Return of the Heritage Council | Kur's Dozen Rebellion of Free World's Coalition Held Hapes Hex

LvlAJs5l.jpg

Hapes
Insular. Xenophobic. Even war-torn.

Despite the ever-changing state of the galaxy, Hapes had managed to stay relatively the same. Ruled by a monarch and a matriarchal government, the planet had a long history of over-protection of its borders, due to the general distrust of outsiders. Yet since the murder of the Queen Mother some time ago, and the throne now occupied by a niece named [member="Allana Badeaux"], that periphery had been diplomatically breached by the Free World Coalition. The nobility that had been in attendance to welcome the Organa family remained suspect of the outsiders though peace did flourish. Pirates however continued to be a problem for Hapes.

Yet now that the House of Organa had been charged with corruption, negligence, dereliction of duty and possible war crimes the atmosphere was ripe for change. The Hapes Consortium had trusted the Free Worlds Coalition. Was this how they were repaid for their loyalty?

On her luxury yacht, Miss X pondered just how fortuitous this recent claim was. In fact, her mind currently whirled with thoughts of how to exploit this new development, but right now her focus was on establishing the Heritage Council as it was little more than a shell organization until she could further fill it out with eager and ambitious Hapans willing to join her cause and usher in a new age for her homeworld.

“Tha’ga, where are you now? I’m nearly twenty minutes away from landing. And has Armand said anything about the flimsiplasts that likely arrived at his clinic for the Heritage Council?”

“I’m nearly there. I’ve missed you, Sis. Gotta go though. Getting another call-”

Time would tell if Tha’ga had matured enough to undertake this endeavor, or if she was still as material and flighty as she’d always been throughout their childhood. And Mother of Kwath, she had not answered the question about their brother.

****

Rebellion Objectives

1. To help or hinder Miss X establish the Hapan Heritage Council. Right now the Council is a cover for Miss X to stir up trouble in the Palace, and is a nod to the old Heritage Council, an infamous Hapan coup that attempted to oust Queen Mother Tenel Ka during the Second Galactic Civil War. The new Council will ultimately form the leadership of the rebellion efforts, and if successful, this group would take over the government of Hapes itself. Public record meeting notes have indicated that the staunchest Hapan conservatives had not been happy about the move by the FWC and the SJO to consolidate the matriarchal society into their fold. Will some form of diplomacy prevail, will her efforts be thwarted, or can Miss X rally up enough Hapan Hardliners to establish the council she’s always dreamed of and replace the current monarchy structure with a shiny new one?

2. The backbone of the rebellion will be carried out by mercenaries, Kur’s Dozen, the Golden Company and any individuals who want to be on Miss X’s payroll. The goal of the violence and terrorism launched across Hapes is to show the public that under the current leadership of the FWC, the military is weak, and the pirates which have plagued the Transitory Mists for so many eras are now taking root on the planet itself. The mercs have been instructed to keep their identities secret and not reference the Heritage Council, however if they are captured, they may claim they were hired by the Council on an important espionage assignment. Any criminals can join for personal gain to smash and grab from the wealthy and elite of Hapes. Locations that are open to target of theft and terrorism are the City of Ta'a Chume'Dan, The Fountain Palace, high-tech laboratories and rainbow gem vaults on the nearby planet of Gallinore and basically anywhere else in the Hapes Cluster that peaks your interest. Opposition is both welcome and desired!

3. Sneaking around space will be challenging. The Transitory Mists are not easy to traverse. Through stealth air support to deliver personnel and eventually extract them, corvettes and small ships will be maneuvering in and out of space around the cluster. Please note this is not a fleeting objective, but is better suited for pirates who want to capture fleeing nobility or a Captain of a Hapan Naval vessel on patrol.

4. Uncover the identity of Miss X, expose her plot to sabotage the current government and oust the current monarchs, replacing them with nobility of her or the Council’s choosing.

6. There are plenty of bounties to hunt as the Free World Coalition is in turmoil. Feel free to hunt anyone who has a bounty posted.

