Return to Familiar Sands

[member="Thraxis"] [member="Candez Stoon"]

Stardust stopped, a ship was firing upon the vamp good that was a lot of chaos

move! We have the advantage!

Her squad took off towards the camp, nearing the walls stardust stopped hearing that all to familiar and crawl voice within her ears. A frown formed as she listened and then a bit of surprise took her before she took a breath and switched to a justice line

first off no, I'm not stupid...but second off where James justice, I know youd know the location of him or anyone one if us

She said as she looked to the wall and got a thermal detonator set up on the wall and had her squad step back and hit it as they started in

Voph broke into a sprint to close the distance between himself and the wall. He pulled his left arm up near his helmet and said, "Team one, Rally around the Aquilla, keep her safe. Team two, send the Archons." With that, a monumental effort was thrown into hefting himself and the weight of his armor up over the wall. As the Force propelled him up and over, he drew the discblade on his back, and ejected the blades, now ready for combat. He landed heavily, sinking down into a three-point stance, right arm splayed out to the side, holding his lightsaber hilt at the ready. Voph felt the all familiar tingle down his spine as his right hand closed tighter around the hilt. He looked up, seeing that the closest guards had realized he was there. A rifle was pulled up to point in his direction, and Voph hurled the DiscBlade forward. Another rifle came up, and Voph turned to see a group of rifles. His now-empty left hand came up, and arcs of blue lightning flew from his fingertips, engulfing the squad of slavers.

Voph felt the Force forming around his arm, traveling down as the hairs on his neck began to rise. It gathered around his hand, before exploding forward in a brilliant purple beam, the snap-hiss of a lightsaber activation heralding its arrival. Voph heard the rumble of his five Archon vessels descending upon the camp, their lower turrets picking targets carefully, and blasting them away. Voph smiled. It was good to be in a battle such as this. His left hand outstretched, and the Discblade was recalled to him, as he dropped down into the camp, fighting his way towards the slave cages...

The shooting and explosions made the High Ordinal bow his chest in a crouching position, it was not very useful as his chassis held him high and he was still a huge, fat target. But the Band warriors had their guns ready and searching for targets with their optics. The group was just outside the auction building and could look at the wall as well as at the slave pens.

The Vice-Sirdar and his men were not nervous, nor did they feel fear. They were actually busting with the desire to spill blood and kill. Doesn´t matter who or what, but they had their desires as well. But the fat Ordinal was their leader and they had to obey, waiting for him to allow them to fire or a threat appearing which was worthy to be called a threat. Their autoguns were fairly useless against the ship, but the Sirdar already informed the Enveloper of opposition in the skies. Twenty more minutes before it arrives though. Damn.

The High Ordinal had different thoughts. This attack was the perfect disguise to capture that damn cat-person. But he needed more backup. This small one was commanding others and had much of the local wealth, so it was important or at least powerful. Ressak couldn´t beleive that, it was just some tiny little beast. They would find out. If the situation required it, they would do it without the squad.

Suddenly fire of handweapons was opened as someone appeared behind the wall. Roughly two-hundred meters from the location a figure in armour was being shot at. Both the Vice-Sirdar and the High Ordinal grew impatient, both because of their individual interests.

Anger.

It was a potent ally. A pathway to the Dark Side of the Force. A gateway drug that liberated one from the shackles of their own inhibitions and opened the mind's eye to the many passioned possibilities made clear through a clarity of purpose that only unbridled rage and ambition could deliver.

The young Cathar could sense much anger in this one.

"Your anger," the kitten remarked, speaking quietly as he regarded the man with his amber eyes. "Why do you stifle the rage inside you?"

With his free hand, the boy folded his hand on top of the man's. As he did, a power flowed between them, revitalizing the man through the power of the Force. "You should use your aggressive feelings," the child noted simply. "They can make you... powerful."

Outside, the boy could tell that the local trouble was starting to intensify. Taking a step back from Kos, the boy's ears perked up for a moment as he turned his head to consider the deteriorating situation outside.

Perhaps the Sith would take their leave. There were slave markets elsewhere that he could peruse.

