The Final Battle (OP Dominion of Gehenna)

Rebellious Vanguard
The words rang loud in her ears, but she paid them no mind. The transport was heading toward the homeworld, and the final confrontation with the Bando Gora. Ventasia could easily sense the emotions of the Protectorate soldiers who surrounded her aboard the vessel. Some were excited about the prospect of action. Some were worried that they may be about to draw their last breath at any moment. And some were so terrified that their minds were a complete mess. In all, the soldiers aboard this transport were headed for a catastrophe with this combined mindset. Which was horrible, considering they played a part in what would become her personal plan of attack.

A small sigh escaped her lips as she made one attempt to get all of their minds on track. If this didn't work, then they were all already dead. Except her of course. "Listen up, and hear me well. Your all worried about the wrong things. IN a few short moments, this transport is going to land, and your going to dismount. Your going to stand right in front of the enemy. If your too scared to fight, then you can choose to stand there and die. As a matter of fact, some if not most of you will die. But it'll be caused by your own stupid mistakes. You wanna live? Then focus on what's about to happen, and leave everything else on this transport. That's your best, no. That's your only chance of surviving this. You all are support, but you get no recognition. You wanna be noticed for what you do? Then make them take notice. If not, feel free to stand there and die. I could care less. But you are not gonna jeopardize me or my operation. So, what's it gonna be?"

Her eyes looked up toward the soldiers in front of her, their emotions seemingly calmer. In all honesty, she really didn't care if they died or decided their lives were worth fighting for. Ventasia only needed them alive long enough to create a diversion for her. To land.

“All ships, begin your approach to the planet, the fighters will cover you.”

The Admiral stood on the bridge calmly. Every so often he would give directions. A ship needed to better move in formation, a fighter squadron needed to launch its attack quicker. Mostly he just watched the situation map, letting the coloured icons impart a better view of the battlefield than any window.

“Advance the Triumph. Direct it to fire on sector C8,” he ordered.

When an onslaught of enemy ships overwhelmed one of the cruisers and blew it up, he merely pursed his lips and ordered a fresh ship into the fray.

The Protectorate Fleet was better equipped and more numerous, but their enemies were fighting with suicidal courage. At one stage an enemy frigate, blazing from a dozen fires, rammed a Protectorate heavy cruiser, crippling it in the resultant detonation.

The battle was going well though. Enemy ships were being concentrated on and destroyed.

Then it appeared around the moon of Golgotha. A ship the like of which none of them had ever seen.

Planet_Killer_colour.png

“Dispatch two bomber wings and the Radiant to intercept that new ship,” the Admiral ordered.

Through the flash and danger of the battle the first wave sped down the gravity well to the surface of Gehenna. The battle would be fought on the night side of the planet, as at least then the temperature was merely terrible rather than apocalyptic.

Fortunately it seemed as though the Bando Gora were so surprised by their arrival, and the conditions were too harsh for there to be any surface defences waiting for them. So once the transports were through the storm of flak in the space battle, they were able to land virtually in peace.

However, every soldier needed a full heat and breathing suit for this battle, as to not have one would be deadly in minutes. The gloom of the sky was lit by hellish reflections from the volcanic eruptions and the occasional lance of energy from above. Sensors would also be vital at this point.

Maelion was amongst the first to land, working with @HK-36’s Iron Knights. She wore a protective suit, though mainly because she wasn’t designed to work in temperatures hot enough to boil water.

Before them, the plain of Calvary.

venus-surface.jpg

Vehicles spilled out of transports, modified to dissipate heat. They would carry most of the soldiers across the plains to the entrances to the enemy city.

However, the Bando Gora were not quite ready to yield the landing ground. Monsters and vast creatures had emerged to contest the landing.

Amongst them were vast engines of war, many times taller than a man and bristling with weapons.

The descent upon the surface of Gehenna was hellish. Space was lit up by intense laser and missile fire as the two fleets engaged. A flash of light shot out from the strange alien ship, streaking through space and impacted upon a Malleus-class Star Destroyer. Blinding light enveloped it as the ship exploded into pieces, a fiery explosion blossoming, most beautiful to behold, the alien vessel soon moving to engage another battleship. Starfighters swarmed across the Omega fleet like a host of angry locusts, taking pod shots at them.

Throughout all this the flotilla of dropships advanced, some having already landed upon the hellish surface. Gunships accompanied them in formation, providing covering fire. Siobhan stood stoicly in the cockpit as the dropship carrying her sped towards the yellowy hothouse beneath them, the pilot engaging in wild manoeuvres to shake off missiles and laser fire, the gun turrets spewing out hails of red laser bolts towards incoming fighters and drones racing towards them. A dropship close to them rocked as it was blasted with missiles, then torn to shreds when a suicide drone collided with it, exploding. Anothe dropship was taken out by missile fire and the vessel she was on lurched and rocked as it tried to evade the debris that was being shot its way. As the alien ship shot out its beam once more two Gunships were caught in the blinding flash and ripped apart.

Siobhan remained stoic, though she gripped the beam hanging above her, seemingly unaffected by the mayhem all around her, eyes trained on the hellish surface. Like every soldier she was clad in a full heat and breathing suit, unusually for her wearing a combat helmet for a change. The gloomy sky was lit up by flashes of red from volcanic eruptions. Far away craters and lava could be seen, looking very much like oceans of blood, the crimson with which the Bando Gora sought to coat the Galaxy should their evil not be stopped.

The dropship shook hard as missiles impacted upon it, breaching the shield and she was thrown against the wall hard, the co-pilot knocked his head against the computer interface. She staggered up, training taking over to fight the haze she was threatening to go into. "Stay on course," she barked out. Then her head spun as suddenly the psychic onslaught began anew, striking her with the force of a tidal wave and smashing against it, at the same time hundreds of razor-sharp daggers seemingly slashing at her mind. Images flashed through her mind, of power and desolation, thousands of people marching in perfect unison, carrying their heads in their hands, chanting in the dark tongue. The ring of fire flashed before her eyes, the tentacled, winged monstrosity from years past rising before her eyes. Her mind spun as suddenly it seemed her surroundings shifted and she was somewhere else...on the rack...Shadow's mocking laughter resounded in her head. Then she hit back hard, smashing against the attack and as she regained her bearings she felt a prickling in the Force.

Missiles sped towards the dropship as it swerved to avoid suicide drones racing its way and entered the atmosphere of the planet. Siobhan concentrated, focusing upon the missiles as they shot towards the vessel. For a moment she was calm, blotting everything out, then her powers lashed out and her full force smashed into the missiles speeding towards them, as if she was reaching out to grab them and then violently pushed them away so that they exploded far away. She smiled grimly. The Bando Gora were vermin, they would fall like that. A starfighter sped towards them, laser cannon firing though it was already blazing from multiple impacts, intent on ramming them and stretching out she clenched her fist and grabbed it, pulling it hard so that came into the firing line of the turrets and was torn to shreds.

The earth shook as the dropship landed, the demon engines of war fired from their cannons, every impact causing tremors and forming a crater in the ground. Under heavy fire the dropship descended. "Kerrigan, got heavy Bando Gora armour in landing quadrant Auresh. Need bombers and artillery support. Second wave in quadrant Bek try to flank them. Under heavy fire," she barked into the comm, hailing Anya, who would be transmitting her orders as the landing ramp was lowered. "Move it," she snapped to the troopers, her order being transmitted through the comm to the entire force. "Get e-webs set up and bring out the mortars. AT-SEs and ORLAVs focus fire on the closest war engines." As she said this one of the demon engines advanced and blasted into a dropship, then smashed it to pieces.