OOC notes: Miss X is part of a major faction, but her major faction is not involved in the orchestration of this rebellion, nor are aware that she is undertaking the act of treason against potential allies.

Location: Hapes Prime Orbit, Aboard the Dammerung

Time: 1745 Hours

Objective: Loyalty to the Hapan Throne. Defend the Queen Mother and act according to her will.

Days - (Hitoshi Watanabe)

On board the Dammerung, the corporate headquarters of Paragon Enterprises, rumours were spreading of civil unrest on the capital throneworld of the Hapes Consortium below. The executive break room and observation lounge seemed to be hotbeds of the oft-forbidden fruit of political banter. However, it wasn't long before the rumours spread to the ears of Major Relina Zhan, Ducha of Gallinore, whose military unit, the 7th Division, 77th Tactical Fighter Wing, was stationed there temporarily. The "Angel Squadron" and a contingent of Royal Navy warships, with their full compliments of soldiers, commanders, and pilots, were present, largely, to respond to whispers from Naval Intelligence of possible pirate activity; The Ministry of Intelligence, Section 8, known also as M.I. 8, was one of the most ruthless intelligence agencies of the Galaxy, concerning itself primarily with matters of state, although they often enlisted, informed, and even amalgamated themselves with the Royal Office of Naval Intelligence, which together served to make the entire Hapan Ministry of Intelligence the fluger-bed of clandestine intrigue it was long known to be, its activities, varied as they were, the reason why its operatives were often referred to informally as 'spooks' by Navy personnel; it was quite creepy to many how stone-silent and cryptic they could be, how humourless and direct they tended to be, and how much power they often wielded to divert and even commandeer military units for their purposes... all in the name of the security of the Crown and her Realm.

Relina sat in the Observation lounge alone, listening to a group of executives speaking, in Hapan, casually about these insipid rumours. Even she didn't know what was true and what was not for the time being, and while finding the conjectures and even what sounded like full blown conspiracy theories amusing, she took nothing at face value. Her time in the Military taught her well that nothing was as it seemed, most days. The presence of M.I. 8 on board the station alone said enough to her. Something was going on, but whatever it was, no civilian knew even the half of it. Her blue eyes turned to face the image of the Planet Hapes below them, partially obscured by the frame of the station's viewport. Several Type N909 Supernova cruisers and a handful of Type D505 Wyvern destroyers hung in orbit as well, like figures on a child's crib mobile, sans any strings or repulsors. If she didn't know better, she'd think there was a small war about to break out.

Then her commlink rang. "Zhan." She answered.

"Major Zhan, please report to hangar bay Delta 2." Said a female voice, flat and direct with military discipline.

"Affirmative. I'm on my way." she replied and stood from her seat, heading for the first of two turbolifts that would take her to her destination. She sighed, wondering what the spooks wanted with her and her's.

[SIZE=9pt]Yes,[/SIZE][SIZE=9pt] Chekita was a body guard and a personal agent of the Organa family, a Mandalorian warrior who loved to be in the thick of a fight, but most of all used to be a contracting mercenary with strong ties to the underworld. It was quiet giving Melanctha time to think and reflect upon all that had happened in the last couple years. She had seen what outsiders could do to the Consortium the last ones brought destruction and chaos to them. It had taken time to rebuild, time to reform even a government that would work and be half supported by anyone.

The nobles of the Consortium bickered with each other each vying for position with their ruler.

She couldn't help but think of her mother and father. How do you act when someone you love is dying? Each day seems to be a gift and a curse. The halls of her home often were filled with nothing but silence. Deathly silence that unnerved her. What would she do when they were gone? All of their titles had already passed to her not that she had been ready to receive them but that they were ready to give them up. Ready to make sure their house endured.

For a Hapan she looked beaten and tired. She had made deals at the business conference meant to help fill the coffers of the Monarchy, recognition to her house, and a flow of credits to her family that they needed to keep surviving.

She couldn't help but wonder though why had Azrik ([member="Darth Zurvan"]) made the offer he had at the end of their meeting. Did he know something that she didn't?

If she wasn't so tired she might just be intimidated and worried. But why worry over something that you can't do anything about.

