Public The Exhibition of Light

Lily caught the amusement in his tone, her gaze sliding away from Vess and Zaiya back to him. “You’d be surprised at just how simple it is.”

She didn’t elaborate, her eyes moving again keeping Ziaya and Vess in her peripherals as they walked, listening to Daxin’s story. A long time student the Order hadn’t given up on. That he thought they might said a lot more about the Order than it did about Daxin and whatever was holding him back.

Her attention in the force focused on him fully now, picking up the slight tension in his shoulders, the careful control of his tone. Unlike most Jedi he seemed more focused on physical sense than that which the force could give him.

She gave him a knowing smile, so he had noticed what she was up to.

“Why on earth would a hobby like reading be disapproved of by the Order?” she asked innocently, though her eyes glittered with mischief before her gaze moved forwards again. “Jedi claim to be the good guys, they're not honest about their flaws, which makes them harder to trust. Plus,” she said with a small shrug “I’ll be dead before I call someone ‘Master.’”

Her eyes drifted back to Vess and Zaiya, shifting their path towards them. “So, if you’ve been with the Order for years, what’s holding you back?”

Lily nodded her head, with a soft laugh. "It is fine. I tend to be considered overdressed for many events that I attend. And, yes, I am from the Decoria clan." She felt a warmth in the recognition, it was something that Lily had to appreciate since it was always something that she desired, to be recognised by the leader of her homeworld. It meant far more to her than the rank of Jedi Master. Eshan was always home to Lily and held great importance to her.

"I am glad to hear that, I have been told by my mother and grandmother that they are thrilled that things on Eshan are moving in a positive direction once again." Stagnation had caused some harm for Eshan a while ago but a new, present leader had clearly reinvigorated things once again and Lily's mother, Rose, worked hard with the crown to help the people. "It has been a great comfort to hear such positive news from home, it felt refreshing in the face of a lot of other concerning news that I have been receiving in my work."

Walking with Quinn, Lily moved with the subtle, strong grace of a well trained Echani. Shifting from her more casual gait to a formal Echani one that Lily held for many years when living on Eshan. Clearly aiming to continue to impress her queen as they conversed and walked, "renewable energy source could be a good thing for Eshan indeed. Any preference on the energy source you were seeking?" Lily asked, it was a surprise for Quinn to be personally working on such a matter, others might have delegated such work.

"I am part of the Jedi Order here, a Battle Master. Sometimes, I think it is good for the Jedi to step outside their temples and see how ordinary citizens work and where their focuses are. A reminder of what we are fighting for." Lily stated as she felt a bundle of nerves as she confessed to being a Jedi, while she knew that nothing bad would happen to her family over such a role, Lily couldn't help but feel nervous on confessing being an enemy to the order that Quinn belonged to.

Looking around the stores, "if you would like, I would be happy to keep you company while we walk around. I do also wish to talk further on matters pertaining to ongoing situations."

"Yes they have - historically - always hated reading," Daxin said, smiling back at her. The low thread of amusement that suggested he wasn’t particularly convinced.

His gaze shifted briefly, catching the direction she was angling them in before returning to her. He didn’t comment on it, but he adjusted his pace without thinking, letting himself be guided rather than stopping it.

He wasn't entirely certain why he was following at this point. Was it because he thought she would try and lift something? Was it because she was pretty? He didn't know.

"I am what holds me back," he explained. "A lack of self control."

His jaw shifted slightly, as if he had almost said more and decided against it.

"I’m good at what they teach," he added, more lightly now, as if smoothing over the edge of the previous admission. "Just not always at when to stop."

His gaze flicked back to her then, catching that same glint of mischief in her eyes, matching it with something just as measured.

"The master thing is weird right?" he asked suddenly.