As Siobhan raced down the ramp assault vehicles spilled out, already dropships were landing in the contested zones to bring heavy assault vehicles to the front. Bombers surged down from the sky, opening their hatches to unload their payload of bombs. One demon engine was struck and blasted, but its cannon turned a bomber to shreds. Arachnid monsters burst out of the ground, storming towards them, with teeth as big as any man, to be met by a hail of bolter fire and missiles that cut many down, but some got through and the agonised screams were heard as Omegan soldiers were ripped apart. A large creature pounced upon Siobhan and she rolled, trying to dodge it, before its multiple spines grabbed at her legs and its claws dug into her. She gasped for air as it enclosed its spines around her throat, trying to concentrate before her powers conjured up a powerful force blast and summoned a shockwave that thrust it off, throwing it back several metres. As the beastly creature, clearly hurt, recovered and surged towards her she jumped, her lightsabre dazzling to life and swung it, hacking its head off in mid-flight. A gunship was blasted by a powerful beam and she dodged and backpedalled to avoid the debris raining down on her, then raised her hand to grab it all and throw it at high velocity at one of the engines, smashing into it.

Seeking cover behind rocks Omegan troopers set up a defensive position, unleashing a hail of fire from e-webs, bolters and grenade launchers, cutting down the arachnid beasts but doing little against the engines. As armoured support poured out of the dropships Siobhan raced towards a walker, leaping high and jumping in as the hatch opened. The AT-SE advanced forward, slowly, steadily, giving her a good vantage position from which to overlook the battle, taking aim at the enemy. There was a loud boom as the mass driver cannon barked and a shot rang out.

"Under heavy fire, our shields cannot hold much longer," the pilot called out as the dropship sped towards the hellish surface, where all mayhem had broken loose. The ship shook as a suicide drone was blasted to pieces just before it could ram it, though the debris crashed into the cockpit and the shockwave shook it.

"Then go faster," Moira said flatly, paying no attention to his complaints. She felt no fear, it had been burnt out of her, it was not part of her function. They would land and kill their enemies or get blown apart. The dropship swerved and dodged wildly to evade incoming fire. One of the powerful demon engines came into view, its powerful cannon turning and firing a beam, which the dropship narrowly evaded, though the Gunship accompanying it was not so lucky. Bombers roared overhead as they dropped their payload, wiping out a score of monsters in a ball of fire. "Land in that quadrant," Moira said coldly, indicating a crater that would provide some cover. Beneath them infantry and vehicles were already pouring out, more dropships, a true flotilla, were already advancing, about to deliver heavy vehicles. One could see Omegan soldiers bringing forth flamethrowers, spending out streams of flame towards charging arachnids. Then suddenly the whispers began, Moira did not hear them, but one of the soldiers behind her suddenly began to clutch at his forehead, as if trying to blot something out.

You have been sent to your doom
Your leader butchered you at Roche, she will do so again
Safe yourself, it is the only way

Suddenly there was a mad light in his eyes and the soldier raised his boltgun. "No...I won't..." he did not get any further because Moira suddenly spun around with blinding, inhuman speed, blaster pistol in hand and squeezed the trigger. He slumped to the ground, a good chunk of his head fried by the laser bolts. Bam, it was done. He had threatened her, so he was dead. "Thus to anyone who breaks ranks," she said coldly, but it seemed madness had taken root for the pilot suddenly sped ahead towards a Bando Gora fighter, as if on collision course. She ripped him out of the seat and slammed him into a wall, taking control, gripping the controls tightly and yanking the dropship around, accelerating at top speed, evading and speeding such that it would have been torturous for any human. Heavy laser fire and missiles came her way and she evaded, forging a wild path that seemed insane but let all that came shooting towards them hit nothing. They had almost descended when the ship shook as a suicide drone that had locked on them crashed straight into the dropship, as she tried to maintain control a missile hit and the vessel took a dive down. Soldiers were thrust across the ship and then it hit the ground with a loud crash. Fire soon enveloped the entire vessel, a ball of fire forming.

Bando Gora warriors approached the burning craft. Each of them was clad from head to toe in sealed bronze armour, their helmets were horned demonic visages, their eyes seemed to glow red. The armour was alchemically hardened and they wielded powerful blades. One of the arachnids, a mouth full of teeth and with several long spines, approached the burning craft, apparently looking for prey. Then suddenly some of the rubble was violently pushed upward as if someone had smashed against it, making it fly, the arachnid shrieking loudly and evading. A hand, inside the protective coating the skin burnt off so that the metal was clearly visible, grabbed ahold of a piece of rubble, pulling the form upward out of the flames, revealing...the damaged but intact form of Moira. Past the protective suit a large part of her right cheek was covered in burns and the skin had been shorn off, revealing metal, her right eye glowed red. She staggered, seemingly looking confused or trying to recover her bearings. Her HUD flashed as she beheld her welcomers.

Exterminate, exterminate!

The arachnid charged, hitting her with a force that would have crunched bones and trying to grab at her legs, aiming to break them. Instead of trying to dodge she grabbed its spines, yanking them hard and she fell throwing the spider creature with her so that it landed upon the hard rubble. The beast screeched and came at her, all spines and sharp teeth and her hard boot met it. Grabbing a spine she twisted and struck it into its chest. The Uber Reavers charged at her, seeking to corner the killing machine. One of the armoured warriors swung his powerful chainblade at her but she grabbed his arm and twisted so hard it broke then spun him so hard he fell into the flames. Bolts of lightning shot from the fingertips of the next and struck her, making Moira shake and twitch violently as her vulnerable electronics were struck, then a powerful force repulse slammed into her, threatening to toss her into the flames. She rode out the wave and spun in the air, slamming her boots against some of the more undamaged rubble so that she could bounce off. As an Uber Reaver leapt high into the air to strike at her the robot's boot meet his helmet with a crushing force that broke the visor, exposing him to the intense heat so that he would burn. She landed on the ground with her feet, causing a loud thud, rolling under a hard swipe that smashed into her shoulder, grabbing a chunk of debris to smash it into the head of an attacker. Twin blaster pistols were in her hand in a blur and she fired.

As Noah stepped out of the shuttle,he took a moment to make sure his breathing and heat resistance equipment was all properly mounted and took a moment to make sure his helmet was secure as well. When he looked up and saw the utter chaos the battle was,he was shocked of course Noah had fought against the Bando Gora before, but never on a scale of this magnitude. The first thing he noticed was the giant walking war machines that they had deployed to the battlefield. 'I wonder if they have the weaknesses of normal walkers.' Noah inwardly thought. He then looked to his left and saw an ODF trooper about to launch a OPML-1 at one of the hulking behemoths chest. "Hold your fire!" Noah shouted to the trooper, who looked over and turned his head to the side as if he was asking a non-verbal question. Instead of answering,Noah grabbed the launcher and braced himself down on one knee and locked onto the knee of one of the hulking machines. He fired and the missile soared through the air and over the battlefield and impacted on the knee and as soon as it did the machine halted for a few seconds and it appeared that it was favoring one leg over the other. Seeing this,Noah smiled and activated his comm to Exarch Kerrigan. "Exarch, this is Lieutenant Corek,I think I found a weakness in their war engines, tell the ORLAV's,Hoplite's,artillery and other heavy weapons to aim for their leg joints and bring them to the ground and once their down,we can have the gunships and bombers roll in and take them out."

