Quinn fell silent. She wanted to tell Lily about her plans to eventually free Eshan. To any Echani, an Eshan free of any overarching governments beyond their planetary government is a dream. It had been some time since the Echani Compact was a powerhouse in the galaxy. Quinn sought to make that happen again.
She knew the dangers of that; she knew it would go against the agreements she had with Aether and her Mother. But it was her dream, it was every Echani's dream.
Lily's words weighed on her chest. She wondered who had brought this to the Council's attention. She had done everything in her power to retain and conceal herself. Not because she wanted to hide, but because it was safer for those around her. If she let the force breathe through her, everyone would taste the horrid nightmare that gave her life.
Her face didn't show the concern or the spiraling thoughts she had. Did Bastila draw her in, only to betray her? Was there another that lingered outside of her thoughts and memory that knew more than they should? One face filtered into her mind as she thought.
She scoffed slightly, as she figured that encounter was not an accident.
"I see." Her words are soft.
A hand tilted through her cropped hair, a reminder of how she makes herself different from other Echani. How she did everything in her power to be
different, yet others only saw what they wanted to see.
"You don't have to answer. Was the one who brought the issue to your Council a scrungly girl that seemed to find everything unpleasant?" her voice flat as she asked. It was a bland, not flattering, description. But she couldn't remember Colette's name, nor could she remember anything more.
"There was a woman who came up to me during the Chancellor's gala, she stared at me — looked like she knew me. She was…" Quinn closed her eyes, fingers pinching the bridge of her nose — why was this woman's so forgettable?
It was annoying.
"She was Reina's Master. I remember relaying that the girl was doing well…" Quinn didn't say more on the matter. She was opposed to how that issue had spiraled, and Reina was left abandoned. Quinn sighed.
"I appreciate the warning. I have played by all your rules. I have no ill will against the Republic as long as we are allowed to co-exist, but it seems like that is fragile as well."
Quinn mused slightly as she continued again through the stalls. She was certain no one was paying attention to this. Still, she decided to slip into their language, the spoken, to avoid rumors about herself anymore.
"Nanyë Sinda Heru, mal lá sanë ve hyarya. Istir te i nányë i Hildë?"She wanted to inquire about Bastila; she needed to know if she had accidentally put the girl in danger as well. The last thing Quinn wanted was the Jedi to speculate about a young woman who had only been kind to her…
"Ná leryalye sahtië an quetilye nin?" She asked softly. Again, Lily was one of her own; she wanted her safety secured.
Quinn shifted back to basics as she shrugged.
"I'm willing to take any more rules from the Jedi Council," Quinn huffed with a slight laugh.
"Do I get to choose my babysitter?"
