The Order of the Silver Jedi Presents…
Silver Social 2020!

ldwUzSs.png

At home on Kashyyyk, the capital of Silver Space and at the heart of the Order of the Silver Jedi, the Silver Assembly has organized a social event for all friends and members of the Silver Jedi to take a load off and take the opportunity to appreciate the good things in life!

While the Silver Jedi are forever under the pressures of service to the Force and to the Galaxy, putting themselves at risk, standing ward between the violent and the victimized, today the Order wishes to remind their own of the simple pleasures and freedoms for which many thousands of peoples have been able to enjoy thanks to their hard lived efforts.

Today’s stage brings us to the very lawns of the Silver Rest, the Silver Jedi Temple responsible for the training and service of Jedi past and present. Littered about the grounds are various stands and stalls operated by volunteers who have organized their own various goods free for all to explore and enjoy. Some of these stalls consist of games and competitions while others are serving hot foods, not all of which are entirely healthy but delicious all the same.

On the front lawn set before the face of the Silver Rest however is the largest and busiest area, where these stalls are set up. In the center is a particular Jedi Knight Caedyn Arenais who’s manning the BBQ and cooking for all students, mentors and friends of the Order all. Nearby his stand, is a potluck where the cafeteria staff are minding over, where others can contribute their own offerings to the day's over-all success and the pleasure of those in attendance.

Starting near dusk and due to go into the night, the Silver Social is a celebration of friendship and prosperity, a time to come together, whether meeting new people or enjoying the time with friends and family. Towards the end of the night, there will be a fireworks display to end things with a bang! But that’s getting ahead of things, as the event’s just getting started...

With speakers set around the Silver Rest with a variety of pleasant music playing overhead, come one and all, get yourselves some good food and join us in what’s set to be a wonderful time!

This is a Social Thread for the Order of the Silver Jedi and all those who wish to celebrate the event in friendship with the Faction.

Objectives:
  • Mingle and make friends!
  • Enjoy the delicious foods on offer, free of charge!
  • Music, dancing, games (imagine a fair held by Jedi).
  • The end of the evening will be celebrated with a magnificent fireworks display!
Come and join us, whether you're wanting to start on friendly terms with us, or enjoy existing friendships!

Leave all weapons behind, this is the heart of Silver Space and fighting will not be part of this event.

Jamie could barely contain her excitement as she exited the temple with some of the more early partygoers, leaving it uncharacteristically alone. Kiegan had actually given her some space and instead gave her 40 credits to go enjoy herself instead of being chaperoned by him. Her brother had refused to elaborate but the pair had been together for years now and she knew he was just going to go strike out with some more women. A nice thought that she could keep in her head to further enjoy the festival.

It was the first Jedi festival that the younger Lysle would be allowed to enjoy by herself, the ability to make some new friends from around the galaxy without her brother there to drive them off made the girl ecstatic. She was glowing as she approached the entrance to the Silver's Rest, this attitude being noticed by some of her fellow padawans.

"Is this your first time to the festival?" A younger Nautolan boy asked, his own excitement being clear in his tone as Jamie nodded in response. "It's only my second, but I can show you around if you want!"

The offer was greatly appreciated and Jamie wanted to take him up on it, but for now, all the padawan wanted to do was grab some food. Might as well put some good use to the money that her brother gave her.

Tulan Kor was a lot of things.

But a man who enjoyed parties wasn't one of them.

Or, really, anything. Hard to tell with him, what he actually liked doing besides killing the people who used to be his boss. Sith-hunting was all well and good, but he couldn't (much to his chagrin) do it all the times.

Sometimes, the Silver Jedi had him doing crap details, or leading security. And thanks to recent incursions against the SJO's premiere hotspot for being attacked (Silver Rest was attacked at least once or twice a week at this point), Tulan had taken a page from Setter's book and provided the Rangers for a show-of-force and security presence.

Out-of-sight, and out of mind.

Life through a scope was easy, life through a scope was simple. And up in here in the sniper's nest, kitted out- Tulan was maybe not happy, but maybe at peace. Plus, what they didn't tell you about it all... was that you had the best seat in the house for the fireworks.

"Kor, radio check."