"Acknowledged," Siobhan said laconically in response to @[member="Noah Corek"] as her walker advanced forward, the ground shaking beneath it, a large force of walkers following it as they formed up into formation, trying to keep some distance between them as heavy rounds and laser fire was shot their way. Tremors shook the ground, earth was thrown up and hatches opened as the walkers gorged out troops, infantry taking up position behind rocks. Hails of laser and missile were shot through the air at the advancing arcachnids and armoured Reavers. Screams resounded across the battlefield as beasts were mowed down or soldiers were ripped to pieces.

"Exarch, coming under heavy fire, we're pinned down...those beasts are swarming us....regiment at less than 60% effective combat strength...we must..." her comm blared as one of the regiment commanders from the 65th Brigade, holding position at one of the flanks, yelled through it.

"There will be no retreat. They will not pass. Dig in, air support is on the way," Siobhan said furiously, hitting the comm to hail the command vessel that held @[member="Anya Venari"] just as an artillery round smashed into the ground before her, throwing up dirt. Arachnid beasts charged and as the repeaters blasted away at them leapt up at the cockpit, seeking to tear at the window bevor heavy fire cut them down. "Need more artillery support on the spot now. Some bombers would be nice," she spoke into it, then signalled two platoons of heavy ODF infantry. "Mortars on the mountains at nine o'clock, take the bastards out."

A walker was blasted as the demon engine shot its powerful canon into it, tearing it to shreds. Then suddenly a large chunk of wreckage rose up into the air and was propelled towards them at high velocity. Great, apparently there was someone out there who looked to battering ram things as much as Siobhan did. Her own vehicle shook as a missile hit the hatch from where soldiers would exit, thrusting her and part of the crew against the wall. Her head spun but then she thrust her hand forward and unleashed the power of her mind, catching the incoming debris in a whirlwind to redirect it and make it spin before it crashed into a tank.

"Alright, walkers line up, blast at the demon engines. Hoplites use speed to evade their canons and swarm them. Focus on those closest and concentrate fire on one," The walkers had the heavy firepower with the mass driver canon, though their armour seemed significantly lighter than of the demon engines, as evidenced by the fact that yet another walker was ripped to shreds. By contrast the Hoplites were rather lightly armoured, but had strong shields and were fast, they could perhaps use this to their advantage to evade heavy fire and swarm the enemy demon machines, taking shots at their legs and blast them. Missiles shot through the air the OFAVs pounded the charging enemy forces, deafening explosions resounding through the area, at her command bombers dove in deep and unleashed not conventional bombs but streams of napalm, dropping it on the charging arachnids as they surged forward with sheer viciousness. Some of the retreating Omegan soldiers were caught in the flames as the beasts had cornered them and were ignited, the fire soon killing them. Siobhan heard the agonised screams but blotted them out, war was hell.

"Demon machine locked in the targeting computer, ma'am," the pilot reported. Confirmation came from two other walkers.

"Incoming beasties," the gunner called out as some sort of flying beast, apparently part arachnid, part dragon, swooped down upon them, tearing at one of the walkers with its sharp claws and spitting acid, ripping through the window to impale some of the crew before repeater fire made it fall and it was cut down.

Siobhan gazed coldly upon the battlefield, nodding. "Fire."

There were loud deafening booms, indeed such was the noise one might think there was a powerful earthquake or it might be the trumpets of Jericho, as several mass driver cannons fired as one. One demon engine, then another were hit in the legs and keeled over, smashing into the Reavers and arachnids beneath them and burying them. Another was taken out as the OFAV missiles hit home and bombers joined the fray. "Advance and purify. OFAVs initiate bombardment and provide covering fire," Siobhan had just said these words when suddenly, as her walker advanced, one of the engines, far larger and powerful, charged the walker and smashed into it hard. She was thrown through the cockpit and the walker shook, being pushed back. Chainsaw blades larger than a man ripped through the window of the cockpit, mowing through the wall. The walker shook as one of its legs was blasted by the engine's cannon. Siobhan narrowly avoided getting impaled, her lightsabre looked like a child's toy compared to the heavy blades. The pilot and gunner were not so lucky and were run right through, the computerised interface was wrecked. Gathering her powers she produced a powerful shockwave that smashed into the blades and broke them. She breathed in heavily, pulling herself up as she quickly advanced to the controls.

Then suddenly the walker lurched, she felt a warning in the Force but before she could respond the walker was being pulled up into the air. She sensed the presence of the sorcerer in the engine, her head spun from getting smashed into the wall, blood was streaming down her face, and then there it was again the invisible knives striking at her, the inversion of certain pleasurable techniques she sometimes used in non-family friendly ways. She tried to focus and steel herself, concentrate as the walker was pulled from the ground, one of its legs getting smashed as a missile struck it and thrust towards a mountain behind it. Fighters were engaging in dogfights with the flying abominations, trying to shield the bombers as they dropped napalm on advancing arachnids. As the walker raced through the air she stretched out with her telekinesis...exerting the same sort of force that had torn a roof down...twice. The force that made her move tanks...only this was a lot bigger...but then she already had the momentum from the sorcerer propellling it into the air...so all she had to do was push back and push back she did...violently. The Bando Gora sorcerer embedded in the engine, corrupted and twisted by the dark side so that his features were rotten and mottled, realised the danger and his telekinesis slammed back into the walker, making it spin hard and fast through the air as a whirlwind caught it and tried to slam it back towards the mountain. At the same time the dragon flyers attacked furiously, spitting out acid and mauling at it with their large claws, but Siobhan persevered and so the walker not only advanced forward with a powerful push...but came crashing down.

Right on top of the demon engine. It smashed right into it with full, battering ramming force.

Siobhan was thrown out as the vehicles crashed together, just when a dragon creature would have poured acid at her.

She was falling...the ground was coming so close...then suddenly she shot up...high into the air...gaining in altitude at great speed, looking a bit incredulous herself as she flew. She was flying and advancing towards the enemy hordes storming towards them, the Reavers and arachnids looked so small to her now as the ground vanished beneath her. Blaster shots and some missiles came her way, but she surged ever upward, while trying to get her earpiece to work. Screams of pain from men and beasts, the sound of explosions and the ground being smashed...she felt at home.

Nyos disembarked from the shuttle that ferried him to hell. He looked out over the battle as it raged, and saw a missile scream towards their craft. Nyos screamed, Hard left, I'm bailing out, see you on the ground guys. He lept out of the craft, drew his vibrosaber and gained speed as the ground came close. As he neared, a Bando fighter had picked that moment to fly in a path that would intersect his decent, Nyos flung his blade down on the fighter, bisecting it as he continued on his way to the ground. After a few moments, he landed smack dab on a Bando Goliath. He crushed it's skull and shot its spine through its back side. Having made his entrance, He went to work on clearing a path for the incoming shuttles to land. He slid off the dying creatures body, rolled into the horde around the massive corpse, He sliced, cut, slashed and bashed every Reaver that came too close. He started to create a perimeter with bodies as he worked his blade through flesh and bone and armor and hellfire.
Lady Kerrigan, I have carved out a landing zone in sector D5, allocate incoming forces to my location, I'll hold them off as long as I can.

