight while she slept. Most were of little concern or importance, but she made a point to do this at the start of her day, everyday.

Made her feel a little accomplished and was starting to get her into a good routine as her mother had suggested.

Suddenly, her chamber doors were swung open and in the passage stood a heaving attendant, apparently having ran to give some sort of news.

Tsubasa raised a brow at the intruder, looking at him over the rim of her cup,"Well spit it out."

The attendant attempted to catch his breath,"Your Grace! News from Imperium Space! We just recieved word from Prince Oji and Commander Takami is gathering the Council for a meeting and sent me to gather you!"

The woman sobered up fast, taking in the few words,"Fill me in on the way, let's go!"

She raised her cup once more to her lips and took a deep swig of the dark liquid within before hurridly placing the cup down and dashing out behind the attendant.

Grand Shepherd Burtch

Fleet Commander For The Nomadic Peoples Coalition
A feral grin spread across Dorthea's face and she could barely contain herself. Just as Rex wheeled about, she couldn't help but shout, "hey! Don't let the airlock hit you in the —"

"DOBSON!!" Burtch barked out loudly, interrupting her taunting, "you, director, have done enough. You are excused from this meeting. Immediately."

She simply glared at her once-commanding officer, and her eyes began to grind out a retort in her mind. Her facial temperature rose as she struggled to find her words. Just as the muscles in her neck tensed for her to speak and make a case of some kind, Burtch interrupted her again, "YOU were supposed to negotiate on behalf of the Nomadic Peoples Coalition, while Rex was supposed to negotiate on behalf of the Elysium Empire. The two of you clearly failed to show maturity in this, and therefore, BOTH of you should be removed. This includes you. Now."

Dorthea only hesitated for a moment before she simply saluted, wheeled about, and marched out of the room.

Burtch then turned to Loreena Arenais-Valhoun Loreena Arenais-Valhoun and Willow & Ivy Willow & Ivy and he brought up a document with a button on the holodisplay, "As far as my understanding goes, Mrs, Arenais-Valhoun now has the authority to negotiate on behalf of the Imperium and the Holy Prophets can represent the Nomadic Peoples Coalition. This here," Burtch gestured to the document, "is a pre-drafted treaty to cement the nature of the relationship between the Coalition and the Imperium. In it, there are details on several points that have been pre-vetted and discussed;

"First, is territory control. It states that the Coalition will recognize the Imperium's official claim over the Praeda System, in exchange for granting Loreena Arenais-Valhoun Loreena Arenais-Valhoun and her company 100% ownership of the station.

"Second, it outlines the Coalition's duties in regards to contributing to Imperium Security. The Coalition will be granted the right to build its own defence force, but on two conditions: the station continues to build military assets for the Imperium at profitable market prices, and this defence force will stand ready to aid in whatever capacity is reasonable when asked by the King.

"Thirdly, The Imperium will recognize the Nomadic Peoples Coalition as a legitimate state within its borders. In exchange, the Coalition will adhere to Imperium laws as the 'law of the land'."

Burtch then slid a copy of the document to both Loreena and the Twins, "unless either of you have objections, or amendments to propose, then these are ready to sign."

Objective: 2

Omar's cold stare didn't waiver as Daro Roz’yrn Daro Roz’yrn tried to correct him in regards to the religion factor of the soldiers that he'd be training. Nor did he make any attempt to apologize. There was no need to, afterall.

As Daro left it was Andrew Lonek Andrew Lonek 's turn to speak. The fact that he removed his glasses and set them down to become serious showed Omar that there was a spark of dedication that he could work with. And that was good. The fact that he didn't balk at the possibility of war was also a good sign.

"I train in special forces techniques. There will be no religion interference in that. Save the hocus pocus for their free time. I'll not be conducting prayer sessions before every exercise. I'll need a file on every man that has signed up before the first training session for review. All soldiers will be prompt and dressed in their full kit or uniform for every session, or they will be removed from the program. My training has been known to break most men, only the toughest will survive. The enemy won't let up and neither will I. A full medical team must be close by and on call for every session. Oh, and I need a bell, a large one on a stand of it's own at the training grounds. I expect everything to be ready in two day's time. First session begins at 0430 hours. Are we in agreement?"

Objective: 1

Lori gave Rex Valhoun Rex Valhoun a small nod as he accepted her request. But she didn't smile or gloat in the victory. This wasn't a victory. Asserting herself and her position felt more like it was further driving the wedge between them. Their disagreements were more than just personal. They were political too.

Dorthea Dobson Dorthea Dobson was quick to show her satisfaction of it all until Grand Shepherd Burtch Grand Shepherd Burtch exploded and put her in her place. Lori had never seen the Chiss express much emotion, so the fact that he yelled caused Lori to jump in her seat.

Her attention turned to the document once it was produced, staring at it as Burtch read out the proposal and conditions. All seemed fine, but there was one thing that needed to be pointed out; "Rex wouldn't let me have full ownership....My company is independent and he'd view it as a loss. But perhaps the Coalition could purchase their own percentage of ownership, then over time it would have full ownership of this station. All else within this contract regarding the military can be considered a tax or rent. I believe that all else looks good." And yes this would include her giving up her own shares in Damascus eventually. If the Coalition wanted to be it's own state within Imperium space, then it needed to have somewhere that was completely it's own and not owned in part or in whole by others.

Objective: 1

Willow and Ivy said nothing as Rex Valhoun Rex Valhoun boasted of the Imperium before he walked out. It was common for rulers to have big egos. They had seen it in the Hutts and the Warlords. So this was no different. There was no reason to respond to such a statement.

