The Jedi Were Stupid

Is it just me or did the Jedi cause their own downfall in the Prequels through repeated bouts of stupidity?

TPM:
- Accepting Anakin to be a Padawan. Not too bad I guess, but it could have been handled better.
- Doing nothing to help retaking Naboo. For a start they could have sent more Jedi to Naboo.

AOTC:
- This is where it gets really puzzling. Letting Anakin go alone with Padme bordered on the insane. Why send a Padawan who is known to be rash with someone who means a lot to him? Inviting trouble.
- Sending Obi-Wan alone to Kamino and Geonosis. They seemed able to rally a lot of Jedi later, but were no others available? Should have sent Anakin with Obi-Wan, and had Padme escorted by a more reliable Jedi.
- Showing up with 200 Jedi on Geonosis with no clear plan. Yes, they send troops to knock out the droid control centre, but the rest of them charge into the middle of the arena and get massacred. Mace Windu should have planned better and taken friends to face Dooku...a known former Jedi Master.

ROTS:
- Sending Yoda off Coruscant, even despite his relations with the wookies.
- Again splitting up Anakin and Obi-Wan. I get that they were manipulated into sending Obi-Wan rather than Anakin, but it still makes no sense.
- Mace Windu's handling of the coup was just stupid from the start. What did they plan to do even if he'd won?

Narrative expedient I know, but what happened can be squarely blamed on the ineptness of the Jedi.

The scene with Mace and Palpatine angers me to no end.
He takes othe skilled Jedi with him > Decent I guess.
He did it knowing Palpatine was the strongest Sith out there > Bad
Tried to ARREST him after he killed the other three > WTF?
Underestimated Palpatine's control over Anakin > Bad
There was zero planning when they went to take old Palpy. It's like they were hanging out and thought, 'I wanna kill the Sith lord, anyone want to come?'

It always felt, personally, that it was a byproduct of years of bloating arrogance. They were the Jedi Order, they could do no wrong. ...Although, a lot of it stems from poor writing, but that's another discussion entirely.

I think it mostly was because they had to make it so that the Prequels would give a good explanation and story on how Anakin became Darth Vader. In addition, they had to somehow suddenly turn the Galactic Republic into the Galactic Empire.

Maybe they were arrogant and so full of themselves. Jedi tend to be that way. Mace wanted to take down Palpy because he wanted to be the man, pride was his downfall. That and the lack of hair, but mostly the lack of hair.

Can you imagine what his corpse would look like if he had hair? I would go omg the pulp fiction guy got fried by the emperor. Where is my Burger Royale homie?

But the explaination wasn't even good! In the original it was said he was seduced by the darkside. In the prequels he was pretty much a prick the whole time. All it took was a few chats with a nasty looking Sith lord.

Palpatine was Marcellus Wallace all along. O,O But yeah, the potential for an actually captivating decent into darkness was... fudged. Which makes it difficult, outside of EU materials, to pinpoint where the Jedi went so wrong.

Anakin should have been watched. Jedi are supposed to be able to sense each other's feelings. If so, why did noone care that Anakin not only had a large abundance of hatred, but also was in love with Padme? Yoda actually spoke to Anakin at once point about it didn't he? Wouldn't the wisest Jedi ever be able to add that with his visions of doom and solve the equation?

Short stack had bigger problems like the galactic shortage of gummy bears and wondering where the hell he would get adult diapers now that company that made them closed down :p

I'm sure there was some kind of combination of factors that led to it all. The Dark Side clouding the visions of the Jedi, the Clone Wars tearing the Galaxy apart, Anakin's status as a Jedi messiah, the corruption of the Republic, etc etc.

And people wonder why Ryori hates Jedi so much. Loves their cause, hates the people that make up the Order.

There's a reason she spent most of her time in the Order fighting her comrades as much as their enemies... cause Jedi are fucking retards lol.

It was only a matter of time before Ryori went:

That's what I don't understand. Ryori hates the people in the Jedi Order, but yet still joined the Republic when the New Rebel Alliance is full of people who weren't in favor with the Jedi Order and the people in it and decided to break away, but still followed the same goals. Mostly the destruction of the Sith, but without the hindrance the Jedi and Republic had.

See, Ryori is stubborn though... as much as she says she hates the Order and is fed up with their shit, it's the only thing she's ever been a part of. She's still attached, still trying to fix them. She doesn't realize it ICly, but she's addicted. She can't go anywhere else. Whether officially or non, she's always going to be a part of the Order whether she likes it or not. She invested too much of her life in it to let go of them completely, or even fully walk away.