The shuttle carrying Miles had made it down to the ground with relative ease. He moved out into the orange haze of the hellish world of the Reavers. He shot, ran, shot, etc. His squad was tasked with creating a place to land other dropships and carriers. He was precise and calm with each target he took down. Miles watched a few men go down in a spray of blood and echoes of cries that never seemed to fade. Another dropship touched down and unloaded its lethal cargo into the maelstrom. Miles paused to reload when he saw a woman arc into the air effortlessly, but her altitude had reached its apex, and she was curving down again, Hold this line with every last breath, I'll be right back!

Miles activated his jetpack and tore into the air like a missile on an intercept course with the woman, one of the Reaver machines reached up to catch Miles mid-flight, but he evaded and tossed a pair of thermals in rebuttal to the attempt. A twin pair of explosions detailed the effectiveness of the devivces as the towering machine toppled down onto it's allies, and further added an eruption from the fuel cells detonating from corruption to their housing units. Miles reached the woman in the air, with an outstretched hand, Ma'am, need a lift?

@[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]

@[member="Miles Varden"], @[member="Anya Venari"]

"No. Now go and get the Reavers," she responded indifferently. Contrary to what Miles might be thinking, Siobhan was not curving down and did not need a lift. Indeed she shot upward as he came close to her, the Force propelling her. She was a telekinesis master, her entire skill set consisted of picking up very heavy objects and throwing them, such as tanks - with her mind. Sometimes she tore down roofs. While she was still in the building. She was most certainly a bit nuts, but also an Exarch, meaning the one in charge of all this.

As she shot up in the she stretched out with her powers, unleashing a blast of telekinesis that sent several of the arachnids and Reavers below sprawling across the ground before her. One of the arachnids was picked up and raised into the air to be smashed onto the ground. A missile aimed for a walker was intercepted by a force push and slammed back. Beneath there was mayhem. A Hoplite tank was all but crushed by one of the demon machines when it stepped on it, when the crew tried to escape monsters pounced and ripped them apart, another tank was blasted by a blaster beam and the shield overheated as the tank was knocked across the field and crashed into debris, crippling it. The field was littered with corpses and wreckage from both sides and still the monsters advanced with suicidal courage.

"Anya, what's the status on reinforcements? Punching a bit of a hole in the Bando Gora armour. Their left flank seems to be faltering slightly, but they're pouring in more machines and monsters. Our centre's taking high casualties. Their force is so densely packed together. I think it's time to test out 'Kerrigan's organ'. Saturation bombardment. And give 'em a full-on air strike. We move in after and catch them when they're done."

HK-36

The Iron Lord Protector (Neutral Good)
@[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]
Meanwhile!
The Iron Company was just finishing up landing its troops in one of the relatively safe LZ's, immediately setting up a perimeter to defend against the onslaught of Reavers and Arachnids, heavy repeater emplacements were quickly fortified as the enemy would not waste in initiating their attacks.
Before the soldiers knew it, the first arachnids began moving over the fiery hills and caves and towards them, their guns began singing as squeals and yells of the enemy dying echoed through the planet's surface.
"Stand fast, soldiers! We will see through the night! Grip your bolter, spread the light, and it will be alright!"
There was a screech then heard as a rather large and rather pissed off arachnid began charging towards their positions. HK pushed his dark grey cloak behind him and his large metal claws extended from his feet. Oh it was on.
He charged towards the beast with a valorous yell as he pounced at the creature. The arachnid attempted to strike at HK with its large members, the droid grabbed them, digging his claws into the hard soil as he wrestled the monster. The two of them pushed on each other, seemingly at an impass as they struggled to overcome the other. It was then that HK had an idea, from his forearm plate moved as the dual barrels of his wrist-repeater showed and he quickly fired a barrage at the arachnid's abdomen. The creature squealed as HK used this moment to his advantage, smashing it to the side onto its spider back, aiming down his wrist at the creature's head as with another burst he finished it off.
He looked out towards the horizon, armies of darkness were quickly gathering and moving on towards them. HK sent out a transmission to Kerrigan, they had to be fast to begin moving their forces,
"Matron Colonel Kerrigan? My forces have landed and grouped, we are waiting for armored support to arrive, what are our first orders?"
He paused, looking out towards the advancing arachnids once more
"There is more crabs here than on Circe's loins."
He commented to Kerrigan

War was hell, so the old saying went. Admittedly one could say that at this point they were in hell, fighting beasts as vile and depraved as the Kar'zun, abominations that were a strange mix of organic and droid, had risen from the depths of the abyss slaughter them or drag them down into the fiery pit, like monsters out of old Eldorai myths. Corporal Kaida Taldir's company was right in the thick of things, having set up defensive positions in a long crater and along rocks along with ODF infantry. The earth was shaken by violent tremors as tanks advanced or were blown apart, debris flying in all directions. Kaida winced as a demon engine crushed a Hoplite beneath it before being pounded by bombers. Above them bombers roared, swooping down like angels of death.

Before them lay the no man's land like out of wars of old and so the troopers formed a firing line, a phalanx of bolters, e-webs and grenade launchers as hordes of feral Reavers and arachnids charged them. These Reavers were fast, terribly fast, their wild shrieks and chanting was terrible to behold. Easily cut down by bolter fire as they were, they came from all directions, some columns trying to flank the defending Omega soldiers. And the arachnids were large and terrible, seemingly impervious to anything less than a full-on bombardment. A soldier right next to Kaida cried out in pain as suddenly one of the spider creatures spat a full-on salvoe of acid, burning right through the protective suit so that the soldier was exposed to the deadly heat and burnt up within seconds.

"First line fall back," the captain called out as the arachnids came in close and smashed into the soldiers, their spines grabbing and pulling them into the air, strangulating or impaling them. "Second line, light 'em up with flamethrowers and grenades. There will be no retreat." Feral Reavers pounced at Kaida and she called on the Force to dodge them, rolling under a vicious blow with a mace that smashed into the ground, before swinging her dazzling yellow lightsabre to cleave the beast in half, then chop the second's arm off. But even so the creature was so demented that it charged and the mace smashed into her left arm, deadening it so that she fell. The creature pounced upon her and she felt its sharp claws tearing at her armour, trying to rip it apart, before suddenly the Reaver was blown off as blaster fire from a comrade hit it. Wasting no time she surged up and gave it a kick in the face, then ran her lightsabre through its throat. Grabbing one of her wounded comrades by the shoulder she quickly ran as more Reavers and arachnids charged. Sorcerers advanced behind the fleeing troopers, raising their hands to unleash bolts of lightning, frying some. Kaida brought up her sabre in a defensive position, managing to capture some of the lightning upon it and reflect it, though she winced and shook as some leapt past and burnt into her. With her telekinesis she grabbed two comrades about to be speared and violently thrust them back. The field was strewn with the carcasses of arachnids, corpses of Omegan soldiers and Reavers, often lying on top of one another.

