Stamping out the Coals [Assault on Mytus VII: Mandalorians vs The New Order]

The zombies were not endless. The zombies were not immortal. They were cheap imitations of true Sith Zombies, made quickly from fear and desperation. They fell quickly, without pause. Their attacks sluggish, speed more so. A true zombie would be better then these Sithspawn. But..
They came. From behind the dwindling horde of undead they came. The clicking was first, quiet, one or two voices at most. But they grew louder and in number. The Technobeasts, they spoke to one another, clicking, screeching. They hungered, an appetite that would not be satisfied in any lifetime. They were not pawns of one Sith, but a collective mind. The Sith had created something that surpassed them. Assimilated them. Human screeches could be heard farther in as the slaves turned on their Darkside masters, dragging them int the bliss of one mind. The harmony of machine and flesh. And they came.
Glowing red eyes pierced the darkness of the temple, slowly growing in number. The zombie horde continued to dwindle, not because of the advancing Mandos, but because even the dead could be assimilated. It was not long until the flesh machines came forth, weapons fused to their arms. From blasters to swords, crude metal to that of a lightsaber, they were armed. Soldiers, slaves, Sith, they all came with the hive mind. They all came to assimilate.
They attacked, their numbers numerous. They charged forward, their hunger to turn overcoming any logic they may have had. Blaster fire returned as the hive mind thought, processed. Even as those that would be melee came in close the blaster fire would simply go around them. It was as simple as shooting around your own hand to them. In the place of the clicking a single hollow voice sounded off from all of the machines, filling the whole of the Sith Fortress with the call.
ASSIMILATE

(OOC: Another follower of the Horde!!^)

Nolan heard the cries of a Togorian nearby. He looked and saw the giant cat creature surrounded and cornered. Nolan broke hard from his blood-rage and jumped onto one of the Techno-beasts. He looked to [member="Kila Cadau"] to follow. He lopped the head of the creature off, crawled inside of the vehicle it was built into, a tank. He pushed through the decaying innards, he wished he still had his helmet on. He took a liberal aim and fired into the center of the horde before him. Body parts and servos showered the surrounding creatures. Nolan popped back out and jumped off the tank into the hole he made and carved his way to the Togorian.

Looking up at the cat-beast. He picked up a vibrosword from a dead zombie (Huh, ironic ain't it?) and handed his Beskad to the cat. The Beskad would be the equivalent to a Longsword to a Togorian, but Nolan figured he could use it better than the shorter vibrosword.

I want that back when we're done here. He joked at the cat.

[member="Mrrew"]

Mrrew was thrown back by the blast that destroyed the zombie horde, but was only minimally injured- a few bumps and bruises, and quickly got to his feet. He smiled in suprise at the mandalorian handed him his Beskad, looking down at it. Togorians are known to be excellent sword handlers- almost all males trained from a young age. A sword was almost as useful as a blaster. The Togorian nodded at the mando with a smile, brandishing the Beskad in front of him, ad looking around the mass of zombies, and technobeasts as the mechanical creatures spread through the fortress. "Thanks." And he ran in to battle again.

This time he made sure to stay out of teh center of the hordes of enemies- and was ecpecially cautious to avoid the blades of the Technobeasts. The beskad sliced cleanly through anything and everything with ease. Now he knew why beskar was so valuable. But, he was tiring. The monsters he was fighting, the technobeasts, just kept coming. They assimilated more and more to their ranks, and they never tired. Never faltered. Just kept fighting. Mrrew only hoped that the battle would be over soon.

While the violent civil war raged on between Daichi's forces, the Mandalorians and the Graug, a forth faction had decided the war was already lost. Led by Commander Rykal and a group of renegade New Order officials and political figures, they had decided to take up an offer from an influential CIS viceroy with the promise of new work and sanctuary in return for serving as the new personal armed forces of his own noble house. Gathered in one of the planets many spaceports in a large city north of the capital, a sizable chunk of the Imperial Fleet had gathered to evacuate as many troops, weapons, vehicles and supplies as possible before they set off to rendezvous with their new benefactor. A message of peace had been sent to the Mandalorian invasion force, stressing that the evacuating forces would never trouble the Mandalorian Clans again after they'd left for better prospects.

Outside of her prison cell Anastasia could hear what sounded like a civil war. The screams of Gaurg was ear piecing but it was a most satisfying sound. After everything they had done to her and the other lost souls trapped in here they deserved everything that they got. A part of her knew it was wrong thinking that way but she didn't care. They had taken everything from her and even someone did save her there was no guarantee she would assimilate into the real world. She was broken but still Anastasia had hope that whomever was out there wouldn't forget about the prisoners even if they just dumped her somewhere.

