SPECIAL FEATURES

• Alive - a willing sentient soul is selected from the Keeper Caste and is enteched to the CPU while the operating software is simultaneously uploaded to the computer at the same time. The end result is that all three - the soul, the OS, and the hardware - become one entity. This process is done with the aid of The Twins and their powers. Only members of the Keepers Caste are selected for this great honor. The soul retains none of its original memories and obeys its programming.
• Ritual pairing - this operating system is designed to pair seamlessly with the Holy Communion Neural Implant. The owner of said implant becomes the master of the AI and the vessel it inhabits, and the AI becomes totally subservient to the Master. This is done during a ritualistic ceremony where the Twins use their powers to complete the bond between Master and Angel on a metaphysical level. The pairing unlocks different features for both the Master and the Angel, and are indicated in the table below and in the “Holy Communion Neural Implant” submission. The Angel Navis Operating System can only fully bond with one “Master” or “Captain” at a time, but it can also uplink support for multiple crew, officers, and engineers on a lesser level at the same time for lessened results.
• Systems Integration - being a highly sophisticated operating system, this software provides the framework for all of the ship’s systems, programs, and apps, working together in harmony. New software can be uploaded through this operating system on the fly at any time.
• Low Power Drain - the enteched soul is strictly limited to the CPU on a ship and does not power any other systems. All other systems are powered by the ship’s reactor(s). This allows for the soul to last many centuries as a power supply for the CPU.
• Evolving capabilities - the operating system evolves as the connecting between the vessel and its master deepens over time. The engineers failed to anticipate this phenomenon during development, but with each level of connection, new capabilities unlock for the Operating System AI:

Level 1​	This level is granted immediately after the Master is fully bonded with their Angel during the ritual. At this level, there are no additional features aside from the ones listed outside of this table.	The only drawbacks are the ones listed outside of this table.
Level 2​	This level unlocks after the player completes one thread with their character and ship together. This level gives the Angel the ability to communicate conversationally with its master like telepathy through the uplink	Whenever the Master and the Angel use the uplink to communicate conversationally like this, the Operating System becomes vulnerable to Mechu-Duru and the Master becomes vulnerable to Alter Mind Force Powers. An uplink is required for this to happen. Jamming, range, and equipment failures can prevent, or disrupt the conversations.
Level 3​	This level unlocks after the player completes a second thread with their character and ship together. This level of bond allows the Angel and the Master to visit each other in a virtual cerebral plane that exists within the vessel’s CPU.	The Master’s body is rendered totally unconscious while these sessions are taking place. An uplink is required for this to happen. Jamming, range, and equipment failures can prevent, or disrupt these sessions.
Level 4​	This level unlocks after the player completes a third thread with their character and ship together. At this level, the bond is strong enough that the Angel can assume clumsy control over the Master’s body in the even that the master is rendered unconscious for any reason. This is only sufficient for getting the master to safety.	The Operating System is not programmed to operate an organic body, so the movement are uncoordinated and clumsy. Latency further reduces reaction timing which can cause injury to the master’s body An uplink is required for this to happen. Jamming, range, and equipment failures can prevent, or disrupt these efforts.
Level 5​	This level unlocks after the player completes a fourth thread with their character and ship together. With the bond between Master and Angel fully realized, the Angel gains a powerful offensive code-slicing ability, relative to the scale of the vessel of the Angel.	As a side effect, the master is forced into unconsciousness and enters the cerebral plane that was unlocked with the level 3 bond. But since the Angel’s CPU is using up its processing power on the code-slicing efforts, it can not assume control of the Master’s body at this time.

STRENGTHS

• Guardian Angel - this Operating System provides protections from incapacitation to its captain and crew through an uplink with the Holy Communion Neural Implant. However, the CPU on any given ship has limited processing power and can only provide these protections to the Captain and up to 10% of the rated crew at a time. These resistances are listed in the Holy Communion Neural Implant submission.
• Additional Software - multiple new programs, apps, and software can be uploaded and used on the ship on-the-fly as needed through this operating system.
• Resistant to Mechu-Duru - because this Operating System AI is an amalgamation between technological hardware, software, and living souls, Mechu-Duru is ineffective against it.

WEAKNESSES

• Another Means of Detectability - because the CPU has been infused with an enteched soul, a Force User can find a ship that is equipped with this OS by searching for the enteched life-force within it.
• Can Only Help So Many - This software can only protect up to 10% of its rated crew and the captain at a time when they have the Holy Communion Neural Implant. The computer is programmed to prioritize its protection according to rank and importance. If the ship is a one man crew vessel, then the computer certainly has enough power to protect that one individual, but no one else.
• Down with the ship - since the soul, the software, and the CPU are fused as one, to remove the OS from a vessel is so catastrophic that it would “kill” the whole system.
• Space-Travel Rated Vessels Only - for religious reasons, it is considered a grave sin to install this Operating System on anything that isn’t rated to protect a living being from the dangers of space-travel. Spacesuits and space stations are allowed, as they qualify, but not tanks, speeders, droids, supercomputers, homesteads, etc.

Accept this communion with joy and humility.”

The Angel Navis Operating System AI is the thing that separates ordinary ships of the galaxy from the Angels of the Navis Sacra Religion. It is imbued with a living soul to give it life and is bonded with a “Paired One” to give it guidance.

The souls that are enteched into the AI are offered willingly. Only members of the Keeper Caste are granted the privilege to become Angels and it is considered the highest honour of all. The soul sacrifices it’s body, its memories, and its very identity to become an Angel, and then is bonded to a “paired one” who has received the Holy Communion Neural Implant. The ritual bonds all three entities together as one; the captain, the enteched soul of the operating system, and the ship itself.
