The Jedi High Council

Selena entered the council chambers alone at first. The ancient room looked awkward to her. It was clearly built for more chairs than it presently had within it. She walked over to the one in the middle and touched the top of it before walking up to the windows behind it. The skyline before her a light orange as the sun began to set. As the day ended she began to consider the last few days. She had not even been reconfirmed to the Jedi Order, just the overwhelming support of the Jedi Order had put her directly into the position of Grandmaster.

The Jedi Master's head turned and looked back at what was now her chair. The responsibility of it slowly began to sink in. If she had been put in charge then expectations existed. Given perception of her, she knew what they would likely be angling for. However, the waters to get there would be difficult to navigate.

It was then that she pulled the datapad out of the folds of her robes and pushed a little send icon on it. The message would go out to eleven masters within the order, well ten of them and a Knight. They would likely gather here quickly. Some would be optimistic, others hesitant, regardless this was the beginning. Today marked her first day in the seat of the Grandmaster.

Josh had a motto for his duties for the Jedi and Council. If possible, be the first to arrive, and the last to leave. And that was one that Josh followed as he quickly made his way to the Council chambers that he had for so long considered home. It was his work station, it was his environment, it was where he felt comfortable and where he felt he belonged.

Walking in, his gaze met with that of @[member="Selena Halcyon"]. Josh took a breath and bit his lip. He had mixed emotions about her becoming Grandmaster. Sure, she was a capable Jedi... But what he had seen at the trial after Contruum, he wasn't sure if it was a burst of passion that was a one off... Or if she wasn't exactly what she had presented herself as. Then dread filled his mind... She was Grandmaster, he was one of the Council Members that had followed @[member="Darron Wraith"]'s motion to exile her... He felt a bit sick as he thought about it, but he didn't let that stop him from taking his familiar spot that he had grown accustomed to. Hopefully, the new Grandmaster didn't hold grudges. The last thing he needed was for his work to be awkward, or more difficult then it already was. Though hard, he still loved doing what he did, and considered himself lucky to be a Knight, of all things, on the Council.

He gave Selena a nod as he took his position. "Grandmaster Halcyon" he greeted with a polite nod. He still was learning to properly pronounce her name...

Carn arrived promptly. He had little idea what this was about, yet his instincts told him to expect great things. After all, here was a Grandmaster summoning him to the council chambers. A Grandmaster, that he had been looking into. Her files showed that she was an apt and fitting candidate for the role, and indeed, from what he could gather the Grandmaster and himself were somewhat like minded - Although how like minded remained to be seen.
What he saw when he entered the Council Chamber did not shock him - He had expected the Knight to be here. After all, somehow he had managed to gain himself a seat on the Council, and Carn did not expect him to leave the chamber often, in case it was his last time there. It was still a strange subject though, how a Jedi Knight could be expected to lead the Order. Still. There was a Grandmaster now. Perhaps she would do right be the Order.

He eyed Selena up as he entered the room, taking in her general appearance. He noted everything, from the way the light caught her hair, to the way that she presented herself to those she had summoned. Each detail, he knew, would be yet another thread in the tapestry of the Jedi that now lead the Order... He felt compelled to test if it would unravel with a light tug - So a light tug he gave it.

"So this is our latest Grandmaster? I had expected someone who had seen more years."

His words, while a clear jibe at her age, were merely a test. If she exerted her authority and reminded him of his position in the Order in comparison to her own, Carn would know beyond all doubt that she would be a Jedi he could follow, and thus respect. If not? Then... Well. Perhaps she was not all she was said to be. He stepped further into the room, so as not to clog the turbolift, yet he had no intention of taking a seat - After all, he was not a member of the Council, and thus had no such right.

Syn

Nimir-ra to Iella, Jedi Shadow
Syn had gotten the message and smirked to himself a little, the idea of Selena being grandmaster was... Not what he had expected when he said they order needed her still but it mattered little. No he was actually glad for it and welcomed a change, perhaps it would lead the jedi into a new direction to get away from the politics of the Republic senate. Though that seemed to be getting fixed as well at least he hoped so. With a look he strode into the council chamber wearing his robes and heard @[member="Carn Dista"] speak.

