Public SOS Call [Open to RTL/RJC]

Ship fire lashed out from behind them as Khusrasol flew away from Qi-ko, a few sith fighters coming from behind him, piloting her back and forth. Each movement shook him. He couldn't stand it, the waves of darkness whatever they were they...

"SURRENDER NOW, JEDI SCUM!"

He took a deep gulp of air, as Khusrasol flooded her pilot compartment with oxygen. It was difficult flying like this, he was already fairly worn out from having to deal with...well, fighting sith...escaping from sith... Another explosion erupted from behind them and he felt pain shoot up his back and he coughed. Shields... must've failed.

The shields have failed, Raphael. We need to get out of here... My ion emitter has gone out for a bit...

Keep them busy!! I'm-- Going to...

He focused, concentrating on a jump, focusing on where they would be going. Where could they even go to??

"Attention, jedi ship! Power down immediately and prepare to be taken into custody!"

His mind snapped, the Rimward Trade League wasn't too far away! They would need to go there! It was the best...way...

Khusrasol..p...prepare to jump... Now!!!

He could feel the strain on his body and his eyes suddenly were filled with stars as everything began to move, shooting into hyperspace. Khusrasol and Raphael both shot through hyperspace the straing feeling as though it was about to pull the both of them apart and then... suddenly... she came out of hyperspace right smack in the Rimward Trade League and Raphael blacked out.

There was a powerful burst of sonar that shot out. Anyone nearby reading their comms would hear "This is Khusrasol... I am the Baleen Astromata of Raphael Gallustrade of the New Jedi Order... We... are both in great need of assistance... We are warping in from sith space, having barely escaped the invasion of Qi-Ko... We are both heavily injured... Please... anyone... Please..."

U-Wing UT60D | Deep Space

Pyeth had expected many things, when he embarked upon the livelihood of a Jedi. He expected to be serving the innocents of the Galaxy, he expected to learn the ways of the Force. He never expected to be piloting metal boxes in space.

For the most part, he had gotten away with being a passenger only ever expected to casually observe as he and his Master. Well, former Master now traversed the Galaxy.

Knighthood came with new expectations, and many of those required he be able to manoeuvre safely across the galaxy. So naturally, he had to learn.

The U-Wing wasn't his first choice, but it's controls were simple enough with space for a co-pilot and company besides. Plus, they had been assigned to assist Vera Tillian Vera Tillian in patroling the borders.

So far, oy a few ships had visited many refugees and others merchants. One an Orion operative, but Admiral Quauhatli took swift command. He knew nothing of what the Satorian planned, but trusted in his judgement.

He slowed the ships speed, pressing in the keys as Torc Valhorn had shown him to begin the scans. He expected nothing, maybe some white noise.

He was surprised when the system pinged, detecting what could have been debris or something more significant.

"Cousin, you read me? Picking up something on long range scanners. It sounds matallic, but not much power if any at all. I'll pass Coordinates onto Captain Vera, you good to come investigate?"

Corbin Vasher Corbin Vasher had joined him as an escort, Admiral Quauhatli and Vera seemed adamant about them going in pairs at a minimum. Seemed reasonable to him.

Pyeth narrowed the search pattern and began moving the U Wing forward. As he drew closure a transmission began, "This is Khusrasol... I am the Baleen Astromata of Raphael Gallustrade of the New Jedi Order... We... are both in great need of assistance... We are warping in from sith space, having barely escaped the invasion of Qi-Ko... We are both heavily injured... Please... anyone... Please..."

Qi-Ko?

"Captain Vera Tillian Vera Tillian . We may have found some more refugees. Sector 14-K. I'm moving my U-Wing to intercept, but may need medical support."

RRS ENDURANCE

Vera massaged her temples in the captain's chair of the Rescue Service vessel, listening to the discussion and hum of the bridge around her. It had been a long border patrol along the Rimma in the disputed territories between the League and the new Sith Empire.

If this was an undeclared war, it wasn't what she had expected, even from her experience with the Suarbi Defense Forces. She'd only seen a few skirmishes as a junior officer, though, typically running damage control parties.

