Not open for further replies.

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

  • Intent: To provide a sturdier model of Verikast Armor meant for squad leaders, and heavier field units such as grenadiers.
  • Canon Link:N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source:Model-A Verikast Armor | Verikast
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: The Bryn'adul
  • Affiliation: The Bryn'adul
  • Market Status: (Closed-Market
  • Model: B
  • Modularity: Like its predecessor, most individual pieces of the armor can be easily exchanged for others through the loosening of a few straps, though the added bulk of the Model B means that this takes several more minutes. Furthermore, the armor may be taken with either an anti-heat (Tungsten) or anti-cold (Steel) dissipating alloy, but not both. Swapping these pieces out would effectively mean taking off the entire armor set, and so battlefield swapping would be exceptionally rare and dangerous.
  • Production: Minor
  • Material: Verikast | Leather | Steel Alloy or Tungsten Alloy Plates
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Multi-Purpose
  • Weight: Heavy
  • Resistances:
    • Energy: High
    • Kinetic: High
    • Lightsabers: Average
    • EMP/ION: Very Low
    • Elemental (Either Hot or Cold, Never Both): High
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • N/A - Low Tech
STRENGTHS
  • Verikast Resistances - As a large majority of the armor is composed of Verikast, it possesses a high degree of resistance towards energy weapons. This includes things such as blasters and disruptors, though not Ion or EMP weaponry.
  • Alloy Additions - A vast improvement to both the kinetic resistance and the elemental resistances of the armor has been caused by the addition of one of two alloys to the armor which serve as cover-plates over the already present Verikast. These alloys are either steel-based which possesses a heightened resistance to cold, or tungsten-based which provide resistances towards extreme heat. Since they both take up the same positions on the Verikast, a soldier will need to determine which cover-plate they are utilizing at the beginning of a battle.
  • Open Helmet - Keeping with the previous model of Verikast Armor, the Model B possesses an open-helmet design. This means that a warrior utilizing the armor loses none of their perceptive abilities, and is able to see just as clearly as if though they were not wearing the armor at all.
WEAKNESSES
  • Ion Zap - The Verikast metal used has a notable lack of resistance towards Ion-based weaponry. This means that an Ion blast that strikes the armor anywhere is likely to behave as if though it hit any other place on the armor. Hitting a leg is the same as hitting the head, the current flows through the armor.
  • Thick - Just as thick, if not slightly thicker than its predecessor, the Model B makes it difficult to perform exceptionally dextrous maneuvers such as dives or combat rolls, and it makes long-distance running an absolute nightmare.
  • War Face - Possessing another of its predecessor's weaknesses, the Model B has no facial covering. While this is excellent for guaranteeing sight lines, it works both ways. All of the armor's resistances may be bypassed with a well-aimed or lucky strike to the face.
DESCRIPTION

In an attempt at providing greater survivability to squad leaders and other specialist members of Drone fighting groups, the Bryn'adul issued orders for a new model of Verikast armor capable of providing a higher degree of kinetic resistances. Furthermore, attempts were made to integrate cover-plating into the Verikast in order to deal with the common usage of Cryoban and Flamethrower armaments on battlefields without needing to rely on the presence of creatures.

While this armor form is primarily found in the ranks of the Sraelvun and their Risen squad leaders, larger variants of it may occasionally make their way into the ranks of other members of the Bryn'adul as well. These variants are effectively identical except for size, and so are all considered to fall under the broad "Model B" categorization.

The armor provides covering to the front and back of the torso and stomach, the back and top of the head, the hand, arm, and shoulder, the thigh, shins, and feet. A line of protective alloy plates interlock directly beneath these Verikast pieces, pressing tightly against them, and guaranteeing a layer of elemental and kinetic protection while ensuring that these pieces are not shredded by blaster bolts.

Although I'm not sure, but i think you're going to need a permission on the Verikast? As Verikast has no market status on it.

Similar to before, this app is -2 points underpower, you can add an additional field or two, sonic and splitting elemental into hot and cold could help? It's not required, but thought I'd mention.

Rest seems great!

Fancy seeing you here!

Per the underpowered element, I went ahead and boosted the Lightsaber resistance to Average (like the predecessor armor this is based off of) since the reason I had initially lowered it was basically out of worry of it being too overpowered otherwise. If that's acceptable, then I'm fine with this being underpowered (or at power, I'm not exactly up-to-date on the power scaling)

Per the Verikast: I'm currently an admin for the Bryn'adul and a member of their Creative Team which I would hope ought to entitle me to using some of their metals and such. Otherwise, though, I had permission previously for the first model of armor, and I've sent a message to Tathra to "like" the post whenever he finds time to provide further proof so that there isn't any doubt.

Thanks again for the review!

Very nice submission, just have one thing for you,

Your submission is actually one point underpowered, would you like to keep it this way? Or you are more than willing to change it.