Errreembuhr watched as his official escort broke away from his ship, returning to their duties patrolling the paths through the Transitory Mists. His Coalition credentials had gotten him through, and the official reason for his visit was to assist with the unrest that seemed to be growing between the locals and the Coalition. With the recent bounty called on the House of Organa, it came as little surprise that some would seek to break off on their own, but if called upon he would do everything in his power to convince the ruling body that their faith and trust in the Coalition were not misplaced. After all, the Nosaurians were similarly insular and mistrusting of governments other than their own, yet their leadership had put trust in the Coalition, and in one to represent them that was not of their race.

Of course, he also had other reasons. There were sinister rumors afoot, rumors of plots growing against those who would be more agreeable to supporting the Coalition. Rumors of outside interests moving in to sow chaos. The movements of the Golden Company were always being watched by those who opposed the darkness in the galaxy, as where they went so too often came war and chaos. And Hapes, it seemed, was on their list.

While he hoped this was untrue, his ship was prepared in the chance that it was. A full crew had been sacrificed to fit as many WS droids as possible into the ship in preparation to combat any threats on the ground, in addition to providing security for local allies in the Hapan government.

"Where are we on the dropship preparation, Talus?" the Wookiee asked to one of his commanders in his native Shyriiwook as he watched the planet from the bridge. "I want them ready at a moment's notice to be loaded and deployed."

The droid had been at his side, and would be the first to respond should they be called upon. "Squadron One is fully prepared. We have loaded it with its complement of rockets and its weapons have been cleaned and readied. Squadron Two is prepared but for one. It is being loaded as we speak."

"Have our troops hold off on boarding. I am waiting to hear from our allies in the Coalition and on the planet. Prepare my private shuttle as well."

"Of course, Sir."

"And as a warning, Talus, if our forces are needed, you will be leading in the field."

"Is that a warning, Sir, or a promise? Direct combat application is my programming after all."

"Perfect. Have Agil monitor surface transmissions for reports of any violence."

"It will be done, Sir."

Azrik The Condottiero
Through the force, Zurvan could feel the air change around him. A storm was coming, the winds of change was upon them. He could sense it in the people's demeanor, their emotions, their actions. It meant one thing: A power grab for the Hapan throne was underway by some pretender. One had to trend carefully, because when you play the game of thrones, you win or you die.

Azrik's stealth ship the Black Mercury glided down towards the planet Hapes. His ship was flanked by two luxury transports, together they touched down in unison on a landing desingated for official visitors. Azrik, cloaked in black robe emerged from the back of the stealth ship. As soon as he stepped onto the ground, two Hapan officers were waiting to greet him. "I am here under the invitation of the Duch'a [member="Melanctha Dallamoor"], she is expecting me." His tone hinted agitation. He spoke before either two of them could get a word in, there was no time to waste for games or small talk. "I have business arrangements to discuss with her highness, I do not intend to be late." Azrik said producing an identification card.

The Hapan officer looked at his identification card. "Will need to call ahead." One said and gestured to the other two ships. "Whats the situation with the two other ships?"
Azrik shook his head. "My business is confidential, if you have any inquires on my cargo or staff you may ask the Duch'a." He deflected their questions, and awaited quick clearance from lady Dallamoor.

Lady blue was dressed outwardly in an elegant formal royal blue gown, blue veil draping to her lips not hinting at the silver armored weave underneath or the various devices such as a shield generator, and weapons on her person, befitting that of a well-known weapons manufacturer. Contracts were being discussed in the Queen’s gardens that of major deals with the weapons company, and increased security in these perilous times.

Speaking to an aide of the queens, they were sitting together on a stone bench having a private chat, watched over by not only the aide's guard but FFE's own personnel to not be disturbed by anyone inappropriate. “Yes that is correct. Should these rebels cause you undue… trouble, I am most certain we might have the contacts to correct that issue. It can be so very upsetting when people plot from the shadows, can it not?” The queen’s aide nodded his head, not committing either way. “rest assured you will have the technology and indeed specialist teams you require to better prepare against these vile insurgents.” Lady blue smiled below her veil, the only part of her actually visible.