There was a reluctance to come from Gida in the first place. What is this gathering for? What could she even get out of such? She sighed at her thoughts as she walked towards the front lawn of the silver rest. She knew why she was there, she was alone in the galaxy. There had been people she had met on her long journey to Silver Rest to begin with but now that she was here? No one. She had no friends, no acquaintances, no one to call on in a pinch and more importantly no one to just.. talk to. The hope was to just build some bridges here, any at all.

It was no surprise she was new to many here. She hadn't been in the order long, she could even count all the people she knew within the order on her hand. Though she as always stood out in her own unique way, her actions showing someone from an age long gone. None the less she resigned herself to atleast try to fit in. All this thinking lead her before the BBQ. She was taken aback quickly in how much time she had lost to her own thoughts but now that she was there her stomach rumbled. A few twitches from her Lekku to signal her embarrassment lead her to finally speak to the man before her.

"Can I just get one of something please..."

Making her way across the temple grounds, Amani couldn’t help but crack a smile. So many different setups scattered across the venue she didn’t know where to begin, but she was glad for an excuse to step back from Jedi duties and just enjoy the evening.

The padawan opted to start with the most important thing of all: food. Before long she was stuffing her face with a handful of sweets, attempting to find a place to sit and take everything in. She swallowed her last bite and wiped her hands clean, now antsy for something to do, but lacking the initiative to go find it.

Amani idled in her seat, subconsciously people watching and living vicariously off the positive energy that filled the event. She twiddled with her braid, keeping an eye out for familiar faces. Or new ones. Pretty much any excuse to get up and stop being a wallflower for a bit.

When he'd bought the turkey leg, it had been with the idea that he'd be the one who'd get to enjoy it.

Instead, he had an amphistaff who seemed to have declared it pet food. Looped around the Pantoran's torso, the Yuuzhan Vong biot had the purple-haired boy trapped in a vice as it helped itself to the fair food.

Wiggling an arm free, the boy managed to pull a piece of skin and meat away from where the triangular head of the snake-like head of the biot was presently ripping out chunks of turkey with its serrated maw.

Coming back to Kashyyyk was easy. Théodred Heavenshield Théodred Heavenshield had a small residence for the family -- originally from before Thora had come along, but it still suited for when a visit to the Silver Rest was called for.

He hadn't actually come here to take in a fair. In truth, he wasn't even certain just where he was even going. He'd helped to hold off the Bryn'adul at Nadiem, buying time for Maokai Bantam Maokai Bantam and Ever Dawnracer to evacuate the last refugees to safety. And now... he wasn't sure. The hyperdrive on the Equinox had been running low on fuel. The Silver Rest had been the closest friendly starport where he knew he could get lunch while re-stocking the ship.

Discovering the fair had been an unexpected bonus for the trip. It was nice, actually. It reminded him of the celebrations back on Midvinter. The idle moments in which the Pantoran could let his guard down and pretend, just for a moment, to be the boy that he appeared to be.

...at least until an amphistaff decided to usurp his lunch plans.

Metis was a little self conscious, she was wearing a dress, attending a function. In truth it was somewhat more rustic then the gala's and balls she had attended as a Handmaiden, but there even at court her role was clear, she knew what topics could and should be discussed, the etiquette and pageantry that was customary at the Theed Palace.

At the Silver Jedi on Kashyyk formal attire and propriety were at best embarrassing at worst you were seen as an arrogant snobbish brat. Metis was therefore unsure of her place or her role at this event. It was worst even then her recent mission to Eshan to monitor the succession of the Echani Queen. Metis found it ironic that she was more comfortable at a stuffy noble court event where assassination were always a possibility rather than a simple day at a fair.

Metis entered the clearing with a shy smile. A padawan noticed her and stopped talking to his friends. The group of teenagers turned to stare, they appeared to be in shock. Afew of the edi’s noticed the commotion, gave their own amused smiles at their padawans reaction. Metis blushed furiously, thinking that perhaps she had overdressed.

There didn’t seem to be much happening, other than a gathering around the BBQ. Metis managed to gather herself and join the discussion.

“So what usually happens at these gatherings?” Metis asked nervously, deciding a bit of harmless chit chat couldn’t hurt. “Is their an itinerary? I wasn’t sure it didn’t say on the invitation”

Metis realised such an informal event was unlikely to have anything close to an itinerary. Metis grabbed a snack to put in her mouth to stop her from blathering on. Then one of Metis favourite songs came on.

