Skirmish threads leading into Invasions?

I just wanted to start a discussion to see what people thought about using said threads that led into their map-changing cousins. If Major factions wanted to do a prelude to Invasion thread via a Skirmish - they're more than welcome to do so, and don't need a rule change to make that happen.

If anything? It's a change in perception that's needed.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't all invasions this season have these? Maybe what we need is not to have more build up, but just make it more easily available for those interested.

The meeting of CIS, SJO, ORC, CC, to discuss what the Mandos were up to. Three of the four factions agree to aggressively do something about it.


I believe there were a few more smaller things but these are the main threads of said build up to UCM getting invaded by the CIS, CIS, and SJO. The invasion UCM had planned on the SJO did help speed things up, but was by no means the main or only reason for it.

But we're hardly the only ones - I've seen good and interesting build up for most of the other invasions as well. This is why I'm more under the impression that build up or lack thereof is not the problem - but the perception of lack of it is.

​I think the point is that that list isn't a co-ordinated story, its not the same as in your own words 'its on the CIS front' that's only half of what matters in an invasion. And, Eshan happened and you have all of this stuff to work with - yet nothing came of it another than another invasion with little more than that to it. Yawn.

You mean a rebuilding thread, more work with the SJO, several characters forever scarred by the events, endless mentions of it in various threads thereafter... The second invasion had little to do with the first.

You misunderstand my words. I said on the CIS front because I am part of this faction. I do not speak for other factions. They are welcome to come here and speak on their own behalf.

​A character can get scarred by dropping their ice cream. A single thread, more work with someone you're already allied with and mentions? All of this is, basically something that could be spawned from a particularly dramatic dominion. This is all on the CIS front, and no you can't speak for other factions but:

​I wasn't misunderstanding you, but if people worked with your supposed enemies outside of invasions then there'd be more than that. You can't speak for other factions, but we'd all have a better idea or be aware of whats going on in the other camp if there was more co-operation. Such as skirmishes.

But they do We can do all the additional skirmishes and other threads that people are interested in, but that doesn't mean that it is currently not happening. It's fine to want more, it's less than fine to claim none exists at present.
