Public Rise of the Hutt Space Consortium (Open to All)

Orotta the Hutt Gorba the Hutt Gorba the Hutt Vienna Hourne Vienna Hourne Ghorua the Shark Ghorua the Shark

As crowded as the station was, most of the sentients around seemed amazingly polite to Domino. They were quick to exit her path and made sure to give her plenty of room for which she was thankful. Not that she would ever show such a thing in a place where Face meant all. Still, she was making good time on the way to the cousin's box when something caught her attention. She paused mid-stride and sniffed a the air, turning slightly. It was bothering her, just under the ripe odors of too many people and cheap food and all the stims and inhalants clogging the air filters. There. It was a Falleen woman wearing a slim purple dress. Domino knew about their pheromones, just as she knew they weren't the reason this woman suddenly had her attention. Kincaid Turned to see what Domino had stopped for and followed her gaze to the woman. Domino saw the Mandalorian toggle something on her wrist control below the press of bodies and she knew a holo of the stranger had been sent off. Satisfied that it was being worked on, Domino continued down the concourse.

The Hutts has guards of course, both outside their box and the ones inside she'd seen from the bar. Only now they'd been joined by some giant aquatic of a species she didn't recognize. She couldn't recognize everything of course but, "Herglic, sharp teeth, strong as it looks." Kincaid came through for her again, though the last two were fairly self apparent to Domino. Her escort stopped just short of the guards and while they were busy eying her people up, figuring how they wanted to handle the situation, Domino continued on into the private box. She wove through the retainers and around the Herglic to come up between the two Hutts, dividing them through movement. Some of the people noticed her, others didn't or dismissed her as a particularly well dressed Twi'lek sent on some errand or other. There was also the human here, the one she'd seen breathing out the pink smoke, though now that she was this close Domino could see her eyes were a striking violet that almost seemed to glow. "Mmmm, tingly." She grinned after breathing some of the smoke in.

"But aren't you just a treat though?" Domino spun towards Orotta's throne, practically sashaying towards it before abruptly squatting down in front of the slave chained there. Cupping the girl's cheek in her hand, she gently tilted the slave's head this way and that. "Still some fight in you, huh? Buried under all that fear, didn't like what they did to.... ahh, no." Standing again, Domino lowered the hood of her shawl to her shoulders as she looked towards the Hutts. "I'll be taking her after we've reached our understanding."

He huffed in amusement at Daesha's remark.

Fett sat as still as stone itself, a statue carved from the most indestructible of metals, even if his had seen a considerable amount of wear and tear. His sole movements had come in the form of a subtle nod on occasion, as if to mark the fact that he had indeed listened to all that the Klatoonian had said. It was a different manner of crime, he surmised, but crime all the same and that alone earned them a seat at the table. He remembered the Kraken Coalition from their introduction at the meet, their 'ruler' as it were was... Memorable, he considered was his answer to that internal remark.

"If I need such services," a slow nod followed, "I know to call on this crew."

He turned his visor across to the others in the area, as if to make a note of them all. Senators had been his chosen few as of late, the Chancellor himself the client that demanded their demise or removal from the board, the credits had been worth all the effort. But his new contracts for the Imperial Order had created interferance from rebel cells;

"Do rebels visit these so-called lawless havens that the Kraken Coalition and such return to?" The Mandalorian tilted his head to the left, interested.

Credits ran the Galaxy, the more one had the better.

Causmyq followed her employer into the massive arena. It was a bit of an assault on the senses, but thankfully the young Cathar was used to crowds. When Lady X went to the right Causmyq darted left. ‘You don’t want to see me’ she repeated to herself as if the thoughts helped her ability to use the Force to blend in. Causmyq was small and skinny and not likely to be noticed in such a crowd, but now she was little more than a wisp of yellow with black dots. Of course anyone talented and actively searching out use of the Force would hone in on Causmyq like a beacon.

‘Information only. No credits. No shinies,’ the Cathar’s mind shifted from her Force mantra to her directives from her boss. Normally anything that could fit in the girl’s palm that held any value found its way into a pouch on her hip, but Lady X said that Causmyq really didn’t want to be caught with any of these heavy hitters’ belongings in her pouch. ‘The Lady needs a name. Someone who has clout here. She’s networking whatever that means.’