It brought a chuckle from him as he spoke giving a bow. "For one so young to say that is a humorous thing to say." His head turned to take in Joshua and he bowed before straightening his robes to check the amulet from dagobah, the necklace from the Teyan artifact and his taozin nodule that were hidden under his tunic and robes. He went towards one of the seats and brushed it off before standing to the side of it and looking at each of them.

"Well now isn't this an interesting grouping."

A single brow lofted at the jibe from Carn Dista. Then at Syn when he came in with his remarks. Safe to say Selena had not expected such light banter at the onset of a meeting. During her tenure on the council, well before her exile, she had always come to meetings via holo so perhaps she had just avoided most of this kind of thing. Questioning her age struck her as odd as well given that Jedi typically did not put much stock in age.

"You did not strike me as one who would put much stock in age." In a way her next sentence both responded to Carn and also to Syn's remark, "The Living Force moves in strange ways." She remained standing behind the Grandmaster's chair. She had decided she would remain standing for this meeting. Too few chairs were in the room for the twelve, that would change after today though.

Kiskla had been approached rather under the table. Apparently her assistance around the temple had been noticed, and in addition; her mastery. She'd not had enough activity yet to make a name for herself, which struck the curiosity chord how they got her contact. Silly girl, don't ask questions. Just accept it.

There were whispers in the hallways of not only the temple itself, but anywhere that hosted hallways. The Republic was undergoing some changes, and considering the results of the recent election, so were the Jedi.

Kiskla hadn't been an active member of The Order for some time, and now here she was. Entering the council chambers. She hadn't been here in ages, at least eight years when she was being told that her Padawan training would transfer under a single master. There was already a collected group, small although it was. Each figure was donned with traditional robes much like her own (probably less a few moth balls, she rarely wore the things). She'd seen each of them before, at least once in varying circumstances.

@[member="Selena Halcyon"] at her trial; which was indeed a questionable affair considering she was now the elected leader of an impressive Order. Kiskla was sure she'd seen someone who looked like @[member="Syn"] at that trial as well, in the audience.

@[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] off-planet for a slave ring discovery ordeal thing. The details were fuzzy.

And finally, she was fairly certain @[member="Carn Dista"] had been at the first assembly of her Padawan's Army of Light meeting. He'd humiliated Knight Ordo in front of a mass of people.

However, all that aside, they were all in this together, apparently and it was her duty to make everyone feel at ease. Politician's trick. She was wary of her presence, and folded her hands at her waist, tucking them beneath her long sleeves.

"Congratulations on your election, Grandmaster Halcyon." Kiskla spoke, therefore announcing herself. In turn, she nodded toward each individual she had identified from her memorybank. It was strange to call someone else grandmaster, after poking so many jabs in Darron's direction. In fact, the whole thing made her stomach feel slightly like a pit of unsettled snakes, especially without knowing just what she'd been called in for.

Surely she wasn't being sent to the principal's office.

It was petty, Phylis knew. She chided herself for being so…worldly, but she had really wanted that seat by the door. Now it seemed someone else had claimed it. Ah well.

She took a seat next to @[member="Kiskla Grayson"]. She at least seemed more agreeable than some of the others. She knew them all, but had rarely bothered with the other Jedi Masters. She had her work, and had been happy with that.

But now the Jedi Order was falling apart again and they had a new Grandmaster. And so, against her better judgement, she had let herself be talked into rejoining the circus.

At least she respected @[member="Selena Halcyon"]. She was a woman who knew which side her bread was buttered. Whatever that meant.

“Yes, congratulations, Selena!” Phylis said brightly. She should have called her Grandmaster, or possibly Master. It was difficult to say.

Slowly the entire group of ten masters and one knight that Selena had summoned trickled into the room. Many congratulated her and others were silent. All around it still had a strange atmosphere to the new Grandmaster, but she pushed that out of her mind. The Force had moved and put her here and them by association. With them all gathered she took a deep breath, still standing behind the head chair.

