'The Footman' Sheathipede-class transport shuttle

Staying near the rear of the Confederacy's fleet, Mauer noticed as many of its warships began racing toward the planet, with its planetary shields finally crumbling with the hail of good ol' turbolaser fire. 'Finally,' Mauer thought to himself, 'Those damn shields made me waste time just sitting on my ass, time to engage on my mission.'

Immediately arising from his seat, he wandered toward the cockpit and looked out the Sheathipede-class transport shuttle's viewport and onto the battlefield. Copero, and the Jen`ari Empire, were feeling the full glory of the Confederacy as turbolaser fire, starfighters, and heavy laser cannons dazzled his eyes. Pounding on the hull bulwark next to the IG-100 Magnaguard's head, Mauer yelled, "Get this damn shuttle moving. We got a deadline to meet."

Returning back to the passenger bay, Mauer waited as the shuttle began throttling its engine at maximum capacity, soaring through space and weaving through enemy fire. As most of the Confederacy's forces were focused on deploying in Copero City, Mauer opted for a less direct entrance and instead, aimed for the outskirts of the city.

Just as the shuttle encountered a hail of anti-starfighter heavy laser cannons blasting at its position, he cursed under his breath and quickly grabbed a jetpack, slinging it on his back. As Mauer steadied himself by grabbing onto the bulwark of the shuttle, the two IG-100 Magnaguards and eight hulking B3 Ultra Battle Droids stood up silently as he connected his mind via his data uplink to the ten battle droids and instructed, 'This might be a rocky landing, so prepare to jump.'

He heard the Vicelord's warning within his mind, but before he could question the order, a head-splitting headache crippled him, and Mauer forcibly stopped himself from kneeling on the spot. For him, losing control was fear, and his mind was constructed on the fabrication that feeling fear was weakness itself, causing his mind to nearly explode in agony and pain. Fortunately, the anti-starfighter heavy laser cannons stopped firing as well, allowing for the 'The Footman' to make a gentle landing onto the ground.

As he took a deep breath, he calmed himself and mentally gathered his spirits. He noticed that his brain was nearly short-circuited due to an overload of hormones and chemicals associated with the sensation of fear. His mechanically enhanced brain soon ceased the over-driven production of cortisol and adrenocorticotropic and he found that as the effects lessened the more he mentally meditated. Grumbling to himself about the damn space wizards and needing to invent some-sort of mechanical counter to these abilities, Mauer quickly hopped off the shuttle with his ten battle droids and began dashing toward the interior of Copero City.

His first target, of course, was the safe house of Ortensia, as he knew that the Nuruodo family would be too proud to dare flee. He hoped, nevertheless, that he was not too late, as she would be the best interrogation target and bargaining chip for his later machinations.

Planetary Surface - Shield Generator
EDfUZH1.gif
(music)

Shia glanced down at Mishel as she joined up, her visored face impassive.

"Over there." She answered, gesturing to the bodies of the trooper. "But 'over there' isn't very precise in combat."

It was difficult to tell from her voice what her mood was, through the filter, but the set of her stance was serious, but not angry or demeaning, it was more likely a joke.

"Second generator is just on the outskirts, that way - but... the shield is coming down anyway, we should move to reinforc..."

Shia's voice cut off into a strangled growl as the wave of sensation washed over her, pressing against her mind. She knew the person who brought the fear with him, who wore it like a cloak, with pride. Dar'manda. She'd fought beside him before, as she did so now, because the Jedi she loved seemed to tolerate his existence. But the pressure was too much, vivid images of a past hellscape flashed through her mind and she shook her head, trying to cast off the vision and the cloying fear. The memory of a time when life meant survival for another day.

"Metus." She snarled, still sensate, but then her mind tipped sideways and combined two dark figures from Mandalorian lore into one. "Rekali!"

One Eye seemed confused, immune as he was to the effects of any emotional Force power, and let out a deeply distressed and curious binaric rumble as Shia leapt from his back and drew the MF-44 shotgun that had been one of the trademarks of Ra's crusade, chambering a shell with clack.

There was no real world now - just demons and hell, and somehow Mishel was in it - something Shia would do anything to prevent that, and she knew who was the cause. The planned deployment was that way.

"Come on Mishel, we need to get out of here and kill that exiled frack... watch out!"

The shotgun boomed and a surviving guard staggered backwards under the blast as Shia leapt at him with insensate violence, slamming a fist into his pauldron, then drawing the Darksaber from her back and severing his spine. She saw only horrors of the Nether and gore, the guard - who was as shocked, afraid and confused as she was got off one shot which caught a weak spot in her armour before he died. Then she was off, jetpack on full boost, mind a year ago and a literal reality away.

Kayla looked at Amilthi with a bit of wonder as she watched her come out of her trance. It seemed like not just her conciousness, but her very being had dissipated from her body for little while. There were many things already that had been new to s'kytri woman and it made her realize that there was still so much she felt was behind on. The more she learned about how the galaxy truly was like, the more she learned how little she truly knew.

Coren's voice snapped her mind back to reality and he asked her and Zak to do something she had never done before, so when an answer was likely to be expected it took her a moment to give one. She had not always been explicitly covert in her operations in the past, but actively drawing attention was going to be a first. Still, with a silent yet resolute nod Kayla signalled to Coren that she was ready to lend a hand. While the Jedi master would be able to easily draw attention from the ground, she herself could do it from above. When she turned around to get ready to take off and saw Zak, something then clicked in her mind and an even better idea clicked into place. The youngest of the group had shown great excitement over the events inside the escape pod and that trait came in useful.

