The shanty town become larger getting supplies and dividing into areas of the city. The older families who have been there taking sections for their own and working together but also against each other for supplies and favors with mining materials.
    • New Reach: The central prison and in the times when the Sisterhood created it to put those who came and threatened their power. It was buried deep in the earth but has since with overpopulation expanded into a small city. The honeycomb of tunnels and caves before going up into shanty towns and poor districts. The miners work hard to have a life and the deeper one lives the closer to the leadership.

Middle Level: The workers and somewhat in charge, they might not be families with lots of history but they have shown they are smarter or stronger and have people under them while they get to move somewhat into the underground sections of the city. A status symbol since they do not have to face the elements on the surface.
Surface Miners: The lowest of the planet, considered the expendable memebrs who were hit heaviest by the plague and weather. Their status is as new meat for whoever wants or needs them to work and drifting from area of the city to area is common as they look more for shelter.

  • Technology: Primative Slugthrowers, lavenroks, warblades and beskar'gam crafted from the metal on the planet.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The history of the planet is less impressive, when the sisterhood of Taungs called the warriors of shadow found the world. Fearing their power being overtaken with declining numbers compared to the slaves they took the leaders of the humans and put them in a ship. Then sent it into the planet through a crack burying it. Overtime and with minimal tools they managed to get topside and learn of some of the news.

Sparse communications, varied shipments of food and tools. The survivors bred and grow stronger until their population increased and news of Shri-tal's liberation came. The government leaving them on the planet to secure its power and sending those who disagreed to join them. Each shipment bringing supplies and new people to keep the genepool fresh.

The large purpose of them dying lost as more and more got exiled or imprisoned, visitors to the system searching if they weren't careful crashing to the planet and becoming trapped. With more time a deal was made with the planet... a forced deal that was purely one sided but it could prove useful as in the end food was coming regularly instead of through spare and rushed shipments often spoiling along the way.

The prisoners and their families were casteless, exiled to the world and would never b allowed off the planet. They were given the chance to mine the planet for ore or anything of value. With an agreement the people of Shri-tal worked to make some idea of life for them with shanty towns that could protect from the cold in the winter and the elements but not much else.

Then the Clone wars came to the galaxy and the CIS with a heavier presence in the outer rim came to the Asobi system. Setting up more mining stations for the droids and discovering deposits on the moon. Above the planet using the debris field of the destroyed ships from sending prisoners they created a laser field for any ship that might try and get off the planet. The residents calling it and ancient name for the sisterhood. Something that wasn't pleasant.

With the clone wars over, the empire moved in continuing the operations and sending more from both Shri-tal to the world and from other planets. Species they had never really seen before like wookiee's and even a hutt. The prisons population soured to higher numbers before leveling out through the twenty years. With the rebellion forming and fighting back there were less prisoners and the troopers overseeing the miners were pulled out.

Soon after nothing seemed to change, Shri-tal sent people still, the miners worked for food and clothing, the exports from the planet were decently wanted and the moon the empire had begun mining on was left alone. They settled into life once again until the darkness and plague came killing all but a fifth of the population and leaving the planet as well as the system for a small time cut off from the galaxy.

With time healing some wounds as it were the system and planets were found against with the miners meeting jedi who while understanding and not wanting to offend the locals of the system saw to it that structure were built to code as it were and able to really protect them from the elements. The defense screen was disabled with new codes programmed into it that allowed Silver jedi ships to pass through.

Only two things I'd like to see clarified then we're good to go.

Birchwood: The small prison deep in the heart of the planet. Made to house two hundred people but with breeding and the taung sisterhood slowly declining in power the prison burst open taking sections of the planet.
Do you mean the Sisterhood is declining and thus cannot control the prison? Also, "taking sections of the planet" do you mean the prisoners have taken over certain areas, like mini-warlords? If this is the case, could you clarify it up just a bit.

Culture: The culture on the prison planet has evolved slightly. From the survival and rule of the fittest to its own monarchy created by the prisoners who being imprisoned for life created their own city
Could you expand on this just a little. Prisoners normally have a complex culture that is wildly different from normal culture. Here is a link that you might find useful to get some ideas.

I’m looking over this and I think I’d like you to explain how prisoners are something imported… is this a prison planet? Are they literally paying money to other worlds to import prisoners?

Reading through the submission I just can’t discern what you mean, and feel this is more something to do with the planet’s history than the economy.