“Oooh I love this song! Come dance with me!” Metis exclaimed grabbing the closest person to her in this case a Blue Twi’lek. Gida'Vida Gida'Vida

Metis twirled grabbing the hems of her dress as she did so. Metis entered into a basic Echani dance. Gliding through a series of fencing steps and arm movements. If one looked closely they could tell, the dance itself was actually reminiscent of martial arts. It was one of the more effective way to learn as if it was a dance, when done correctly it was beautiful like a deadly ballet.

While the music played overhead through the speaker system set up around the Silver Rest, Caedyn's head bobbed to the beat as he manned the BBQ; his handiwork over the grill had resulted in a fine selection of burgers, sausages, meatballs and other delicious meats ready for those whom came his way for a good feed.

Truth be told, Caedyn was thoroughly enjoying himself and found himself glad to have volunteered for the organization of the event. He personally needed a positive and carefree time, and so did his Padawan Kyra Perl Kyra Perl whom had been avoiding all things social of late. Between his duties to her and his role as a Jedi Knight in general, Caedyn didn't often find himself with much time for social affairs himself, and he could count his friends on one hand. Perhaps even less, which wasn't encouraging.

Largely, he'd been feeling the absence of his Girlfriend, as well as a strong lack of personal ties to others of the Knight and Master body of the Order. While it was always admirable to be involved and productive in one's work, life wasn't easy when you didn't have many others to lean on, or enjoy the good times with.

"Can I just get one of something please...".
Caedyn looked up at the sound of the voice and soon noticed the young Twi'lek, Gida'Vida Gida'Vida standing there looking particularly interested in the food he was serving up. "Of course, everything's up for grabs, and there's plenty to go around" Caedyn tapped the portable cooler down on the ground beside the BBQ with his foot, suggesting it to be full with reserves.

"What'ya after?".

Sakadi gracefully maneuvered through the crowds that had gathered around the stalls. She looked as dreamy and absent minded as ever, and yet she somehow managed not to bump into anyone. She had finally managed to obtain a fruit skewer after what felt like hours of waiting. Not being able to speak up truly was a disadvantage at events like this.

Her gaze shifted through the groups of Padawans and Knights, hoping to spot some familiar faces among them. While she recognized some of them, the Jedi Master couldn't find any she considered to be a friend at first glance. It wasn't really a surprise, for she liked spending most of her time alone. Of course, that resulted in knowing and interacting with only a few people. Something that really backfired on occasions like this.

Deciding that a little peace and quiet wasn't such a bad choice either, the Sephi headed towards one of the less crowded areas, hoping to find a quiet place to just sit down, watch, and enjoy the event.

Kyra secluded herself from the rest of the gathering. Caedyn had ordered to her to come and true be told, part of her really did want to. The other part of her was still nervous, and the shitty thing was she wasn't even sure why.

She loved parties. She loved friends.

The BBQ sat on the edge of the lake. Off in the distance the red head could be seen kneeling at the water front, doing... something she shielded with her body and robes.

Water balloons.

The girl bit her lip, using the force to help her shove more water into the stiff rubber and expand the balloon until it bulged at the seems. How many could she carry on her? Four? Maybe five.

Oh. Peeps were in for it now.

It was her first Silver party as a Jedi, she has been to others with her parents but Dreidi had made her own way to this one, adamant to enjoy herself and not have her parents hover around and tell her how to behave. Dreidi placed her hands in her jeans and looked around with a small smile. It was nice to have a break from everything, all the adults were acting so stiff and worrisome. Like everyone was going to die tomorrow, but it was fine! At least Dreidi never saw anything that was dangerous to her.

Looking over, Dreidi spotted Kyra Perl Kyra Perl filling balloons with water and could not suppress a giggle as she made her way slowly over to her. Stretching her limbs, she tried to sneak up on Kyra and the pounce on her. "Hey! What are you up to? We should add some slime to them! Make them gooey be even funnier!" Dreidi chuckled deeply.

"We're actually here...and here I thought you were trying to play a terrible joke on me," said Sariya.

Gir handed the echani woman a drum stick, "Every once and a while, it's good to return to your roots. Remember who and why we were actually fighting."

