Planet: Ruusan
Taeli sighed as she surveyed the ruins of the old Jedi Academy here. The raid by the One Sith upon it had taken its toll and now only a shattered husk was left. Work crews and all sorts of other beings were starting to arrive though. Jedi, officials and soldiers from the military, even some Senators might show up. It was time to begin revitalizing the area, but properly this time, and with a new direction.

The enclave here had been little more than a small outpost to look over the Valley of the Jedi, mercifully untouched by the Sith attack, but it had just highlighted to her this place needed something new, something more. The Academy would become a focus of research and development for the Jedi Order, the sciences and philosophy cornerstones of the new Ruusan Academy ... and she was not about to let the same fate happen to this place should the Sith or other enemies attack it.

Defenses would be built, military grade. Research labs, meditation sites, a hanger, everything one could think of, or whatever someone helping the rebuilding could think of was allowed. This overhaul was being financed personally by her, so cost was no problem for the building. It was time to start.

(OOC Note: I'm leaving it very loose on what everyone will want to do, go about your own thing in the rebuilding. This is all about having fun and developing something cool for the Jedi and the Republic)

It had been the first in a long time but Morgana was glad to be involved with Jedi business again. Ever since her knighting and official decrements to become next in line to inherit the throne of Effekt things had felt pretty chaotic for her. From her mother's odd behavior after her birthday party to the growing unease that she was feeling from the force, being around her aunt [member="Taeli Raaf"] to aid in the reconstruction of the temple on Ruusan was a nice change of pace. It reminded her of the life she had before everything was revealed. Before the secret of her birth was known. When things were tough but simpler. It almost made her pine for those days.
She stood with her aunt and asked "So where are we supposed to start? The temple looks like it needs more than just a new pain job." she joked.

Leveling a durasteel beam on his shoulder, multiple others floated behind him as he slithered over to a large laid out area that was marked for construction. Lifting three of his hands, the beams were lifted high into the air, spacing themselves evenly before Mak sent his hands down, having the beams crash into the ground. Sighing, he wiped his brow before he nodded to several droids who came over and began to place down the foundation for the laboratory.

Pulling out his pipe, he placed the stem at the tip of his mouth, enjoying a smoke as he looked at a datapad, analyzing the construction.

Corvus surveyed the site. Only a short while ago they'd reclaimed this planet and returned it to Republic hands. At the time she decided to have a second Academy - only its specialism (or otherwise) was to be considered.

But then her choice of HeadMaster turned her down and she wondered what to do. And then she wondered some more. And when the Sith attacked what was effectively a shell of a site, her mind was made up. Her sister and fellow Master [member="Taeli Raaf'] had an idea for the site and Corvus listened and agreed.

So here she was to...well to just watch and see what transpired. For once she was a spectator - albeit one that would roll her sleeves up if necessary.

The Gnost Dural sat in Orbit above the skies of Ruusan and several soldiers and Jedi scurried about. Kian sat quietly in the turbo lift with Soli Baris standing beside him fidgeting. The girl was clearly nervous, though what about Kian wasn't entirely sure.

"Why are you fidgeting?" Kian asked, tilting his head to the side to examine her.

"I'm sorry sir." Soli said shrugging. "You've never left me in charge before." Soli admitted and Kian chuckled.

"What are you talking about, you've been in charge a dozen times?" Kian interjected.

"Yes, but there was always a higher ranking Jedi here." Soli said after a moments hesitation. "Its never just been me."

Kian considered what she said and it dawned on him that she was correct. The mobile base of the Jedi Shadows always had a number of Jedi on board as they recovered from assignments or prepared for their next. However, at the moment most were away and the few that were on board were going with Kian to the surface to aid in the set-up of the academy. Nodding his head in acknowledgement, Kian turned to the girl.

"You've proven yourself time and time again." Kian said placing a hand on her shoulder. "In those times, did you ever need to turn to those Jedi for aid?" Kian asked but knew the answer. "You can handle this, trust in yourself and trust in the force."

Soli didn't say anything but Kian could feel in the force that she was thankful for the words of encouragement. When the turbolift doors opened they were at the entrance to the hangar. Kian stepped out and walked to the center. The hangar was alive with activity. Situated out in front of him were several units of YVH-2 droids and EMBU Droids, all being directed into a number of dropships.

Kian was bringing Ruusan some much needed security.

~ ~ ~
As the dropships settled down, Kian lept out and stepped aside as one of the security officers from the Gnost Dural began to offload the droids that were aboard. Each dropship carried a payload of security droids that Kian had agreed to bring to Ruusan to safeguard the academy while it was being constructed and who would remain after the academy was built.

"Grandmaster Raaf, Master Raaf," Kian said tapping into the comm channel. "I've arrived with the security forces and will begin them on securing a perimeter." Kian said, not knowing who else was here aiding in the construction of the academy.