Of course if she couldn’t find them herself, she could always act as the middlewoman, a cut of the proceeds would only enrich her own company, she had done so before and would do again. The various guards with her were smartly dressed in various armored polished blacks or greys, this was Hapes after all, appearance was important. Although an outsider the fact she was a female had made inroads for her here, especially given that rebellion brought opportunities that otherwise might be closed. The Noghri's she had at their disposal were some of Goros's finest selection, having a long history with the company that would take far too long to be explained here!

“Of course if you wish to show solidarity I am more than willing to offer my services to stand beside your queen, to show she has allies far and wide, only wishing the best for Hapes,” and certainly her own bank balance! Tadi'etti being here was intending to show that the Queen had corporate backing, and if she spoke with her publicly, offworld allies to better calm the home front.

HAPES

It was a pain travelling to the Hapes Cluster and it was much greater pain to be among Hapans. Pretty women but dangerously scary. Their whole society seemed karked up to good ol' Zef. He was unsure how them opening up to a foreign power such as the Free Worlds Coalition changed things, nor did he care. The smuggler was here to do his job - smuggle things.

One might argue that Zef's job was merely theft but ask him and he'd tell you he ain't no thief. He would only load some valuable items from the Queen's palace and pilot them away to his employer. That's not stealing, right? It's merely hauling cargo. Now the other person he was supposed to rendzevous here in the middle of nowhere from where the palace was visible - now that person was a thief. Had to be, that person would specialize in breaking in and all that jazz thieves did and if it came to shooting stuff - well, self-defense.

He lit up his cigarette as he leaned on a nearby tree waiting for his accomplice - the thief.

En Route to Planet,
Aboard The Bantha Jumper freighter.
Kur glowered, his yellow eyes glaring daggers at the piece of durasteel jammed against his helmet visor. In order to avoid drawing attention, what with being heavily armed and armored, members of the Dozen had opted for smuggling compartment use. The dense metal containers were large, and despite the size, were still a tight fit for the Gen'Dai who was encased in his armor; the armor itself had been painted, to avoid recognition, and was another suit Kur didn't use often at all. The method for the smuggling compartments was simple, as the container was double layered. The outer layer was standard durasteel, and had a good amount of legal supplies stacked over the false bottom to avoid all but the most unnecessary examinations; whereas the secret compartment layer, sealed beneath the supplies on top, was lined with nightshadow anti-sensor coating, which kept everything inside safe from most every scanner and sensor available. Especially portable boarding party equipment. And just to avoid the false compartment being identified, the smuggling layer was lowered into the ship flooring - so if an eager security tech went through the entire container of supplies, the false bottom would match the flooring...

Chances of being discovered were very, very minimal.

Still, the compartment was a tight fit, and Kur couldn't move much at all - it was a tomb. Even as the hired Captain of the Bantha Jumper spoke about a boarding check over a secure communication frequency to the Dozen members along with Kur, the Gen'Dai almost hoped to be discovered. Then he could burst out of his hiding place, actually move his limbs, and strangle the first Hapan guard he saw... but, despite the need to snap some necks, Kur could control himself, thinking of the mission and the paycheck at the end of it. He'd been in far worse situations, so this would be fine, eventually.

Still... tombs don't suit my kind.

"...sure, I'll show you the cargo," Came the voice of the Captain over the comm.

"We've been asked to scan every ship in the area, so I have a scanning team with me," Said an unknown voice, filled with attempted authority. "We'll scan random containers, please don't interrupt."

"Whatever you say," The Captain replied, as he sighed. "I have Mon Cal clams in some of these containers... and they don't react well to air at all. Please be careful."

"We will scan and perform our security checks as we wish, stand over there."

Several moments passed, banging and clanging heard through the encrypted open comm, the Captain making sure the hidden passengers were kept up-to-date with any developments. The scanning team were talking to themselves, checking several containers, even going so far as to completely empty one and scan the entire interior of the case. The process took a long while, but ultimately the smuggling compartments worked, blocking out the small scanner, which had the Hapan security team withdraw and give permission for the Bantha Jumper to continue on through the mists of the planet, following a specific route for safety, before landing in the city of Ta'a Chume'Dan...

