Matsu had found her way while following the indication of energy with the glove nd slowly worked on things. She could do a lot with it before she was feeling some of he others on the world working on things. She doubted there would be full tombs but the feeling of enegy brought her towards some tombs and she thought for a moment it felt like [member="Sochi Ru"] had been here. The scent of a robe hanging in the air and evidence that a large group had been here. One of them massive while she wasn't certain and moving towards the tomb feeling it around pushing some of the rubble aside to enter and search while the sigil on her neck was glowing with the lightside of the force.

Dune had heard the heavy footfalls of the massive apprentice just as clearly as he'd felt his presence. His living energy stood out on this dead world like a fire at midnight. He stood before a sort of stone obelisk, examining the script carved there. "Ancient Sith hieroglyphs," he gestured to the text without turning his head.

He turned to regard the behemoth. "I don't suppose you might be able to read it?". The Bith frowned as he turned back to look at the pillar. " It's probably some boast about the glory or the Sith. Still, it would be nice to know for certain." He sighed as he turned to fully face his companion.

The conflicting emotions in Gwrtheryn's mind stood out to him. An urge to do violence and yet a higher moral calling to resist the dark feelings. "What lovely decor," his voice was deadpan as he gestured around "The grey granite is definitely not oppressive. And the statues of the tarentatek are an inspired choice." He shook his head; the Sith were always so theatrically evil.

The pervasiveness of the Dark Side on Korriban had the Bith slightly more on edge than he'd care to admit. It felt like it wanted to crush him with it's pure malevolence. He simply would not allow it to do so though it was challenging. Of course, his thoughts were carefully guarded against intrusion. He knew how the Dark Side could twist an unwary thought, his body bearing scars of such things.

"At any rate, let's begin searching. I believe the student quartets are to the right. We may find something of interest in their personal effects."

Objective 4: Debunking Maligea - The Historical Liber Mordu
Location: The Valley of Golg

Students of the young historian may recall his interest in the folklore surrounding Maligea.

In myth, a Sith sorcerer who had been banished from Korriban. In popular science, a flight of fantasy presumed to be the work of a Croke.

Bending down, the small Jedi grabbed a handful of soil. And felt the course grains of salt as the dirt slipped between his fingers. No Croke could survive for any extended period of time on Korriban. The sodium and chlorides in the soil and atmosphere were too inhospitable to their physiology. No, Sor-Jan's decades out here...

...out HERE, the Outer Rim. Beyond the Outer Rim. Not stuffed away in some university library.

...his experience in the field had led him to develop his own theory about Maligea. That he was indeed a real person. He just hadn't gone by that name during his lifetime. His name had been Liber Mordu. And he had died in exile on Tash-Taral, where Sor-Jan had found his tomb and come away with absolutely nothing to show for the experience.

What had Maligea been doing on Korriban? What had happened that he was banished from Sith society?

These were questions about the earliest histories of the Jedi's most enduring enemy. And the trick to defeating your enemy was to understand them. Understand where they had come from. How they had come to be. To understand how they affected the world around them, or re-shaped it to their whims.

Standing in the ancient precursor to the Valley of the Dark Lords, the Jedi Archaeologist looked out over a desolate valley of barren waste.

The truth was out there. He would find it. And he would teach it to others.

Because history was a story meant to be told...

The dark energies began to vibrate around her, there were....light siders on Korriban. Arabella laughed a soundless laugh. What were light siders doing on Korriban? Did they not know how deep the darkness ran here?

With all the energy she could find she pushed herself to roll over, from where she lay atop the mound that harbored Adas' tomb she could see down into the Valley of the Dark Lords. The tombs breathed darkness as the spirits of those passed and lingered began to stir. Many would not venture out of their tombs for the light of day was not a friend to them, they needed the darkness or they needed a body to inhabit.

Oh woe to anyone that gets to close to them. Adas' spirit already found a host and Mythos bore that burden in order to wield his power his axe. The sounds of voices began to slowly creep up the walls there were many .

Bella had a choice now, call for help..........a weakness. Or watch...she arched a brow and watched.

There was another darkness....but she could not tell where.

Her arm was numb as if poisoned, she was not a happy camper.