"Where am I needed?" Kian asked. He had his own reasons for being here. There was a plan in place to put a Shadow base beneath the Academy. Kian had already decided, in keeping with the nature of the Ruusan Academy, that if such a base were constructed it would be a research facility for the Shadows. Kian glanced around as he made his way toward the center of the construction site and watched as several Jedi from the Gnost Dural worked on getting the security droids offloaded.

The dropship I was on was about 90 seconds away from the jedi temple on Ruusan. Jedi and others from all over the republic were helping in the reconstruction. I myself was responding to a call from a commander needing help in setting up defences. Most of it was blaster turrets and AA guns though there are some nice little toys in here too.

The dropship descended to the forward command post and I stepped off. Soldiers started to get equipment from ship and it seemed like they were putting it almost anywhere at random. I walked over to a table surrounded by six men looking at a hologram projection of the temple. As I approached one of the men saluted me and said "A Jedi thank the force you showed up when you did, I have over a hundred men on this rock carrying weapon and hardware and I don't know where to put it".

I bowed to him and said "Alright commander what are my options". Before he could speak I heard a transmission on my comms. It was master Karr with some more men. I didn't reply because maybe Grandmaster Raaf wanted him somewhere else.

"Let's start by getting the structure stable, then start moving stuff in and expanding on it," Taeli said. "My employees will handle most of the heavy lifting and set up of systems, do what you think will contribute most to the project. Sis, maybe you want to set up a nice place of meditation ... maybe something that is in remembrance of all those Jedi that have lost their lives on this planet?"

Taeli started patching into the Aurora Industries personnel comm lines, issuing order and instructions to each member of the overseer team. Building materials were being unloaded as more freighters came in, an Aurora Industries company fleet in orbit to provide security and establish orbital defenses and checkpoints. What happened would never happen again, not without a major fight.

"Ma'am, work teams one through three have begun moving the heavy equipment in, team four is reporting that our freighters carrying the lab equipment will be arriving in system in several hours, and in the mean time they will be working on getting power and other utilities up and operational. Security and team five are offloading the defenses and shields."

Travot stood at the edge of the valley, watching the sunlight fall down to suffuse the ancient carvings of the jedi masters with a golden glow. His emerald eyes swept across the group of heroes before lingering on what seemed to be a familiar face. I wondered how the sith they faced compared to the ones romping around here these days...He briefly recalling his duel against a pair of sith acolytes near the entrance to Academy. I shouldn't be doing that...I should be back at work...The young man turned to face a gray-hued droid.

"l-3, hand me another one."

The hulking droid promptly complied, handing him a silver rod. Travot promptly drove the shaft into the dirt, focusing his strength on plowing through the soil beneath him. he released his grip on the pole before gently shaking the rod. It vibrated somewhat, but it was now firmly rooted in the ground. He wiped a bead of sweat from his hand. He turned his eyes once more to the droid, but the mechanical being was already ahead of him. The droid tapped a button on the remote control, and the sensor beacon's sensor arrays sprouted out from the shaft like a budding plant.

"How many do we have left I-3?"

"Twenty before we return to the base camp."

Travot nodded, "Well, if we're going to get complete coverage of the area...we better get moving."

About an hour went by and we have already set up three outpost of defenses around the planet. I concentrated on the force as I moved three crates of supplies onto a nearby walker. As the walker moved to a new location a man came up behind me. I could sense that he was troubled by something. He whispered to me "Jedi..I need to talk to you immediately". The man was dressed up in what looked like a light blaster proof vest and white overcoat. I nodded and said "I'm listening".

He gave me a data-pad that had a list of holo-recordings that go to and come from a blocked source. He began with "I am agent Elias Alzal with G.R.I.M, I am investigating rumors of spy in our midst and we think he is relaying info to our enemies". At first I was a little sceptic but I could feel he was telling the truth. I then asked "Do we have a clue about who this person is". He laughed and said "If I did then I wouldn't be here right now but I do know that he is working on the temple construction". That only narrows it down to 300 people and droids. I then snapped my fingers and said "I could contact Grandmaster [member="Corvus Raaf"] she would know what to do".

He pulled out his Holo-comm and said "Here use my comm it's untraceable and not on the main network" . I called Master Raff and said "Master if you can see this then we might have a little problem on our hands".

The grief. It was overwhelming. It tore at his being and it was not without great effort that he managed to sheild himself from collapsing into the sensation. allowing emotions, despair, grief, and sense of vengeance take over.
[media]https://youtu.be/LCDkJSNY0NQ[/media]

But no. He knew he had to be bigger then that. Or he would start the path that lead to become like those poor souls who had caused so much suffering to this place. to the beings who used to live here.
It was a beast of hatred and vengeance, incapable of realizing the pain it kept causing. Perhaps it even enjoyed this sensation.

