SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Skyhornets are outfitted with the precise sensors and long-range communication capabilities required of an aerial scout; they are able to carry out extended operations across large geographical areas without refuelling or landing. They have enough power reserves for several hours of intensive combat or several days of passive observation. If necessary, they can be refuelled or recharged in the air by other drones.
  • Skyhornets utilise reliable stabilisation technologies to maintain accurate firing vectors even during complex manoeuvres.
STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES
  • Hornet's Nest: Skyhornets are small (compared to gunships), lightweight, cheap-ish, and agile - ideal for providing air support to infantry.
  • Hornet Down: While decently armoured, Skyhornets cannot withstand missile launchers, laser cannons, and other heavy weapons.
DESCRIPTION
Smaller and far lighter than a gunship, yet larger than infantry or the droid equivalent, Skyhornets are generally utilised as light air support with an emphasis on supporting advancing infantry. Skyhornets are generally not capable of confronting heavier vehicles with anti-air capabilities.

In addition to battlefield support, they are often utilised for territorial defence on planetary surfaces and as patrols around high-security facilities. It is not uncommon for Skyhornets to be called in to support law enforcement, should they find themselves under fire by criminal elements - such droids are hardly as potent as gunships, but to your average poorly-equipped gangbanger they are an all but insurmountable challenge.