The comments were mundane - gloriously so. Idle chit chat as they were they served to draw his mind away from the pervasive cloying nature of this place and its spectral toxins. No doubt the two were being surrounded by impotent shades that could not fully manifest without the black arts of their living brethren. Alone they might twist one of the quick to madness and savagery especially when the victims nature already had a penchant for such things. Together what whispers and influences they could exert were diminished.

It took Gwrtheyrn a few seconds to find his voice but he did his best to reply to Dune.

"I cannot say I have had much experience with the script of the Kissai. To be quite honest it has been a little over a year since I learned to read basic. Before that it was all runes which I suppose are similar to hieroglyphs but without the pictures of little red men whipping their slaves and flaying virgins that the Sith favor."

Instead of commenting on the tarentatek statue the maelibus settled with putting his fist through its tusked maw cracking its stone skull into fragments that fell to the ground with a slight clatter as they impacted the floor. It made his knuckles hurt somewhat but he though it was an improvement on the previous work and was certain Dune would agree with the sentiment.

As it turned out the student quarter looked like it had already been hit with some kind of indoor tsunami. Cots and spartan beds were overturned , gash and scorch marks adorned the walls and what looked to be the spoor of tukata who had taken up residence in the deserted building littered the ground.

As a poet Gwrtheyrn knew he should be out in the thick of things baring witness to Lord Thurion and Lady Coci as they preformed whatever acts of heroism played out upon this day. However should he go berserk before the pair he was sure that his reputation and possibly even his place within the silver order would be compromised. Instead he would follow Dune and who knew perhaps the knight would end up carrying the day earning himself the position of hero in his own epic.

Korriban had been chosen as the next stage of Silver Sanctum expansion. It wasn't far from their current borders, meaning that it fell within easy jumping distance. Tactically it made sense as well: the planet was a major Sith world and had been for millennia. If the Coalition could take it, fortify it, and hold against all oncoming attacks, it would be a slap in the Sith's collective face. It was puzzling that the Sith hadn't pounced on the place the instant the Primeval had collapsed. The Sanctum had done so with Ossus by the invitation of the Republic and the Jedi Order, specifically to prevent its desecration by the Sith. That planet held a similarly high place in Jedi history as Korriban did. It made one wonder what the Sith thought more important.

For his part, Audren was hesitant to set foot on the planet. To call it strong in the Dark Side would be an understatement from what he was told. As soon as he'd dropped out of hyperspace, the lone occupant of the Hathol, he'd been able to feel the oily stain of the Dark Side of the Force. His was just one of dozens of Coalition vessels making for the planet; he stayed towards the edges like the escort his fighter could be. Done through the atmospheric envelope, then to the staging area near the Valley of the Dark Lords. From there though, he'd peeled off from the pack and began a circuit around the area.

The Valley of the Dark Lords was where most of the Coalition was congregating. Their Light was, surprisingly, vividly present against the darkness. Rather than being smothered by the Dark, the Light held its own. Then came the Academy, a Sith Temple that had stood for centuries. The Force felt different here. At the Valley it had been strong yet diffuse, as if the power had originated from multiple focal points and those had mixed together. The Academy, on the other hand, felt more focused. It reminded him of the Massassi temples, originally Sith temples themselves. They'd been created to focus Sith energies for specific goals...maybe this one had been built in like manner. There were other locations such as a rough-looking town, but as he circled back around towards the Valley something caught his attention.

It seemed there was a fire burning below. That fire was now graced with the presence of several Jedi, only one of which he was familiar with. Further to the east there was a secondary muster point, one that was accumulating construction equipment. That would be the group looking to build a Jedi facility then. The Sephi was tempted to join them, but given his inability to purge the darkness entirely from his lightsaber crystal, that was not his best best placement. He had no doubt they'd be successful; personally he'd build several such facilities evenly around the planet and link them through the Force. One was powerful...more was better.

Ultimately though, the Knight circled back to the Valley of the Dark Lords and landed with the other ships. After another moment of steeling himself, he walked down onto the surface of the planet itself. Physical contact was much more intense than merely flying through the atmosphere had been, yet he focused on the Light Side to focus himself. He wanted to find other Jedi and group with them. He would be more useful examining the tombs however. With lightsaber, vibroknife, and pistol at his belt, Audren picked a tomb at random and began heading in that direction.

