SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Layered Protection: Cabarello-series Armored Clothes uses layers of weaved molytex and quantum fibers to encapsulate small pockets of thermal gel to form relatively flexible clothe. This cloth forms most of the clothes, though there are also thin and relatively small Betaplast trauma plates located over vital organs. The shape and size of these plates are dictated by the individual and the style of clothing, as concealment is prioritized over comprehensive protection.

  • Bio-bacta-based Biorestorative underlay: All Cabarello-series Armored Clothes incorporate a biorestorative underlay which consists of several small bladders of bio-bacta in its inner layer. When an attack penetrates the armor and into the flesh, it also penetrates the bladders, causing the bacta to immediately leak into the newly caused wound as well. The small amount of bacta stored within the clothes' bladders mean that this only provides a minor boost to the body's natural healing process.

  • Deceptive Appearance: Cabarello-series Armored Clothes appear to be normal clothes or basic uniforms suited for a variety of occasions and environments.
Strengths:

  • Innocuous Appearance: Cabarello-series Armored Clothes appear to be entirely normal pieces of clothing for the circumstance, allowing someone to wear protection in circumstances where it would socially unwise or inappropriate to wear more typical forms of armor (spies, diplomats, etc).

  • Second Wind: Cabarello-series Armored Clothes include a limited amount of bio-bacta in internally lined bladders, allowing users a minor boost to healing functions. Because of the nature of the design, this is a one-time use feature.
Weaknesses:

  • Weakpoints: As Cabarello-series Armored Clothes mimic the appearance of typical clothes, there are often areas of the body that aren't covered or protected that most armors normally would protect. The face is almost universally unprotected for example, but there are other obvious examples: a skirt in this clothing line wouldn't protect the legs, nor would a casual short-sleeved shirt protect the wearer's lower arms.
DESCRIPTION

With a galaxy constantly in turmoil, Lucerne Personal Defense realized that many average people and non-combat professionals frequently found themselves caught in the crossfire of opposing forces or attacked by opportunists taking advantage of the conflict's chaos. To that end, they designed a method of armor construction that allows users to inconspicuously and comfortably wear armor in every day life, whether while simply walking down the street to work or attending a sectorial ball. The result was the Cabarello-series Armored Clothing line.

While technically a type of armored clothing, Cabarello-series clothing takes much of its inspiration from the armored jumpsuit originally employed the jedi. Whether its trendy clubbing attire or a formal business suit, each Cabarello-series starts out as finely spun layers of quantum fiber and molytex which encapsulate thermal gel. The fabric alone provides reasonably protection from many common threats, such as low-velocity slugs, slashing knife attacks, and shrapnel. The addition of thermal gel within these layers helps strengthen the fabric upon impact, increasing that kinetic resistance to average levels. However, the gel's greatest benefit is in vastly increasing the ability of the armor to absorb the heat produced by blasters and other like weapons, making it roughly comparable to reinforced fiber armor. As an extra bit of insurance, diminutive betaplast plates are commonly added underneath these layers to better guard vital organs, such as the heart and lungs. While this provides relatively good protection against weapons encountered in the hands of common street criminals and many soldiers, this armor does not stand up well to heavier personal weapons or sustained fire. Knowing that, Lucerne Personal Defense included a final layer which contains very small amounts of bio bacta in an artificial bladders to act as a biorestorative layer. When an attack penetrates through the armor, it also penetrates through these thin layers, releasing the bacta to poor directly into the wound itself. This gives users a better chance of physically recovering in order to better survive or escape the situation at hand.

While clearly not up to par with many commonly found military-grade battle armors, Cabarello-series Armored Clothing is much more discrete and comfortable for daily use by the average, non-combatant person. This practicality has seen strong sales to many civilians, from undercover law enforcement agents to wealthy socialites. While commonly found clothing types are almost always stocked, for the right price, Lucerne Personal Defense will fabricate custom outfits tailored to an individual's tastes and proportions. Lucerne Personal Defense can also easily fulfill contracts to larger groups to supply Cabarello-series that appear as typical uniforms. The Directorate fleet is among these customers, outfitting their sailors in smart-looking "naval blacks" that can now provide them with basic personal protection.