"Get out of the firing line, artillery support is incoming," the captain had to yell to make himself heard over the mayhem. Right, we've heard that a long time ago, Kaida thought cynically as she tried to focus, grabbing a missile launcher from a dead cormade as she ran. Then suddenly the captaint cried out as he was pulled into the air and violently pulled towards the eager maw of an arachnid, a Bando Gora sorcerer evidently being among the attackers. "Give 'em hell, boys!" Just as he was about to fall into the beast's huge mouth he plucked free a thermal detonator and tossed it right into it, a massive explosion blowing both apart as chunks of flesh and armour flew across the field.

"Form up line and fire, short controlled bursts. Aim for the head of the beasts. Repeater troopers, focus on the Reavers," the heavily scarred Zabrak sergeant from earlier yelled at them, herself plucking an anti-force user grenade loaded with gas free from her gear vest. "Taldir, now might be a good time for your cryomaniacs. No pressure, girl. But all the beasts are waiting for the big show!" she barked out, pulling the pin of the grenade and tossing it into the fray. A Bando Gora sorceress lashed out with telekinesis in an attempt to push it away, but then the fuse system with built-in accelerometer kicked in and the deadly ball detonated. A thick cloud of gas rose up into the sky, spreading for several metres, leaving sorcerers lying on the ground and coughing violently as they were disorientated.

"Fire, lads, don't waste time. Burn the witches, purge the unclean, destroy the heretic!" the obviously slightly crazy Sergeant called out, signalling to the ODF Lieutenant, whose trooops soon fired upon the helpless mages with brutal force. "Present witch company of course excluded. We do sorta like her. Even if she's taking her wee time!"

"Kind of difficult to make hell freeze other, ma'am," Kaida called back, loading a fire and forget missile and taking aim at the sorcerers, waiting until the target had been locked into the guidance system and firing. Powered by the fuse system the missile travelled through the air at high speed and detonated, blasting them apart and sending flesh flying through the air. Bolters and repeater fire blazed a fiery trail across the land. She let out a triumphant war cry when suddenly the earth beneath her shook and an arachnid pounced out. She was caught by surprise, a comrade charging at it with a vibroblade was simply impaled by its sharp spines and then the beast smashed into her, sending her flying straight into a crater before it pounced, apparently ignoring the countless bolts being fired its way. More monsters burst out the ground and engaged soldiers, viciously mauling at them. Her lightsabre flew into her hand and she cut off appendages, viciously and desperately slashing, jumping when the beast came close but her legs were grabbed and she was slammed down on her stomach. She breathed heavily as she heard the loud crunch, quite certain that something had been broken. Then the beast was upon her and its spines enclosed around her throat. She felt the oxygen fail to reach her lungs and her vision turned black, then instinctively she wrapped her hands around the spines and pushed all her Sciia into it, channeling her powers of cold into it. Frost peals appeared on the spines, which soon hardened into cold frost. The creature screeched then as she applied more pressure the spines burst and shattered and she broke free. In the same moment heavy repeater fire peppered the beast and it fell. "See, it's not that difficult, girl," the Sergeant spoke up.

"No...no, it's not," Kaida muttered, trying to catch her breath and focusing as she gazed upon the battlefield, the charging beasts. Drawing on her powers in such an environment was...difficult but nonetheless she forced herself to concentrate, willing the moisture in the air to turn cold. Exertion was written over her, it took all her concentration, but then suddenly a powerful wind swept through the field. "Modulate your suits, it's about to get...very cold!" she cried out. Her skin turned frosty, more than ever, and then cloud seemed to break and the ice started to fall. First in small shards and iciles that cut into their enemies like daggers, though the arachnids seemed to Keep coming nonetheless, then as she focused upon them they hardened into blocks of ice, falling down like improvised volleys and smashing into them. Arachnid beasts were caught in the volley as ice shards struck them, soon hardening and closing in to effectively encase them in ice as they were peppered, others slipped. Kaida breathed heavily, it was so hot out here that maintaining and unleashing her inner cold, not to mention bending the elements to her will, was painful, but at the same time the beasts would not be prepared for it and so fall the ice did. Many of the icicles were intercepted as Bando Gora sorcerers, realising the danger, raised their hands and blasted them apart with bolts of lightning, causing them to turn to liquid and soon burn up on the ground. Kaida had dropped to the ground from the exertion but with an act of will managed to focus on the water, which was rapidly boiling up as the ice melted, and sent it crashing towards the storming hordes into a wave.

In the same moment there was a loud, deafening sound that resembled a church organ, or rather a dozen of them. Missiles travelling at high speed flew through the air and smashed into no man's land, clouds of gas rising up, nerve gas. "Kerrigan's Organ, boys and girls!" the Sergeant cried out happily. "Now let's add to the music. Get ready to charge once the barrage is over." Kaida got up, shaking strongly, before them a hail of missiles was smashing into the ground, some loaded with explosives that tore up the earth, others releasing gas. Then suddenly she looked in alarm when she saw mechs advancing, apparently heedless of the fire, one was blasted and exploded as missiles smashed into it, another raised a giant cannon and fire, grenades shooting out, the elf being caught in the shockwave and being slammed across the trench into a crater. Missiles and shards of ice continued to fall, boiling water crashed across the field, pure chaos raged. She got up, then the signal and the charge as another mech was blown to pieces by a missile strike. Droplets of water began to form on the cryomancer's hands, then a blast of hail and sharp icicles shot out to embed itself right in the head of an arachnid pouncing towards her to escape the bombardment.

Apparently Moira had crashed quite a bit further away from the designated landing zone. It also seemed that no one else in the dropship had survived the crash. Likewise in the accompanying gunship whose wreckage she discovered some sixty metres away. This was unfortunate because she could have used minions to throw against the enemy. Only conflict and war gave organic beings a purpose. Peacetime was spent by them with trivialities, such as complaining about how low their salary was, watching repetive holovid shows and angsting about their love lives or annoying her with their oversexedness. No, this writer is not at all using this opportunity to mock their main character. The gentle reader can be assured that this is a quality and as such will have actual content.

The plain of Calvary was a vast, hellish wasteland. The gloomy sky was lit up by the hellish reflections from volcanic eruptions and flashes of laser fire. The ground beneath her shook intensely and was hit by tremors as artillery and tank cannons thundered, demon engines advanced, every step making the ground tremble with great force. In the distance agonised screams and cries of organics were heard, perhaps of Omegan troopers, perhaps of Reavers, wild screeches of arachnids as they burst out of the ground to pounce upon their soon to be buffet and tear it to shreds. It was all rather meaningless and not particularly dramatic to Moira, she had been created as a weapon meant to kill. Her Creators...still elusive...still hidden from her...but that would change one day.

When that day came she would murder them all.

Judging by the intense fire she was getting closer to the Omegan ranks. The plains were filled with Reavers but they died easily when she did not evade them. There were no shadows to hide in, but she seemed to have the ability to materialise out of nowhere, as she made no sound when she moved. Useful traits for a terrorist...assassin...as a certain Reaver discovered when she, after silently dropping down from a rock, locked her arm around his throat and then with a snap his throat was crushed. His heavy armour was meaningless, as was his struggle and so the creature slumped to the ground dead. Another statistic.