"Thank you all for coming here with such little notice and at such an hour." The sun was rapidly extinguishing behind the horizon. "As you can see twelve of us now stand here, should you all accept the appointment this will now be the High Council of the Jedi. While the smaller councils of the recent era have been functional, I intend to see this Order return to much of its traditions. Along with the returning the High Council to its true form with twelve seated members, the position of Knight Representative will cease to exist. Simply no example of a knight being seated exists in our histories aside from Anakin Skywalker which came from the outside pressures of the senate, that is until the position was recently crafted."

At that point she focused her attention on the Jedi Knight of the group, "This has nothing to do with your service or the service of the few others before you, as it has been commendable. However, your time on the council as a Knight comes to an end today." The pause afterwards was unintentional, it was just that she had said a lot took a slight longer breath than most. "You will now serve on it as a full Master within the order. Recognized for your service and dedication to the Order. While perhaps premature, you have served as a leader in the Order and have done so commendably for your station. As a Master, expectations will obviously be higher for you. I am sure you will rise to them."

Phylis watched the display curiously.
Poor guy, old Knighty. Dismissed after being compared to Anakin...harsh. Oh...promotion. Well, that's nice. I don't even know his name. Or is it a she? Damn robes.
This rather rambling stream of consciousness fortunately didn't leave her mouth. Instead she tried to look serene and knowledgeable.
It was rather off putting that there were 5 masters and one newly promoted master she didn't even know who was. Maybe there'd be name-tags later? Phylis didn't like name-tags, people always spelt her name wrong.

She didn't know if she was supposed to applaud. She did. "Congratulations, Master!" she said to the new Jedi Master. It was a good title, not biased by gender or race.
It seemed her role so far had been to congratulate others. Should she show initiative and start a discussion? Probably not. She waited for Selena to say something else.
Vague memories of Selena in a white robe thinking she was from the Mandalorian Wars kept bobbing up, but she didn't know why. She'd barely met Selena much...right?

Syn

Nimir-ra to Iella, Jedi Shadow
Syn looked at the others who had arrived and gave a bow of his head and listened, the news that Selena gave about the council and positions. For a moment he remained neutral in his expression at Dragonsflame's news. Or at least for the moment that he had no seat on the council, no knight rep meant no him. Which seemed strange for all the work he did on it but then he heard the news he was getting promoted and had a nod of his head. It was well deserved and he spoke. "Congratulations." He remained by the seat and crossed his arms showing a small smirk. His form of approval.

Josh regarded the arrivals of @[member="Carn Dista"], a Senior Jedi Master who despite his beliefs, he held respect for, and @[member="Syn"], who despite their differences, he knew and respected, with a nod in greeting.

As @[member="Kiskla Grayson"] walked in, he regarded her with a slight smile, having partnered up with her recently for a mission. @[member="Phylis Alince"], meanwhile, he didn't know, but he gave her a nod in greeting as he did with Carn and Syn. He was sure there would be time for introductions in a matter of time... He just needed to make time for it.

He listened carefully to the speech of @[member="Selena Halcyon"], nodding along. It made sense, he was happy to see the Order was finally fixing up the Council, it was an issue that had been bugging him for quite some time.

Then she announced that the Knight Represenative position would cease to exist. His breath hitched, but.. Ah, he knew this was coming...

He gave a smile of resignation as she told him that his time as a Knight on the Council was over... He tried to remain calm on the issue. But inside, his heart was beating fast. Just like that, no Council vote, no discussion with him... Nothing. Just like that, all the work he had done for the Council, all those endless, sleepless hours of hard work, busting his rear end for this position... And it was gone. Just like that. He couldn't help feeling a little betrayed by this, despite the fact that he knew she was right... A Knight on the Council never should have been. He took a breath and nodded. "Yes, Grandmaster... I understand" he said quietly, trying to hide the heartbreak that showed in his eyes at losing something he had worked so hard for, something he had worked so hard to show that just because he was the Knight on the Council, that he could contribute. He hadn't just worked on the Council because it was his duty though, in the bottom of his heart, he loved doing what he did. Just being a Jedi, he loved doing, and feeling like he was making a difference in the Order this way meant the world to him. But... Perhaps it just wasn't meant, at least not for now, he thought to himself during the pause.