The pale-skinned woman grasped the drum stick and gingerly took a bite of it, "This is good, not quite what I was expecting...but good. Also, that rationale is terrible. We should on Hast if that was the case."

The blonde man's face darkened. Going into self-exile from his homeworld had been difficult, but necessary to help protect both him and the world from the attention of the Sith Empire. I can't dwell on that thought though...The man turned his gaze to sweep across the rest of the festivities. Some people had jumped into the festivities with both feet, while others skirted away or blended into self-isolation even in the midsts of the crowds. He turned his attention back to the woman.

"I don't fight for my homeworld," said the blonde man, "I fight for ideals and principles."

"Okay mister high-minded Jedi idealist...but I guess that's why we're here, isn't it? Do you fight for the principle of fun?"

"As a matter of fact, I do..."

With that, the man from Hast guided her towards a carnival game booth.

Speaking of BBQ, Varindar was manning a different station with karkan ribenes and other grill recipes, and quickly other people were fanning out in search for food. While other people would rather play with water balloons, and others still preferred to dance, such as Metis Athena Elpis Metis Athena Elpis , there were some people who were mostly interested in the food, such as the fruit skewers. She also had kebab skewers at the ready if anyone was so inclined, and the same went of karkan ribenes. As for carnival booths, there was one right next to her BBQ stall, and it was about hitting as hard as one could with a sledgehammer. She would love to try it, but there were karkan ribenes being grilled.

She listened to the man at the BBQ as she contemplated what she wanted. A sausage would be nice.. though a paddy of some kind would also be great. She realized she didn't even cafe what it was so long as it was on bread, with sauce of some kind, especially with sauce.. "What'ya after?" Caedyn Arenais asked her. Catching the eye of a juicy piece of meat on the BBQ she goes to point at it when a stranger grabbed her by the wrist, pulling her to a make shift dance floor. “Oooh I love this song! Come dance with me!” The only words she heard from Metis Athena Elpis Metis Athena Elpis before she was pulled away.

Gida stood there in her usual clothes and feeling very under dressed suddenly. Once her partner starts to dance however things change, the woman appeared to be fighting more then dancing. She took it slow, observing how the steps were made, the fine details in the movements and then did her best to imitate the dance before her. Dancing was not a thing she knew but fighting was, and those movements, however subtle, helped guide her into the closest thing she's gonna get to a dance without experience.

"Slow down, please.. You're going a bit too fas-"
She was cut off as she almost fell over but continued once she regained her balance. "Bit too fast for me.."

Ura seemed way more comfortable than it ever did before in a gathering like this. Awkward. Yes. But she was actually more normal now. She whirled around, just looking like a dust devil as she practically flew around and saw everything. She was excited. Ura chuckled a little when she saw Kyra, noticing that she wasn't around any.... What were those. She walked over slowly, not sure what to say as she saw Dreidi with her.

"Um.... What are those?"

It had been an odd few days. Acaadi was out of the hospital now, but he felt there was still a long way to go before recovery. Those large leaps that had been so easy now had a mental block in front of them. He could feel the Force around him, the strength coming back to him, but something froze him into inaction.

He arrived alone. He had proposed meeting up beforehand to Kyra, but she had been very cagey about it. She had been pulling back from him again. It was frustrating and left him feeling none of the clarity that they had found together.

He was considering talking to her mentor. That would feel like going behind her back. That conversation wouldn't go well, not with all that doubt.

Acaadi was thinking a lot of things and at no point had it occurred to him that Kyra was currently filling up water balloons.

The spot before him because empty as Gida'Vida Gida'Vida was pulled away rather suddenly.

"Er..." went Acaadi, watching her go. "Nerf burger?" he asked Caedyn Arenais

It was Rhyanna's first Silver Social. She was pretty new to the Order, after all, and she wanted to make some friends. She would try to avoid the crowds, as was usual for her, but hopefully she could meet some new people without getting swarmed. She'd been doing little jobs sometimes when she wasn't busy with training, so she had some credits to spend on food and games. Overall, she was looking forward to the night.