Kayla went to kneel down in front of Zak and spread her wings, adding a non-verbal tone to her message. "Zak, was it? There is something you could help me out with," she explained with the everpresent soft touch her voice carried. "I am not the best at drawing lots of attention, would you like to help me with that up there?" She tilted her head upwards to look at the sky as a pointer to where she was going in a moment. Even a child was going to be heavy for her to carry, her hollow b0nes were definitely not meant to carry much weight, but there was much at stake here. "Just climb onto my back. Be careful, though-" she hoped the warning would get through to him, "I am not very sturdily built."

Oh Allya felt the pressure, the fear spreading across the planet. And she most certainly knew where it came from. In its own way, this fear, this panic inside her, was comforting, and it warmed her heart. Father. He was here, and as powerful as always. However, she was a kriffing Passion Sith, the stronger her emotions, the more powerful she became. She didn't feed on fear, or suffering, and the like of others. Instead, her powers were hers, and hers alone, coming from inside, until they boiled over and erupted on everything around her. This fear, it only caused her emotions to become even stronger. And above all else, she was a Mandalorian. No matter how afraid, no matter how much fear or emotion welled up inside her, there was only ever one direction to go. Forward.

Channeling this fear, letting it wrap around her, she simply fed on her own emotions for a moment, the dark side cloak that surrounded her growing ever larger, increasing the range of her latent abilities. Exiting the ship, she barked orders at the droids as they activated. “You two, guard the ship.” Pressing a button on her vambrace, the Sithling activated a Civilian Jamming signal. She was going to try and cause even more panic and fear among the civilian population, by utterly confusing them.

If successful, on every civilian frequency in the city, a song began to play, it wouldn't affect military comm channels at all.

I was tired of my lady.....

The song would loop and repeat endlessly, holocomms would show the performance of the dancers and singers, and make calling for help next to impossible. It would be intense , and loud.

Each moment of this panic, would make her powers stronger, feed her. Under her helmet, her eyes began to take on the slightly yellowish tinge of the dark side corruption coursing through her. It was time to work, she was born for this. Not even waiting for her master, or the commandos to recover (Though she doubted her master would need to) she took the droids and marched on the city. The clankers were armed with heavy weaponry, and she decided it was time to add more chaos to the mix.

Her father was too large of a target now, and it worried her. Though that worry simply fed into her emotions. On a mountain overlooking the city, she ordered her droids. “Fire the launchers.” Four of them came up, carrying heavy rocket launchers. She pointed at a building, probably a hospital, and ordered them to open fire. Immediately, rockets began to rain down upon the hospital building from far off. One after another the volleys were sent at the building, raining hell down upon the ones trying to hide inside, who needed help from the chaos of the fighting.

If that didn't get the city's security forces attention, they simply were not paying attention. Growling, she points to another target, and from the mountain side, the four droids launch another salvo, this time at what appeared to be the entrance to an evacuation bunker. If her attacks hit, they would cause massive devastation to the entrance of the shelter, as well as causing large explosions all throughout the hospital.

She desperately hoped the security forces would now target her as well, to split them between father and daughter, so he wouldn't get overwhelmed. Though she knew the chances of that were non-existent...she was his child, she worried over him, he was important to her. No one but her was allowed to kill Metus. And that was still a long time in the future.

Madalena had been standing in front of one of the unused Scimitars. Everyone around her was preparing or already leaving, but her feet stood there frozen, rooted to the ground as she eyed the entrance to the ship. She'd never been on one of these before; they were an ancient relic, created in an era that predated the Gulag. And yet… She could not deny that there was something horribly familiar about it.

It was [member="Dianah Vi'Dreya"]'s voice that snapped her out of it. Dia, her friend. Yes. They were here to bring death on swift wings together. The squeeze she gave her brought a smile to Madalena's face. The two women had killed together before, had slaughtered together before. This would be no different, just a bit further away than what they were all used to doing together. Jaron's presence brought on a form of calmness to it all as well.

It was so strange. A moment ago, Madalena had not a single worry. Now, looking at the entrance to the ship, it felt almost like she would never be back.

Shoving those feelings away, the trio (Madalena – Dianah – Jaron) boarded the ship. Jaron was piloting since apparently he was the best among the three of them.

Truthfully – they had waited too long. By the time the ship was breaking through atmosphere, the planetary shields that protected Copero were already down. Madalena, though seated and strapped in, kept looking wildly around her. The ship felt wrong. It was not how it was supposed to look. The entire sequence it took to get planet-side was mostly filled on her end with trying to shove those strange feelings down. It would not do to not be focused; she was about to go and kill people. Without focus, she might as well just stab herself and get it over with.

And then they were there. Jaron had landed them near the Parliament Building (the one mentioned by [member="Cay-Yo"]). Madalena peeked out through the window, noting the corpses that were scattered about. There were so many of them… Even before the doors to the ship opened, the scent of the blood hit her. A normal nose would not have caught that. An animal might not have caught that. But she was neither; she was a blood hound, and the blood sang to her.

Rising from her seat, the Sithling quickly left the ship, giving Dianah a moment to speak with Jaron if she so wanted to.

The moment she was on the ground, all her senses returned to her. No longer was the ship she'd been on feeling wrong. Instead, her glowing eyes set their gaze to the city – to the mayhem.

With a grin, Madalena ignited her green lightsabers as her knives rose into the air, spreading around her like a fan.

Let the massacre begin.