Mantic took several steps upward on the hill overlooking the ruin that had been a jedi outpost on the planet. He shook his head to himself. For a moment he felt alone and abandoned. but then the sound of machines working the ground around the structure broke his thoughts. People from all over had come to rebuild. To reestablish life and order to this location. they were hurt, a notion most terrible. But there was also proof of hope and love here.

Yes, they were hurt but not defeated. the light was here, much stronger then the dark. He pressed his hands together and bent his head down, meditating on this for a brief moment. It helped purge himself from the dark emotions and as he finished he had returned his focus to help.
He ventured down the hill and into the group of works battling with removing large chunks of debris blocking them from driving further with their machines.

He nodded at them and grabbed a shovel.

"Lets make it happen folks." he smiled at them and a wave of comfort and decisiveness left his presence empowering the workers who turned to each other with renewed strength and joy.

It would take time, and as sweat poured down from the broad backs of the men Mantic made sure to be there, aiding them physically but also reminding their souls of the light that was theirs. Theirs to trust and turn to whenever the darkness came to close.

Ruusan, a place full of history and yet another that had been ravaged long ago by the Sith and even more recently as well by the very force he was put in this Galaxy to destroy. He took a deep breath as he wandered the miraculously untouched Valley of the Jedi. Its wealth of power and knowledge was nearly tangible, though what else was to be expected? He was near the center of one of the most powerful Force Nexuses in the Galaxy. What made this place so powerful? It was rumored that a Thousand souls of Jedi were trapped somewhere in the mystical valley though Turin wasn't the studious type and thus the history was lost on him.

The recent touch of the Sith had not been subtle. Ruusan was sensitive to the the ebb and flow of the Force. Their influence had left some of the Bouncers less than pleased. Some had become violent, causing trouble for the Republic forces attempting to build a new temple on the planet. It was unfortunate but their telepathic abilities had slowed construction nearly to a halt in some places and so he had volunteered to put the small creatures out of their misery.

He felt there were darker things at work however...

After a short hyperspace jump from Shili, Senator Na landed on Ruusan, the first stop on her planetary tour of the Galactic Republic territories. As a newly-elected representative, for her Togruta home-world, she felt it was her duty to both Shili and the Republic to assess the state of security, trade and policy both with allies and enemies alike. For the sake of her beloved race.

The Togruta species had a long history with the Jedi Order, so the once majestic, Ruusan Academy was an appropriate location to begin her investigation. Security was tight around the recently attacked Jedi Order training center, but once Zalaam and her colorful Togruta attendants provided the exact credentials they were admitted onto the grounds.

Senator Na strode across the grass in front of the Academy in exotic and patterned Shili robes, her akul-tooth necklace clinking in a percussive rhythm with each foot step. She came bearing gifts for the Academy - not just alluring trinkets but material support to help rebuild and resupply - but who would greet the stately Senator to collect them?

Wiping the sweat from his brow Mantic looked up from the labour he had been doing for some time now. He blinked at the sun and shielded him with a hand to give his eyes some shadow.
A new transport was landing and it bore the marking of a republic senator as it landed.
He looked over the field to the nearest jedi master who pojnted for him to go tward the ship.

With haste he moved across the field and put back his clothes, a plain tunic and his jedi robe as he did. Making sure his saber hilt was firlmy attached and looking proper he stopeed just behind a large boulder and brushed himself of as well as correcting his stance before stepping out to await [member="Zalaam Na"] as she would be passing.

Once she closed in Mantic bowed to her and smiled.

"Welcome to Ruusan Senator. Allow me to accompany you to your destination."

Zalaam smiled widely, showing the tips of her sharp incisors, capable of crushing the bones of a small Thimiar as she had a propensity to do at mealtime. Needless to say there was never a vegan option on the menu for Senator Na.

“I am pleased at your cordial welcome. Please call me Zalaam. There is no need for such formalities as we are allies. Shili stands strong with Ruusan, and I am proud to call you a friend,” Senator Na said in Basic but punctuated by a thick Togruti accent.

“I look forward to tour of how the rebuilding efforts are going, but first, I bring gifts for the Academy.” With a wave of her delicate red-skinned hand, she beckoned one of her Togrutan assistants who brought a flimsiplast memo and presented it to [member="Mantic Dorn"]. As he read through it, Zalaam would explain. “I am sending two of our finest Togrutan Knights from one of the main Academies on Shili. Our government will pay their wages, and they will offer their training, services and protection for free.”

She tilted her head to the side, her light purple eyes analyzing him for a reaction. “We’ve also brought along some training droids, and I am personally making a material donation for the anything needed in the reconstruction. That will be wired to your financial office.”