Connor walked on, Krux beside him, Karen and her Padawan, Cloudburner, behind. Considering a good number of the Coalition had arrived, the numbers had soon thinned with parties venturing to various areas to establish base camps, settlements and archaeological digs. The Valley was up ahead, and it soon felt like, on the path they were taking, they were the only ones on this route towards the tombs.

Nodding to Krux, Connor looked up, hands behind his back, eyes sweeping the landscape. He could feel familiar Force signatures around him, but also many new ones.

”I feel it too. This place is a sanctum for Sith wanderers who have lost their way. They come to refuel and reaffirm themselves to the Dark among the ghosts of the dead they long to live up to. I am sure we are - ”

Krux moved, bounding upwards, taking himself away up atop the pillars. Connor looked on and shook his head.

” – not alone. Hm.” He turned to the others. ”Eyes open you two. The sniffer hound has a scent and we may have company.”

He continued walking, setting his sights on the far end of the Valley – a simple walk through would be enough for him to create a clear path for anyone following. Now was not the time, for him at least, to go venturing into the tombs and crypts of ancient Sith Lords like some archaeologist-cum-professor.

”I hope not. For their sakes,” Connor spoke to himself.

Storm of the Force

Pushing into the Academy, Tempest immediately felt the danger and the roiling presence of the Dark Side. Shadows curled in the hall, shadows even the sunlight from outside could not fully banish.

“Form firing line, lock and load!” she ordered.

From the shadows came vicious beasts, slinking forward. K’lor Slugs, horrible, vicious worms with mouths full of razor sharp teeth.
“Open fire! Concentrate fire!”

Taking cover, they unleashed a hail of explosive bolts. Creatures were blown apart shrieking, but still they pressed on. What was worse, some of them spat acidic bile. Several troopers were caught by splashes and went down screaming as it ate at their armour and flesh.

Stepping forward, Tempest unleashed an actinic burst of lightning into the creatures to drive them back.

K'lor slugs! K'lor slugs everywhere! Siobhan had already faced these beasts before. On that awful day on Malachor where they'd raced against time to save [member="Coryth Elaris"] from the venomous poison that was killing her and destroy the box of doom. Suffice to say fighting the big worms had been unpleasant.

"Bring out the big guns. Give me a cannon and a shatterbolter salvoe. Deploy the walker!" Siobhan barked out as the horrible, venomous worms charged. Boom. Their screeches were drowned out by the staccato of shattercannons and the loud boom created by a shatterbolter when it fired. Sithspawn creatures were dangerous, but, contrary to what some thought, not invincible. Soon the hallway was littered with the foul cadavres of big worm creatures.

Absurdly over the top firepower was very useful against them. Disgusting, horrific worms were blown apart by the onslaught or literally torn to shreds. However, here and there a Firemane trooper had went down from being bombarded with acidic bile. Pained screams were heard as it ate through armour and flesh.

"Get the wounded away," Firemane had brought some healers, but it could not care for them in the middle of the fight. Pulling upon the tangled web of the Force, Siobhan drew upon her power and unleashed a massive shockwave that rippled across the stone ground. One slug was tossed across the hall, another was impacted with such force that it was ripped apart. Body parts, innards and blood were strewn across the hall.

More screeches were heard when a slug was ignited by the flamer of the Magl'adroth walker when it marched into action, crushing another beast beneath it, for its claws and acid were useless against the behemoth's graphite reinforced armour plating. However, then suddenly a dark mist began descending upon our heroines, strongly reducing visibility for them.

Clearly this was the work of some sort of Dark Side magicks. The moment this happened, Siobhan was suddenly pounced by a slug that seemed to appear out of the shadows. The Countess was knocked down to the ground, and before she could bring up her bolt pistol the beast had sunk its razor sharp teeth into her. Ouch. Thankfully, it could not penetrate beskar and her suit was fully sealed. However, there would be some very bad bruising in her arm. Lifting her free hand, Siobhan fired a bolt pistol at point blank range into the beast. Boom. Even more ouch. The explosive bolt tore through the beast's thick hide. Then a massive telekinetic punch blew apart the creature's skull as if it were a ripe melon. Slug ichor and brain matter were splattered across her beskar armour.