After the pause though, Selena suddenly surprised him with the news that he had been officially promoted to Master rank. He raised an eyebrow, shocked that he was getting promoted right then and there, and it took everything he had to keep a massive smile from crossing the newly minted Jedi Master's face. Suddenly, all of his stresses left him for that moment, as he registered just what was going on. He felt.... Happy. Not just happy, he was overjoyed that he was finally being promoted after his years and years with the Jedi.

"T-Thank you... Grandmaster" he responded, breathing a bit. Josh wasn't normally one to stutter, nerves didn't take him like they were now. But this wasn't any normal circumstance... This was an emotional rollercoaster, and he had been taken aback by the suddenness of all of this.

He listened to the words and looks on the faces of his now fellow Jedi Masters, and he couldn't help a slight smile, before he looked at Selena, flipping the hood off his head and giving a bow in respect. "I'll do my best, I promise you" he said. And he meant every single word of it. While he was overjoyed at being promoted to Jedi Master, he knew that there was more work to be done now that he was a Master... And he knew he would enjoy every second of it.

Despite her usually poised façade, a look of hesitation betrayed her for a flicker of an instant. It was quickly stifled.

She had anticipated news, and her being summoned to have some gravity, but to the point where she was being requested to be a representative of an ancient order, and be erected as a figurehead for light warriors around the galaxy?

When she was a Padawan, she wanted nothing more than for the galaxy to know her name and to be the most powerful Jedi Master the Order had ever seen. After she had been Knighted, she wanted to be a warrior of the light, and a beacon of hope. That burning desire faded through her experiences and trials, to the point where she was almost humble although she was keenly aware that she had earned her title as Master by her unity with The Force. But everyone had a story (granted it probably didn't include Force deities as prisoners).

Being on the High Council would require her to be an exemplar of The Order, and to live by its code indefinitely. Her being a hypocrite would be…detrimental and stumble those who were already vulnerable. And her decisions would effect more than herself, it would have an impact on hundreds, not to mention go down in history.

Oh wait, she already did that.

And the current elect as Grandmaster was a previously exiled Jedi. Surely were politics involved in this; not just The Force as some would passively shrug off. This was a peculiar ordeal, and none of the persons in the room seemed to question it.
Perhaps they had taken the opportunity of the announcement for @[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"]'s promotion to bury their doubtful reflections.

Then again, her being on the High Council could ensure her input on the outcome of The Order and could be directly involved in any decisions made by the Ex-Exile Grandmaster. A curious case indeed. Even curiouser, the suggestion that the Masters in the room sit on the council was buried in a speech; had the others picked up on the offer?
Kiskla glanced in the direction of the clapping sound from @[member="Phylis Alince"], and broke from her train of thought.

Apparently Kiskla was the only person who wasn't in the mood to just agree. Her name, associated with the council could to one of two things

1.Give her otherwise unattainable credibility
2.Make her seem hell-bent on discussions and neutrality.

Traditionally, these councils were selected by unanimous votes. This didn't seem so organized. Perhaps she'd be one of the three limited-time serving masters, considering her youthful age.

But once again, Kiskla's curious nature would overpower any reasonably logical argument, and she would agree to the offer. The insights and participation would be invaluable.

"Once accepting the positions of Council, I would assume there's a first order of business to be discussed considering we're all here together, and you don't seem one to waste time." @[member="Selena Halcyon"] had just been elected Grandmaster, and she was already switching The Order up a bit.

For the better?

The High Council. While a position on it was not long overdue, it was a position he had wished to take on himself for many a year. Too many councillors had made too many... "improper" decisions as of late. As a result, he felt that the standards of Order had dropped as of late. Such a feeling certainly went a long way to explaining the recent departures from the temple. Perhaps with this new position he could work to change that... The thought gave him a modicim of peace. With a potential return to more traditional, firmhanded ways, the Jedi would once again be able to pursue their primary mandate with clarity.