Causmyq easily shuffled through the crowd shifting sideways when there was less than enough room to comfortably pass through a group. She moved slowly hoping to pick up names, but without much experience of what to listen for it was mostly just murmuring. She noticed that one of the private boxes was getting pretty full. She would report that to her boss, but didn’t think it would be much help. Barging on an ongoing party wasn’t the smartest way to make friends. Although if Lady X had any of that new spice a party wouldn’t be a bad place to start. She’d just have to hope her new friends remembered her in the morning.

Just as she thought everything was going smoothly something happened in the arena to get a gasp from the audience. Causmyq’s attention shifted to see what was so exciting when she bumped into something. More accurately someone. He was a young man just settling into a vacant seat. There was a hood over his head, but Causmyq took a guess that he was pretty young. Now seated she couldn’t tell just how tall he was, but he looked lean like herself. And he certainly didn’t look like a big time crime boss.

“Sorry,” Causmyq wanted to whisper, but chose a normal voice instead to make sure she was heard. “You look like you fit in here about as well as I do. Are you doing some recon for your boss too?”

"Sorry," Causmyq wanted to whisper, but chose a normal voice instead to make sure she was heard. "You look like you fit in here about as well as I do. Are you doing some recon for your boss too?"

Jasper nearly fell out of his seat. He was so sure that he had been completely aware of his surroundings, yet somehow he failed to notice this Cathar girl, who had just run into him out of seemingly nowhere. She appeared young, maybe even younger than him, if only by a little. Worst of all, she could be on to him. Jasper had to think, and fast.

"Oh. Er, well, I wouldn't exactly call it recon," Jasper replied, attempting to come off as collected as he possibly could. "I'm... on the look out for toxins. Yes. With so many crime families in one spot, my employer wanted me to make sure they weren't killing each other. It would only take a little bit of chall granules to ruin business for everyone."

Did she have an angle, Jasper wondered to himself. It didn't much matter, really. If Jasper wanted to make it off this station alive and with as much info as possible, he was going to have to play along with... whatever was going on here. He could be friendly for a bit.

"The name's Dex, by the way," Jasper made up. "Dex Fin-Lo. I'd give you my business card, but frankly I don't have one. What brings you out here, stranger?"

This is fine, the exile thought to himself.
There's no way any of this can go wrong.

Causmyq was not used to socializing. She could tell the young man she sat next to was concentrating on something, but she wasn’t sure what. Her thought was that he was studying her. As an untrained spy she was trying her best just to act normal. She listened intently as he stated he was on the lookout for toxins. It seemed a bit far-fetched, but why not completely plausible that these people would try to poison each other.

"The name's Dex, by the way," Jasper made up. "Dex Fin-Lo. I'd give you my business card, but frankly I don't have one. What brings you out here, stranger?"

“Hiya Dex. I’m Causmyq,” she gave her true name because, well why not, no one knew who Causmyq Khimon was. “I would guess that any business cards exchanged in this place are full of lies so I hope you don’t find it too rude for me to say I wouldn’t put much stock in whatever flimsi you handed me.” She gave a meek little giggle hoping that Dex would take her joke in good humor.

“What am I doing here?” Causmyq asked, a bit of a squeak in her voice as nerves took her. Lady X didn’t tell her to lie. Everyone was here to network so sending a gopher to procure a few names probably wasn’t something worth lying about. “I just told you. Ears to the ground for my boss. She wants any names I can figure to be important.

“Why would your boss care about other organizations killing each other?”
Causmyq asked as it seemed to make less and less sense as she continued to think about it. “Lady X doesn’t share her views on business with me much. But I know she wouldn’t mind if the others here thinned each other out and left a void of power for her to scoop up.”

"Why would your boss care about other organizations killing each other?" Causmyq asked as it seemed to make less and less sense as she continued to think about it. "Lady X doesn't share her views on business with me much. But I know she wouldn't mind if the others here thinned each other out and left a void of power for her to scoop up."

Jasper, to his own credit, was very confident in his ability to read others. Every sign he was seeing from Causmyq was a red flag. She was smart, and Jasper reasoned it wouldn't take much for his entire story to fall apart. He needed to clean up his act, and fast.

"Let's just say that my employer needs everyone to play nice for a while," Jasper explained casually, or as casually as he could, at least. "I can't go into much more detail than that, though. I'd rather not end up loosing my job."

Jasper reflected upon the girl's statement as he spoke. Lady X, he thought. She throws around her boss's title so casually. I guess that's to be expected in the underworld's home turf. Before long, Jasper was thinking about what happened if he were to be captured by some shadowy organization. He began to think back to his training as a Jedi youngling...