George accompanied by his ranger squad set out for the valley of Sith Lords. It wasn't a too far walk from where the shuttles had dropped them but with each and every step George could feel the darkside penetrating his soul. Each step he had to fight away the dark and let the light prevail inside. A fight that can not be won with lightsabers and pure strength. But George was sure not to let his men know of this discomfort.

As they walked it was an eerie silence, one that tends to happen before bad things do. George broke the silence by instigating a conversation with the squad. "So boys, any of you been to Korriban before?" A somewhat broad question, but it was something. "No sir, from my knowledge there has been no ranger activity on Korriban at all." The squad leader replied professionally, not to give any of his personal feelings get in the way. "Well I guess we are all in the same boat." George replied as he continued to watch all corners of the valley as he was sure there would be something, or someone after them.

Upon exiting the shuttle he and [member="Valae Kitra"] rode in on, Thurion was pleasantly greeted by one [member="Coci Heavenshield"]. He could read her mind just from her troubled expression. "I know," he told her without her having even said anything as he embraced his wife, greeting her with a kiss. They were soon joined by [member="George O Rourke"], another member of the Assembly and a stalwart champion of the Order for years. "This world has served as the foundation of Sith teachings," he spoke aloud for anyone to hear. "There resides an ancient darkness here, unfathomable and permeating, but there cannot be darkness without light. Remember this." He turned to his padawan.

"Val, can you feel it? The Dark side of the Force is palpable here, as if you can just reach out and touch it. Do not to let it take hold of you; it will attempt to seduce you through lies and deceit, offer you the impossible to achieve the impossible. It will fill you with power like it is a drug, only to leave you an empty husk of a person in the end." Getting to know the temptations of the Dark side was equally important as learning to rely on the Light side of the Force, as all beings are filled with a bit of both. "If you start to feel unwell, be sure to let us know. We will help you combat the darkness if necessary," he reassured the young woman.

Watching George take off with a squad of rangers, Thurion turned to his wife. "Now then, who's ready for some exploration?" he asked eagerly.

She kept a keen eye on George as he moved off with the Rangers. A good friend of hers, she hoped he would stay out of trouble. It also worried her that his visions of his parents might come back or be used against him, but he is far stronger now and much learned in the ways of the force and has the ability to see through the lies.

Good solid words of wisdom Thurion spoke to his padawan, both of them would remain vigilant to Valae just in case .. the darkness is strong here, writing in the very fabric of the place, the padawans are at risk and all Jedi need to be wary of this. "Good to see you again Padawan Kitra. Stay within visual range of all Jedi just in case. There is more here that lurk in the shadows then a few spirits", the tombs are littered with Force Ghosts of Sith Lords, also their guardians at the 'gates' are there to protect the tombs, there are hounds of the sith and more, much much more.

Her brow raised oh so slightly with amusement at just how eager Thurion was to get to exploring this place. Personally Coci wanted to burn it, it would save the galaxy so much pain and suffering to do so. But this is not the Jedi way, she knows this, but still..

"Lead on", she said back with jest in her eyes. She would not let him go first of course, yes he is her husband and she loves him beyond death, but foremost he is the grand master and needs to be protected. So Coci moved forward, and proceeded toward the two large sentinel towering statues. As she passed she looked up into their faces, there was none to be found yet behind the cowl there was movement as if the face changed and would reflect that of the onlooker. A reflection of one's self in light and dark, a twisted image of an individuals darker side.

"To the tombs, Thurion? .. shall we pay our respects to the dead".

Objective: Explore the Valley of the Dark Lords
Post: 2/20

Valae inched closer to Thurion and Coci, the strange energy here was unnerving, but she felt safe in the presence of the two Masters. The fact alone that this planet was the resting place to Sith Lords brought about a sense of foreboding, and as Thurion had said, the dark forces in this place were tangible. It was almost as though there was a heavy veil that settled upon her, she could feel the weight pressing upon her shoulders. Valae listened to her Master’s words of warning.

“Yes, Master.” She said with a nod. “I understand.”

The thought that the power of this world would try to turn her to the darkside was frightening. She imagined it would be like ghostly figures beckoning to her, but shook the thought away and returned to the present. Her attention turned to Coci, and she bowed in greeting to her. Valae would do just as she suggested, she would stay close to the group. She drew in a deep breath and cleared her mind, trying to maintain her awareness and to keep the darkness at bay.