Shuffling above roused Kur from his brief nap, as his yellow eyes blinked open. There was a hiss of air, and the compartment above him lifted, the Captain and several crew hefting the heavy durasteel panel out of the way. With a grunt, the Gen'Dai sat up and stepped out of the compartment. With a rotating of his thick neck, Kur looked to the other smuggling compartments as each one was revealed in turn, the occupants within being freed.

"Good work, Captain," Kur said to the Duros, nodding. "You earned your pay. We'll make sure to hire you again, if we need to sneak through checks."

Reaching into the compartment he had exited, Kur produced a , checking the magazine, before he waited for the other Dozen members to appear.

"Remember, we're Rancor Squad for this mission. Do not reference the Dozen, or use names," The Gen'Dai said, rolling his shoulder, the mass of nerves sorting themselves out quickly. "I'm Rancor One. Zyrias is Rancor Two, Reg is Rancor Three, and Lok is Rancor Four. Don't forget it."

After the business summit had been completed, the almost ever reclusive Hapans had invited Ra to return to their planet. As a merchant, she had the ability to get their goods around the galaxy and go in their stead. As well as getting the galaxy's goods to them through the mists.

This invitation had lead her to Lorell Hall which might or might not have been part of the Palace itself. If it wasn't part, it was very close to that structure. In her mind they had to be connected, perhaps some sort of passage between the two. However that wasn't what she was concerned with at the moment.

Word had reached her ears of some unrest here and in her mind there was no logical reason for it. Calling on her apprentice to continue his training and help keep both of their skills on edge. Their purpose for now was to attempt to find out what was causing the unrest or the who behind it.

Miss X. It was such a simple and mundane code name, but Tmoxin supposed it did the trick as well as any other for her cover. Very soon she would be attached to the Heritage Council by her actual name, but by that time she hoped to drum up enough support for a new Hapan era, one that would see Hapes as mighty and strong as it was during the reign of Ta'a Chume. The Hapan Heritage Council was a completely fictional entity, the LLC only traceable to her brother’s clinic on Hapes. But if she could somehow legitimize it with a blood transfusion of sorts from ambitious home-worlders like herself instead of this completely absent-seeming government…what wonders could be achieved for her beloved planet!

Would anything change? Maybe. Maybe not. But for Tmoxin this was a high stakes homecoming.

Would her actions affect her family? Her lover? Who knew? The Hapan rarely got permission for anything and never asked forgiveness. The Red Ravens, the One Sith and now the CIS if they caught wind of her orchestration.

She’d betrayed them all. Why stop now?

The Sovereign Stingray landed gently on a pad directly adjacent to the Fountain of Youth Clinic, her brother Armand’s place of work. As usual he would not interfere as he had always been the most consummate Hapan son, despite his occasional foray into rebellion.

Although Tmoxin had learned to not trust anyone. Even the passenger who rode with her. Scratch that.

Especially the passenger who rode with her.

"We just need to meet up with Tha'ga, and then we can head to the Palace." As the redhead turned to debark, she asked the man beside her, “Do you wonder why I chose you and not Varas to accompany me? And what is going on with that daughter of mine these days?"

They were bound together, like it or not, by their scientific creation, a clone named [member="Varas Kyrel"] which contained the DNA from both of them. As much as Tmoxin had been reluctant to agree to such a permanent tie to [member="Kyrel Ren"], she now wondered if the shared child between them had also kept her from being murdered unexpectedly by him. The last encounter they had together almost resulted in fatal violence until a radiation leak from Morpho Labs where they happened to be caused a manic evacuation of the building, and the Dark Jedi had lost him in the crowd.

Yet here they were back on the same side. For now.

