herself, The F1R-FY or "Fireflies" came from the necessity of quick and clean kills at a moment's notice and Aloy's desire for the ultimate gunslinger's weapons. Aloy used her gunslinger's knowledge acquired over the previous decade to draw up schematics in between missions until she was satisfied with her own designs, Sending them to adoptive mother,
River Kryze
, To be manufactured by the Steel River company as House Vizsla's first and most prized dueling pistols. A few months of testing and tweaking later and Aloy had the very first Firefly pistols at her disposal, With a small batch following immediately after, Shipped out in incredibly small numbers to House Vizsla armories and high profile members of the Mandalorian Union, And even a few Karjr and Enclave members.Though rare indeed, These guns became known within these circles as the ultimate choice for gunslingers and commandos in need of a weapon well suited for quick but brutal engagements, Especially in urban environments.
Thanks to their modified magnetic holsters, They are exceedingly quick on the draw. Paired with the hairpin triggers and virtually non-existent recoil, Gunslingers experienced in their use are known to take on groups of opponents within seconds of drawing, Burning straight through armor and bone instantly in showers of dark-orange light, Distinctly loud pops and showers of sparks on each hit, Making both the Fireflies and their wielders a sight to behold.
It is this fiery sight that some believe earned them their nickname, But a rare few know the real story behind their name, And know it to be something far sweeter and far more personal; During a trip to Felucia, Aloy and her partner confessed their love for one another while trapped in a cave full of felucian fireflies, And being the nostalgic sort, Aloy named what would have been a one-of a kind pistol after that special moment shared between the two. Being the generous kind however, She allowed the Steel River company to sell in small numbers across the outer rim.