Turning back toward Kos, the boy offered this advice. "Only you can free yourself."

Such was the way of the Code of the Sith. Passion. Strength. Victory. And, through victory, the severing of the chains that bind them. "The Sith can show you how to break your chains," the kitten offered. "There is room on my transport to Bastion if you would seek to learn more."

Bill walked briskly back to his ship, ignoring the slow rise in commotion around the camp. The attackers were here, and Bill didn't want to be anywhere away from his precious baby, the Akira's Star. It was much to his surprise when he ended up face first into a mouthful of sand. His emotions fought to the surface in an impressive mix of anger, surprise, and excitement. All bubbling up at once, made him a tad more deadly and a tad more reckless than the usual.

Immediately, he flipped on his side, unholstered his blaster, and fired four shorts in a sweeping arc to try and tag his unknown attacker. His eyes widened and his face whitened to see no person or even droid there. "What in the five hells have I been drinking!?" He exclaimed.

Nothing had been targeting the Mandalorian to Domino's knowledge so when the man leapt from his perch she danced back, her legs automatically falling into the footwork of a duelist. As his carbine drew up on her she palmed her saber, igniting it while he aimed and fired. It was obvious enough that nobody would need the Force to see it coming and she did, batting the blaster shots away harmlessly. "Not a fan of negotiations then?" Her empty hand came around and thrust forward as she sent out a force push to send him backwards into the rock he'd placed his back to.

Far above the desert below, the Sangromancer continued its deadly strafing run still unopposed as it dismantled the camp's defenses.

He gave a grand sigh over the vox box, tongue snapping in a discorded manner as he took a few steps along the rampart. It had become time, he had to choose his target, and choose them well. So far Koda had engaged Domino. Good investment. But two more approached from different sides. Bill Kerkov was off Comms and hadn't given an update, Candez no doubt was sky high. It was times like this when he realized how useful Tiali was. "Stardust. You imply I had a trap setup. All I wanted was a spar. Tsk, tsk." He started his shuffle away from Stardust. He'd have to deal with her in a minute, he knew her skills would prove... Stalling. To say the least. But also knew that any ship could hold her back. She didn't tend to carry much artillery oriented devices. At least to his memory. "As for where Justice is? Sure as hell not on this planet. Only Justice that's been around these parts is you and your crooners." He continued, his voice a booming satire of deities as he watched as lights flared and blasted apart his troops on his wall.

He continued his strut, an unearthly thing as his vox directed at the Kangaroo, ships descending as he looked with a crooked smile. "Well G'day there." The Darkside of the force lapped and folded around him, his bag sinking a great aura of unease as Thraxis made his way to the single man that jumped over the side of a wall. "Normally, I have wit laced remarks but..." He paused, looking at the skies descended with great giants of steel, hampering his mood. "Well. You lot don't seem the sort to appreciate a good back and forth." He continued as he got onto the comms with Candez, his voice a little more than a whisper as he spoke. "Candez, I need those Ships in now."

Thraxis was well armed himself when he approached Voph, a Pistola in each hand and a Cruciatus Blade pointing downwards in a reverse grip all in a strange posture. It was definitely not Ecchani, Abeloth knew that martial art had been studied and used till the death of the Galaxy. He couldn't count how many people knew that damn style. Made his understanding of it useless. Instead, he fell with masterful grace into a Teräs Käsi position, guns squared on Voph. "Now then, tell me. Who are you saving these slaves in the name of?" Thraxis inquired as gunfire siphoned and murdered in scores guardsman. He only sighed. "White Palace. This is Thraxis at the Slave Camp. Get the Hovertrain ready." He kept a steel-like focus on his foe, waiting for the first strike to be made.

If [member="Bill Kerkov"] could have seen the way that Kay had maneuvered her body by arching her back to avoid getting shot at, he might have just laughed. Which in turn would have caused her to lose her balance and fall. Yet he didn't. Instead he seemed confused.

Which was perfect.

As was the fact that his blaster was out.