As the door was opened she looked up to a man she didn't recognize. He wasn't one of her captors which meant he had to be the one she heard out there slaughtering them. The book fell to the ground as she was told to come with him and she stood up. A million questions crossed her mind but now wasn't the time. She was going no matter what these man's plans with her happened to be.

Quickly she stumbled to her feet and grabbed the diary next to her. She had on a dirty white dress that was now brown thanks to the conditions here and she smelled. She wouldn't be aware of that though as she was used to it by now.

Slowly she walked forward towards him a little hesitate but still going. Never had she been out of her cell before without being cuffed first. This she imaged would be the first of many things.

She was speechless for a moment as she just stared up at him for a moment like an idiot. "Thank...you," she managed to finally get out before turning her attention to the hallway now visible to her. This cell was behind her.

Kila laughed at Nolan's words. "I'll do my best." She promised, beheading a zombie that got too close.

Then the clicking started.

At first, Kila didn't pay much attention, but then the Technobeasts started coming - "merging" (they called it assimilating, if their shrieking was any indication) with zombies and Sith. They - a hivemind? - shot around each other easily. This would be...interesting. "Well. This is new." She said lightly, but her grip on her weapons tightened as she blasted and sliced, doing her utmost to keep the enroaching horde at bay.

In short order, the technobeast swarm drove Ashin limping back to form up with two Mandos and an immense Togorian. Lightsabre in one hand, heavy blaster pistol in the other, she did her level best not to accidentally kill anyone that didn't need killing. She no longer had a Master's awareness of her surroundings, nor a Master's timing. Nor a Master's ability to push back, to evade, to deny. She was a heavily armored Padawan with a very bad knee, and she could easily die here.

ASSIMILATE!

Siobhan had heard the hollow voice that sounded out from all the machines, technobeasts, as they were called, resounding across the massive fortress. At first she had the somewhat bizarre idea that Maelion Liates and Moira Skaldi had finally unleashed Clockwork. Of course, if the two terminatrices did that they would probably start someplace else! Regardless battle called her and so she answered. It appeared that she was a bit late - fashionably of course! So it was her full intention to make up for that.

Ahead her was a horde of mechanical monstrosities that seemed to have been spawned by the imagination of a mad scientist who would fit in well amongst the Bando Gora. Truth be told Siobhan was reminded of the abominations she had faced in the caverns of Gehenna along with HK-36 and the Iron Knights. Twisted creatures of flesh and machinery, weapons fused into them to create automatons of destruction, all intent on serving their dark masters and assimilating all that crossed their way, friend and foe alike. They charged with reckless abandon, their will to destruction fuelling them and overcoming any contrary thought. For every technobeast or zombie that was slain, there were more to take their place, for they were legion. But that was fine, that was perfectly manageable. As for zombies, she had slaughtered intelligent zombies run by a hive mind on Denon and before that in Shadow's laboratory. Well, actually the latter had been sort of given intelligence by hers and Adril's blood, but let's not get into that.

Her will to cause desolation was just as great and in moments like this she felt her lust for the right reawaken. Aphotic energy rippled through her body as she drew upon the energies of the Force, her bionic eye glowing for a moment. She took a breath, and then the ridiculously brutal telekinesis master let loose an overpressurised telekinetic shockwave that swept through the hall straight towards the monstrosities, making the walls shake under her might, blasting a chunk of the wall behind them apart.

Amongst the Mandalorians fighting against the horde she sensed a...familiar presence. Clad in what seemed to be a shiny piece of armour. Ah, well, it figured that Varanin had to show up again! The Force clearly had a sense of humour and liked to troll her. Somehow ever since she had went light side, whatever that meant in this galaxy, Siobhan kept running into her. This was clearly not the moment for introspection so Siobhan focused on the important matters at hand. Like making two boltguns leap into her hands and pump beasts full of bolts.

The monsters kept coming. Friendly rienforcements came to, of course. Some mandalorian with a lightsaber, a weird looking pale one, but they were outnumbered at least ten to one. His loaned beskad was very useful. He hacked aimlesly through the crowd of Technobeasts, doing his best to keep them back, and away from his allies. But they just. Kept. Coming. One hacked at his head with a rusty sword apendage, allowing him to duck and quickly stab the beskad in to the Technobeast's stomach. Another attacked while he ducked, and almost ran him through, But mrrew stumbled back- and slashed the bskad through the Tecnobeast's arm. And they kept coming. He backed up closer to his allies- standing right next to the mandalorian carrying a lightsaber, and continued to do his best hacking and slashing with the Beskad. He'd seen how these monsters introduced more in to their ranks- he couldn't let even a small scratch touch him. He did his best to dodge and weave around the technobeasts, staying close to the mandalorian known as Ashin.