“It is nice to see you too, Master Heavenshield.” She offered a smile to Coci.

Valae walked along close behind the two Jedi Masters, and she let her eyes begin to explore their surroundings. Her gaze was drawn upwards towards two large statues that stood guard before the entrance to the tombs. As Master Coci hinted that they would be going inside, Valae’s eyes grew a bit wider. She didn’t even want to think about the kinds of specters that waited for them within the walls of the ancient tombs.

"If only it were that easy with a real tarentatek," he commented with a smile after Gwrtheryn's huge fist obliterated the head of a statue. "Unfortunately, even you would have more difficulties against one." With that, they went down the hallway and found themselves in the dormitory. It was a mess, beds overturned and scraps of clothing scattered everywhere.

"The scorch marks look somewhat faded. Whoever did this is certainly long gone with any valuables." Even here on Korriban, looters still existed. He hoped the libraries were untouched being as books and data cards held little interest for thugs. They wanted credits and things to sell though they'd take juvenile glee in the destruction of literature.

His musings on the prospects of finding information were broken by the sounds of a large weapon discharging. Then the cacophony of a fight being joined. Dune looked up at the gigantic apprentice. "Sith, perhaps. We should find out at any rate." The Bith retraced his steps down the hall towards the entrance. Being that the Dark Side was so strong here, it would be hard to pick out individual Sith until closer.

Coming up behind the conflict, Dune saw Coalition forces in the thick of fighting with K'lor'slugs. He wondered why he and his companion hadn't been ambushed themselves. Perhaps the slugs had been elsewhere and attracted by the noise. At any rate, it was time to help stack the odds in the Coalition's favour.

Reaching out through the Force, he seized one of the predators savaging troopers and proceeded to slam it into a side wall. It crumpled into a heap but Dune wasn't done with the foul creature. Lifting it, he flung the corpse at another slug which knocked it aside and temporarily pinned it long enough for troopers to ionize it. "Oh, one thing before you engage them," he said casually without turning his head "They're venomous, so be careful."

Dredge looked out onto the horizon and he could see the small little base camps coalition forces were starting to set up, he could feel the Jedi master's presence at the other end of the valley. So before he got to the main course it was time to have an appetizer, something to warm himself up with.

"Set loose your riders, burn their camps and kill them."

"That's the first good idea you've had all day." Dredge said in response the voice within.

Placing his fingers up to the dark shroud of his helmet the Vong let loose a sharp whistle from outside the cave, and what returned from inside was the sounds of engines revving hard and blasters priming up. The warlord gave a little smile and soon charging out past him were over two dozen speeders bikes with Graug riding atop them, as if they were a biker gang straight from the pits of hell.

Reaching out his hand the warlord grabbed onto one of the larger bikes yanking him forward so he could mount the back of the bike and push forward with the other Graug. The bikes zoomed through the valley of the dark lords and honestly Dredge could feel the evil pulsating from every tomb, every crypt, and it felt good. To be surrounded by those who understood you even in death was a nice feeling, as they say misery loves company.

"My lord! Silver camp closing in fifty meters!" The Graug rider yelled to Dredge on the back of the bike.

"Split formation and use half your men to keep any reinforcements busy, the other half will accompany myself to end the camp!" Dredge said to the rider in front of him.

"As you wish my lo- Gah!" A blaster bolt interrupted the Graug's sentence killing him instantly.

Shoving aside the dead body Dredge mounted the bike himself and as his orders pertained the group split and Dredge along with twelve other Graug went headfirst into the camp. Taking his own speeder bike the man bailed from it and sent it into the small camp's forward line causing it to explode violently.

"No survivors." Dredge said on his comm link then brought his blade down on coalition researchers and other personnel.

Krux and Connor smelled blood. Erm, a corpse maybe. Because anything that came out of this valley was almost certainly, a corpse. It was just that classy of a setting. Lovely.

"Very well. Lead on Jedi Mullarus. I shall gladly see this scent for myself. And dispatch it, if need be. Bah. ....Heaven knows we didn't get all dressed up for nothing."

Roberts shrugged and touched her helm,

"Cruiser Two this is Escort One do you copy."