Kay straightened herself out, and after a second to let her body readjust, she grabbed at his blaster by the barrel in an attempt to rip it out of his unsuspecting hand and turn it on him with her finger on the trigger.

Whether she was successful or not, she would turn off her cloaking device and speak through her helmet. ~Not enough to have you drunk. I'm your new employer. Is this your ship?"

The fact that certain aspects of the camp were under attack wasn't lost on her. She was just running out of time.

Candez Stoon ran through the camp as it was fired upon over and over again. He caught up with Yam at their ship as he ran up the ramp of the Salty Mynock. As he went up the ship began to lift up from the ground. Their Togruta pilot, Bobees Maash engaged the engines and lift off procedures as the vessel headed up towards the sky. Candez moved to the cockpit where all the crew except Yam Yaw were gathered. Their Mon Cal copilot and medic Vel Bruhakk and the ships astromech droid R7-X3. Candez took a seat into the top gunner control seat, preparing to fire as [member="Thraxis"]' voice came in. Candez looked to the comm on the bridge console.

"All right, you heard him! Vel, you coordinate the other ships! Bobees, put those piloting skills to use. R7, keep your ey on the engines! And Yam...well do what you usually do! Just do something!" as he prepared the canyons. The Salty Mynock lifted off to the sky, with a target in mind. The fighters under Thraxis' command followed, moving into a formation around behind it. "Vel, keep them in formation! We are going after that ship bombarding the camp." Candez took aim, and readied to fire. Even with the many rising arguments of the crew.

yeah your spar involves the death of the other not reay a spar is it now?

That would be her target now, maybe this time she could finish the job and be rid of him. But something in the back of her mind told her that she couldnt she was just to clash with him and yield no result besides two people beating the feth out of one another. A man came around charging at her from the corner, she glance dhis way and threw him back as she started forward with purpose

alright you want to spar? Then you better show yourself weve unfinished business

They couldn´t wait any longer. It had to be done now.

High Ordinal Ressak and his group of followers went inside the auction building again after things got much more heated outside. It was not like they would withdraw from a fight and it was a difficult task to the Vice-Sirdar and his men obeying, no - they had a different goal now. With a short message towards his life ward who was still observing the beast, the Band warriors moved to the help of him as well.

They ran towards the entrance [member="Micah"] had taken, with their arms ready. The official following slowly on his metal chassis. The life ward was outside already and unsheathed both his bronze daggers and sprinted in front of the direction of the cat-person. The warriors pushed the door open and readied their weapons, aiming at the unknown species, while swiftly approaching it, some running ahead as well to approach it from different directions. Their autoguns were primitive, but effective slug-throwers with a good fire rate and scythe-formed magazines to hold a good amount of bullets.

They were grunting at the Sith to hold and lay down any weapons. Of course in the Sanguine tongue, so except for a painful feeling, ordinary people from the galaxy wouldn´t understand a single word, but the aiming guns and bare blades spoke a well known and well spread language.

Still fifteen more minutes till the Enveloper would arrive.

sriluur... A planet of Rock and sand similar to that of a desert. Darth Harbinger was not looking forward to arriving at this planet due to the heat that would surely be accompanying the blazing sun that was high in the sky. His mining vessel soon landed in the sandy outskirts of a small town and the cloaking device on it soon activated, hiding the ship from view of any possible passers by as he didn't know quite know what other life forms lived on this planet, He soon stood up and began to walk down his ships hallway and to the exit. The door opened and as he walked down the ramp into the sand. as his feet touched the ground he quit masking his aura as the thick and heavy aura of the dark side permeated the world around him. A womprat rushed by him but as the aura of permiating fear that radiated from Darth Harbinger made the womprat begin to freak out and it rushed away as quick as it could in horror. Taking a deep breath Darth harbinger began to walk down the sandy and rocky landscape wail his cloaking device soon activated and coupled with his own abilities at illusions he made it appear that he vanished into a thin black mist in case somebody was watching him out of site and managing to hide their own aura. He continued to slowly walk down the rocky and sandy landscape until the camp came into sight, He had been sensing and following the misery and darkness of the slaves and wail he was far from what one might call good...he didn't have a taste for slavery and as he stopped and watched the camp, hidden from view, he grabbed what would appear to be a staff and readied himself..