Their attention turned to Dorthea Dobson Dorthea Dobson before immediately going to Grand Shepherd Burtch Grand Shepherd Burtch as he snapped at the Chief Director. This station was their home and it was clear that he'd do anything to protect it. He had the respect of most on board, most especially from the twins. He was more important to them than anyone else on board and they smiled in appreciation for him directing the conversation back to the negotiations.

Lori seemed to fall in line quite well and that was probably in part due to her history, which was a good thing.

"Gaining full ownership would be ideal."

"It would provide us with the independence that we need to maintain."

"Others may tire of the station life and seek accomidations on world."

"They will have comfort in Imperium worlds while already being accustomed to Imperium laws."

"Yes, this is the best solution."

"We agree to it."

Grand Shepherd Burtch

Fleet Commander For The Nomadic Peoples Coalition
Objective 1

With both parties agreeing to the terms spoken, Burtch tapped an icon to tell the computer to ammend the agreement to the terms just spoken aloud. Both copies of the document that were in front of both parties were erased and rapidly re-written to suit the new agreement. And with that, Grand Admiral Burtch clasped his hands behind his back in satisfaction, "Then we are in total agreement then. The Nomadic Peoples Coalition political body will retain 49% ownership of Damascus Station upon signing the contract and will gradually purchase future percentages in periodic payments henceforth until the Coalition retains total control of the aforementioned property.

"Now, if you will both sign the documents, I will take them straight into processing and insure that all parties receive legitimate copies of the agreement."

Burtch allowed himself a small smile. The society and culture that was developing here on Damascus Station was good and flourishing. He was happy that the Twins were receiving legal recognition and so was the Coalition. A government structure would soon need to be established, but that could be managed later. For now, today was a very big step towards receiving validation for the Nomads of Damascus Station. The kind of validation to be able to say to the rest of the galaxy, "WE ARE HERE!'"

"As Daro mentioned. There are members of the Novis Sacra looking to be led by well-qualified leaders with a reputation that precedes them. Daro cringed inwardly as he listened to the conversation behind him unfold. Andrew was not wrong about going to war if they had to, but Daro was simply not gung-ho about it. He wasn't like all the ham-handed pacifists in the galaxy that peace-mongered about how "wrong" war was, but as a man who had served as a navy-man/marine his whole 170 year life, it just sounded like more work. Bitter work. Fighting people that didn't necessarily deserve killing. Headaches, sacrifices, risks, and more memories to add to his long list of things that created nightmares. He was a soldier, through-and-through, so he would always fight when required, but over 150 years of service, he knew the good wars from the ugly ones. There was a difference there that he'd rather not think about right now, but a war with the Imperium would be ugly.

And, of course, there were Omar Dobson 's comments about training the new recruits. Daro, himself, had been on both ends of boot camp training multiple times in his long life. He suspected that Omar wanted to enlist Daro's support in training the new recruits, which Daro honestly hated. He actually preferred being the one in training. Over the course of 150 years, he had refreshed his military basic training at least four times. Bonding with one's fellow soldiers like brothers, while humbling one's self to learn new tricks, or relearn old tricks long forgotten was always refreshing and challenging. And the stories that he had collected from newbies trying to prove themselves were always a side-splitting hoot. On the other hand, being the trainer, yelling at trainees, and ensuring that they learned all the skills to survive had its rewarding moments. But it was a lonely process, and seeing bodies come back from war, or no bodies at all, tended to weigh on his conscience as an instructor. He hoped that Omar was wanting the latter from Daro, but it was more than likely that Omar wanted his assistance…

Daro collected his tray of fast food from the counter, gathered condiments, napkins and straws, and carried their food back to the table. He autonomously set the tray on the table and began distributing food as he began to weigh in on the conversation, "well, General, Andrew is right. Some of the new recruits are 'walk-ins' but a large percentage of them are hardened marines. No doubt, the training you will offer them is going to test the limits of even the hardest of veterans, but you'll find that this batch isn't gonna be a bunch of pushovers. And the ones that aren't are refugees in their own right, given our nomadic roots. A lot of them have seen some nasty stuff and those that haven't have grown up around those that have. If your goal is to push them to the edge, you'll have to push harder than most.

"As for your equipment requests, I'll get Dorthea Dobson Dorthea Dobson on the horn and she'll see to the medical teams and your bell. You know your niece well enough. She's good at that. And we can begin whenever you like — early mornings aren't a new thing for me"
he shot a brotherly nod at Andrew Lonek Andrew Lonek before continuing, "but my question is; what end of the ol' boot am I on here? I noticed you left that part out." He couldn't help but grin. These old-school drill instructors had a way of making him feel… right at home.

Andrew nodded at Omar's statement. Now that it seemed the three were coming to an understanding and agreement.

"Agreed. I will take a thorough count of all registered men and women and inventory for medical and arsenal supplies. We'll have them ready General. Common ground....I think we found it. Two days time!" Andrew smirked and ate his burger while turning to Daro Roz’yrn Daro Roz’yrn . He observed his question directed at Omar and chimed in. "Well Daro my man, I think this leaves you as an overseer of operations. Of course, there would be no need to question the training regime, but non the less. I have a contact within the battalion that would love an opportunity to train under our faction. I'll get in touch with him a.s.a.p."

Andrew nodded and turned back to Omar Dobson . "Well if there isn't anything else..I should be on my way."