"Grandmaster Halcyon. I accept the appointment, and all the responsibility that such an ancient seat demands."

He paused for a minute, and surveyed the room. He was not entirely familiar with everyone present, yet he was sure he would understand a measure of them during his time upon the council. Still, there was more he intended to say, so he straightened his back to correct his posture, and ran his fingers through his beard.

"While we are all gathered here, I wish to bring up some strong concerns of mine, about certain... "members" of our Order. The first of these so called Jedi, is one Tracyn Ordo. I have heard words, from his own mouth no less, that quite simply go against every teaching I can recall. He speaks of gaining pleasure from shedding the blood of Sith, of wishing to "leave a trail of blood and bodies", and intending to leave them to bleed for days before they pass on into the Force.

I suggest that we issue instructions for mister Ordo to return to the Jedi Order so that he can stand before this Council and answer for his words... And should he fail to answer the summons, I wish to put forward the notion that we, as a Council, not only remove him from the position of Knight, but also exile him from the Order for failing in his duty as a Jedi, failing to honor the Council, and disregarding the teachings of the Jedi Code, so as to serve as an example for the rest of the Jedi.

It is a severe punishment, I know, yet we cannot simply allow the attitude that he has taken and attempted to foster within the Order slide without first ensuring that it does not spread further."

He rested his hands on the back of the chair that he intended to sit upon during council sessions, and made eye contact with each and every one of the Jedi in the room, starting at the newly promoted master, and ending at the Grandmaster herself. Indeed, this was not a subject he intended to have brushed under the carpet - Something had to be done about Tracyn, and forcing the matter to come up was easily the most efficient way to ensure that happened.

"I've already brought him here" Josh quickly said, looking at @[member="Carn Dista"], then @[member="Selena Halcyon"]. "I found out what's been going on. You see, Tracyn is a close friend of mine, been friends ever since I became an Uncle to his son, before said son was kidnapped by the Sith, of course leading to the death, again by the hands of the Sith, of his wife Asha Seren, another close friend of mine" he explained.

"I've known Tracyn awhile, and I've watched him slowly turn into something even I don't recognize ever since Asha died. When I finally had enough, I managed to get in touch with him and arranged to hang out at a local cantina, catch up a bit, as I told him. In reality, while I did want to catch up with an old friend, I did it out of concern for his behavior, and figured perhaps I could get some answers"

"When I got there.... What I saw... Sith Spit, I don't know..." he said, looking down and sighing. "That was the worst I'd ever saw him. Something had obviously overtaken him over the last while, and what I saw was much worse. Just looking at him... He looked like a Sith, almost... He reminded me of something wild, something feral, bloodthirsty and merciless..."

"He attacked me, very quickly, seemingly blinded by the thought that I had possibly slept with his now late wife. I managed to snap him out of it and get him out of there. It was there that I managed to see for a few minutes the Tracyn that I knew, and he told me the truth"

He sighed. "He's infected. With Sith Poison. Sith Knight Circe Savan, or Pandeima... Or whatever the kark you wanna call her... Infected him with Sith Poison and it's slowly been overtaking him. He begged me for help. BEGGED me" he said, gritting his teeth. "I've never seen him beg before. He needs help, Grandmaster... Masters... Not exile. Not punishment. He needs help"

He took a breath. "I brought him here. Detained him, sealed him in a room deep in the Temple so he wouldn't escape and harm others. I had planned on bringing this up in the weekly meeting that was supposed to take place today, before Selena called us here. But... Well, it's out there now"

He fixed up his hair a bit, realizing he'd been absentmindedly pulling at strings of his own hair out of stress as he spoke.

"Point is... He's here. He's being taken care of. But we need to help him. Summon him here to be spoken to if needed, but we need to work on this Sith Poison thing as soon as possible"

“Sith Poison seems the in thing recently,” Phylis murmured. Seemed everyone was getting the old poison pump, from Empresses to Jedi Knights.