"...criminals deal in a lot of commodities that you might consider to be taboo," the instructor prattled on to his half asleep class. "Spice, slaves, bacta, organs-"

"Organs, master?" a young Jasper piped up.

"Yes," the older Jedi confirmed. "While cybernetic implants are common, some have a general distaste for them. Organs are commonly harvested to serve as replacements, along with the various species who contain organs believed to have some form of nutritional value. When it comes to the underworld, morality is thrown out the window, you might say."

A chill went down the exile's spine. Damn it, Jasper thought to himself. Not that memory! Apparently, he had some repressed fears that he needed to reflect on. He ignored this memory for the time being, throwing in a tinge of personality to reinforce his character.

"It's quite exhausting," he sighed, resting his hands behind his head. "Imagine being told to keep criminals from killing each other. I think I might go insane before all of this is said and done. What I'd do for some recon work..."

Jasper could feel his curiosity creeping back up his throat. Why would she make such a loose remark about her superior. Before long, his mouth was open again.

"You spoke about your employer so casually," Jasper remarked. "Lady X, was it?"

She pulled the cigarra from her lips and held her breath for a moment longer while she thought of how best to answer Lok Xiangu Lok Xiangu . There was all the signs of dirty money here, something she was only just getting cozied up to now that she'd been dragged from a far more reputable life into .. well, not quite this. "It's different, I'll give you that." Sable said after a slow exhale, the bridge of her nose wrinkling at the thought of having to live in a place like this some day. "Very.. Hutt." She muttered, glancing around.

The hand at her hip was almost entirely unnoticed by now, she was rather used to the way he liked to project himself on her, but every now and again she'd feel it - like that sensation of realizing that clothes actually weighed something. Turning to get a better view of the people who were wandering around, talking and making what she assumed to be powerplays, she in fact noticed his hand at her side and was momentarily confused, perhaps forgetting it was even there, before patting at his wrist with her own hand.

"Insecurity doesn't look good on you." She whispered, leaning into him so she could get closer to his ear. With a grin she brought her cigarra back up to her lips, inhaled, and then blew out a stream of smoke in front of his face. "Know anyone here?" She asked coyly, leaving it open to interpretation on whether she was still referring to his hand on her hip or if she had actually been asking the question in earnest.

Causmyq still wasn’t sure who would want to ensure all these people weren’t out to kill each other, but the insistence to stick to the story made her let it be. Dex brought up Lady X as if she had made a mistake. ‘Uh oh. Did I do something wrong?’ she thought to herself before realizing she was silent for too long.

“This is a gathering of underworld crime bosses,” she answered with a shrug. “Lady X got an invitation, I don’t think her identity is something that should be locked away. Hard way to make new contacts if you are hiding away in the shadows I would say. My job is to be hidden. Hers is to be out in front of everyone.”

The young Cathar gave a deep sigh as she thought over if she was digging a deeper hole for herself. Again she shrugged it off and smiled. “Besides. Lady X isn’t her real name and she knows I have a big mouth. If she wanted to remain secret she wouldn’t have let me out into the crowd. So your boss isn’t a crime boss is he or she?” Curiosity more than tactics had her shift the focus on Dex’s purpose.

The Cathar girl had a moment of hesitation, putting Jasper's anxieties at ease. She was inexperienced and trying to play it off. The exile suddenly found himself with a few more cards in his hand.

"So your boss isn't a crime boss is he or she?"

"No, not quite," Jasper shrugged. "My employer, they're a benefactor more than anything, and they like their anonymity. An alias only goes so far these days..."

A distant glimmer hit the young man's eye, irritating it slightly. His attention shifted forward, where a server stood a few rows down from them, a pale twi'lek man with tattooed lekku. Light had reflected off a small glass vile, which the server had drawn from his pocket whilst the attention of the crowd was taken by a roar in the arena.

An assassination? Jasper thought to himself, holding in a laugh. You're kidding, right? The timing was ironic, but Jasper couldn't be too surprised. Causmyq had pointed out crime lords' desires for power vacuums, after all. Regardless, he had a story to stick to. Jasper would need to step in and solidify his alibi.

"Just a sec," Jasper stopped, lowering his voice. He directed the Cathar's attention to the server. "Dead ahead, seven rows down. Looks like manax root extract, real nasty stuff. It wouldn't take much to send someone to an early grave. Let's see here..."

