STANDARD FEATURES
- All canon standard ones, minus the (banned for being a superweapon according to the wiki) Mega-ion cannons
- All canon standard ones, plus:
Droid Production Factory: The factory is capable of producing the following: B1-Series, BX-series, Droideka-Series, NR-N99 series, DS-D1-series, Hailfire-Series, Vulture-Series, Hyena-Series, and Tri-Series, as well as the means to create the armaments and munitions standard for these units. The time to create depends on the complexity of the droid(s) desired, and the raw resources available at the time.
Heavy Armament: Despite the removal of its most notable and fearsome weapons in favor of a mobile droid factory, the Symmetry nonetheless contains an enormous, bristling profusion of weaponry, enough to fend off small groups of weaker vessels in record time. Similar vessels were able to easily destroy Venator-Class Star Destroyers, though modern shielding may fare better.
Mobile Production: The Symmetry replaces the ion superweapons with a massive multi-deck mobile droid factory, allowing the vessel to be somewhat self-sustaining, provided it can acquire the raw resources to manufacture more droids. Infantry and a modest array of fighters and vehicles can be cranked out, albeit not at a pace to keep up with heavy ongoing losses.
Flagship: The sheer mass of the cruiser, while smaller by far than some modern vessels, is nonetheless daunting, and its heavy armor and shields can absorb a beating and a half. It is well-crewed, and more importantly, well-commanded.
WEAKNESSES
Obsolete: While still quite formidable, this modification of a millennia-old design has long been passed by by modern weapons and shield systems, and neither holds up to par against a new-production vessel of similar or greater size.
Space Jalopy: Despite the diligent, around-the clock work of its unsleeping crew, the Symmetry has been ravaged by the passing of centuries, near-continuous operation, and innumerable fierce battles. When one thing is fixed, two more break, necessitating a sizeable 24-hour droid repair crew and a ravenous intake of parts and materials to keep it running.
Factory Power Drain: When in operation, the mobile droid factory's draw on the vessel's reactor approaches the untenable. All weapons, engines, and shields are inoperable while the factory is currently creating droids, making any attempt at mid-battle replenishment tantamount to suicide.
Pondering Giant: Never a speedy vessel at the best of times, the Symmetry's spaceborne maneuverability has not aged gracefully, and the crew are careful not to push her too hard lest a turbolaser battery snap off (again).
DESCRIPTION
The Fearful Symmetry has been the flagship of its captain, Commodore Helix, for nearly a solid millennia, doing battle against the Republic, the Empire it turned into, and everything imaginable in between in every corner of the galaxy. Its hull is pockmarked and ugly, and missing paint in several large patches that its owner could not be bothered to replace. Ancient weapon batteries dot the hull, with nearly all of them in working condition almost always.
The vessel, despite its age, glides pseudo-reliably through space like the stately leviathan it is, always seeking more fuel and credits to feed the eternal hunger of the vast industrial forges and factories that replaced its main weapon systems.
In the modern era, it serves as a mobile base for Helix Solutions, a roving droid army for hire, and is used to transport that faction's assets to accompany whomever their current employer may be. To that end, it is very heavily armed and well-shielded, at least enough so to buy time to jump away should it find itself outmatched by more modern heavy cruisers. Its considerable armament is geared more toward eradicating enemy frigates or cruisers, though some degree of point-defense exists as well to drive off bombers.
