  • Strengths and Weaknesses

+ Natural Weapons / Flight - Pyeth possesses the ability to fly, providing he is not wearing or carrying heavy equipment. Additionally, he has access to talons and a beak while not capable of penetrating medium or greater armours they make for good climbing and defensive tools.

+ Multilingual - His background as a guide for pirates and merchants, has enabled Pyeth to develop an understanding of commonly spoken intergalactic languages. Including but not limited to Galactic Common, Rodese, and Bothese. And like many Rishii he can be quick to pick up new languages.

+ Botanist - Pyeth has taken an interest in flora over the years and has a good grasp of the basics. He can grow and maintain a small private collection of herbs, weeds, and other plant life he has collected or purchased from merchants. Sadly, his most recent collection was lost with the presumed capture of his fellow crewmates.

+ Apothecary - Pyeth has a good grasp of the production and application of traditional curatives derived from flora.

    - Flock Mentality - Pyeth still maintains a strong desire to one day be reunited with his people. The relationships he has there are important to him and he will do everything in his power to protect their community despite his exile. This mentality extends to his presumed allies as well as creating a naivety that the people he involves himself with have his best interests in mind too.

    - Hollow Boned - His species is capable of flight but that doesn't come without its cost. Pyeth is particularly vulnerable to blunt force attacks.

    - Cleithrophobia - Pyeth's greatest fear is entrapment. He can handle small spaces but being locked in a cell or having his freedom stripped from him is a struggle.

    - Those left behind - Pyeth thought himself to have found a home in the CIS. However, its collapse has once again reminded him of his exile leaving him vulnerable and shaken. He feels resentment for those that abandoned it seeking greener pastures although he would not openly challenge them.
  • Apperance

Pyeth appears like a humanoid hawk. Pyeth has long and strange looking eyebrows, pointed ear tufts, wings and full plumage of feathers. However, he's much lighter than others might expect weighing only 78 Kgs, it could be said he looks fluffy (something he finds to be complimentary) although his actual body is far leaner. These are not typical heights and weights of Rishii.

Pyeth's has a wingspan of 10 & 3/4 feet in length, slightly longer than the average wingspan of his species. His feathers are naturally an earthy brown, speckled with charcoal and cream feathers that extend to his wingtips. Although, he has recently discovered dying and adorns his feathers in different colours and patterns similar to tattoos. Especially so for his wings, which he considers to be his most brilliant feature.

Pyeth's eyes are amazing, if a little strange, to look upon. Resembling those of a hawk, to those familiar with these birds of prey. His eyes are a colour of black on yellow; his pupil is beady black, set against a backdrop of brilliant amber with complex shaded patterns when inspected closely.

Pyeth's hands are dark and claw-like. His legs are not dissimilar, ending with powerful talons, holding surprising flexibility and amazing grip, carrying almost all his weight upon them. He is always barefoot, or rather, baretaloned.

Pyeth prefers light tight-fitting armour and clothes; anything he perceives to restrict too much of his movement is usually a no go for him. While going into battle, he may make an exception to this rule, or if it is necessary by his hosts at gatherings and meetings but he walks awkwardly when wearing such articles.
  • Brief Biography
Pyeth dislikes and fears isolation. He is a social creature that is seeking somewhere to belong in a hostile and alien galaxy. He can be shy, reserved and cautious around those he doesn't know, especially in unfamiliar environments. On the other hand, once he is comfortable he is quite sociable, enjoying the interests of others and willing to share his own experiences albeit avoiding anecdotes that would reveal his past. This is how he grew up, in a small nest where everybody knew each other's names and business, the Raffinki flock on Rishii. He's not entirely comfortable with the Galactic Races yet, though his travelling to date has forced him to work on this issue already.

Once people get to know him, Pyeth is kind-hearted, proper and surprisingly joyful, although he has a gloomy side. He tends to get depressed, but will usually tender such emotions on his own fearing it might push people away from him. This darker side has influenced him and his actions in the past. It scared him, but also invigorated him.
  • Childhood
Pyeth was born and raised within the Raffinki nest, named after the river from which the tribe drew water. His upbringing was typical and once old enough he began assisting his parents and other members of the tribe.

