PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Proton Torpedo | Plasma Torpedo
  • Size: Large
  • Weight: Average
  • Explosive Type: Proton Particle Burst | EMP Burst | Radiation Burst
  • Delivery Method: Fired/Launched and Self-Propelled
  • Effective Range: Battlefield
  • Area Of Effect: Personal
  • Damage Output: Extreme
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Miniaturized components compacted in a large frame for maximum damage output.
  • Proton, Plasma, and EMP torpedo in one.
  • Tibanna Gas is used in the propulsion.
  • Reflec coating.
  • Lock-on Capability.
STRENGTHS
  • Combination shieldbuster and proton torpedo deals radiation and EMP burst damage as well as regular damage.
  • Extra concentrated explosive power compacted into a larger torpedo design maximizes damage output.
  • Each torpedo is self propelled in addition to being fired by the launcher, drastically increasing it range and speed.
  • The torpedoes make use of tibanna gas and reflec polymer to help reduce their sensor visibility.
WEAKNESSES
  • The larger size makes the torpedo easier to see with the naked eye.
  • Torpedo can be shot and detonated before reaching target.
  • An EMP burst close enough to catch it in its radius could potentially disable the lock-on capabilities of the torpedo.
  • Not available to the public.
  • Unlike normal proton torpedoes, they can be stopped by ray shields. However, they can also take down ray shields.
  • Needs a larger-than-normal torpedo launcher in order to be fired..
DESCRIPTION
These torpedoes are combination torpedoes that work as both proton torpedoes and shieldbuster torpedoes and also give off a strong EMP burst. They feature miniaturized innards compacted in a larger frame for maximum damage output, the blast radius being concentrated into a smaller radius than a standard torpedo, so it can more effectively punch through defenses. Once fired, the torpedoes are vulnerable to attacks and can be blown up before reaching their target. The most effective use is to try to snipe an enemy ship with stealth, launching at least two consecutive torpedoes to take down the shields first, and then hit the ship itself. It is possible for the EMP burst of one torpedo blast to effect another torpedo and disable its lock-on, but this normally isn't an issue since the second torpedo is likely nanoseconds from hitting its target anyway. However, if one torpedo is shot and blown up before reaching a target, it could potentially knocking a following torpedo off course and disable the lock-on so that it cannot reacquire the target.