"Incoming transmission!" The comms tech said. "Coming in from Pyeth."

"Make the connection," Vera replied, looking up suddenly. "And perhaps link the transmission to Corbin Vasher Corbin Vasher and Elias Edo Elias Edo ."

She hadn't been too certain of the Rimward Jedi Coalition to start with, but they seemed fine enough, and they threw themselves into the work of the League. And with Jedi survivors fleeing the attack on Qi-Ko, it was probably best to have them nearby.

"Comms established," the tech replied, glancing up from her dashboard. "Channels linked."

"We read you, Pyeth," Vera said, tapping into the command console of her chair. "Can you lock in more on the coordinates?"

She waved to the other bridge officers. "Prep the medical bays and S&R. Nav, start plotting a course to Pyeth's location. Have the hyperdrive spooled and ready to make the jump."

Corbin had been mostly let his ship auto-pilot, instead going over hololedgers and latest schematics from Force-Tech. He had someone to take care of all of it, but, as owner, he still periodically checked everything himself as a professional curtesy. He'd finished all that and was going over the blueprints to a prototype droid he was designing as a personal side project, when Pyeth Raffinki Pyeth Raffinki chimed in on the comms.
"Yeah, on it," he replied. Pyeth relayed the transmission he had picked up. "Qi-Ko? I feel I've heard of that before. Can't remember if I read about it or heard one of the Defenders or the Saarai-Kar mention it. Has a Jedi sounding name. I've got a bacta tank we cen keep whoever this is in until support arrives. Only one, though. Could aways use my cryogen chambers if there's multiple. Would keep them from dying at least. Not sure what a Baleen Automata is. A droid whale? Some kind of ship? Not sure I have anything for an injured one of those." He could feel something odd in the Force. "Do you feel that? That odd Force presence? I've never felt anything like that before."

It wasn't that she was every where she needed to be, but with Coren out doing his own thing lately, Kaia was the one in charge of the family business. It meant working within the confines of the Trade League, and it also meant checking in on friends. And Qi-Ko had many friends. The formation of the Rimward Jedi Coalition was something that was very good for the people of the Rim. Plus, its what put her and her smaller vessels around Qi-Ko.

The Corellian Dawn was out in Wild Space, near the former Levantine Space, around where her brother was located lately, while the Dawn Chaser was in the Unknown Regions, as was typical. Her trip to Qi-Ko was merely being a messenger. She took her fathers old A-Wing and brought it out here to drop a few messages off. Drifter was stowed in the small compartment and had a few files.

As she pulled into real space, having directed herself not straight to Qi-Ko but to a bounce system, using the Endurance as a reference, she was hearing the comms chatter.

That's not good.

"Starchaser to Endurance… I come by at a bad time?"

"Roger that Captain. We should hopefully have them extracted before you arrive."

"Qi-Ko. Been there once with a Padawan to retrieve their lightsaber crystal. Very serene place, reminded me of home. There was a small temple there." Pyeth explained, filling the time with conversation. It was just about all he could do while he began making preparations and leaving the droid copilot to do the rest.

"Bacta? Good. With any luck we won't need it." Pyeth said mildly confused when cousin Corbin Vasher Corbin Vasher mentioned something about whales?

He pulled aside some cargo, flipping the lid to find a few Wampa leather pouches. Dried herbs, nearby he grabbed a survival kit and returned to the cockpit.

External lights illuminated the creature, both organic and mechanical. More pings flashed on his sensors, seemed other ships were responding.

"It's uh... Unique." Pyeth replied, hearing the chimes and beeps from the droid. "No. I haven't operated on a ship before."

There was a sad woo, although Pyeth suspected that dark humour motivated the droid.

Pyeth only shook his head and closed his eyes focusing on the creature directly ahead of them. Isolating the white noise and releasing a gentle pulse in the force. If someone was inside, he hoped to wake them if only for a moment.

He sensed two, one masking the other with its presence in the Living Force. One radiating from the creature, and second within.