There was a loud and distinctive whoosh and missiles rose into the air, their target a heavy dropship descending from the sky. Moira halted, tracking the target as she went through various vision modes, homing in on a high mountain, watching impassively as the dropship sought to desperately evade the hail, going through wild manoeuvres to shake them off, before it was struck and took a fast nose-dive, crashing into the ground, flames spreading throughout the craft. Surviving soldiers - evidently the crash had not killed everyone - quickly tried to evacuate. An Eldorai cryomancer unleashed his powers upon soldiers ignited by the flames, sprinkling them with cold droplets and then a full of volley of water to save them from a fiery death. Soldiers raced out, then the dropship exploded and debris fell across the land. It did not take long for arachnids to burst out of the ground, all teeth and spines, and pounce upon them. Bolter and heavy laser fire was the response, limbs flew, soldiers were ripped apart.

Moira could have helped them in their valiant struggle, she saw Reavers join the fray, but she had other things to do. Namely take out the missile tank. The troopers made for a good distraction and so instead she started scaling up the cliffs as she snuck past, not making. The cliffs were a formidable obstable, but climbing like a spider Moira made her way up, not flinching as another hailstorm shot out and downed an Avenger bomber, sending it crashing down to a fiery death as a blossoming explosion consumed it. The tireless metal of a Terminatrix allowed her to make the ascent and scale up, soon pulling herself up the boiling hot rocks. Producing a periscope she ascertained that none of the Reavers were looking in her direction.

Further away from the missile tank, a number of captives were bound and harnessed. A Bando Gora priest, clad in bronze armour and with the Mark of Chaos emblazoned upon his helmet, holding a staff, motioned to a few Reavers and they tore up the protective suits shielding the prisoners. "Great Ones, I beseech you, accept these humble tokens from your unworthy slaves. We exist because you allow it and we will end because you demand it. All life exists to serve you. We reveal our inmost face before the Dark Side. Every True Believer who dies shall be welcomed at the side of the Gods!"

Screams were heard as within moments the captives were burning up and incinerated by the hellish sun, turning to ashes. "So say we all! So say we all! The Gods are great!" the cultists cried out. Another volley of missiles from the two tanks shot out, targeting dropships, in this moment Moira surged into action, quickly moving forward as they chanted. A Reaver getting close to her was taking out by a silenced round from a shattergun in the vulnerable place between his neck and his shoulder, another who lunged at her was taken out when she grabbed his arm and broke it, then crushed his throat. She reached into her pouch and produced a baradium det-pack, affixing it to a missile tank and activating a timer, then quickly moved away. But suddenly as she was getting in clear, as the chanting intensified, she was suddenly grabbed by the throat from behind, roughly picked up and slammed into the hard ground.

Above her stood a creature that seemed to have sprang out of the old myths of Artam, undoubtedly the product of Sith alchemy It seemed made of pure rock, only its eyes were made of flesh. Horns sprouted from its head, and its eyes glowed like molten lava, when it came to height it towered over her by far, making her look small. She swung a hard punch at it, enough to break the bones of an organic, but it blocked it and grabbed her by the throat, enclosing its hard grip around it. A human would have been crushed right about now, but fortunately she did not breathe and so as the beast tried to choke and slammed her towards the tank, smashing her onto it with such force the ground so that it was shaken by a small tremor, she rammed her knee into his chest with a force that would break ribs, then as he was knocked back she enclosed her leg around his and grabbed his arm with both hands, flinging him over herself. She gave him no reprieve as he lay there, for her knife was in her hand and she dashed at him. He brought up his arm to smash his fist towards her face but she plunged the knife straight into his left eye, the only vulnerable spot, running it right through and ramming it into it.

The beast roared loudly and enraged he grabbed her arm and twisted hard as he wrenched it forward, the killing robot struggled in his iron grip, punching him in the face, but he was unrelenting and there was a loud crack, then her arm was ripped off and fell to the ground. He looked triumphant, baring sharp teeth, but as he lunged at her she jumped and rammed her legs into his chest. He was thrown back hard then came at her again, she failed to parry and he smashed his fist into her face, but then as he swung another attack she dodged, grabbing one his horns and at the same time punching him in the chest she pulled so hard it came undone, clubbing him over with it and then rammed it into his remaining eye. The beast tumbled down, punching wildly but blind now and so she stormed forward, running and leapt on top of it. By luck its fist met her chest but she enclosed her legs around his throat and twisted hard, snapping it.

The commotion had alerted the cultists and from everywhere Reavers and armoured cultists stormed towards her, arachnids burst from the ground as she stood there. Her eyes flashed as she looked at the tank then ran. The timer counted down to zero and a shockwave tore through the cliff as the vehicles exploded and debris flew in all directions, fire spreading. The shockwave caught her and slammed her back, the killing machine riding it out and bouncing off some cliffs, controlling her fall as the fires consumed the Bando Gora.

Siobhan grumbled to herself about being called 'Matron Colonel'. Yes, now she suddenly wanted to be called by her actual rank as Exarch! Hopefully it would not go to her head. Likewise it would be tremendously awkward if she flew too close to the sun, got her wax melted and dorwned like Icarus. Well, there was no river she could drown in, though she might fall into lava, for she was still high in the air, speeding up and flying towards her foes. Far as she was concerned it offered her a very good vantage point from which to overlook the chaos of battle. Whether this was the best command and control position was another question. Missiles were dodged or intercepted, though the strain was getting visible on her. With a wave she loosened a pile of rocks and sent them flying towards a particularly large and vicious arachnid. Her HUD alerted her that more dropships were landing and heavy assault vehicles and tanks were piling out, and she directed them to attack. The centre was being badly mauled by the relentless demon engines, it seemed to take several tanks to kill one.

"Know a lot about Circe's loins, do you? Her droidekas were fun to smash," she commented wryly before turning serious. "Landing zones Auresh is getting a dogpile of big crabs and demon machines. Armour is on the way. Get your men saddled up and get over here Get any armour and anti-tank troops you have to bombard their machines, bladesmen and bolter troopers mow the spiders down..." no sooner had she spoken these words than suddenly she felt a prickling in the Force and suddenly something smashed right into her and she reeled, flying at high velocity backwards through the air. Before her was a large flying beast, with powerful teeth and flapping wings, as it opened its mouth it spat out a volley of acid which she narrowly dodged, then suddenly a host of worm creatures spewed out its mouth and came at her. Siobhan managed to pull herself up before she collided with a Gunship but as the volley fired from the flying monstrosity struck it the acid began to eat through its armour.

She lashed out with a telekinetic blast against the worm creatures, which detonated explosively, then suddenly the beast was upon her and she was captured in its claws, tearing at her armour, she grit her teeth as acid hit it and started burning, she bit down on her tongue to suppress a scream. Captured in its claws she was propelled towards its maw, then with telekinesis two grenades were in her grasp and her mind guided them towards the maw. Realising the danger the flying beast released its grip and pulled up, she drew on the Force to take a dive down as the explosives detonated, the shockwave knocking her back down very far before she regained control. In the same moment the flying beast came down racing for her, its maw wide open and its teeth aiming to devour her. Her mind grabbed a chunk of rocks from a mountain and she thrust it towards the beast, which dodged, but then she surged up as if flying straight into its mouth, then at the last moment pulled down as its fangs threatened to enclose her and acid spewed at her, then surged sideways and pulled up too fast for it to swallow her to hack at its wings. Its claws tore into her but she persisted, chopping off one wing. Its teeth viciously but into her arm and she cried and her lightsabre fell out of her grasp, then her mind sent the wing striking into the beast's mouth. The beast gave a last shriek before its own wing emerged on the other side, then tumbled down to smash onto the ground, dead.