Stopped all that he was doing as the communication's consoles began to buzz about planetary shields having failed and multiple dropship and landing craft making their way to the planet's surface. Cay-Yo narrowed his eyes dangerously then turned around away from [member='Madison Liddell'] and ended the Holo-Transmission with [member='Diarmid']. The acolyte hopped onto the consoles themselves and spoke to his troopers through it "This is Cay-Yo! The invaders are coming! Pull back into the building." At this point the troopers who were outside quickly moved into the Parliament building and barricaded the doors. The rioters outside began to scatter in fear as an unknown mood had over taken them and the local police outside who at this time could have cared less about preventing the riot or enforcing order. It was chaos. Soon the sergeant came into the communications room, bowed his head quickly, then spoke "My lord, we are in position to defend the interior of the building. But we do not have the numbers to keep those armies at bay for long. I highly suggest you activate the distress beacon." Cay-Yo considered the trooper for a few long moments then nodded in agreement "Yes! Yes, we will! Trooper have the leaders ran away yet?" A minute passed as the sergeant spoke through his comm to get a report on the evacuation while Cay-Yo activated the building's distress signal ( [member='Darth Animus'] ), once the trooper had been given a response he looked back to Cay-Yo and nodded confidently "Yes, my lord. The evacuation was completed. The landing pads are vacant." The diminutive robed figure gave a cackle "Then let them come! Trooper you're in charge of the others. Do not fail me!" A quick salute was all Cay-Yo received as the dutiful Sith Trooper jogged off to organize the defenses of the parliament building.

Then that the communications room was filled with more information of the goings on outside. An apparent Jedi was playing some sort of music while strolling down the street. Cay-Yo gritted his teeth and clenched his fists in indignation at the man's arrogance "He'll get his!" he told himself aloud. He wouldn't be drawn out of the parliament building so easily, he had a job to do and as far as he was being informed by his own troops there wouldn't be much hopeful for a single man to break into the building - but Cay-Yo also never had seen a Jedi fight. The Patitite rubbed his temples with annoyance "Think! Think!" what could Cay-Yo do to increase his chances of success? He had fortified the building as well as he could with what office supplies the parliament building offered, his troops were under the command of a veteran soldier who would have a higher efficiency rate than Cay-Yo in all his newess could muster, and he had activated the building's distress beacon. More music began to come from the communication console "What is it with these invaders and their bad music?!" Cay-Yo shouted at the console before slamming his foot down on the Power Off button.

In the silence that ensued within the small room Cay-Yo felt it, something that pulled his attention to the corner of the room. It wasn't this empty corner, or the wall, or anything really in this building. No, it was something else entirely. This feeling pulled at him from somewhere deep in within which clearly was not a physical sensation. Cay-Yo narrowed his eyes, and jumped off the console "I have something I must do, stay with the troopers. I'll handle this." he said to Liddell in a tone that conveyed fully his conviction. The acolyte left the communications room, and briskly walked down the corridor past his troopers which were bustling around to orders he had not received. Cay-Yo's robe billowed out from under him as he jumped through a broken window at the front of the parliament building's lobby which had no doubt been caused by rioters pelting the structure with loose stone.

Cay-Yo had not been outside for quite sometime but not he could see it all, he could see the red streaks in the sky as pods and ships fell from orbit over the vast city-scape ( [member='Darth Tacitus'] , [member='Efried Halbrecht'] ). Around him he saw the dead and wounded Chiss from the riot strewn along the steps and in the streets. A building in a few blocks down was hit by some unknown artillery and began to collapse ( [member='Allya Vi'Dreya'] ) He saw a woman standing there who was clearly not Chiss ( [member='Srina Talon'] ), no she was not the source of the sensation. He saw a ship landing in the street adjacent to him ( [member='Scherezade deWinter'] ) The Patitite's attention shift from her down the street on the opposite side. Yes, yes he could feel the draw once more. Cay-Yo hopped down each step one at a time as they were made for the average Chiss and not him, it was rather clumsy. Once he had hopped his final hop down the regal steps Cay-Yo pointed at the women, especially the one with the plethora of weapons "I don't know who you are, but do not interfere! I do not have time to defeat you now, buzz off invaders!" he warned in a stern tone before turning his back on her dramatically making the fringe of his robe splay out around him as he continued his quest for the source of the disturbance in the Force ([member='Darth Metus']). His steps were quick but short so he was not moving all that fast in comparison to the average person, so it would not need much effort to chase him down if they desired, but for his kind his steps were resolute, steady, and quick. He had probably moved all of 20 feet by this point.

"Blast them! Focus on the ship!" shouted a voice from the upper floors of the Parliament building as some of Cay-Yo's troopers had seen the ship land. Windows shattered and blaster bolts came raining down at a modest interval targeting the newest arrivals to the fray. While they were no marksman of note the Sith Imperial Troopers were not inaccurate at such a relatively short distance for combat. Those in the streets of next to the Parliament building would be needing to react (except for [member='Srina Talon'] as they were not seen as hostile with no weapons drawn) but engaging Cay-Yo was clearly still a valid option.

The CIS dreadnought suddenly came back to life, and Rick's objective was changed just as quickly.
Pickle Rick's engines abruptly stalled as power was shifted to armaments and armor, with the ship slowly tilting to face the enemy head-on. Unlike many other ships, Pickle Rick's broadside position wasn't on its flanks, but directly in front of it. While Pickle Rick was very nearly equal in length and width, its top-mounted main guns could all be fired at once only if facing forward.

The two supercarriers had long left Pickle Rick, now molding into the CIS battle formation. With the enemy shook and the planetary shields finally fractured, both carriers released starfighters. Hundreds of NC-1 X-Wings, Blue Jay interceptors, and Erakyte heavy bombers zoomed out of expansive hangar bays, flying toward the enemy's capital ships.

"Open fire." ordered Rick as all ten Cerrus Demolishers found their targets.

The massive cannons screamed once again, high-explosive bullets the size of meteors soaring toward the enemy formations.

Okay, so the massacre didn't begin. Madalena was all being awesome and full of weapons flying around her and stuff, but it appeared that the Chiss who hadn't been slaughtered yet (by the Confederacy? By their own people? Who knew? She didn't) were… Retreating? Knives paused in the air as the Sithling looked around her confused. Sure, she liked massacre and carnage, but she wasn't going to chase people who were running away just to fulfill her need to be stabbity McStabby.