Still, there were two very different opinions here. @[member="Carn Dista"] was the sort which could be called Vrook-ish for his determination to punish, control, toe the line of orthodoxy. The Order needed people like that, though Phylis was never quite comfortable around them.
On the other hand the descriptively named @[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"], whom she had just learned the name of through…methods…was entirely different. There was clearly a backstory here, there was more than met the eye.

“Hmm, well, if I might, Masters. I have some experience dealing with Sith poisons and infestations. I would like to examine Jedi Ordo and see if I can determine a way of helping him, and his competency for his own efforts. We must temper justice with mercy if he was not in control of his actions.”

Another question popped up. “You sealed him in a room? I didn’t know we had prison cells here.”

Syn

Nimir-ra to Iella, Jedi Shadow
@[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] @Carn Dista @Kiskla Grayson @Phylis Alince @Selena Halcyon

Syn stood there while Carn spoke of a knight and raised an eyebrow at the name. Only one thought came to his mind Who? He hadn't heard th name or maybe he had in passing. There were a great number of jedi and he didn't meet all of them. In truth he kept to himself and preferred the vagueness of just being a shadow. Now this one man wanted to possibly exile him for killing sith. Something he saw no issue with, perhaps with less enthusiasm sure they didn't need to leave bodies and gore from it but a sith dead was one less person you could be a cancer upon the galaxy. Some were redeemable but some weren't regardless of how hard you tried. Then the reveal from Josh of where he might have known Tracyn made him turn his head.

The thought of Asha Seren being married to someone was new, he had only met her briefly but she had been a model jedi. Her child stolen and life turned upside down but still she had been pretty normal compared to others he had met. Then she first left the order before dying in an explosion. The sith poison made him cringe, it wasn't something wholly useful it wasn't even something that the likes of Circe could make. Then the master Phylis spoke about it and made something of a joke... Maybe but she was right it seemed everyone could create it now and use it. Something special was now as common as a flea on a pet. It was distasteful and he wasn't even sure why. Perhaps because he found the notion that a child could bludgeon something into being and misused it. Perhaps because he found most of the siths plots were as subtle as a brick to the side of the head.

Or perhaps while Phylis brought up she knew somethings about it and prison cells it was because. He really did did the idea of ancient magics the masters could use, rare creations being used like toys. He almost longed for the time when he was a child and there was some honor. Bah it mattered little as he spoke giving a snort. "If Circe Savan could create sith poison it would not be that strong. She is a child flailing her arms wanting to have the galaxy listen and do things her way and threatening to leave if it doesn't. She is not the concern it is the one who actually made it and gave it to her." He remained there a moment and smirk. "If she had made it Tracyn wouldn't be going towards the darkside he would just be humping against everything that had a pulse until it kicked him away. If we want to help counter it a severe shock to him or a wall of light could do it. It would have to be all at once and not left to chance some lingered on."

"Hardly a cell" he corrected to @[member="Phylis Alince"]. "He's not a prisoner, he's a Jedi that needs help. But he's also incredibly dangerous, so at this moment he's in a comfy, pleasant, luxurious room... Or the best we can give by Jedi Temple standards, and the rooms been sealed shut, locked and all precautions taken, along with being heavily guarded"

He looked over at @[member="Syn"] with a smirk. "She probably had some help, knowing Circe... But that also likely means it's not strong enough to be as incurable as Tracyn thinks it is" he said. "Which means that most likely, we can fix this"

Business as usual.

Kiskla had run into Tracyn once in Tython's gardens. He was an unpleasant fellow, and had only confirmed that at the Army of Light's debutant ball. Or, their coming out party. Whatever the event was, there had definitely been some tangible animosity between @[member="Carn Dista"] and the estranged Jedi Knight. It had put a distaste for both of them in her mouth, but she was a mature young woman and could overlook this now, considering the proximity of Carn at this point.

Well. Mostly.

Sith poison hm? Sith alchemy was a whole new ballpark when it came to neutralization. She'd heard about it before, although never encountered it. Tracyn definitely didn't need anymore chemical reactions when it came to his rage -- it was enough that it was fueled by years of being a Mandalorian soldier and losing his wife. All information she'd learned in a very short period of time -- a matter of minutes.

