FORMAT INFORMATION
The Beautiful Lie comes in two formats and two variants, specifically a physical book versus a more conventional digital copy and the complete version versus a redacted version; the physical books, rare as they are, only come in the complete version.

Crafted from only the finest of leather, adorned with gilded patterns, and alchemically altered to protect from extreme temperatures, water, and even stray weapons fire, the physical copies of the Beautiful Lie were not designed with subtlety in mind; taking inspiration from the various works of Velok of Toola, these tomes were imbued with short-term memory enhancement analogues for ease of study.

In addition to the digital version of the complete edition, a redacted version was compiled for public consumption - by removing the instructions on how to launch vicious mental assaults a la Memory Walk, the work was, supposedly, made safe for the public eye. Given the fact that it still goes into detail on how best to deceive or even dominate a mind through telepathy, its legality remains dubious in certain jurisdictions.

CONTENT INFORMATION
Unlike most academic works, the Beautiful Lie lacks any clear distinction between parts and topics. Instead, Prospero slowly guides the reader from the most basic of introductory remarks to complex theories about the nature of the consciousness in a manner that could be described as "brilliant", "eccentric", or both, depending on who you ask.

Not restraining himself purely to the theoretical, the Lie contains a great deal of practical advise ranging from how best to phrase a suggestion to suit the subject's mental state to how to dominate the weak-willed. Of particular note in this regard is the Sith Lord's musings on Memory Walk, specifically that drawing on a target's desires is more effective than drawing on their regrets; while arguing that the subconscious mind has a weak spot for the desirable, he nonetheless admits that some individuals have been known to react poorly to such adjustments.

"Unless one's goal is to emotionally scar one's foes, the sweet dream from which one does not wish to wake is a decidedly superior option to the usual fear, pain, and horror." / "It is the suggestion that the subject might, under the right circumstances, be inclined to follow that is most insidious and least likely to face the full resistance of their subconscious mind." / "Through layered suggestions and constant reassurance, a subject can be bound to one's will semi-permanently without having to resort to the inelegancy of brute force." / "When possible, tell the truth; unnecessary falsehoods are the hallmark of idiots and pathological liars."

Torture by Chagrin - Sweet Dreams instead? Limited practical trials, but Adrian believes in it? / Attempted on Ingrid with limited success.