She wished in that moment that she had a holographic disguise with her. Turning into one of the Chiss and running with them seemed like a path that would've given her more options than she currently had. There was even a Force Power that would've provided her with the ability, but she didn't know how to do that whole Alter Image thing. So, essentially, all she had left to do was… Walk?

And then suddenly – something was in front of her.

No, not something. Someone. Madalena blinked and looked down, seeing the tiny person ([member="Cay-Yo"]). Was person even the right word? Big emerald glowing eyes stared at the little dude as he tried to sass her, telling her to buzz off. Her knives froze around her, twirling just slightly so it looked as though they were looking at each other in the same confusion that she was feeling right there and then.

And then Madalena smiled.

"Oh my Force, you're adorable!" she squealed!

Why was Mr. Adorable going away? Oh, he wasn't really fast, that was a small mercy, and the Sithling caught up with him within a few steps, simply lifting him off the ground with her right hand as all her weapons retracted back to where they belonged, safe and away.

"What are you?!" She asked, bringing him close to her face (but not too close, not within kicking distance, she was excited, but not stupid) so she could take a better look, "you're lighter than the cheese I buy on the Geonosis Market every other Saturday!" Was he gonna let her poke his tummy? Was he? Was he?!

It was then that the windows exploded and blasters were shot. Madalena's Force Barrier lifted, protecting the little dude in her hand as well, and she began to walk towards the nearest cover, most of her attention on him as she half bounced with expectation for answers.

  • Copero City
    Copero, Chiss Ascendacy Space

He felt it long before his contingent of troops touched the ground. Fear. As palpable and thick as smoke, almost dense enough to slice through with a knife. But rather than cower like those of lesser will and mind, the Reaper merely smiled. He knew exactly who was the source of this unnatural fear, for he knew of exactly one man in the entire galaxy who held such a mastery over this most basic and profound of impulses.

"Steel yourselves, warriors. Fear is not our enemy, today. It is theirs," he said, nodding towards the cityscape below. Reaching out into the dark currents of the Force, he felt his way towards the center of the slowly growing storm and knew immediately what the best way was to contribute to the Confederacy's operation at that time. "New coordinates," the Sith Lord spoke as he updated his contingent's list of points of interest with his datapad. "Set us down there."

Right by the dark heart of the twisted nightmare who's tentacles began to suffocate the city. A dazzling display of technicolored lights erupted around the dropships as the city's anti-air defenses turned their attention to this latest wave of enemies. The contingent's own weapons sung their own mournful song of war, accompanied by a choir of strafing Vulture droids, swooping down upon their targets like mechanical birds of prey. Lady Death claimed its first offerings as several of the shuttles and dropships exploded, overwhelmed by the enemy's stalwart defenders.

Over to the left, one of the Sigma-class dropships exploded, the Centipede held within its claws ripping itself apart as its articulated joints twisted well beyond the limits of their design tolerances, the mangled corpses of its crew spilling out into the abyss. Several smaller troop shuttles ignited like Exodus Day fireworks and immediately after, they ceased to exist. Drop pods unlucky enough to be caught in the sights of the heavier weapons, were simply deleted out of existence. Yet, through all of this, the contingent persevered. This was, afterall, the expected price of war.

Like a flock of great carrion birds, the contingent's many shuttles and drop ships descended upon every available piece of land in the Vicelord's proximity, setting down anywhere there was enough room for the spacecraft to land. Even with the Vicelord's terrifying onslaught gnawing at their minds, the troops still managed to deploy in a mostly coordinated and orderly fashion, such was their training that even when faced with terror made manifest, they would not break and flee. In the case of armies, discipline truly did separate the wheat from the chaff. And Nelvaan's troops, though few in numbers, were certainly not part of the latter category.

The first two Centipede walkers touched the ground, released from the claws of the Sigma-class dropships which delivered them into battle, forty meters of segmented durasteel making their way across the landscape and taking up positions to secure the flanks. Their tail-mounted claws drove themselves into the ground, or seized upon anything that would grant them the footing they sought as the gargantuan machines reared up like snakes, watching, waiting. Elsewhere in the city, other such machines would do the same, composite laser beams seeking out things to destroy even as Crimson Fire tanks began unloading barrages of missiles upon distant targets. Two regiments of soldiers streamed out into the cities, most dispersing towards their objectives, while several squads converged towards the Vicelord's position.

Even with the Nelvaanian's extraordinary discipline, such was the ferocity of Metus' onslaught, that many simply blasted anything that did not immediately look like a Confederate. Several instances of friendly fire were reported and an untold number of civilian deaths were not, though their blood still stained the city's streets, adding fresh atrocities to the brutal spectacle of carnage.

Not far from where the leader of the Confederacy worked to break the minds and souls of the defenders, a silver shuttle settled. A squad of Wolfguards poured forth, accompanied by a pair of Psi Corps operatives, rifles scanning their surroundings for potential targets. At the center of the formation, walked Darth Tacitus, armor gleaming in the sun, barking orders at his troops. "Defend the Vicelord," he instructed. "Let nothing interrupt him."

Pausing to take in his first breath of Copero's air, the Reaper of Lorrd then took his place by his master's side. He would add his own brand of foul sorcery into the fray, adding to the horror that the Vicelord whipped the embattled city with, unleashing an atrocity of his own making. If Metus was the herald of the Jen'ari Empire's apocalypse, Tacitus would be his horseman of death.

Removing one of his gloves to reveal a pale, taloned hand, the Reaper slid the deadly edge of his longsword's cold blade across his palm, biting deep into the flesh to let his blood pour forward as he reached into the churning maelstrom that was the Darkside and fed upon it like a hungry beast, sending forth his cold, merciless will to batter the Force into submission and coerce it to do his bidding.