Her smile flickered as she walked onto the lawns and saw all the people milling about, but it returned to her face as she reminded herself she could avoid the larger groups. She scoped out the festivities, a habit from her days as a street urchin. Her eyes landed on the front lawn with the BBQ set up in the center. She felt dizzy for a moment, what with all the people there, but shook her head and looked away, making a mental note to avoid that area. The food there looked pretty good though...

Rhyanna scanned the other booths for one selling something similar (and one that was less crowded), and spotted one that seemed to have some grilled food. She started making her way over to it, sticking to the edges away from the crowds. When she got there, she smiled at the woman behind the stand, Varindar Asyt Varindar Asyt , and looked over the different things she was selling. She eyed the fruit skewers and karkan ribenes with particular interest. She was looking to try some different kinds of food, expand her horizons, and she had never eaten either of those before.

Hmm. When would she get an opportunity to eat either of these again? Which should she pick... Oh, I'll just buy both. I have enough credits anyway. "Can I have a fruit skewer and a karkan ribene?" she asked.

She hadn't been one for parties when she was young. Being an Echani she had never been interested in parties as she had viewed them as frivolous investments of time that could otherwise have been used to train or do just about anything else. But, as she had been told, a queen was expected to participate in such events for appearances sake. Even an Echani queen could not avoid them. She made every effort to do so, but ultimately she had been sucked into going to this one.

Being of white skin, she had chosen a dress that fit, and would draw the eye. Naturally she was also adorned in her circlet, signifying her status, and she was accompanied by two Hardfiber droids, though she instructed them to remain in the shadows and not draw attention to themselves. Not that they wouldn't draw some attention. Droids of their caliber and appearance we're bound to get stares, at least while they were visible. Shed made them so they would learn to make their lives in the shadows.

It was a bustling affair and she did have to admit that she was hungry. None of the people gathered, at least that she could immediately see, we're familiar to her. That made things both difficult and exhilarating at the same time. But first something to eat. Not something particularly heavy, but perhaps something with a bit of natural sweetness to it. She spotted someone with fruit skewers and thought those might do the trick if she found out where they came from.

For the moment she merely meandered down the vendor row, looking for something to eat. And only stopping behind Rhyanna Li`Anek Rhyanna Li`Anek when she finally spotted the fruit she was looking for. Though she was polite and would wait her turn to speak with Varindar Asyt Varindar Asyt in order to get one.

"Can I have a fruit skewer and karkan ribene please?" Rhyanna Li`Anek Rhyanna Li`Anek asked Varindar.

"How would you like your karkan ribene, rare, medium or well-done?"

Someone's well-done was another's medium, and she knew, from her experience as a gourmet rôtisseuse working in some restaurant in a five-star hotel on Trandosha that customers ordering two very similar meals in the same party, if not the same meal, often quarreled between each other about meat donenesses. Trandoshans, Kubaz, Niktos, racial considerations only made doneness conflicts worse. However, the gourmet fruit skewer the Twi'lek was about to be given was, in fact, made of several fruits: muja fruit, Trandoshan pineapples, Trandoshan grapefruit, black grapes and green apples, with a marshmallow on one end. Because the fruit skewer was to be served cold, it was served first, with raw, marinated spare ribs being in a container, just awaiting customers ordering the Trandoshan grilled meal. All it took was the Twi'lek padawan choosing a doneness before that stuff would actually be cooked. Much like some Jedi guests, it would probably be one of those handful of occasions where the guest in front of her would be given a chance to eat a gourmet meal.

"Here's your fruit skewer"

Kiran often tried to avoid the party scene. And while this was a get together for the faction, he had initially intended on staying behind in his room and catching up on his sleep. He had been extremely tired he recently and he wasn't sure what the cause was. Kiran hadn't deviated from his normal routine other than the extra force and saber trainings that he had been attending. Perhaps that was it, regardless he wanted to sleep.

Something was telling him to go have a little fun. His bed would always or at least he hoped it would.

The padawan made his way towards the front lawns as he could start to hear loud chatter, laughter and the like from where he was. Tha't was a good thing. Kiran noted as he stopped just a few feet before the first booth. It smelled so good out here. Kiran giggled slightly as he made his way through the small gathering crows amidst the dancing. The padawan set his sights on the cooking that was being organized by Caedyn Arenais It smelled pretty amazing.

"Hey Caedyn, do you need any help?" The Padawan asked curiosly.