"Captain. It appears your assistance will be required, a biological ship it looks like. Wounded from cannon fire. I'm going to try and establish communication over unencrypted channels."

"Cousin can you keep watch for any Sith ships that try to intercept. Seems like we might need to wait for the RSS Endurance, or a freighter big enough to house her."

It was a risk, any nearby Sith Order ships might pick it up the signal but he trusted Corbin and any other responding ships to handle that.

He opened his eyes turning off the encryption and using a wide band. If the creature, or the individual inside could hear them hopefully he would get a positive response.

"Khusrasol do you hear me? I'm Pyeth, a Jedi Knight and Doctor representing the Rimward Trade League. I'm in the U Wing on your aft. We have a Capital Ship and friends en-route to assist.

If you can hear me please respond."

"Message from a... Starchaser in an A-Wing," the comms tech said, looking up again. "This sector of space is getting crowded."

"Well, to be expected," Vera said, moving display boxes around on the command console, tracking statuses of the different elements of the ship. "Link me to Starchaser."

"Aye, aye, captain," the response came. Vera waited, watching the comms link establish. "We read you, Starchaser, and you can say that. Sensor intel and a few scattered witnesses say a massive Sith fleet hit Qi-Ko. We won't know for certain until we can get scout ships out there."

Not the easiest thing to do when you usually needed to know where the planet was to find it. That didn't leave a lot of options. "But we picked up a distress signal at these coordinates- Jedi Knight Pyeth and Jensaarai Defender Corbin are checking it out. They may need some back up."

They were both competent enough at what they did, but she wasn't sure where they stood regarding deep space search and rescue. It wasn't something always seemed thought of, from what she knew of Jedi and Jensaarai. It seemed like an oversight in her opinion, but what did she know? Her family was Jensaarai, but not her. She was lucky enough to miss the Force-sensitive gene. But Starchasers were spacers, through and through. They would know search and rescue.

She preferred to be in something a little bigger than what she was in. It wasn't that the fighter was bad, no, she cut her teeth on TIE/Ad in her past, so an A-Wing was actually pretty much dressing the part for her, but if she had a freighter, she was a bit bigger and her dual laser cannon turrets could do a number on smaller vessels. But the Snapper was quick and agile, she'd be fine too. It was a matter of getting to where she was needed.

As she was waiting for Endurance communication, she was settling into the Force to prep herself, and reach to the ship she was in. A bit of an oddity, alchemized by a Jal Shey… Wait what?

"Come back, did you say living ship?" Her father had Sekotan vessel, but he wasn't near out here, was it? No, he was on the other side of the galaxy, she thought…

"Tillian, I'll get out there and report back. May have to make a jump to get safe…"

She was part of the Trade League but not enlisted, and this was her own ship. Putting in the known coordinates to Qi-Ko, the head strong little Starchaser made the jump to lightspeed.

There was silence in the galaxy, Raphael was breathing. He had a great deal of damage, and had pushed himself far more than he ever had before while using the Force. Khusrasol had suffered damage from the plasma blasts and yet suddenly she heard it. The call of someone... Then she felt them through the Force. A powerful ping. It was a knight. A beacon in the Force that reached out to her. There was also another, though somewhat different, sound.

As Pyeth approached the ship, he would hear her in his head.

"I am thankful to see you... My friend is... in critical condition. He carries with him something that could help Qi-ko... Was given power...by the nexus... But he took a deep gash to his left thigh, and fought several more sith as he withdrew. By the time he arrived... he was extremely battered. I am giving him oxygen, though its possible that we will be followed... I hope that we are not."

There was a moment of nothing going on, seconds of silence as she moved forwards slowly, moving slowly behind the knight's vessel. On his screen, however, it would begin warning of multiple jump signatures. Seconds after the fact, multiple sith fighters dropping out of hyperspace moving forward.

"Attention! The man in that ship is an escaped prisoner from the Sith Empire. Surrender him without a fight and this will not be escalated further! Resistance will not be tolerated!!"