Jasper knew he had to be quick on his feet. He was a professional, after all, or at least posing as one. He dug around in his pockets, eventually coming across a metal mixing straw he had forgotten to leave behind the counter of his bar. The exile then scanned his surroundings for a projectile, eventually setting his eyes on a tray of koja nuts in the row ahead. He leaned forward, plucking out a nut while nobody was looking. He lubricated the hard shell of the koja nut in his mouth before lodging it in the straw, assuming a firing position.

Well, Jasper though, Here goes everything.

The exile cleared his mind, focusing on the poisoned glass. For a moment, just a moment, time seemed to slow. It was as if the world around him didn't exist. There was only the force. Jasper pressed his lips to the metal straw, launching the koja nut toward the glass with his lungs. It was a direct shot. The glass rattled, tumbling off the server's tray and shattering on the floor, spilling the compromised wine within. Jasper had successfully created a scene. More importantly, however, he had just prevented a random assassination attempt.

"Yes!" the exile exclaimed under his breath, pumping his fist. "Not today, buddy."

Jasper's alibi could fall apart for all he cared. All the exile could think about was how that was the sickest thing he had ever done in his life. He leaned back, letting out a half chuckle before standing up.

"Well," Jasper shrugged. "That's my quota for the hour. I need a drink."

Causmyq focused where Dex told her to. She saw the server he was pointing out, but had no idea what manax root was, or what it did. Since Dex said he was a toxin expert she really had no reason to question the server had a sinister substance. She watched curiously as Dex removed a straw from his pocket and stole a nut from a row up. Her nose scrunched as she tried to figure out what he was going to do.

Causmyq noticed the strength of Dex’ concentration, but she wasn’t practiced enough to tell for sure he was using the Force. When the glass shattered she barely was able to subdue a squealing cheer for Dex’ success. She hugged his arm in congratulations when he vocalized his success.

Dex stood and Causmyq gave a weak sigh. She knew she was supposed to be doing work for Lady X, but she so rarely got to hang around anyone around her own age. There was Luche, but she only ever cared about machines. And the Marauders in general were a strange group to try to socialize with. When Dex suggested he needed a drink Causmyq’s ears perked.

“Lady X says I’m not supposed to drink on a mission,” she lied. She’d never done more than have a quick drink of anything. But she know drinks sometimes made missions fail. And Causmyq could make an excuse that Dex got her attention and she was hoping to find out who he worked for. She couldn’t tell Lady X she was zonked out in a cantina booth because of too many drinks. “But I’d like to keep you company if you’d be ok with that? I mean cantinas are good places to hear names right?”

For a moment, Jasper realized he had accidentally done something ingenious. He could use the excuse to get a drink to slip away and hightail it out of there... at least until...

"But I'd like to keep you company if you'd be ok with that? I mean cantinas are good places to hear names right?"

There goes that plan, he thought to himself. The plan simply needed to alter. For a moment, Jasper considered finding a cantina on the station to lie low at. Then, he remembered a very important detail: He was flat broke. Regardless, his story didn't put him on the station to network, so he didn't feel the need to hide this fact.

"Oh," he frowned at her suggestion. "I... kinda don't have a lot of credits right now. I was just gonna grab a bottle from my ship and call it a life."

Besides, he added in his head, I don't trust any fool on this station to mix my drink. They'd mess it up.

Jasper was beginning to wonder if he even had enough info to leave. He knew that the cartels had gathered for something, and on the chilling presence in the Axis of Champions alone he could assume the Sith were involved. Their proximity to the Silver Jedi Concord also seemed unlikely to be a coincidence. There was enough there to make a logical conclusion to pass off as fact, but he'd need to discuss it with his mentor back on Corellia before he made any moves. For now, he simply needed to find a way to slip off the station unnoticed.

Causmyq tried her best not to look disappointed at Dex’ response, but adolescent girls weren’t always the best at hiding emotions. She hoped she did a good enough job.

“Welp,” she blurted out trying to seem unaffected. “I guess we will have to go our separate ways then. Not gonna learn much in your ship.”

She slyly handed over a piece of flimsi. “I know I said you can’t trust anything on flimsi here. But I promise that’s my relay and comm number. If your in the sector again and need some info ring me up.”

"I guess we will have to go our separate ways then. Not gonna learn much in your ship."

Jasper felt somewhat bad. Causmyq was clearly disappointed by his departure. Perhaps the two could've become friends had the circumstances of their meeting been different. The girl procured her contact information, assuring it was accurate.

"If your in the sector again and need some info ring me up."

Info, huh? The exile thought. Might not be bad to have a contact... He accepted the flimsi, trying to seem as casual as possible.

