Mandalorian Empire Dominion of Ithor
Ottega System, Ithor
Objectives:
1. (Combat, Investigate) Secure Haffa City. Eliminate the oncoming incursion force before it destabilizes the anti-grav systems and crashes the City to the sacred surface. Discover who the enemies are, and destroy. Secure the space lanes.
2. (Diplo, Force Healers) Commune with the Bafforr Trees & Ithorian Priests.
Objective 1: Secure Haffa City. Eliminate the oncoming incursion force before it destabilizes the anti-grav systems and crashes the City to the sacred surface. Discover who the enemies are, and destroy. Secure the space lanes.
Word came from a dying Ithorian city, overrun by enemies which let the floating apparatus malfunction and crash into the sacred forest below. Instead of staining their sacred jungle with their metal and corpses, the Ithorians of Jepnit City made one last distress call.
“Mandalorian Empire, Jepnit City to Mandalorian Empire… we refuse to sully our sacred groves, but our enemies have overrun us. They are making for Haffa City, please, you have been focussing on ecological recovery and terraforming your planets, help us before there is no Jungle left. They’re after th-t-he.. t…tr…eelp…” The communication cut out, as heat signatures taken by orbital scanners showed the complete obliteration of Jepnit City.
Signatures coming off the atmosphere showed an atmo-based force of cobbled together fighter squadrons escorting troop carriers and drop pods toward Haffa City.
Why the force was there, and what they wanted was yet to be discovered. All the Mandalorians did know was this:
The Ithorians asked for their help to preserve their global jungle, and in exchange, they would give Mandalore the aide to terraform and enhance Kalevala, Mandalore, and any of the planets, which were still ravaged by ecological war.
The Mandalorian Forces were split between Yasha-Class Atmospheric Carriers, staging points for troop movement, individual fighters and groups of Ithorian warriors and police.
A hulking leonid-beskar’gam-clad figure stood upon the Concordia, the lead Yasha-Class Carrier, his booming voice augmented by the audio processors in his buy’ce.
“Launch fighter squadrons! Chase those brigands down and take out their weapons’ systems before they can fire on the planet or cities! Board the troop carriers, capture the officers and kill the rest! Shield tanks, get to Haffa City and activate the shields in the most heavily populated areas. Slicers, jam their signals and triangulate their origin positions!” Yronwulf watched the forces scramble, and turned to walk up to the Command Deck.
“Mand’alor, our forces are mobilizing.” Yronwulf spoke on his private line to the Infernal, an image of his genetic matriarch appearing in the lower left corner of his HUD.
Objective 2: Commune with Ithorian Priests & Baffor Trees. Create a diplomatic tie.
Ithorian Priests. That was who Ember Rekali seeded in the mind of Yasha Mantis, to cleanse and reintegrate her soul. The events of Barataria, Commenor and Sabarene caused a realization in the Infernal. There were intrinsic and spiritual reasons why the planetary systems around them feared the Sith… but Yasha could never feel it. Caution led her thus.
The caution of a mother looking at her Infernal Child, the caution of becoming too close to terrors and thus being destroyed. There was no contest on who the Galaxy’s most ecologically sensitive and spiritually centred race was, and the fact of its’ proximity to Er’kit made the Mandalorian Empire’s next acquisition all the more necessary. While the military force were attempting to salvage Haffa City, and the support ships were combing the ash of Jepnit City, Yasha stood on board the Eponix, a Yasha-Class atmospheric carrier and watched several speeders of Ithorians approach.
“Find the instigators. No harm comes to the Ithorian Jungle, or the Ithorian people. Work with the locals, I shall continue here.” Yasha’s voice was quiet, the image of her genetic scion in his buy’ce nestled in the lower right corner of her HUD.
“Elek, Mand’alor.”
Ithor. It would happen here, upon the floating cities.
"Ember, you'd better be right about this."