He became interested in medicine after his mother fell ill one frost time. Pursuing this interest, he studied under the healers for some time before encountering the lowlanders. After being introduced to wondrous technologies by infrequent merchants, he began experimenting and learning from the objects they purchased and wasted as a vanity for one's nest. This did not sit well with his elders and the young Rishii was frequently scolded.

It was early in his juvenile years that Pyeth was first introduced to the Force. Tensions between his tribe and the local mining industry had been bubbling over, causing minor skirmishes during the winter months as the Rishii struggled to compete with a recently acquired industry. Equally, a mysterious plague was afflicting the tribe, affecting many of the older members. When the Jedi came he and many of the others expected further trouble, perhaps warriors sent to try and push, dislodge them.

However, Pyeth was pleasantly surprised when they approached the situation diplomatically. Initially, he ignored the pair, but after witnessing the eldest of the pair tending to the wounded and sick she piqued his interest and Pyeth wouldn't be far behind trailing them or asking questions about the outside world. Once the situation had been resolved, however, the pair left.
  • Exile

Less than a year later, Pyeth would undergo a ritualistic hunt with his fellow clutchmates to prove their worth to the nest. Fashioning a spear from scraps and technologies he had gathered, the young Rishi would join his friends Aashi and Vedas in the hunt. Wishing to win the contest, the group agreed to prey upon a pride of Krak'jya that had been giving the nest some trouble, attacking livestock and driving wildlife further from their hunting territories. After spending several days preparing their ambush, they managed to wound and corner the beasts, when a new rival entered their arena. A Maungar drawn to the fighting and scent of blood turned their design against them. As they attempted to flee, Aashi became trapped in brambles.

Pyeth, not wishing to abandon his friend to her death, rushed to her defence. In the ensuing melee Pyeth was injured, coming close to death before somehow pushing his opponent off balance, allowing him to deliver a killing blow, saving Aashi but not before succumbing to exhaustion.

Pyeth woke up in the nest, to find himself subject to a case for exile brought against him by the hunt masters. He killed a sacred beast and while Aashi came to his defence the Vedas did not. Fearing he would somehow bring retribution upon the tribe, the decision was taken to exile Pyeth from the nest.

After leaving the nest peacefully he moved into the valley to take jobs from low-landers as a guide. This enabled him to learn a variety of galactic languages and two years later was fluent in Bothese, Rodese, and other popular galactic languages.

It was around this time, at the age of 15, that tensions began rising again after the local mining industry was taken over and old agreements were forgotten. When Pyeth attempted to return home, hoping to somehow defuse the situation but instead found he made the situation worse. The Chieftain was fully aware of his exploits in the valleys below, using it against him and forcing him once again from the nest.

Frustrated, he began his search again for the enigmatic Jedi, hoping they might somehow mediate the issue as they had done half a decade ago. Redeeming favours he had with some of the locals he learned that the Jedi he was seeking had long since gone off-world. Unable to afford let alone pilot a void craft of his own he instead found himself joining a merchant's crew as an assistant to the ships doctor where he spent the next two years picking up basic skills along the way. The problem was the people he worked for didn't necessarily trade in legal merchandise and eventually, their activities caught the attention of rivals in the market.

This led to a conflict that came to a head on a trip to Nar Shaadar where they came under attack and separated. After attempts to find his new flock failed he began resuming his search for the elusive Jedi. Having little need for money during his time aboard the Rishii had built up a decent sum of capital, enough to at least support his adventures for some time giving him greater freedom.
  • A New Home

Finally, Pyeth believed himself to have found belonging. Discovered by Abel Denko and Fauvel Astier stranded on the planet of Talay he was introduced to the Confederacy of Independent Systems (CIS). Joining the Academy of Light as a Squire he began his training, learning the ways of the Force and how it could be used to heal the injured and assist him in his pursuits. He was quiet but diligent in assisting the Confederacy where he was able, joining Lord Voph and his apprentice in uncovering the secrets of Oricon and assisting in the Red War.

However, not all was well and as the CIS began to dissolve, Pyeth again found himself without a flock. Isolated and disenfranchised, he returned to Rishii hoping to rediscover himself.