"Thanks," he replied, tucking the flimsi in his pocket. "I'll be sure to take you up on that offer sometime. It's been a pleasure meeting you."

He gave a half salute, bidding farewell before making his way out of the Axis of Champions. Before long, he was moving against the flow of patron traffic towards the station's the lower landing. Somehow, be it through his quick thinking or dumb luck, he was returning to the Philosopher in tact. What am I gonna do now, he mused to himself, pondering his next step. He knew that regardless, he was gonna need to pay his mentor a visit. If anyone knew what to do next, it would be Dex Fin-Lo. Besides, he sort of had to explain the whole using his name as an alias situation. Jasper was beginning to feel like that might be a decision he would come to regret. The exile didn't have time to worry about this at the moment. He'd deal with the consequences of his actions when the time came. For now, there was work to be done.

The Donna returned the Sith Lord’s focused gaze; meeting her eyes with willful determination. The Assassin was not someone to trifle with, nor show weakness before. The woman did not exude the same characteristic sense of primeval dread most of her ilk infamously projected, and outside of the ashen color of her skin & dark red eyes, there was little to indicate Darth Ophidia Darth Ophidia was anything more than a spry aged woman… but appearances were very deceiving.

The woman's slight bow showed some respect, but the Assassin was an Apex Predator.

"The interests of the Sith reach far and wide."

The Rattataki acknowledged the Emerald Dragon's statement as her form gathered back into the form of an inscrutable pillar of black silk; one hand clasped the other and was concealed within the long sleeves of her robe. Her voice was a dry rasp, cracked by age and old violence. It made her almost seem meek.

"I admit that I have a soft spot for the plight of those caught under the tyranny of the Jedi -and an admiration of those who stand against it." Her eyes finally shifted from the Donna to the pirate, Cass. "And some of us have shared friends."

She opened her hands again, as if offering a gift. Her eyes narrowed slightly as her lips curled into the barest hint of a smile.

"My goal is to lend aid, and we shall all profit."

The Donna offered a similar hint of a smile, bowing in a mirrored fashion - a slight tip of the waist; breaking eye-contact for only a moment, as she was reasonably sure her head wouldn't leave her shoulders. "Our goals are similar, then. The Jedi & their ilk would rather see us all imprisoned or buried - were it not for our combined efforts, the Rule of Law would have overtaken this Galaxy long ago." She returned her gaze to the Sith, deep violet meeting ruby red.

"Any aid you offer is welcome, Darth Ophidia. My Family and I are at your service. I can assure you, the combined efforts of the Consortium are growing hour by hour - what you see before you is only the beginning of the force we'll be able to gather in the near future." The Donna turned her head slightly, looking out amongst the party below.. then returning to look at the black-cloaked figure. "If necessary, I can send my people away - should you wish to discuss business. If you would rather keep your involvement... subdued... I can pass your regards to Lord Gorba, myself."

Below, somewhere in the party, Viz Harridan Viz Harridan and Marcella Fiora Marcella Fiora had made contact. Ivory would be waiting to speak with the tinkerer from Nar Shaddaa when she arrived; but for the moment, her entire attention was focused on the Sith Lord before her. Cass Gemini Cass Gemini was still present, but The Donna was not paying her any attention.

Varl Station, Lower Landing
Epilogue

Once back on his ship, Jasper wasted no time preparing the Philosopher to depart from Varl Station. Before long, he had his ship on route to the Mara Corridor. Soon, he'd be flying the Corellian Run back to Dex's bar. After making the jump to light speed, he nearly collapsed, the stress finally overwhelming the exile. What started off as a simple excursion to promote his business had spiraled into one of the most exhausting experiences of his life. After laying down on the floor of his ship and collecting his breath, Jasper was back to his feet, opening up his holo-communicator and connecting to Dex's personal channel. Before long, the image of the old Nautolan appeared.

"Kid?" Dex mumbled, clearly half asleep. "That you?"

"Yeah," Jasper confirmed.

"Sorry," the Nautolan groaned. "Afraid my near sight is gettin' worse. What's eaten ya?"

"So," Jasper began, taking a deep breath, "I happened to go on a bit of a business venture... and I ended up at Varl."

"Varl?" Dex echoed, noticeably stressed. "Are you out of your damn mind!?"

"Th-the new station had just opened, and I thought it would be good for promo," Jasper sighed, trying to hold his composure. "I may have... accidentally taken a detour and found every criminal syndicate ever hanging out on the station... and the Sith might have been there."