Bill was in a precarious situation. It wasn't tactically sound to be on your back with your own gun pointed at you by a Mandalorian you didn't previously know was there. However, Bill didn't let things like this keep him down, he'd been in worse situations. This was nothing like that time he was cheating in a game of Sabaac with a rather emotionally unstable Trandoshan drunkard, now that was a precarious situation.

Bill smiled, "Firstly,"

The Twi'lek-Human hybrid would make a sideways flutter kick and roll to the side at the same time. This was done to hopefully kick the gun out of his attacker's hands and into the sand beside them, while moving out of the way of any blaster fire they might make should Bill fail. Regardless of his success, he would then say,

"I don't make deals at gun point. Especially not with, young, hormonal, adolescent, Mandalorian boys holding the gun." He made this assumption due to the higher toned but still monotone helmet-filtered voice, and his attacker's slender figure. "Secondly," He said, "This is my ship, and what kind of employment would you be in the business of? Mister?" He added at the end, fishing for a name.

Well of course Kay wasn't planning on shooting [member="Bill Kerkov"] . She needed his piloting skills. The sudden kick at her hand, caught her off guard and the blaster flew out of it, spinning end over end before it landed in the sand with a thud.

She followed him though as he rolled and lept onto him digging her knees into his arms as she straddled his toreso. Her left forearm was then pressed into his neck, but not too hard that he couldn't breathe or speak. It was just meant to be a warning. It was hard to tell how strong he was, but at least she was close enough to cause damage to hus face if she needed to.

Being called a hormonal boy was a first. No one had ever called her that before. It was laughable, yet shocking all at the same time. Kay unclipped her helmet with one hand and then removed it so that Bill could see for himself of how wrong he was. "Those slaves are my business. I need them transported and I'll pay you far more than you're already getting....And it's Kay.
Lady Kay Arenais."
She left her Queen title out of it.

"Do we have a deal?
Or should I have to pilot it myself? And I promise you...I can't guarantee that I won't put some dents into her hull."

Darth harbinger masked his aura and began to walk around the south side of the encampment. He soon came upon two guards standing guard with blaster rifles and with a swift slash the scythe blade ignited and severed the head of one of the guards. The other turned around just in time to see the hilt of the blade collide with his skull and as he knocked him over with it harbinger slashed his head off as well. as the heads rolled away in the sand Darth harbinger smiled a little under his mask as the voice grew quiet for just a moment. It really was these moments of silence he lived for after all. He soon turned and he entered through the door, slashing the lock with the saber scythe. As he entered the camp the permeation of the dark side filled the air around him as it seeped into the encampment as he soon activated his illusions and stealth field to vanish from sight as well as allowing his full darkness to permeate the camp. as the feelings of dread, depression, fear and dispair began to flood through the hallways along with a slight aura of darkness Generated by his Snow Feathers, Darth harbinger put his blade away and began to walk through the hallway. He had something of a distaste for slavery though he also was looking to test his abilities...so why not kill two birds with one stone...

After [member="Lady Kay"] had thoroughly toppled him to the ground, Bill opened his hands, since he couldn't very well hold them in the air, and said, "Alright, alright, I get it. No more tricks or kicks."

Bill thought over Kay's proposition for a second, after getting over the fact he had called a woman, probably in her thirties, a pubescent boy. More money did not sound bad, and although he doubted she could fly his ship, he was completely certain that his one-hundred or so crew on the Akira's Star would most certainly turn coat for any large sum of cash. Although it would mean cutting off relations with this slaver ring, this whole operation was going down in tatters, not too much money to be made in the remnants of the once great Hutt Cartel. Now whoever this was, could be more of a long-term customer. Bill wasn't much of a businessman, but that certainly sounded better than being an errand boy for some two-bit Zeltrosian pirate.