He uttered the first words of the spell and the nearest corpses began to stir.

The spirit of the Sith Lord wavered, barely clinging to its vessel as every vestige of energy he possessed ignited the flame deep within the heart of the miniature star housed in the reactor. Gravitational fluctuations caused by the overloading star pulled everything in the room towards. The broken corpse-king slid across the chamber, leaving brackish blood stains from his severed limbs across the flooring.

The lips of the pureblood muttered ancient languages, tearing the power within the miniature star, drawing it out. Celestial matter lashed across the reactor chamber, tearing through the housing and melting through the chamber, energy cascading outwards from the shattering reactor core.

Warning klaxons blarred in his ears, drowned out by the roar of the star beginning to go nova. Bright light blazed in the chamber, swallowing up the figures in the room, blinding the sith’s eyes his own form disappearing into the light, the dark corruptive aura that surrounded him continued, churning as the energy of the star lashed out.

And then the last of the reactor creaked and failed in a most catastrophic manner, unleashing the star matter being ejected from the nova in a destructive wave. The Keeper of Secret’s broken body disappeared in the light, swallowed whole by nuclear fire.

The Chiss officer had no idea who Kaida was, but his own few supporters had made ready to leave and he was the last to board. One extra on the ship was not a problem for him. He took Kaida by the hand and guided her to the waiting vessel where a handful of others waited for him, "Come on then," he muttered, in far too much of a hurry to bother wasting time arguing with the eldorai. "We can talk about who is a prisoner or savior later." The station was about to be devastated by a reactor overload and he didn't want to be here when it happened. For all he knew she could be someone left to assist him by his unknown benefactor, or much more likely a CIS supporter who could garner him some small degree of support. Either way, it didn't take half as much effort to drag her along behind him to the airlock where his shuttle was waiting.

The time had come. These pathetic rats would learn the true meaning of fear now. The rats who’s only sin was association.

Lirka loaded into one of the Droch-II pods, solemn and quiet like she had been for what seemed like this entire operation. Contemplation, little more. The forces that would be accompanying the Sephi downward were loaded into similar pods, she had requested (closer to demanded) as many Flamethrowers as the Confederacy could muster. The planet would burn. Such was her purpose, as the attack dog.

Without a word, the Sephi strapped into her seat: couldn’t much worse than the last time she had taken one of these things down. Right? Right….

To be frank it was just as bad, if not worse, the Droch carened down into the atmosphere. Lights flashing as vaguely Lirka could hear the explosions of anti-air firepower bursting around them as they made their way downward to Copereo City. A thunderous crash came from outside the pod as one of the approaching craft was reduced to little more than a burning fireball that rain shrapnel and chaos onto the city below: Lirka did not flinch. She was entirely unmoving during the entire trip downwards: there had been little time to finish her contemplating. But as she moved to the planet like a meteor, it gave her a brief moment to come to terms with what she would be doing: she would slaughter, without discrimination nor mercy, she would not enjoy it. She would not relish it at all. But it would be done. The painful necessity of war.

And with that, that pod crashed into one of the streets of Copero City.

----

The growing chaos erupted immediately, bodies were thrown wild, impaled, or simply crushed under the relentless assault of drop pods. Lirka unleashing a savage and bestial roar as she launched herself out of the pod like some living missile of whirling blades and savage intents. She wasted no time getting to work, burning with emerald energy her Klaive swung indiscriminately: civilians were hacked down in droves. All but helpless against the Sephi’s relentless assault.

Lirka’s armor was not designed with the simple practicality of being able to smother her enemies in a wall of spikes but instead was modeled much closer to a Demon of Thustran myth. Why was such a thing important? As she flung limbs, shattered families, and reaped a bounty of life only the most disgusting creatures could obtain she had become that Demon. For what sentient would commit slaughter of this scale, looking those they killed in the eyes, a Demon could do such a thing. A face that barely resembled a face, two burning eyes watching as the simple act of slaughter was commited. Lirka did not need tricks, lies, the force, the coward’s tools to instill fear in her foes. She need her armor, and a blade. And they would learn fear.
This city would learn fear.
This city would burn.

Kurenai more or less idly walked through what was left of the battlefield, the Chiss did not seem to be making any real sort of stand, the induced fear by Metus a few moments ago probably not helping. It was af as if this battle was already won well before things got to hectic, then again it was expected, the Chiss were not ecactly unified at this time, many groups claimed to be the 'Ture Ascendancy'. It would have not been a surprise if those here didn't exactly like the Jennies that or the CIS invasion force was much more intense then necessary, perhaps they would never know.

All that mattered at the moment was the fact for the most part the enemy had vacated the immediate area, letting most of the Knights get out of their craft without any resistance. Over all everything was rather lack luster, Kurenai expecting their to be waves of fanatic Sith knights ready to throw themselves into the fray along with a numberless amount of troopers in black armor. "Well at the very least it was a nice vacation, while I am here perhaps I could visits a few places, havn't been to this part of the galaxy in a decade or so, things have certainly changes". Come to think of it Tiantang was only a few sectors away, would be interesting to see what her husbands home planet was like, the secluded planet was not known for talking with the rest of the galaxy.

The group continued to fan out, not even meeting any local, even civis, well until a strange little being stepped forwards, one that made Kurenai second guss her sanity for a few seconds. Right now standing on the ground was a tiny itty bitty person, seemingly threatening Madalena with some sort of miniature weapon, it was rather cute. She was about to query the women on what she was going to do with the strange sentient being but before any words could be uttered the sudden sense of threat came through the force. Instantly Kurenai rose her had towards the oncoming blasters from the nearby roofs, the flurry of bolts slamming against an invisible shield, though forcing the women back into cover.