"I'm too damn old for this," Dex reacted, furrowing his brow. "You're gonna give me a stroke, kid."

"I'm sorry," Jasper apologized. "I... also might have used your name as an alias."

"Anything else I should know?" Dex frowned.

"Actually, I'm thinking that whatever this is isn't a coincidence," Jasper stated, regaining his voice. "It's not every day the big bads of the galaxy act get together to chill, especially the Sith. Their proximity to the Silver Jedi Concord can't be an accident. I figured if anyone I knew could make an educated guess, it would be you."

"You might be onto something, kid," Dex admitted. "I wonder... could they be after Hutt Space? Never mind that. We can theorize later. You need to get your ass back here and lie low for a while. The last thing I need is a crisis."

"Dex," Jasper began, his tone growing serious, "I don't like picking sides, but if something serious is brewing here then a lot of people could die. I need to warn someone."

"I know, kid," Dex sighed, cracking a reassuring grin. "Can't stop playin' hero, can ya? We'll figure somethin' out."

Jasper began reflecting on the events that had transpired. This had not been the way he expected things to turn out. Jasper had a bad feeling that he was about to get wrapped up in something far bigger than himself.

"Alright," Jasper nodded. "I'll be there in a few days. Hey, one more question? Is there really a black market for organs?"

Viz caught Marcella eyeing her outfit and could feel a blush encroach upon her neck. She was too pale for it not to be visible. Stilza was attempting to rush forward again, but Viz held her back.

She looked the woman in the eye. She may not be dressed to impress but she knew she had it where it counted. She lifted her wrist and pressed her HUD band, a holo of Ivory Stroud's invitation to sit down appeared. She showed Marcella and let her have a good look at it. "Glad you knew I was coming, and by the look of it, glad to have this. I've done some minor work for The Family out on Nar Shaddaa, The Donna requested an in person sit down."

She glanced up at the dias. It was crowded. "If she's busy I could, you know, come back later... or..?"

It was surprising when she pat away his hand, Sable was accustomed to his behavior and never seemed to mind how handsy he could be. It was rebellious from her which earned her a confused glare, but was eased away with her soft whisper. A small laugh came from the hothead, not annoyed in the slightest by the smoke exhaled at his face from her cigarra; in her defense, she had put up with that from his part. All in fun nature, though she knew not to get too smart.

“Well, maybe it’s cause I like having you close,” deflecting from her statement of his subtle hint of insecurity, while ogling her face, body, then back to her face. Never got old from it.

“Nah, don’t know much of anyone here. Everyone’s really just…a nobody. Well, almost everyone around here.” The only exceptions were the Hutts and other successful crime lords, what few there was of them. He wasn’t wrong, or at least Lok believed so. This new age of organized crime had no brands, no remarkable individuals that commanded respect and power. Everyone had something to prove and make a name for themselves out of this huge of scum and villainy. Sable, being by exotic model she was, had some merit but it wasn’t enough in this illicit industry.

“Hmm, whatcha thinking,” as he took his eyes off of her and observed the patrons within his gaze. “Talk to a Hutt or something? Gotta find something to help us make a footing in the Underworld.”

A small grin washed over Marcella's face, intrigued by Viz's eagerness to meet the Donna. "I see.." she paused, as if to think for a moment, "The Donna is here, I'm unsure whether you've met her before but here's some advice; be confident, keep eye contact and don't disrespect the Donna. Simple." She took another moment before indicating towards the balcony entrance, "Any questions?"

Indeed, the Consortium was growing rapidly.

Their forces made a motley crew, but the potential of their combined power was not something Ophidia could turn a blind eye to. Their power was kept by tenuous alliances, agreements from one head to another. The Hutts had placed themselves on top of the litter, but the other heads were no servants. This made the consortium all the more attracting for a web-weaver like her.

"You are most curteous, honoured Donna."

Not a bow this time, but a sideways incline of her head. Her lips did not move, yet a voice whispered as though just behind Ivory's ear.

"I appreciate your offer, but at this time I desire discuss with you directly, not Lord Gorba." "If only to express my personal admiration for what you have built."

A slight smile on her lips, but her eyes didn't change, not yet.

"If you trust your company, then I do not mind them hearing what I have to offer." An apologetic shrug. "I am too old to play games. So I say it plainly."

Now her eyes warped to accommodate a more genuine smile, albeit one of deep wickedness.

"What I deal in is death."

The shade of her hood seemed to darken further, as if the light shunned her very presence.

"The death of whomever you so choose."
