OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Subsumed Ghouls
  • Designation: Sentient
  • Homeworld: Amaltanna
  • Language: Sith, can understand Basic but cannot speak it
  • Average Lifespan: 30 years
  • Estimated Population: Inter-Planetary
  • Description: Subsumed Ghouls are a horrifying enhancement to the traditional rakghoul. Glowing yellow eyes, pale skin, sharp teeth and claws are features that immediately leap to mind, not to mention the armor and enhancements that have been painfully grafted to their bodies.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Type I
  • Average height of adults: 2.2 meters
  • Average length of adults: N/A
  • Skin color: Pale white to a sickly gray
  • Hair color: No hair
  • Distinctions: The most distinctive organic traits of the Subsumed Ghouls are the glowing and unsettling yellow eyes, their sharp and infectious teeth and claws, and their deceptively sickly appearance. Males have slightly larger claws than females, along with their skin tone being paler. Females have an extra set of eyes and their skin tone generally tends towards gray.
  • Races: No other races
  • Strengths:
  1. Unlike their more basic progenitors, the common rakghoul, the Subsumed Ghouls retain their sentience, albeit the inbred compulsion to be loyal to those that serve the dark side of the Force. They can use weapons and vehicles, learn and adapt and otherwise all other actions a non-Sithspawn sentient can do.
  2. Just like the base rakghoul, the Subsumed Ghouls are still infectious, able to pass along the specific strain of the rakghoul plague that created them. A bite or scratch will render a victim into a coma, within a few minutes to a few hours after being wounded, and the transformation will take a few days, long enough to send the infected victim back to a processing center for the armor and enhancements.
  3. The Subsumed Ghouls have been injected with the EX-324 serum, an old project from the Lady of Secrets company. The serum provides the new creatures with enhanced strength, easily able to lift an average weight human with one hand and throw them across a room.
  4. In addition to the enhanced strength from EX-324 serum, the new monsters have an enhanced healing factor, able to heal most non-lethal wounds within moments. However, they cannot regenerate lost limbs or wounds that prove lethal.
  5. The cybernetic pumps on the back of the creatures inject a supply of a synthetic version of the Flesh Eater elixir, increasing their aggression and bloodlust. The pumps also serve a secondary purpose of injecting a coolant into their bloodstream to prevent overheating from their rapid metabolism.
  • Weaknesses:
  1. If the pumps on their back are damaged in any way, the coolant they need to survive will cease to enter their bloodstream and they will literally burn up from the inside out within moments, killing them.
  2. Due to a complication from the EX-324 serum, if the creatures come into contact with any organism carrying Yuuzhan Vong DNA, even if wounded by a Vong weapon, they will rapidly suffer cellular degeneration and become nothing more than a pile of organic goo, armor, and cybernetics.
  3. Because of the EX-324 serum enhancing their strength and healing factor, they have an increased metabolism. Not only do they need to consume twice as much as other beings, but their healing factor is not perfect. Repeated injuries will cause the wounds sustained to heal improperly, leading more to infected wounds and possible death.
  4. If an infected individual is able to be injected with bacta before they fall into the coma stage of infection, the plague will be cured. If they fall into the coma, complete submersion in a bacta tank with regular treatments of anti-virals can cure it. Once the transformation takes place, however, there is no going back.
  5. Force Light and other direct applications of the Light Side of the Force will wound or outright kill them.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Carnivore
  • Communication: Sith language or roars to intimidate their enemies, can understand Basic enough to accept commands issued by commanders
  • Technology level: Galactic Standard
  • Religion/Beliefs: The Subsumed Ghouls have constructed a crude belief system based around a pantheon of Sith and the plague that created them. The plague is the instrument of the Sith, their Dark Lords, and to please their malevolent deities, they must fight the enemies of their deities, spreading death, destruction, and most importantly, the plague among those foolish enough to resist. At the top of the pantheon is the Dark Lord himself, their most revered god. Beneath him are the Shadow Hand, the one who promises them glorious purpose, and the Deceiver herself, the one who created them. Other Sith Lords of note are revered as well but on a less common scale.
  • General behavior: The behavior of the Subsumed Ghouls is focused around the survival of the strongest. Created for war, the Subsumed Ghouls position those that have high body counts as leaders of their communities, their communities generally being the unit they serve with when fighting the enemies of the Sith. As they are sterile, their only means of reproducing their number is through passing on their plague, with those newly transformed being termed scablings and being used for more menial work until they prove themselves in battle. If a Subsumed Ghoul dies, whether it be in combat or against another of their kind, their bodies will be consumed to preserve the strength, so they believe, of the deceased.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

It had been some time since the Lady of Secrets had visited her research on the rakghoul plague. Her previous experiment, Slythghouls, had been a modest success and caused some problems for the Silver Jedi and Alliance. However, they were not... satisfactory to her anymore. They might be useful weapons, but they were not soldiers, something that could see wider use among the Sith Empire. She decided the time was perfect for creating a new series of Sithspawn, based around the rakghoul virus, for the Sith Empire to use in a variety of ways. And she would start with the basics.

Using captured citizens from the cleansing of Ession, along with slaves bought for on Zygerria and other captives from previous campaigns by the Sith war machine, she began her work. Operating out of a new facility on Amaltanna, the Lady of Secrets and her Order of Shadows began their experiments to create the Subsumed. The prisoners and slaves that would form the first Subsumed Ghouls had been chosen for a specific gene marker that would allow them to accept an old experiment of Taeli's, the EX-324 serum.

The new creatures would have enhanced strength and healing, and armor such as that worn by the Sith Legionnaires would be painfully grafted onto their legs and torso. Still, at this point, they were still only mindless beasts, not worthy of being soldiers. To that end, the Lady of Secrets, using Sith alchemy and dark magics learned from the holocrons of Naga Sadow and Freedon Nadd, uplifted the creatures back to full sentience.

No less deadly, and now able to serve as soldiers, the new Subsumed Ghouls would be issued weapons beyond their infectious claws and fangs and sent out against the enemies of the Sith as shock troopers, ferocious monsters with the goal of pleasing their dark masters.

I had some reservation about the healing factor, but this serum was approved in the Codex and balanced. You added its weaknesses in this submission as well and included some hefty new ones that allow very quick ways to incapacitate or downright destroy these fellas.

That is fine with me. Nice job as always.

Pending secondary approval!