Another technobeast- one converted from a Sith with a lightsaber imbedded in one hand, and the other converted in to sharp talons- sensed weakness in one of his allies, and attempted to close in on the injured mandalorian next to him, swiping with it's talons. Luckily, Mrrew was close enough to turn, and place the beskad between the mandalorian, and the sithspawn. The technobeast turned his attention to Mrrew, and slashed with the sith saber that functioned as his right hand, causing Mrrew to jump back to avoid losing his head. A patch of fur was painfully burned off along his neck, but he survived. He only had enough time to realize that the duel with the sithspawn had led him away from his allies- they were to busy defending themselves to notice-, when the sithspawn lunged forwards again, this time swiping with his talons, and Mrrew dodged around them, trying to impale the monster with his beskad. The techosith parried the beskad, and reached out with his talons, grasping on to the Togorian's arm. The technobeast quicly applied extreme pressure, and a snapping sound filled the air as Mrrew's wrist was broken, causing him to yell in pain as he dropped to his knees. In a last ditch effort attack, Mrrew stabbed the Beskad forwards with his other hand, driving it straight in to the monster's chest. The beast fell backwards, leaving the beskard in Mrrew's right hand.

Mrrew panted with exghaustion, still standing on his knees, and let the sword clatter to the ground. It was time to get back to his ship. He couldn't fight any more. There were hundreds of technobeasts, and his rifles were gone. He had to get back to the ship. As Mrrew slowly pushed to his feet, a glitter of red on his white fur caught his attention. Tiny cuts from the Sithspawn's talons, where he had gripped him, right at the wrist. Mrrew's eyes widened in terror, staring at the small wounds on his arm. No. No, this couldn't happen. "No no no no... no, It can't..." He looked up to the tecnhobeasts on the battlefield. He couldn't be like that... No, no, no, no... Maybe he still had time. Maybe it hadn't gotten through his system yet. The togorian lnunged forwards, gripping the beskad from the rocks where it had clattered. Maybe he had a chance. Maybe it hadn't spread through his system yet. He swung the beskad in a hacking motion, straight through his upper arm. The Togorian screamed in pain as he dropped to his knees once more, bellowing with the pain of his new severed limb. His lost thoughts as he began to slip in to unconciousness, was if he would ever wake up.

TL;DR: I cut off my own arm.

Kila lunged forward as the Togorian dropped, slashing through a besk'ad-wielding Technobeast that attempted to impale the fallen Mandalorian. No expert on anything medical - she'd skipped as much of that part of her training as she could in favor of close-quarters combat - she fulfilled the role of keeping the Togorian from becoming more injured. She swayed slightly to keep another blade from impaling her in the shoulder, before bringing her own sword up in an underhand stroke and eviscerating her opponent. She managed to blast three before the next wave closed to melee range, forcing her to engage them with her besk'ad. In the split second she had, she holstered her blaster pistol and freed her hand to punch, jab, and put more power into a swing as needed.

Darth Banshee finally made made it to main battle lines, she was still afraid of that sniper shot from a mandalorian. She moved towards to sith fortification, as she did she saw some thing that horrified her. The very reason sith had bad name, they where making sith spawn out of the dead. In her mind The New Order where heretics who deserved death, they tarnished the name sith for the last time.
She began to move towards the zombie horde, cutting through them with lightsaber. Always making sure she made steps backwards as they advanced. So she not be surrounded by them, as she good but not good enough to defeat a whole horde if surrounded. Her light saber swings may looked wild from out side of the battle, but they where quick aimed blows. Trying to ether knock them back or decapitate them. She fired her wrist blaster at some as they tried to flank her, as they almost surround her she forced leaped back so they have start again to try and get her.
She hoped some of that mandalorian fire power would help her soon.

With a proper killing machine in her hands, the Sith Mandalorian advanced a lot faster through whatever the New Order threw in her way. People, machines, something in between; all dead, ripped into shreds. With a portable power generator on her back, she did not even have to worry about ammo. It was almost too easy. Find enemies, set the generator behind a safe cover, attach the ultimate weapon to anything, take aim, press the trigger and release it once everyone lies motionless. This kind of tactic earned her several blaster bolts into her Berkar armor, which meant she would wake up with many ugly bruises in the morning, but she promptly ignored it right now. The rush of adrenaline in her body was too great to pay attention to such little things. All she had to do was to watch out for the power generator, just a few hits and the portable power supply would explode. Quite a big risk, considering she carried it on her back most of the time.