"Alright, if you pay double what these sleemos are paying, I'll take your slaves anywhere you want." Bill said, "Also, let me up, its really hot out here and your metal armor being pressed against me doesn't make it any better." Bill didn't care what this person wanted with the slaves, thinking she was just another Mando coming to take what wasn't hers, he just really wanted off this stinking planet.

Kay-Larr

Kay studied [member="Bill Kerkov"] for a moment, listening to his proposal. After a few seconds she nodded and got to her feet, stepping back to allow him room to get up too.

"Deal. You'll be paid double. Now how many slaves can we get on board? Or are you already full up with them?" She had no idea just how long he had been here for already.

The battle was still raging on overhead and at the front gates. But if she was lucky, then she'd be able to rescue a whole lot of slaves. The others on her team had their own ships, so it wasn't as though she was abandoning them.

She needed to stick with her objective.

Bill brushed off the sand, but could feel the grains creep into his clothing. He shivered, knowing the only way to get them out would be a sonic shower he would not be able to take for a while. Slowly, Bill went over the last five minutes in his head. He had gone from a pirate just minding his business as he worked for that [member="Thraxis"] character, now to a abolitionist of sorts, doing so all on the promise of a Mandalorion pointing a weapon in his face. The only thing he could say was that he was glad he wasn't dead.

"Since the arrival of you crazies? Whatever slaves we were chartered to hire that weren't already aboard, are without a doubt packed into the cargo hold by now."

Bill walked over to where his gun had been kicked, and asked carefully, "I have two questions. First, may I pick up my gun? Second, what the four hells is a Mando doing freeing slaves? Last I checked, all you folk cared about was armor, honor, and good times."

[member="Lady Kay"]

That still didn't answer her question as to how many slaves were on board. But given that the camp wasn't full by any means, she had to assume that there was a bunch. Some were probably hiding anyways, as the battle took place around them.

Kay nodded as [member="Bill Kerkov"] asked to pick up his weapon. He seemed to be on her side now, even though it was solely for credits. "You may get your gun.
But holster it."
She still didn't trust the guy and kept careful watch over him. She then gestured for him to lead the way into his ship with an intention to follow him.

Yet how to answer his second question? She was adopted into Clan Raxis ages ago and was the Aunt to the Mandalore, but apart from that Kay wasn't involved with them.
"I borrowed this helmet from my daughter. She's more Mandalorian than I am. I'm just an idealist." She had already given her name earlier. There wasn't anything else that she needed to give away about her identity other than that.

Bill picked up his weapon and holstered it without fanfare. He didn't want to give his new employer reason to end Bill. Bill chuckled and said,

"I should've realized you weren't a Mandalorian when you didn't just kill me, my crew, and then take my ship with your freedom friends."

Bill gestured towards his ship and said,

"Alright [member="Lady Kay"], if you want a ride out of here, with a coincidentally full cargo hold filled with slaves, follow me."

It was a ten minute walk through the hot sands, listening to the sounds of battle as others fought to free the former Hutt Cartel slaves. Bill didn't pay much attention to it, the battle didn't concern him, all he hoped was that the battle concerned his former employer [member="Thraxis"] enough to ignore Bill's course correction in the wrong direction.

Up ahead, he saw three guards flanked by a few members of his own enforcers and crew. It seemed the hundred or so slaves who had been slowly moving into his ship an hour ago had all been packed in. He remembered there being more Cartel guards, but Bill merely accounted it to Thraxis needing men elsewhere.

Bill held his hand up for Kay to wait he dealt with the guards. They would know something was up if he had come back with a Mandalorian. Bill waved to the guards, "Hey, Hutt boys," he said, "Over here! I found one of them." The cartel gunslingers walked toward Bill and readied their blasters, obviously suspicious of Bill's claims.

Suddenly, Bill had unholstered his pistol, and fired three shots, one into each of the gunslingers. Two fell like sacks of rocks to the ground, but he seemed to only wing the third. The remaining gun slinger raised his rifle only to be shot in the back, by one of Bill's men. It seemed they had got with the program fairly quick.

Bill turned to Lady Kay, and said with a smile, "So, where can Bill Spacelines take you this fine morning?"