Once safe the blue haired women turned to the carrier for the small being, looking at both with a raised eyebrow. "Was that some sort of distraction? because I have to admit, it was not something I expected", 1 credit for the Jennies and now there was something to fight, even if was was just a handful of troopers. Reaching back she retrieved her ACS-202, turning off the safety before ducking out of cover, with one hand spraying down the windows which housed some of the ambushing troops. Would she hit any? maybe who knew though one thing was for certain the troopers were not bad shots, at least two bolts impacting against her chest before ducking back behind cover. "hmmm not bad, shame they all have to die now, I'd like to give them a few pointer on suppressing fire".

While reloading her weapon she called out to the others present, "several squads in the buildings 30meters ahead, I estimate 40-70 troops, upper windows, no marksmen from what shots indicate, from how much the shots hurt I am leaning towards... E-11D"? Odd why was such an old weapon being used in a war like this, well what ever either way it was a competent but underwhelming foe. "Want us to level the building or breach and clear"?

Mister Coren seemed like he had recovered.

Boss Lady did a meditation thing. It totally seemed like she just checked out for a, like, quick power nap, but it was totally a Jedi meditation thing. That did... something.

Likely something totally spiritual. Which was why Zak honestly had no idea. But he supposed it was very Jedi-y.

Hearing his name, the green-skinned youngling looked around for a moment before he found himself looking up at the winged blue lady. Or, S'kytri. That was S'kytri right?

So many different species. It was like everyday you stepped out of your house was a pop quiz in biology.

The S'kytri lady needed someone who could attract a lot of attention? His time had come. Plus, he got to go flying with her? Bonus level unlocked. "Yes and yes!" the boy chirped, literally bouncing as he hopped with excitement and energy at the prospect.

As the boy walked over, examining as she indicated for him to get on her back, the boy gave a giggle at the mention that she couldn't handle much weight. "I'm travel sized for your convenience," the boy quipped brightly.

"I ordered to take that building Lieutenant! Don´t argue and proceed, use gauntlets or knifes to clear the path, but get me that building!" Colonel Halbrecht gave the com back to his vox-operator and looked at him for a moment, it felt like his brain would pierce his skull in the foreseeable future, the headache was nearly unbearable. He knew who did it, but that wasn´t important anymore. "Are you alright? You look pale."

Thankfully his command unit responded with a mechanical sounding chuckle. The atmosphere was tense and it has been a horrible way till here. Taking a look around from behind a large fountain, he could see the third battalion move to their left, fortifying an reserve holding line. Standard procedure, three are attacking and one is whiping up what was left behind and securing back and front.

Fifteen minutes ago they landed outside the city, one of the ships was nearly crashed by one of the pilots due to the cursed meditation hitting him unprepared. It was a curse. Getting hundreds of reports of bleeding noses and massive headaches joined by an epidemic fear increase, he was affected by as well, the commander had the difficult task to keep his unit operative. It was not unknown, but one would never get used to it.

After landing he hoped that his senior-officers would push their men out of the vehicles. They landed right at the city outskirts, luckily the meditation hit the enemies as well and even more luckily, the gunners of the assault ships were droids. Unleashing one hell of a suppresive cover fire, the regiment was less efficiently forming up as expected. It was like stumbling into a nightmare, at the beginning Efried himself had several nightmarish vision and nearly shot a rock next to him. Catching himself he was walking with straightened back head on towards the defence lines.

"Men of the Corps! Men of the 82nd! Some of you, perhabs myself, will not live to see the sun set over these mountains today. But I say to you, what every warrior has known since the begin of time: Conquer your fear and you will conquer death!" His com-channel was open and he used the loudspeaker of his vox-officers com. "Report to your squad leaders!"
His nose was bleeding too, but he ignored it. For the better part of the next minutes, the 82nd swept over the outer defences of the chiss and imperials, the suppresive fire of the four ships holding the enemy at bay, equally to [member="Darth Metus"] cursed meditation. The assault was uncompromising. The enemy had partly retreated from his trenches and a fierce house-to-house battle developed. They concentrated on several main streets and crossroads, rather than a fixed defence line. The colonel admired their attempt, he would have done it in a same manner. But his men were Ultranauts. Trained and equipped for assaults, for close combat and they moved forward, slowly, but steadily.
The 82nd had adopted a fire-and-advance order, of the four battalions, one would move forward, while the other two supported it and one was held back in reserve for the holding-line. The rotation was done with all units, therefore a fresh supply of the charging battalion could be maintained as well as some rest for those who jumped head-on into battle.

Finding himself behind that fountain, Halbrecht spotted a high building one block away which currently marked the front, but it was apparently filled with dreaded civilians and the Gamma-company was hesitating to waste their ammo and grenades for them. The building offered a perfect view around for this part of the city. The crossing the fountain was on, was part of the main street which led directly into the heart of Copero City, the governmental district - but that was not their goal today.

Increased covering fire could be heard and Gamma entered the building. The discipline and performance was not on its best today, but it was still better than the enemies'. Halbrecht looked at his map. Four blocks. Usually he planned for this to take at least several hours. The clank-bam of the mortars behind him accompanied his thoughts.

Mishel had caught part of what Shia said and responded, "well then what was the point of us-" She gestured with her hands that was supposed to resemble them being folded into space and landing on the surface. "Last time I volunteer for one of these, but yeah I guess we should meet up with Coren and..." It was in moments like this the Tygaran wished for some sort of X-Ray vision so that she could see through the Mandalorian's visor. It wasn't like Shia to just trail off midsentence like that. A strangled growl caught Mishel offguard and her heart plunged somewhere between fear and concern. Mara's ears twitched and she communicated to Mishel, fething Sith. Mishel you need to-

Whatever it was Mara was about to say Mishel had completely disconnected from it. She watched as Shia mentioned two names while dismounting One Eye, Metus and Rekali and of the two, Mishel only knew Metus as the leader of the Confederacy. He hit the entire place with a fear spell. That was what the Tygaran managed to hear next she had to make a choice here, "Mara go find Coren and help him, I- I've got this." She twinged from the spell's inner workings she could feel it worming through her mind bringing out her fears. Mishel had built something a resistance to it, but not a lot. If anything she just delayed the inevitable.