That was until Izinri reached the zombies. She had expected the New Order to pull out some sort of a superweapon, something powerful. Not reanimated dead people! She watched from under the helmet as an unknown Sith fought against the undead. It was quite fearsome display of power, yet it became obvious the Sith would be soon overpowered by the sheer number of her enemies. The Sith Mandalorian wouldn't let the dead kill someone who was still alive, if only so she could kill the Sith herself later. Sighing, the young woman knelt among the rubble, setting the bipod on whatever remained from an improvised barricade and lifted her weapon up so the barrel pointed at the zombies. "Hey, Sith!" she called out, "Out of the way!" One pull of her trigger finger and the light repeating blaster barked its deadly song once again, sending the dead down, never to get up again.

Vilaz was one of the Mandalorians that was close to the Sith, Sabrina. He was disgusted to see her in their ranks and yet nobody was giving a damn about having a Sith with them. This was a disgrace to his eyes. She was an impostor which made everyone laugh at the Mandolorians for having a Sith as a Mandolorian. It insulted him, his people, his culture, and everything that was priceless for him.

He didn't need her help. The Mandalorians conquered the Sith empire and have proven themslves to the galaxy that they are the best, deadly, and fearsome warriors that has come to existence.

With his bowcaster he raised it up and began aiming at the Sith. She was too busy with the undead robots and she would probably think him as a coward. But Vilaz plays dirty and he would the advantaged that were open to him against his opponents. "Never turn your back to your enemy, di'kut," and with the press of his trigger he sent a bolt at the Sith. Then another and another. He wasn't screwing up the operation. Besides, the Sith were their enemies and she is a Sith no matter what organization or good deeds she has done.

[member="Darth Banshee"]

Darth Banshee ducked as she heard [member="Izinri"] say "Hey, Sith! Out of the way!" The woman then opened fire, tearing through the horde. She got out the way, then some thing happened. Another mandalorian opened fire, he did not aim for the zombie horde he aimed for her. As he did he said to her "Never turn your back to your enemy, di'kut!" She took the shot`s to her back, they sent her flying forward towards the horde as she skated across the floor.
Her lightsaber flew across the floor, as she went flying across it herself. As she came to stop, one the zombie bent down to bite her. She instinctively put her arm up to protect herself. She heard a bone shattering crunch as he bit into her, it was not her bone the made the noise. The zombie broke it`s own jaw, when it bit down on phrik metal. Other zombies where starting to try drag her, and pull at her. She was in trouble......

They were virtually back-to-back now, technobeasts all around, at beskad range -- a little too close for really adequate slightsabre use, but it was Ashin's only real option regardless. She winced in respectful sympathy as Mrrew removed his own arm. She'd lost her own arm, back before she'd been granted this body. Should Mrrew survive, he'd be in for interesting times.

A simple Force push tired her, but gave her the room to crouch over the unconscious Togorian. Her sabre slashed across his stump with the precision of a blademaster who'd gone toe-to-toe with the finest lightsabre duellists in the galaxy. Cauterization lost him another quarter inch of arm, but at least he wouldn't bleed out.

Her bad knee buckled under her, but as she fell she snatched up his fallen beskad in her off hand. The fight went on, the odds were very bad, and she had the tiniest fraction of her old strength to rely on.

Lightning tore around the group. The Technobeasts, alive only because of the technology, shorted out almost instantly. Daichi moved over to the group, flanked by his honor guard. They were armed with ion and emp rifles, blasting down technobeasts left and right. Daichi kept a steady stream of lightning as he nested them, shocking only the machines.

"Lightning, ion, emp. Those will kill them no issue, and by a large number." He looked around, his lightning stopping as he spoke. One of the beasts, snapped like a dog, jumped for him, razor teeth aiming to clamp down. The smaller girl, one his honor guard, took the bite for him. She was killed instantly, but Daichi only stared, watching. The beast was promptly torn assunder as the Emperor raised his hand.

"Do not hesitate."

The Sith was fine for a few moments while Izinri's weapon created a path in the undead horde. The Mandalorian kept her eye out for the unknown Sith, watching her from time to time between firing long bursts into the walking dead. Will she be her opponent, the first Sith she kills in her life? When she heard the voice of [member="Vilaz Munin"] coming from behind her. She paid it little attention, right until several shots passed above her head, one of them finding their target in the Sith woman's back. This gave the zombies an easy target, their rotting wave moved towards the fallen Sith. Frowning under the helmet, Izinri used the moment to pause and let her weapon cool down. "That was hardly necessary, vod." She stated bluntly, pressing the trigger again and gunning down another zombified trooper, the high powered blaster bolts ripping through the already dead flesh and bone. "If someone's going to kill her, I don't want it to be them!" she yelled over the loud fire of her repeating blaster, not knowing if her brother could hear her.