Pyeth cocked his head slightly, hearing the voice in his mind's eye. It sounded desperate, concerned for it's friend. A Force Nexus? He wasn't completely familiar with the term, but if it was anything like his experience on Rishi, with its 'spirit' it was undoubtedly important.

"I see. We will do whatever we can to help you and your friend. Do you have anyway of transporting him into my ship? If not, we have a frigate on the way."

The droid shrieked a warning, Pyeth felt his beak tighten. A darkness descending upon them from Hyperspace, Sith fighters. He finished clearing the deck, securing it and then returned to the cockpit.

"Thank you for the heads up Sith Empire vessel, I'm afraid more context would be required."

He tapped the droid, "Hey droid warn Vera Tillian Vera Tillian ."

The droid groaned but fulfilled his wishes, sending a encrypted message. He knew the Sith vessels would detect the ping.

"We have a Rimward medical frigate en-route. I'm a doctor see, and good doctors aren't in the habit of letting patients bleed out in the middle of space. Even the bad ones. So you can either wait until he is discharged, or you can attack a medical ship in Rimward space."

He was buying time, nothing more. He didn't yet trust his piloting skills to overcome trained pilots. Switching across to his escort, " Corbin Vasher Corbin Vasher you hearing this, what's your assessment?"

"And that-" Vera said after a moment, pinching her nose. "Is why Starchasers get generalships and flag ranks. And most Tillians for that matter," she added after a moment.

There was a slight ripple of laughter from the bridge crew, but the messages rolled back in, and the laughter immediately stopped.

"Bring us to general quarters," Vera said, voice calm and confident. "Is the hyperspace jump prepared?"

"Coordinates locked, aye," the reply came back.

"Very good," Vera considered. Starfighters. Not too many. But they had violated the borders and made demands. It was a hostile border incursion. "Jump us to their location, but far enough out we can have shields and weapons ready. And get the Special Away Team ready."

"Aye, aye." The reply came and the navigator started charting out the jumps, and messages sent.

As a Starchaser, she'd been all around this galaxy, seen some strange things, and had been part of even worse. But there were still some things that even Kaia wasn't expecting to hear. Blame it that she wasn't out there doing too much aside from resources and salvage gathering. Her father and brother were the ones who went on the strange Force and tech forays. Kaia helped find lost pilots and that was about her biggest thing as of late.

Other comms were going on and off, but she was filtering them. Still, Kaia made the hyperspace jump towards the ship, ahead of everyone else. Dropping an A-Wing into a system was going to be a lot different than dropping in the bigger ships. She had to set up and point out for ships to come into system. When she reverted to real space, she was hearing the call from the Sith.

A prisoner? Well, if it was from the Sith…

As she pulled into hyperspace, she was greeted by a lot.

"Drifter, order targets by priority, start feeding this back to Tillian." She started to accelerate to attack speeds.

<I read you, Cousin Pyeth. You made the right call. We don't negotiate or stand down. And I just so happen to have a Letter of Marque against any Sith.>
Corbin filled his senses with the power of the Cosmic Force, coming to life with the energy that flowed through him. His consciousnes filled his ship, allowing him better control of the ship than normal, as he grabbed the controls. It was time to prove to these Sith that his freighter was better than any starfighter. He gunned the ship forward, launching blasts from his ion cannons immediately followed by hit laser cannons. The ship he has targeted hadn't even had time to be surprised before it erupted in flame. Two of the Sith ships came after Corbin and the Tra'tena. They fired volleys of lasers at him, but he swiftly dodged. He reached out, seeking astrogation routes with the Force. He performed a couple of rapid micro-jumps, coming up behind the read ship that had been targeting him and slamming right through it. He then sent a Celyr'ika torpedo at the third. All three Sith ships were now rendered space debris.
Corbin sent a broadcast to the other ships. <We of the Rimward Trade League do not play around. If anyone else wants to dance, bring it. But I suggest you run home. We have pilots on their way who are way better than I am. You do not stand a chance.>