"They also have flying beasts and bugs bursting out of the ground," she spoke into her comm, breathing heavily as she tried to maintain balance, it felt like some ribs had been broken, breathing came more difficult to her. For a while she was falling before she finally managed to regain her balance.

Her armour was clearly damaged, the acid had left burns. A gesture made her lightsabre fly back into her hand just before it could hit a hard rock. "We're bombing with artillery, then advancing and smashing them." Finally she had gotten confirmation that the rocket launchers were landing, she pressed a button on her comm, alerting advanced units to pull back, mass driver cannon fire from AT-SEs covering their retreat, though a great many would be mauled by the demon machines and arachnids. It was time for the great bombardment to begin, in the aftermath of which the forces would advance, pressing onwards towards victory, even if it meant walking over the corpses of their comrades. The Bando Gora were about to experience overwhelmning firepower.

Nyos continued to widen an area along with the shuttle full of troops, they pressed back with all their might, the the horde outnumbered them 20-1. The situation was becoming worse by the second and more soldiers fell to the claws, teeth, blasters and blades. So Nyos called in an air strike and popped smoke. He called for the troops to tighten up the ranks to minimize possible friendly fire from the strike, and then a scream of powerful engines tore overhead followed by a massive explosion, and flash of heat from a bomb hitting only meters away into the horde. A sizable gap appeared where the bomb detonated, and the troops filled the area with fire to clear another LZ for reinforcements.

"Push forward men, their flank has been weakened. We will burn this world and all the evil it bears!"

"As you wish Lady @[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]."

Miles stayed in the air and preformed a 'Rain of Fire' maneuver developed by the Mandalorians. He fired full auto down on the scorn of the galaxy and watched as many fell to the torrent of bolts. Miles dropped another thermal detonator and moved back to the squad he came to hell with. He landed back in file and resumed tearing into the mass of flesh coming at them to tear their hearts from their chests.

"Hold the line!! We need to establish a more stable perimeter, everyone toss a thermal straight out, and heavy weapons move to my location, we have a tank rolling up on us! Pilot, call for a shuttle to land here. We need back up!"

Battle was joined, and everywhere there was chaos, death, war.

Anya had landed behind the lines in the mobile command ship, directing reinforcements and fire. Hearing of Siobhan's onslaught and the enemy attack, she instantly was at work coordinating. The map of the battlefield revealed the enemy was concentrated, driving at the landing Protectorate troops. @[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]'s suggestion about bombardment did not go astray.
"Silver Three, Four, Six, strafing run in sector eight-four." She knew as she gave this order that she was sending most of these pilots to their death. Still, it had to be done. As the ground attack fighters swept in, strafing and bombing, they forced the enemy to reveal their AA positions. Missiles and rockets sped into the sky, taking out several fighters, all of which replied in kind, flattening to AA nests.
"Hammer One, Five, Six, full attack in sectors seven-four and eight-four," she ordered. Now it was time for the big guns. Inimicas, powerful and deadly, swept in. Thirty-six heavy gunships launched their bombing run. Several fell to enemy fire, but the rest unleashed full payloads.
gazafire432.jpg

The results were devastating. Bando Gora, reavers, monsters and daemon engines were torn apart in a fury of detonations. In their wake there was what seemed like a moment of silence over the battlefield.

"Maelstrom eighteen, twenty-six and twenty-nine, prepare barrage. Fire for effect, sector seven-three and six-three. Full power."
_615781_art300.jpg

The Typhoon was a very new thing, a multiple missile launcher mounted on a mobile vehicle. With sixteen high explosive missiles a battery could blanket a square kilometre in high explosive, and now with three batteries firing, the torrent of explosives tore into the enemy, driving them back.

"Exarch, do you copy? Third Battalion, Omega Pyre is landing near Landing Zone Auresh. More reinforcements are incoming."
Anya looked at the map. This was a battle the Reavers could not win. Faced with air and support superiority, they would be mauled. It was key to inflict damage on as many as possible while they were trapped in the open before they could go underground.

Rebellious Vanguard
"We're on ground in 3 mikes!" The pilot of the transport called back towards the soldiers. It was do or die time for these men and women. Truthfully, she didn't except more than a handful to leave this battle anyway. Yet, it seemed her earlier words had sparked something in them. Each of them seemed to have an intense focus in their eyes. The likes of which Ventasia herself hadn't seen in them before. It almost put a smile on her face. Almost. Maybe these morons actually had a chance at living after all. Or maybe they'd simply end up serving as her distraction. She cleared her throat to gain the attention of the soldiers once more, delving them their final instructions. "Once we touch down, heavy gunners and grenadiers immediately start pushing forward and laying down fire cover fire for the main push. Try not to hit anyone that looks like us. Designated marksmen, keep some distance between yourself and the heavy fire. That way you have space to put your sights on the enemy. Snipers, since there's only 3 of you, find some cover and start picking these bastards off. Any question? Complaints? Gripes? Moans? Comments? If so, I don't care keep them to yourself."

She looked about at the group of soldiers who were about to step into the devil's playground. Hopefully, they had fun. "Landing in 3! 2! 1!" The transport made contact with the ground as the doors opened and the Protectorate soldiers began spilling out onto the battlefield. They wasted no time, putting the plan into action immediately. It was good to see them, but she certainly wasn't going to make herself a target. Not yet at least. "Pilot! Get this thing in the air! I want it high enough that we won't be targeted, but low enough not to interfere with any incoming air assaults! Preferably circling the outskirts of the fight!"

"Roger, LT!"

And with that, transport began to lift off. Ventasia wished the soldiers that were just with her the best, but she wasn't going sit around and watch someone else do there job. Or watch them get slaughtered. Which ever was going to occur. No. She had her own agenda. The question now was how to go about it. She pondered for a moment before opening her comm. There was one person she needed to make contact with. "Any high ranking ODF officials on this freq? This is Ventasia Terana. Omega Strike Force. Can anyone read me?"

Ropo Lord of Hoth | Supreme Comandante General
And so the battle began. Of course his only informing of that fact came when the ship shook after it was fired upon, abruptly ending his walk around the rim of the holoprojector. Rather the shaking caught him to lose his balance as he toppled over and rolled into the round dish shaped basin of the projector. Landing on his back as he looked up at the ceiling, his little feet kicking in the air as he attempted to get up.

"Roll. Roll. Roll. Fight."

He voiced out as he rolled over before pushing himself up. Looking at the rim of the projector before he managed to just barely pull himself out of it. As he steadied himself against the ship shaking once more he looked up at a crew member whom was about to rush by before his hat sounded out. His little arms attempting to reach into the air as they seemed to shake. Though Lilicky also figured it would help him if he hopped up and down with a small bounce as he spoke out.

"Up. To Bridge."

His little hat said as the crew member seemed to be a bit shocked. Though it wasn't long before the ship shook again and caused Lilicky to roll back down into the basin of the projector. Sighing heavily with a murp as he began to roll back and forth; he felt the hands of the young woman lift him out of the basin before carrying the little Ropo to the bridge. His little feet lightly kicking in the air as his arms seemed to wavy a little. Almost like he was ordering the crew around as he shook his hand at one of the members before he pointed to a console filled with blinking buttons, dials and all manners of brightly flashing things. Looking up at the crew member, though at this time Lilicky's tongue was hanging out a bit more as if he were enjoying the breeze that was coming from the crew members rushing him to the bridge; he motioned.