Meaning what she said, the barrel of her gun moved to point at the undead who were about to swarm [member="Darth Banshee"], with several walking corpses already trying to take a bite. It was almost impossible not to hit the Sith, but the red skinned Mandalorian imagined it would still be a better death than being ripped apart alive, slowly and painfully. Another wave of blaster fire carrying death sent towards the zombies that surrounded the Sith Lady was enough to take care of the ones close enough to attack her, every blaster bolt burning through several bodies in its travel.

Siobhan could sympathise with losing an arm. Suffice to say she had been maimed a lot over the past decade, to the point where half of her body was bionic. However, she did not time to come offer given the swarm of Technobeasts and zombies. Her overpowered force push had sent beasts flying across the hall with brute force, the shockwave being such to tear a large chunk of wall out and utterly crush zombies, but more were coming even as her boltguns roard.

Now the abominations were at close range, where she was at a strong disadvantage. In a blur she telekinetically exited the depleted magazines of explosive bolts and in their place buckshot leapt in. Her guns barked, relentlessly pumping out rounds, shooting buckshot everywhere. Zombies were blasted to foul smelling chunks of flesh as limbs flew, but the technobeasts were relentless, charging over the destroyed bodies of the undead, assimilating them rapidly. Where one fell, it was just fuel to the others. Finding herself cornered Siobhan was about to let loose with her powers when suddenly with tremendous speed one of the technobeasts came at her, just as she blasted yet another of the undead. She perceived a warning through the Force and sought to dodge, but was not fast enough and so as she evaded she suddenly felt a powerful blow crash down upon her like a thunderbolt as a very large, very wicked looking hammer that reminded her of Eyrecae's phrik one smashed into her left shoulder and upper arm. Beskar was a marvellous materiel that pretty much turned you into a walking tank. It could resist lightsabres and keep you well protected against blaster bolts, even bolter rounds were not that effective against it. However, it did not prevent blunt trauma and the hammer caused this in spades.

Crying out in pain she was thrown back and her boltgun dropped out of her arm, which felt deadened and immobilised. She raised her other boltgun but she was reeling under the blow and so the beast suddenly grabbed her by the throat with superhuman strength and smashed her against the wall. Her boltgun fired on reflex, hitting some other creature or perhaps nothing, she could not tell as her visor cracked. Multiple arms seemed to be sprouting out of the beast, seizing her in a crushing grip. Then...she lashed out. Violently as sheer rage coursed through her and more beasts approached.

A telekinetic blast smashed into the horde with the force of a speeder collision as she dragged the wave all around her to impact upon them with tremendous velocity in a force repulse. Sufficient to blast the beasts through the walls, actually perhaps even the walls beyond as they were sent crumbling down and the hall shook as if under the force of quakes, part of the ceiling even dropping down. She lashed out much like an animal that had been cornered and responded ferociously and so beasts were chucked like ragdolls and crumbled as they impacted, destroyed bodies and weapons likewise being caught in the wave and hurled at great velocity to clash with those still standing.

Limply she raised the hand of her damaged arm, the organic one, the Force flowing through her to still the pain as she arose. Electricity cackled across her gauntlet, then a purple stream of ion energy swept across the hall, leaping from technobeast to technobeast, frying and blasting circuitry. Ionise droid might not have been honed on the same level as her mastery of telekinesis, but it was a power she had invested plenty of time in, to the point where machines could be blasted to scrap and so it came to pass.

These supplies included bioweapon samples that Circe had of course retrieved from her laboratories. This included samples of the rakghoul and technobeast viruses, along with tubs of a blueish-grey substance that apparently cannot be named. As well, the prototype Pluton-class Battleship was on its way, along with the tooling of Subach-manufactured Sith craft. Sith0Subach stuff would be returned to the CIS.

Hopefully, things would get better.

Nolan stepped in front of Kila and the Togorian.( [member="Kila Cadau"], @Mrrew) He became the wall of death, as he again focused on the pain inside and unleashed his anger upon the beasts.

Follow me!! I'll cut a path to get us free. Whatever happens, DON'T STOP RUNNING!!!

He would wait for a collective agreement then he would grab the wounded women [member="Ashin Varanin"] (Him under her shoulder) and [member="Siobhan Kerrigan"] (Piggy back style) then begin his rampage through the dead. Cutting and smashing and bashing his way through the horde that had surrounded their position. His added strength would allow him to assist the woman and fight simultaneously.