I'm not going anywhere, Mishel. Mishel you have to fight it.

Mara told her before turning to take care more of the Jen'ari guards and troopers. Mishel held a deep fear that she would revert back to her old ways and turn back to the darkness. Even from a distance she once more outstretched with the Force, Mara responded immediately. A veteran of such spells she was able to withstand the onslaught and helped Mishel reach Alé. The Jedi padawan latched onto her newly found sibling just as well, two anchor points in this reality to keep her steady and what Alessandra would feel and possibly see were the fears her elder sister had. The time with the Knights of Ren had not been pleasant, and drove Mishel to the brink. She broke down then, and formed a darker persona to protect herself with and as Mishel fought.

The Felacatian's words were a focal point, a knife to cut through the darkness and let the light bleed its way in.

In an instant Mishel's eyes flickered and a swath of sulfur breached the sea of her hazel-green hues. Mishel had her own demons to battle, the dark side reared itself and the memories of her Ren alter-ego came running back faster than the Millennium Falcon during the Kessel Run. The woman found herself on the ground, knees to the dirt and hands braced against it. She felt Mara scoop her up but that was all she knew as the realities began to blur and fear worked its way through her, she turned to her faith. Her faith in the Eldorai's Great Mother and it was that faith that she turned to in times of trouble. From the moment she was taken from Tygara and plunged into a bacta tank to the day she stood against Taeli Raaf's deception and even now. From her lips poured forth the Eldorai song and prayer to the Great Mother Ashira, the Blessed Goddess. No doubt a song Shia may have heard from Mishel in the past whether hummed or whistled, it was one of the few things that Mishel had retained from her previous life.

From when she was Riona Kerrigan-Alcori.

Mara knew the importance of the song and while she didn't know the words she helped to repeat them in the hopes it could help Shia just as well. For Alessandra the song would feel more like hope, words would be blurred and perhaps bleed through their connection. Mishel repeated the words with her eyes shut tightly opening them only when the darkness refused to subside. The sulfur hues weakened to the hazel-green that represented the Tygaran's lightside. The song continued as if stuck in a loop, half-spoken at times but nevertheless it presisted.

Ashira l'Adonai ki gaoh gaah
Ashira l'Adonai ki gaoh gaah
Mi khamokha ba'elim Adonai
Mi khamokha ne'dar baqodesh
Nah'ita veh'asdekha 'am-zu ga-alta
Nah'ita veh'asdekha 'am-zu ga-alta
Ashira, Ashira, Ashira

There can be miracles, when you believe
Though hope is frail, it's hard to kill
Who knows what miracles, you can achieve
When you believe, somehow you will
Now you will, you will when you believe

You will when you believe

Kaida gave the Chiss a curt nod. In principle, she was a Force Master...but presently a very sick one. Moreover, the shipyard was about to go down in flames. So she switched off her frost sabre and took his hand, as more coughs wracked her body. They passed through the airlock where his shuttle had docked not a moment too soon. The star roared, then went nova. It sounded like the death throes of a wrathful god. The reactor had failed in a disastrous manner. Nuclear fire swallowed the essence of the Sith Lord. Kaida felt his life force dissipate. Into the eternal void? He had mentioned that he had died before. His kind did have a habit of cheating death. No matter.

The Chiss got his crew in order. They gave Kaida glances that verged from curious to suspicious and outright hostile. No time for chatter. Quickly the shuttle took off. Behind it, the station was shaken by a series of magnificient explosions. Doubtless not all who had been on the shipyard would have made it out in time. If Kaida had been the religious type - and more compassionate - she might have prayed to the Mother Goddess of her people.

But Ashira was no goddess. She had been the first Eldorai. Nothing more. Just a being of flesh and blood who had lived and died twenty thousand years ago. Asur was a myth. Both concepts were the opium of the people. There was no eternal reward, nothing so childish as heaven. Just a cold void.

The shuttle shuddered as it escaped the dying shipyard. "I will require use of your medbay," Kaida said in between painful coughs after the transport had reached a sufficient distance. One of the Chiss was nice enough to show her there. Hopefully her condition was not contagious.

FINAL POST
The battle had at last turned in Rick's favor.
Rick and his Confederate allies had dished significant damage on the Jen'ari and Chiss defense fleets, pushing them closer and closer to the planet. The planet's shield network had at last collapsed, leaving the planet's cities open for thousands of Confederate troops to enter. The planet's once thriving shipyards were now being obliterated, production for an enemy's war effort vaporized in an instant.

Perhaps after the battle, ORME could send in a few ships to scavenge the metal fragments before the Jen'ari returned.

The time had finally come for Rick to depart.

Even Pickle Rick's shielding was not infinitely durable, and soon the ship's heavy armaments would run dry. The two supercarriers had been strained in maintaining control of such a large detachment of starfighters, who were now returning to their hangars after a successful strafing run. In the expansive bridge of Pickle Rick, a final set of commands were issued.

[Pickle Rick to Sixth Fleet detachments. We are departing the battle after a positive damage tradeoff. This may be a large battle, but there are plenty of those nowadays. Our true faction, the Silver Jedi Order, needs us. So we must take the route we entered the system in to leave, and join our fleet in restoring justice to the galaxy.]