Reginald sat idly within his container, pondering the current state of affairs on Hapes and the nature of their contract. Assuming that no disrupting had occurred before the Dozen had reached the planet, it was very possible they could be spending quite a bit of time here, which could mean plenty of experiments and tests of his abilities. An exciting thought, surely, but one that he had an inkling wouldn't be coming about. As a result of that doubt, he had prepared some things beforehand. Some experimental designs for explosives, and an altered form of death stick, namely. There wasn't much of either, as the smuggling procedure left little room for contraband and himself in his container. Two moderate luggage containers, crafted of a fine leather of course; One containing the explosives, the other a small storage of his experimental drug. "...Boarding Check..." Was all Reginald caught as the captain of the Bantha Jumper hailed the Dozen, too deep in thought to process any of the other words in that sentence.

The check went slowly and presumably quite in depth before ultimately and unsurprisingly, they were not found. Even if they had, it would have just been a very bad day for those guards with a minor setback on the mission. The freighter continued along to Ta'a Chume'Dan, where the top of his container was lifted, the first glimmer of light filling his compartment since entering Hapan space. As always, Reginald was dressed decadently, though not in his standard attire in case any of the very few who knew his sense of fashion and current allegiance happened to be on Hapes and assisting the FWC. He was wearing what many Hapan nobles would consider to be a fine suit, colored in a bright blue with white accents. In his hand he carried a bronze face-mask, smooth with no holes for eyes or nose. Just something to cover up his skull, even as antique and pristine as it was. "Ah, thank you gentlemen." he said as he lightly kicked off the bottom of his compartment, launching himself up and out of it via a force-assisted maneuver to give the illusion of strength. "No need to worry about the luggage my good men, I'll get it as soon as we leave. Off you go now."

The instant the crew and captain had left he waved a hand in the direction of his compartment, the two bags floating out and towards him, setting down lightly on either side of where he stood. "Understood. I must admit I didn't do a great deal of research on the city, and my current supply of explosives is quite limited. Do you have a target in mind, or shall I do the honors?"

Marcus waited calmly within the dark confines of the container. It wasn't a glamorous way to travel around the galaxy, but it sure made sneaking past scanners a cinch. The distant hum of the engine was the only thing that he could really hear, and even that was distant. The time in the box gave him the opportunity to reflect on the members of the dozen he'd met. This would be his first mission at their side, but they seemed like a decent enough group right off the bat... Save for that skeleton lookin' guy. He was a bit creepy. Kur himself was imposing and certainly not a man to be crossed, it was easy to feel more confident when the hulking titan of metal and flesh was at your back. He'd heard of someone else who'd be on this OP, a slicer of some sort but she wasn't accompanying them. Maybe he'd catch up with her afterwards, talk shop or whatever. Whatever they thought of him he couldn't begin to guess yet, but he was eager to prove himself useful enough to get a paycheck.

The plan was simple enough, and the sounds of muffled chatter beyond the walls of the hidden compartment was something he couldn't really decipher, but it seemed like everything was moving along smoothly. He couldn't hear any blaster fire at least. He reasoned that it wasn't too bad of a gauge to tell if something was going right or wrong, but he knew the overall goal was not to be discovered. At least that was his goal. The Gen'Dai could probably take on an army before he even broke a sweat. He stretched as much as the container allowed. He didn't look all too impressive for his first day on the job, sporting a few articles of darker clothing including his jacket that he'd tucked in beside his person. It was far too hot to wear while he was in this humid little crate. What made the ride all the more uncomfortable was the pack that sat in his lap. A few det charges, and his 'pad' tucked in behind them. It was a bit cramped in there to say the least.

Finally he could hear the cover of the crate being removed. Fresh air rushed in as one of the crew's faces came into view. He stood, stretching his arms high before pulling himself out of the hold, bag and all. Everyone was already out and about, more or less, and he didn't want to linger around much longer.

"Roger, One."

Rancor Squad. It sounded a bit cheesy, but he could hardly think of anything he'd rather be called. It would do the job for this mission, no need to make things complicated. He 'suited' himself up, zipping up the jacket as the slightly chilled air of the cargo area licked at his skin. Pack slung over his shoulders, he was ready to go. Only thing he needed was a directive from Ku-... Rancor One.