She gathered up her robes, so that she didn’t trip on the hem as they walked and said, rather firmly, but not unkind: “Now I’m tired of hearing myself speak. It’s your turn to show me just how the rebuilding effort is going.”

"No, I want it more leveled it out. Add another layer on top of the foundation."

One of the droids came over, looking at the datapad.

"But Master Manto, another layer of duracrete will make it extremely hard for the walls and ceiling to be established.

"We'll figure out a way to get that established. A strong layer for the foundation, however, will fare much better against an attack from space."

Nodding, the droid went back to work. Continuing to smoke, Mak lifted several two support beams, bringing them on opposite ends of the building before turning to see Mantic Dorn with a Togruta woman. Slithering over, Mak gave a bow before placing a hand on Mantic's shoulder.

"Well underway, Senator. We have multiple areas of the facility being constructed on as we speak. Is there any specific area you'd like to look at first?

[member="Mantic Dorn"] [member="Zalaam Na"]

Mantic felt a bit uncwertain on how to act regarding the generous gifts. And was about to tell her that he would show her to a master who could acept the gifts properly.
But Maks comforting hand made the journey to his shoulder before he could act on it.

He took a bow at [member="Mak Manto"]

"Master Manto, I was just about to fetch a master to see to these gifts." Mantic smiled and smiled with relief.

He took a step back but remained in the vicinity should either of them require some assistance.

[member="Zalaam Na"]

The Shili Senator was delighted to see a Thisspiasian Jedi undulate over on his strong reptilian tail. With a regal nod, she acknowledged his question.

"No specific area," Zalaam answered. "However, I would like you to escort me to the dining facilities when it's mealtime," she said, flashing a white row of particularly pointed teeth. "I think you and I have the same taste in Rodentia." She leaned in and said, somewhat conspiratorially: "I also prefer my meat raw at times. But I don't indulge unless I know it's from a premium source. One can never be too careful."

She turned to Mantic Dorn, and then her eyes widened. "Master Manto, it's a pleasure to meet you! Do you oversee the entire Ruusan Academy or are you of the professors?" Zaalam asked. "And what is your enrollment like?"

Senator Na was curious, perhaps overly so, but such was the purview of a politician. And if they chose to do so, they would be able to detect a Force aura surrounding the young, female Togruta. It was a neutral energy, both raw and untapped as Senator Na had never had any specific training to cultivate her own Force abilities.

Jaccer was approaching the rapidly in a military style drop-ship. Usually, in this situation the lieutenant would be invading the planet but today was different. Jaccer was not here for war or violence. In fact he wasn't here on military business at all. Using the resources available to him from ownership of The Orion Corporation, he would provide the planet with the necessary weaponry and defensive to prevent any future attacks from the One Sith or any other forces who want to test their might. If the Galactic Republic was this motivated in protecting this planet, it was Jaccer's duty as a soldier to aid in this act.

The weaponry and defences would not be provided immediately because right now Jaccer was on a reconnaissance mission. By travelling around the planet via his ship, he would be able to locate the areas in need of defence and begin to developing rough ideas on what equipment would be best suited. So far he had only visited a small portion of the locations in dire need of service and was currently moving to another. Having never been to Ruusan for any prolonged period of time, Jaccer didn't know his way around very well. This meant that at every location he needed someone to tour him around.

The next location was nearing, therefore Jaccer sent out a comm message to anybody on the ground. "This is Lieutenant Ramirez of the Galactic Republic. I am requesting for somebody to other me their services and tour me around my next point of interest."

Overhearing a general message from [member="Jaccer Ramirez"] Mantic took a bow at [member="Mak Manto"] and [member="Zalaam Na"]

"It was a pleasure to meet you senator. If you excuse me I will go see to my other duties and leave you in the good care of Master Manto." he backed off and turned pressing a hand toward his ear piece.

"This is Jedi Knight Dorn Lieutenant. While your services are needed planet wide the jedi academy is being rebuilt and this location could use your aid in planning and setting up perimeter defenses should the location become a target in the future again." he answered.

"If you schedule allows time for it your input as military expert would be most appreciated."

Mantic looked up toward the sky checking if the ship hailing was anywhere near.

"Copy all. I will be touching down shortly." Jaccer spoke into his communication system in response to the Jedi Knight.

The lieutenant was lucky that Dorn had answered his requests. Without the help, Jaccer would've been stuck as he had no idea where he would be going. This planet was completely foreign to him and he had never been to or around a Jedi Academy before.

"I will be touching down at landing platform four," It didn't take long for the dropship to near its destination. Soon enough it's decent has begun and Jaccer's voice was drowned out by the sounds of the thruster jets on the hard concrete floor. Not long afterwards the clank of the landing gear followed.

"Feet are on the ground." The soldier finished before turning off his comms and exiting the ship via the rear ramp.