Not a second after the fleet comms concluded their message, Pickle Rick began to turn around, its right engines coming offline while its left engines burned especially bright. The two supercarriers did the same, angling themselves slightly downward to avoid colliding with any Confederate warships. All of the deployed starfighters returned to their hangars, and began the refueling process.

Blue and white streaks began to fill Rick's vision as Pickle Rick entered hyperspace.

Cay-Yo had been briskly walking away as he was drawn to the location of the ever present disturbance in the Force, being Darth Metus. That was until he felt something brush against the hood of his robe then his feet leave the ground! Cay-Yo's legs rushed back and forth furiously "Ah! Let me go!" he exclaimed once he came face to face with Madalena Antares, a bubbly personality with a very large amount of deadly objects "I am Cay-Yo! A Patitite! You will rel-" his words were cut short as the troopers within the parliament building that had spotted the invaders began to open fire. As the Force barrier prevented the blaster bolts from hitting either Madalena or himself he struggled against her grip.

When safely behind the nearest cover, which Madalena had been walking towards, Cay-Yo lifted his arms and slipped down through his robe to the ground beneath. While still falling the Patitite drew his lightsaber and ignited it. The cherry red blade lit up his face once he jumped away from her, which was now fully visible. His skin was purple with glowing yellow markings across his face and head crest "You'll regret standing in my way!" his right hand brought the lightsaber blade against the pavement twice, creating narrow grooves before him, at the same time showering thin sparks into the air. Cay-Yo narrowed his eyes and with the Patitite war-cry on his lips he catapulted himself towards Madalena, spinning like a top, a red glowing blur "Yiyiyiyiyiyiyiyi!"

Meanwhile the Troopers continued to fire their weapons at the direction of the ship that had landed. Within the Parliament building itself the sergeant of Cay-Yo's forces was in communication with wider command elements of the Copero ground forces. It was looking grim and he was certain of their pending defeat "Damn the Confederates!" he cursed and made his way to the communication console to see if he could make contact with the Jen'ari Fleet in high orbit, but communications were silent to him. The Sergeant took off his helmet and stood on the holopad, readying to broadcast a message to any official channels that would receive him. The trooper was a man in the later years of his forties, bald, and with a rugged face to match his long years of service "This is Sergeant Dial, Military Police Garrison 'Copero City', we are holding our ground at the Parliament building. Evacuation of VIPs was successful. We are not enough in number to hold this post. Requesting reinforcements or permission to regroup with Imperial forces elsewhere."

Objective: Destabilize, and Loot

Jorco's own forces were ready as they came in through orbit on there ships. From his understanding the shields were going down, but he didn't wanna bet on it. For this mission of his time was money. They needed all the time they could get to take the riches of a city. Whether it be something as well established as a bank, or some poor schmuck's home.

On the flight down Jorco had told men to land outside the city and let the CIS personnel take on city's defenses. From what he could tell the Jen'ari were putting up most of there forces around their parliament building. Jorco's pirates would be coming in more like in wave one and half. Let the confederates rack up some of the body count before he through his men into the fight. Sure it was a tad scummy, but he had to look out for his own men.

Once his men were all ready and the fighting was taken to the street in an urban infestation of Confederates in Jen'ari neighborhoods Jorco gave the signal to his own lieutenants to begin their own assault. Instead of the more political, industrial, and governmental districts they be heading more towards residential and commercial centers since that's where most of the good loot will be. Taking on business and wealthy estates.

By the time they got there however, it seemed as if some of the citizenry had similar ideas. It was a riot! Now Jorco wasn't gonna let a bunch of darn civilians get in his way of good loot. Over his comms he spoke to his lieutenants. "Hey fellas, with all these people running around, don be afraid to be a little... intimidating." Thus there great looting had begun, as they'd be practically joining in along with the rioters. Pirates jumping into the fray, blasters shooting off into the air as they set out to loot and set a city ablaze.

Pei slid into the copilot's seat, and helped go through the preflight checklist. While he was a good pilot, he was a commando first. He would need to be able to get in and out fast. But, this would make the job go quicker. He had the explosives needed, and everything was ready. As they approached the station, and the fire came at them, the ship rocked. “Putting energy from the weapons into the shields. We won't do much good if we don't get there!” Grabbing hold of the energy displays he worked his magic, balancing the power outputs, as the pilot showed his stuff, by weaving through the heaviest fire towards the station.

As they approached the station, the planetary shields collapsed, and Pei gave a loud whoop! “That's how its down people!” The invasion ships moved in. Checking the scanners once more, Pei smirks in his helmet at the massive energy readings coming from the station. “Looks like we are a little late to the party, Commander.” He calls out over the comms. “The station is destabilizing as we speaks. Force be damned, our people do fine work. Those ships pounded the station to shreds! The fleets are scattered, their wrecks or barely hanging on. Moving to secondary objective.”

He and the pilot gave each other a high five. Watching the enemy burn like this, damn, he was proud to be CIS this day. The Dauntless shuttles followed as they dove down to the surface. Anti-air was still an issue, and the ship rocked with the hits. “Come on baby, hold up for a little longer.” Carefully balancing power outputs, generator controls and so much more, he was co-pilot and engineer, making sure the ship stayed in one piece.

Finally, beaten and bruised, the ship landed alongside of many other commando ships, in a residential area, near the secondary objective. “CLEAR OUT! We are go people!” The commando shouted out, and got out of his seat, scrambling for the door. “Pilot, keep the engines warm, shields up as soon as we are out, bail if something goes wrong, you can always pick us up at another LZ!” Clapping him on the shoulder before he left. “Thanks for the ride.

They were trained, organized, and bailed from the craft in quick order. Soon they were in the LZ, weapons drawn and hot, searching for any hostile activity. “Clear for the moment, Commander! Orders?”