~ "We hear you Escort. What's the situation?" ~

"We are approaching contact point with enemy mages. Requesting additional forces to my AO. Over."

~ "Request confirmed. Sending Ranger division to your AO now. ETA three minutes." ~

"Much obliged Cruiser Two. Escort One over and out."

Karen nodded to the others. Back up was on the way. After all. Major Factions don't play. And Karen Roberts don't mess around.

Fascinatingly enough, Dredge had already engaged SSC forces planetside. Good. Maybe that would teach the SSC what a terrible idea this whole mission really was. Let's go to Korriban, they said. It will be nice this time of year, they said. I doubt we won't find any Sith Lords of unquantifiable destruction, they said.

Bah.

Anyway. At least now she'd get to lay it on nice and thick with the soldier boys. Casualties always made the generals more inclined to spend their money on the big bombs and air support anyway.

Nuke it from orbit, she'd say. It's the only way to be sure.

Judah nodded to the siblings. They were looking to him to help determine a location for the enclave. His personal thoughts on the matter were they should not be taking the world, and it would take a long time for them to purge the darkness. It would be well after Judah's life had passed he feared.

"The first thing to purge the darkness would be to stop this pyre, but that isn't in our objective here. Have we surveyed the area to the northeast of the pyre here? I believe there was a small hill leading into the rock face. If we can get the excavators in here, we can begin to work an enclave into the cliff side as long as it is stable."

The building material was going to be interesting. There was the prefab buildings the SSC had used to help establish a Corellian relief colony. Judah believed this was the best course of action. There was a need to put something up right away so the work teams could remain for the larger project. The master turned to the E'ron siblings.

"Have the droids meet us near the location I suggested, and whatever supplies are needed. Samara and I will begin to mark out the layout of the temporary housing. Once that is set, we can begin to look into boring into the rock face and see what we are dealing with. If you see anyone on your way that isn't doing anything, send them over our way."

Judah turned to [member="Samara Raine"].

"It is time for you to learn a new skill as we deal with this rock. While they get the droids, I can take some time to show you. Today's work will give you plenty of time to get it right, so don't focus on making it perfect, just focus the skill itself."

With the force Judah picked up a rock, and looking at it, he motioned for Samara to watch. The stone dissolved into dust, and he smiled.

"This will help us form the rooms in the rock."

Cloudburner sensed an even more obvious stench of the Dark Side now. He took his Lightsaber out and it powered up, glowing to him, calling to him. He followed his Master, and hoped to get another lesson in fighting Sith.

"I have a really bad feeling about this place, Master. Sith seem to be everywhere, but nowhere. We must ready ourselves of a sneak attack upon us, Sith do not play games with their territories, especially with this one. It has history."

He held a grim look to himself. He was not embracing the Dark Side, or feeling negative emotions, but his look was sinister. If he had been inside a temple somebody would surely mistake him for a Sith, but he wasn't. He then put his hood upon his head.

As the group ventured forth exploring, she started to feel like something in the air was changing. It was getting difficult to breathe, and she started to feel a bit dizzy. She thought that it was one of the effects of this planet, and this dizziness she was feeling would be the Dark Side trying to influence her mind. They were in a place where there were a lot of Sith tombs after all, so nothing that was so shocking. She wondered if the others were like this as well, yet she wasn't that sure, since practicing illusions and telepathy for months, she newly started to become aware of the voices or influences of the nature. Shielding her mind for a possible invasion, she continued walking in the back of the group, trying not to think about the dizziness that much. Every step she took, her breathes started to become heavier and heavier. The tombs... They were slowly walking towards the tombs, and then the dizziness left its place to some inaudible whispering. "Okay... This is getting a bit complicated." She talked to herself, yet this was indeed exciting. She wondered what the voices were talking about, but as they continued going, the voices get clearer and clearer, until she could hear one single word, that almost made her jump in shock.

"Come."

The voice was familiar, that familiar that it felt like it was from the past even. Curiousity getting the best of her, she thought it would be rude to decline the invitation. Yet, leaving the group would be a suicide in this planet she didn't know as well. Thinking what to do, she continued walking towards the tomb with the rest of the group. To the voice. It seemed like fate already decided what she was about to do.
