Wow what a journey this one was.
5 rounds with 29 total duels over
70 days (10 weeks!). That's how long this tournament went on for. When we set out to run a Kaggath tournament we figured it'd be a quick three week affair with maybe 5 or 6 participants. But what a monster it turned into, huh?
Let's look at some numbers:
The Kaggath has
aggregated a total of 808 Posts, which places it at #4 of most replied to PvP events in Chaos. The Annihilation of Tython (2022), the Invasion of Hoth (2017), and the Invasion of Empress Teta (2014) are the only ones beating it out. Many of these events inspired our arenas throughout the event.
Our duelists managed to average 17 posts in their duels over 7 day periods. That's 2.4 posts a day while the duels were going. And beyond that, y'all posted a ton to the main event as well, with the biggest contributors being
Arris Windrun
's
67 total posts to the Kaggath. After that,
Mercy
at 50 posts, and then
Kyric
at 47 posts.
The number of participants was also staggering. There were a total of
90 characters involved in the Kaggath,
31 duelists and 59 non-duelists.
Every major faction had a character involved in this one, too, making it a true board-spanning event. The non-duelist category further breaks down into
33 spectators, 20 sponsors, and 6 panelists.
We saw
2 character deaths this tournament.
Vagabond
and
5-WCH (Switchblade)
. The latter received a unique 1.1 million credit payout provided by
Jerec Asyr
and the Ithorian Foreign Legion fund, paid out to the first dead character's next of kin. Organizer's note: These are rookie numbers, y'all gotta pump those numbers up!
It's to-date the first event to involve a staggering amount of UCs being used. Over the course of the event, we accumulated
a prize pool of 6.540.000 UCs "7. With sponsorships, bribes, and other sources the total
amount of credits involved in this tournament exceeded 11 million! Almost
3 million of that was bribe money!
14 Factory Items were promised to the winner by our sponsors, and
81 items were entered as equipment by our duelists, among those were
64 factory submissions. That brings the total number of factory subs in the prize pool to 78!
Mauve du Vain
and I set out with a small idea of running a tournament PvP event and y'all made it into one of the biggest events on Chaos history. We want to extend our sincerest thanks to everyone who took the time to get involved! This was a massive journey that could not have happened without the entire community coming together for something so cool.
Thank you, and keep your blades sharp for the future