"Down."

He said as the crew member set Lilicky down on to the console. At that moment though Lilicky didn't realize that it was a gunners station as he looked out of the view port. His big glimmering eyes caught something though. A glint of a ship that was rapidly coming upon them as he looked around. Seeing no one in near he resolved to do his duty; protect the ship. Without a thought he jumped onto one of the buttons, though it didn't seem to do much. A second jump brought up what would appear to be information. Lilicky though wasn't paying attention to any of these, rather his attention was captured. His eyes focused upon the button. The big red blinking flashing button that was calling to him. As he rushed to push the button it happened as it always does. He tripped over his tongue, his little face smacking against the red button as his weight pushed the button.

Without knowing it; and as he recovered, Lilicky had fired off a barrage of Turbolaser cannons. Looking up just in time to see the enemy ship that had been heading straight for the vessel burst into a brilliant explosion. Lilicky looked around with excitement as he jumped up and down, though this time he seemed to slip one of the buttons rather than press it down; causing him to roll down the console and land in the gunners seat with a heavy 'umph.'

A blazing inferno was unleashed upon the Bando Gora, monsters and demon machines as the missiles shot across the battlefield, the barrage sounding like church organs. The minions of the Blood Gods melted before the onslaught much like snow before a hot sun going supernova, the magnificient desolation was glorious to behold, the gloomy sky lit up by the flashes of glorious explosions. Machines were torn apart by the explosions and parts thrown into the air, being hurled across the battlefield, combined with the onslaught by the Inimicas large craters were blown into the earth and fires spread across the boiling hot ground, consuming Reavers and arachnids that were unlucky enough to get in the way. The Bando Gora had called down thunder and now reaped the whirlwind.

They were faced with a will just as intent upon destruction as theirs - intent upon their annihilation - and far more professional in carrying out. The Omega forces not bring giant demons and machines of evil to the front, but they had devastating firepower. If Siobhan ever had such a thing as a coherent military doctrine she called her own, then it was to battering ram the enemy into submission through shock and awe.

From high up in the air, looking down upon the dead, both Reaver and Omegan, the destroyed machines, the blasted earth where deep holes had been shot in, the wreckage of fighters and tanks, she saw that destruction had beern wrought and found that it was good. Billowing clouds of smoke rose up into the sky. "Acknowledged. Excellent work, @[member="Anya Venari"] Commence assault now. We punched a hole in, now let's smash and hit them hard while they're weak." She could see that the enemy was already pulling its war engines back, no doubt heading for the caverns. It was vital to hit them as hard possible to hit them as hard as possible before they were able to go underground, for there, in the massive, labyrinthine cities the Bando Gora would have the advantage over them. Bando Gora infantry was digging, the newly formed craters providing defensive positions as trenches, no doubt many of the arachnids had burrowed deep into the hot ground as the bombardment began, ready to pounce. The field was choked with debris, broken vehicles and the dead. Omegan, Bando Gora, Reaver, the corpses lay sprawled and twisted among the wreckage and craters, some killed by shrapnel, others scorched to the bone by searing flames. The scent of death filled the air and hung over all like a pall and the burn marks of countless munitions further scorched the boiling hot ground.

"27th and 65th ODF and 1st OP advance. No stop until we are at the tunnel. General Rokossovsky," this was the commander of the 41st Armoured Brigade, which should soon be supplemented by reinforcements, deploy armoured battalions to pincer them and roll up their flanks. We will capture them between our forces. Focus on on the left, then complete the pincer with a strike from the right. Valkyrie Squadron picks off targets of opportunity and mauls fleeing hostiles, blast any who take to their caverns. No mercy, no prisoners.

Across the various sectors of the battlefield the Omegan forces advanced as the clouds of smoke receded and the battlefield cleared, moving with single-minded purpose. Assault walkers and tanks rumbled across the land, while the bulk of the forces, the broadsword would punch right through the weakened enemy lines, Hoplites with support from infantry riding in APCs and strike vehicles would hit through the flanks to rolll up and encircle the enemy. Though the bombardment was still the roar of artillery guns, concentrated on key sectors to restrict the ability of the enemy to manoeuvre, blasting away at demon engines and the ground before them so that they might be trapped. Infantry charged by the thousands, driven by zeal and hatred for the Bando Gora or the hope for booty. Whatever the reason, soon battle was joined.

steel2.jpg

Though the Bando Gora had been hit hard they fought with the courage of fanatics, as the Omegan troops came close arachnid creatures, some more than three foot tall, burst out of the ground to pounce at them, tearing soldiers to shreds, spewing volleys of acid at vehicles that was so strong it melted armour. Explosions resounded across the landscape, demon engines, badly hit by air strikes, charged, one roasting a score of infantry with a flamethrower before smashing and crushing a tank beneath it, the crew being mowed down by a powerful chainsawblade. Every inch of ground conquered was splattered with blood and more often than not ripped apart by grenades, the fanaticism of the Bando Gora only grew as the flanking forces charged in and put them under fire, laser blasts shooting out of the guns of the Hoplites, the loud boom of mass driver cannons from walkers echoing across the mountains. Two of the flying beasts swooped down, grabbing scores of soldiers in their claws and badly mauling them before they were thrown onto the ground to their deaths.

Siobhan advanced forward, flying through the air towards the enemy, telekinetic blasts sending arachnids sprawling into the mountains. Eyes fell upon a range of cliffs as she beheld retreating war engines and a plan formed. "Maco Two, Three and Five, missile strike on the cliffs in sector eight-five. We'll bring them down and bury the scum." Gathering her powers and affixing her gaze upon it, incidentally ignoring incoming dangers, she stretched out the palm of her bionic hand and made a motion like she was pulling the cliffs towards her, beads of sweat dripping down her temples and forehead as she did so, exertion written over her face. Heavy laser fire was shot her way but she persevered and so soon the rocks started falling, coming undone and crashing down onto the ground, arachnids and machines trying to evade but it was futile as the cliffs were torn down.

Then the hail of missiles shot right into the cliffs, adding itself to her telekinetic prowess. She breathed heavily at the exertion the shockwave was such that it pushed into her as well, threatening to throw her through the air but she pushed back with her powers. However, suddenly she was engulfed in a powerful whirlwind and violently spun through the air, being smashed into a Gunship. The wind was knocked out of her, she felt something break, guaranteed to be her ribs and perhaps some bones, then she cried out when suddenly bolts of lightning struck her, weaving through the air and grabbing her like claws, attracted to her electronics and frying through her armour. She bit down on her tongue and felt herself being pulled down just as the next hail of missiles hit, the ground racing before her. With one final effort she lashed out, not blocking the attack but pushing back against the telekinesis unleashed upon her, pulling the range of cliffs down so that the rocks fell in droves, piling up and smashing into the retreating war engines so that they might be buried.

She descended, falling rapidly as she tore them down, not having the energy to control her descent, before she was suddenly grabbed by a soldier equipped with a jetpack. She recognised the scarred, grizzled face through the visor, her old comrade, Thane. "Really, boss. Appreciate the rammin', but you gotta be a bit more careful.