@[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"]'s story was rather sob worthy but she was impartial to any sort of empathy toward the infected Knight. Except, she was totally adversed to Master Dista's suggestion.

"I'm in agreement with you, Masters." Kiskla spoke up, pointedly nodding at the trio of Masters who were gung-ho about the trial of Justice. "I think there should be an opportunity for redemption. Everyone suffers from their past, perhaps with training he can overcome it. He's a defiant fellow in my limited experience with him, but he had to achieve Knight for a reason. That zeal needs to be rekindled." Once again, she looked toward the other Mistress of The Force in the room besides @[member="Selena Halcyon"], and nodded at @[member="Phylis Alince"].

If she was going to be on the High Council, and a representative of The Jedi, she was going to have to exercise as much of her light will as possible. At every opportunity. The idea of having to reconcile with dark molecules made the diety Beyond Shadows recoil with displeasure; which was just another reassurance to the young woman to volunteer her prodigal prowess.

"If you'd like some assistance, I'd like to work with you on this alchemic toxin Master..." she trailed off, realizing that introductions had failed for the qualified individuals. . She chided herself for not being more welcoming and outgoing, but then reminded herself balefully that it really wasn't her place to do so, there was a Grandmaster in the room that prrrroobbbaably should have done the introductions for them.

But they were all grown ups that knew their own names.

Besides the point. Like, really abstract train of thought there, blondie.

At first Phylis wasn't quite sure who the Master next to her was talking to. Was she talking to Phylis...or someone else? She knew @[member="Kiskla Grayson"], but only by sight and not personally. After the awkward silence had lengthened she decided to take the plunge.
"Master Phylis Alince!" she said, offering her hand to the other woman. "I'd be very happy for any help. Sith poison is not to be underestimated. It's not like arsenic or hemlock, it's much more difficult to combat."

Selena Halcyon listened to the council members discuss the issue of Tracyn. It was a topic that Selena had been meaning to bring up actually. Twice she had witnessed his behavior recently but she had lacked any authority to do anything about it due to her exile. Since returning she had certainly put it on her list of things to bring up. It was not the top though, but she had no problem with it coming up now by any stretch of the imagination.

"It is good that you two will handle this, I have faith that you two can more than adequately deal with it." She said, approving of their willingness to get involved. "Takes something off of my list to be sure, as I've seen Tracyn a few times behave absolutely beyond the realms of what a Jedi should. At first I thought it was just his mandalorian heritage, but the news of the poison makes more sense. I saw no report of it though which is troubling, we can't have these kind of things going unreported. However, perhaps that is also a sign of his spirit and wanting to fight it. On Ithor I witnessed him brutally slaughter a darksider enclave, beyond what was even close to being necessary, but afterwards he was like a broken man about it. His desire to not be this way is a good sign for our ability to deal with the poison, for this I am glad as we will likely be needing every Jedi we can possibly have right now."

The last remark hung there for a moment. "As many of you know the Senate has been voting on their new Supreme Chancellor. Votes have closed and the winner is being announced very shortly as Senator Jack Harkness ascends to the office. I have just gotten done speaking with him, or I would have called you here a little earlier." She motioned to the fact that the sun had now completely set, "As I am not too keen on the image of the council first meeting at night, however it was what was given me in the situation. It is rare, possibly may have never happened before, that the Grandmaster and the Supreme Chancellor come into office within such a short time of one another. He asked me to send out Jedi diplomats to most of the existing significant nations in the galaxy, with an emphasis on those member nations of the Axis. The message that they will bring is stern. Do not stand in the way of the Republic. The only nation not reached out to." She paused purposefully. "The Empire. I presume that this senator intends to eventually take action against the Sith. He also seems to want to push the Jedi heavily into fighting against them and freeing us to do what we will against them. I would like to hear opinions on our involvement."

It was strange, when not the Grandmaster Selena pushed heavily to take the fight to the Sith. She still cer tainly wanted to but the gravity of the responsibility of that coming so quickly was something to ponder. She also needed to know where her council stood.