As the contracts from Kur’s Dozen kept rolling in, Zyrias found herself with access to more credits, her bank account not in shambles from the constant gambling she’d been doing on Canto Bight. Steady income? She barely knew what that was much less what to spend it on, but luckily the Dozen kept the Canto Chameleon occupied and out of trouble. At least the kind of trouble she enjoyed causing by herself.

With forged papers in place, decreeing the young girl as a distant relation to a noblewoman nestled somewhere in the Hapan line of succession, she sat in a luxury liner making its way through the Transitory Mists, having just passed the Knot Holes where it stopped to change passengers. Zyrias had been dressed casually for the trip but in the type of bright orange fur and hooded jumper that might signal she was a minor starlet or spoiled heiress. She’d later change into more proper attire, a sweeping Hapan-tailored gown which had been packed tidily and free from wrinkles in a hanging luggage bag. And also tucked in that same bag was her armor, a wrist mounted blaster and a couple of grenades in case she ran into trouble

In addition to her assignment as Rancor Two for Kur, she’d picked up a side gig off the dark holonet.

Once the ship landed near Fountain Palace, Zyrias noticed how tight security was right down to the fact that she needed a special visa to travel. While Hapes allowed tourism they did appear to be an insular, almost paranoid world, but it didn’t take long until she realized why. The sheer beauty of the capital was breathtaking. When she finally reached she’d meet up with an unknown contact at a rendezvous point near Fountain Palace.

Ahead of her, leaning against a tree, looking sketchy as feth, was her designed partner. For some reason Zyri thought she would be paired up with another woman - the Hapes thing. But it was a man. Good, she’d get to boss him around. Females were like super powerful here, weren’t they?

“Hey there,” she said, hauling her luggage behind her and pushing her over-sized sunglasses up onto the top of her head. “Mind taking this for me?” She gestured to the large rolling suitcase.

Mercutio stood with his mistress, shirtless as always, but prepared for battle, two shoto sabers strapped to either of his forearms. He didn't know why he and his mistress were where they were but nor did he ever ask questions, he did as he was told, period.
As they walked towards their destination he began whisper singing

"One little, two little, three little Hapenens..."

He cast a sideways glance to his Mistress and smirked.

Darth Cremaetus stood as a titan when his door slid open. He was completely prepared for battle, his armor having been polished and his blades re-assembled. His glowing sulfiric orange eyes staring down at her from the darkness of his room.

"Good. I've been waiting all night."

He slowly lumbered out of his personal quarters with his helmet tucked under his arm.

"I have taken the title of Knight as my own. Now that my ship is repaired I shall be returning to the Sith Empire, to impart what I have learned during my stay with you upon my father. And it will be the first and last lesson I teach him."

He then slowly lifted his helmet and slipped it over his head, the visor igniting with the same glow as his eyes.

"But I will aide you in this, as repayment for what I have learned."

"We're not here to hunt your average Hapan, but I think one that wants to remain hidden and secret."

It was said in reply to his whispered song. They weren't hiding the fact they were present at all, but as per usual Ra did keep her force presence hidden as well as her alignment. This was second nature to her and within the Coalition only a few people knew could use the Force. One of them was walking with her as her apprentice. Hoping he was taking lessons in how to conduct business along with the few she could throw in for the Force, she almost wondered when his desire to be more than she could make him. That was a day she didn't look forward to, a day when he would break the chains that linked them together.

"So we hunt this person. He or she, probably female since the Hapans are a matriarchal society."

If that was something he didn't already know, she would give him as much information as she had and they could fill in the blanks from there.

"Where do you think we should begin?"

"Excuse me mam, there's someone stating he has business with you and requesting access." Mel looked over to the servant her eyes held no emotion as she thought through what was being said. There were only a few people who would say that had business with her.

"Give him passage and escort to these rooms." The deal was set there was no turning back at this moment. She stood up and walked to the window looking out across the beauty that was Hapes. The restoration of the Fountain Palace she could see it from her rooms. The conference had only closed the week prior all details of the arrangements made had not yet been briefed.

She wasn't sure she wanted to brief them perhaps these dealings should be only for her own benefit. One does not share the last seed of the rarest fruit if dealing with vipers. Hapans were vipers in their own way. Some would sell their souls for a position such as her own. Council, and representative for the Royal Family. It meant she would need to be more aware of those she dealt with.

