Scars of Time (FWC Dominion of Dorsis - Hex U-27)

Mercutio was half way through rummaging silently through a crate, the lid lifted up so it appeared to the others he was merely checking the contents..
As the Terentatek stepped towards the group he let the lid fall shut with a loud, and rather obnoxious, snap.
Mercutios blazing emeralds looked over the large beast.

"Well, someone ate all their wheaties this morning!"

He hollered, before quickly igniting his golden shoto
He then looked to those reading this story and held a finger to his lips while his other hand pocketed some small valuables hed snaked from the crate.
With a crack of his neck and a slow roll of his shoulders he stepped closer to the beast.

"Time to go to work."

Before anyone could blink Mercutio used the force to sling himself high against the wall, using the momentum to launch himself even higher as soon as his feet braced the wall.
He darted around erratically, a move to confuse the huge beast that worked perfectly, as it lost sight of Mercutio after attempting to swat him out of air.
He clung to beasts back, his saber stabbing rapidly into the muscles and tendons between it's head and shoulder like a prison based assassin.
Mercutios blade landed at least two dozen deep thrusts before the Terentatek quickly and swiftly grabbed him up in a single massive palm.
Then it squeezed and the sickening sound of a meaty snap drowned the rooms other noises. Sharply followed by a genuine cry of pain, and then before the beast launched Mercutio's broken form at the Sister Assassins Ra and [member="Stardust Bloodstone"]

In the moments of powerful silence, they observed another piece of Nexus find its way home. His armor now covered him and his power grew. It more than a simple charm that her friend had when they met and Ra appreciated the difference. In a subtle nod, she acknowledged this and turned her attention back to the gathering up of the other items they had come for.

When he stood up, he said they weren't done yet and a thunking noise filled the void of silence that had just been there. Her companions too the words out of her mouth and instead of speaking in her own turn, Ra simply took her two sabers out from her sleeves and ignited them. The short purple blades blended in with the crimson of Nexus' along with the black and white of her sister. When her apprentice moved first, he attempted to confuse the beast by moving quickly, but it wasn't fast enough.

His hit connected, but he didn't pull away quickly enough and the terentatek took a strong grip. With a crushing sound and cry of pain, it flung Merc back at them. Ra was not the healing type, but attempted to catch Merc with the Force and prevent any further injury from happening. It sounded like he would be spending a few days in bed after this. Setting him on the ground, she put one of sabers away and pulled out a knife from her boot instead.

Throwing it at the beast with the intention to connect the blade between its eyes, she didn't wait to see if it worked before taking a place to face it with Nexus and Star. The fate of Merc would be discovered after this creature was dead.

It was then after working his way meticulously down the seem to darken ancient path carved within the interior of the ancient ruin. Knowing all too well this was on all account not gonna be quite a walk in the park as it may seem to be innocently on the surface. For as much he'd know privately and personally the company he kept back then weren't really know for their fairness nor their civility in keeping with the rule of law. Adopting a sort of secretive and ruthlessness about them that was at best he fathoms attuned to the idea of the once controversial leaders of distant past. Who cared nothing for the rule of law nor for doing what was right but instead adopted a more hardcore guerrilla tactic. Which employed more emphasis on getting things done and care little about the cost it entails. Something which he only came realize too late it seems once he'd become too deeply entrenched within their ranks. Driven by youthful bravado and unwillingness to see the truth as it were despite what other tried make him realize. He stays with the group and keeping it all a secret to even those in his family. Who for all account were lead to believe the lie he had perpetrated with the help of his now departed comrade and friend. In order to cover up his whereabouts during those periods....

For whom with his help was able to make a break for it and escape before he got himself anymore deeply engaged with "Their" ranks. For which he was all too thankful and in gratitude extended the life debt to him which compelled Andulf. To faithfully try to execute his dying wish which leads him here searching out the last known location of the other weapon cache. Finish up the task they both initially started back then and he believes is the cause of his passing.

But then as he got deeper into the ancient structure and using the old map he 'd sort decipher using both the old messages the two they had exchange thru the years. Along with the cryptic hidden rune carved into the burria capsule urn of his friend he'd received which on all account was part their secret. Which sort gave him a decent enough cover if ever he is found out or captured wandering in here by anyone, not in the know.

At which time having gone pass to check out a couple of the initial location on his list that he soon come to arrive on the third. Which upon closer inspection seem been broken into....not so much as someone but seem something. For all around the spot, he saw the sign of some sort nesting....broken shell of the sort along with some discarded remains. Of who or what he dare not wish to stay around for too long and instead focused on check out the site make sure he was able to cross it out his list before whatever made this chamber its home and nested here came back.

As the beast loomed forward, Nexus stood his ground. Judging by what he saw in their excursion, he waited for the inevitable, only offering one word of warning to Mercutio before he darted forward.

"Wait."

But it was too late as Ra's apprentice lunged forward to press the attack. Acolytes were one thing, but the Terentatek was something else entirely. Created through the dark arts, these behemoths- often dubbed as jedi killers- were a daunting opponent, as not only were they large beasts, but also highly resistant to the force.

Hubris had claimed the life of countless warriors, and might add the young man to the list. Mercutio learned this the hard way, as he attempted to take down the beast alone. His effort was twarted, however, as Nexus watched the beast crush and throw his body aside. Time seemed to slow, as the emotion flooded his senses. Ra's concern was what came first, followed by shock and then horror.

Then came her rage, as her blade left her hand and clashed into the beast. It let out a gutteral roar of pain, though its hide and skull managed to take the brunt of the blow, causing the beast to survive the strike, though not going unscathed as it had a gash across its face. That made it angry. It set its eyes on Ra now. The Dark Lord tensed, becoming that much more bestial. He spread his legs at shoulders with, and roared out. He would not allow further blood to be shed, especially hers. His voice bellowed out, reverberating off of the walls.

"HEY!"

He threw the gauntlet that he knew the beast would reciprocate to. Standing at full high, with his shoulders drawn back, he offered a challenge that would not be declined. The beast slowly turned its attention to Nexus. As they were drawn to the force, it would find him to be a tasty morsel. He reached up with his free hand, gesturing an invitation. It was received in kind as the beast bolted forward, each step causing the room to shake, as it charged at its prey.

Nexus stood deathly still as the beast closed the gap. As it came within reach, Nexus kicked off of the ground, leaping to the side, dodging the beast; the screech of his metal boots sliding over the stone were not nearly as deafening as the roar of anger that came from the beast. Nexus' lips curled into a smile- he was goading the beast, feeding off of its raw emotion. Nexus turned to face the beast once more.
"AGAIN!"

The Terentatek was happy to oblige, as it bulldozed its' way towards the Dark Lord, who leapt to the side once more. There was another screech of metal against stone, followed by a roar in repugnance induced rage. No words were said now, for he had the beast's undivided attention.

The beast charged a third, faster and more aggressively, seeking to rend Nexus' flesh from bones. It was ironic- the one thing that bonds all living creatures apart from the force was rage, and Nexus was feeding off of the Terentatek's rage.

On the third charge, Nexus did not leap away, but instead used the force to guide him in a speedy side step. Nexus was hit by a wave of musk and a gust of wind, and just as the beast was about to pass where he previously stood, the Dark Lord pivoted on his left leg, turning and slashing at the creatures back. His blade met it's mark, cleaving into the thick hide of the Terentatek, leaving a gash across its lower back. The beast let out a primal roar as it ground to a halt and turned back to Nexus. The Dark Lord didn't need the force to sense that the animal became that much angrier.
