Designed on the flame unit produced by a business partner, Matsu worked with her researchers to incorporate a wrist mounted flame projector with a handgun. The fuel cell isn't as large but it is easier to change out and lighter materials to aim. The ranger's standard equipment of a biometric handgrip to ensure only the one who owns it can use it. The modular under barrel made to hold and use some of the attachments the ranger's and sasori had crafted to work with it or the twenty attachments designed to work with the toolkit.
The years have improved upon the design and as they buiult larger units the engineers worked on applying the upgrades to handheld flamer units. It is heavier for a pistol but it can also be used to reduce space taken up. The handheld flamer units are large like a heavy pistol but still a portion of the size of the rifle. The capabilities using molecular disruption to compress the internal working and over engineer it.

- PLasma Railgun: Designed as a scaled down version of the starfighter weapons. The railgun wraps Depleted Baradium quarrel with Illerium/Sleg heads in super heated plasma which when fired splash and melt through a large number of materials.

In the case of personnel targets, it simultaneously rips apart and pulverizes the body around the impact area.

- Self Repairing: The self repair function depends on the level of damage done with small stresses and damage easily repaired but warping and heat damage can take hours or days.
- Warping: The heat and power generated by the shots can cause excessive heat that when cooled quickly causes warps and bends. Dangerous as the damage over time to the barrels require care and replacement parts usually after every other engagement.
- Sleg: A powerful energy enhancer, the sleg absorbs and channels the excessive heat generated by the weapons to cool and power the shots. Making them maintain a stronger level of power but also increases the chances that they could explode exponentially turning each gun into a heavy warhead that is carried by Atrisian soldiers
- Splash Damage: While designed to handle targets with deadly accuracy the shots are dangerous and highly explosive. Splash damage against allies and enemies doesn't discriminate.
- Oxygen Requirement: To take the full effects of the illerium the weapon requires oxygen to react with the chemical and have the full effect of the weapon. Without it the power is reduced by two thirds.
- Charge Up: the electromagnetic coils require a charge time to get warmed up and ready between shots. Making the rate of fire slower then a standard pistol.
- Underbarrel: While more a small problem the rail system for other rifles above and below the main barrel has been removed to engineer it more towards high functionality.