Such as Azrik.

She glanced down to her calendar and yes they did have an appointment today. She had let it slip her mind. She was preparing to leave for home.

Virtuality (Rush)

The armourclad woman known only as "Cypher", a Commander of Ministry of Intelligence, Section 8, strode through the ancient Fountain Palace. Her suit of armour was of a standard type and style for a Hapan Cyborg augmented and trained on the Rifle Worlds planet of Charubah, mainly of durasteel plates with an armourweave undersuit, black with silver trim and a gold-coloured personal shield projector fixed to the left gauntlet, as well as an optical camouflage system built into the plates. She was armed with a repeating blaster sidearm and a vibrobayonette. This place used to be, in pre-Consortium times, the Pirate King's stronghold. It had been more spartan in many places at the time, and much smaller, less labyrinthine than it was in modernity. Once, this fortress held hordes of treasure from a thousand worlds, slave women taken from just as many worlds, and weapons of every kind imaginable at the time. It had also been the staging ground for the revolution. After the revolution that was the birth of the Hapes Consortium, it became the first Queen Mother's official residence and immediately renovated into something more opulent and inviting. Of course, the Palace had been retrofitted, renovated, and restored many times over the millennia, but many sections of the building still held fast to their ancient history. The basement floors, however, still felt like some kind of elaborate museum structure meant to be a living reminder of the past.

On one such basement floor, a central computer system was exclusively used by M.I. 8 operatives. It had both direct and indirect access to most any government computer system in the City, and by extension, the planet. If she wanted to, Cypher could use traffic holocams to get a realtime, three-dimensional view of what citizens were doing on the main downtown streets less than a kilometre due east of her position, or hack into a security cam in a Ducha's island villa on the other side of the planet via satellite uplink. These dark corridors were among the most secure in the Hapes Cluster; it had been said that maximum security prisons fell short in a number of ways, in point of fact... a fact that bothered Cypher mildly, since it suggested that dangerous criminals could be broken out of prison easier than getting direct access to just the corridors of the Palace's basement levels alone would be to the perpetrator of such a daring escape. The corridors were dimly lit, requiring Cypher to use her helmet's infrared visor system to see better, due mainly to Hapan nightblindness. She knew not why they weren't better lit by now, but it wasn't her place to question it.

Cypher came to the main Intelligence computer hub, logging her credentials through double DNA verification, retinal biometric scanning, and her credential implant. The implant itself as well as an unknown number of DNA sniffers placed in seemingly random areas in the dimly lit corridors regularly verified her authorization to be there to the point-defense laser emplacements that would track and shoot any unauthorized personnel present with continuous particle beams akin to that of a blaster, except not in bolt form. This ensured that an intruder would have virtually any known means of protection from conventional blasters stripped off of them nanoseconds before being sliced and diced in a way that might remind one of a lightsabre... almost, anyway. It was the primary reason why these subterranean structures were devoid of vermin. Once inside, the accessway closed behind her, locking again. Cypher would then settle into a seat, opening a port on the main computer terminal.

The woman removed her helmet, revealing a head of red hair bound back into a tight bun, an unfreckled but fair complexion, and green eyes. Behind her right ear, at the base of her skull, was a cyber-jack with which she could plug her brain directly into a computer system and project her consciousness through its matrix; a ghost in the machine, so to speak. Most cyborgs in the Hapan military and intelligence community had one for exactly that purpose. It was one advantage they had over cybercriminals and other enemies of the state, on internal and external Holonets or in 'meatspace'. She slid into the jack a special cable she carried in a pouch on her utility belt and the other end into the waiting port on the terminal, groaning quietly with pleasure as a slight surge of dopamine and serotonin rushed through her nervous system in response. As she closed her eyes and thought, her mind crossed the barrier from her neural synapses into the periphery of the machine's internal memory with a brief flash on her optic nerves. To her, the inside of the computer seemed almost like another world hidden and separate from the real world she resided in. Phase one was complete.

"I'm in..."
