STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :

Built like a tank (+/-): Travot is a big man and reasonably muscled from his athletic training and life on the hardscrabble fringe. While he has a great deal of upper body strength, he is not flexible, nor is he good at running long distances. He often states that he "doesn't do cardio".

Can't teach an old dog new tricks (-): Travot is a little bit old to be a padawan, and frequently has troubles wrapping his mind around more arcane concepts of the Force that a younger, more open mind might grasp more easily.

Past Life: Fringer (+): Travot has picked up some skills and experiences from his life exploring the fringe, including basic gunfighting skills, how to pilot a tramp freighter without crashing it, and the like. This brief but intense period of life has also introduced him to several reliable contacts and several cultures on the fringes of galactic civilization.

APPEARANCE: Ravenna has husky, athletic build that screams out bludgerball linebacker to sports fans, and his has the swag to go with it. It's not unusual for him not to shave for several days, and when he does, he still typically leaves a mustache or a goatee. He typically does not wear traditional Jedi clothing, but wears common clothing that would seem more fitting on a smuggler, scout, or other fringe-like character. It's not uncommon to see him wearing a blaster pistol in a thigh holster.

BIOGRAPHY: Travot Adrian Ravenna was born to Marie Ravenna on Susevfi shortly after her husband’s death at the hands of the Death Dealer Pirates. Fearing those that had killed her husband, Marie took the infant Ravenna and quietly left Susevfi, searching throughout the Quence Sector for a safer place for her child to grow up. In galaxy that was ripe with chaos and violence, she had little luck finding that one place. Initially, she moved to Xiunsrus. However, the Bloodsniffer Swoop gang frequently raided, and then destroyed the village where they lived. Adrian was several years old when they moved again. Marie tried several locations around the Empartheca system. Finally, they settled on Elshandruu Pica, a health resort world, when Adrian was ten years old.

In his youth, Travot’s primary interest was understanding how the galaxy and its peoples. around him worked. His travels and continual moving within the Quence Sector gave him oppurtunities to meet a variety of people, and in most cases, the curious boy frequently talked to strangers, about anything from their culture to their clothes, much to his mother’s dismay. Eventually, Travot had absorbed much commonplace knowledge about a variety of people and their situations, that he was able to quickly and accurately size up people and situations. It became pure intuition. In his younger teen years, he became able to use this intuition to quickly adapt to of understanding and emulating peoples of different backgrounds.

In his Elsandruu Pica school, Travot became involved in a variety of after school activities, from Bulger Balling to acting in the school’s plays. Popular Bulger Balling, with its rigorous concentration on strength and agility, forced him to train hard physically. While did not emerge as the fastest or strongest of any of the players, Adrian was generally both faster and stronger than the average human. While the young Ravenna was in Bulger Balling by peer pressure, his real love was in acting. He found himself enthralled in the dramatic plots, the stunts, the characters, and the scenarios. While he played several parts during these years, he was best known within the Drama Club for enthusiastically generating a flurry of ideas for ways for improving play quality or adding twists to well-known plays. Most of these never came to fruitation, as Travot usually didn’t follow through with the ideas once he had convinced his fellow club members with his enthusiasm. Academically, he was a fair student…when he attended class. He frequently complained to his mother that the classes were too confining and routine to be of much interest to him.

Late during Travot’s senior year, his mother was killed in a freak landspeeder accident. The now-orphaned boy’s world seemed to collapse around him with her death. He grew cold even to his closest friends, irrationally believing that they were going to disappear from his life just like his mother. They did. After graduating, his friends were flung across the stars, going to different universities, travelling, working, or enrolling within a military. He was alone. During this time, Travot took a small job at the local cantina in order to pay his living expenses. He frequently amused himself during these jobs by eavesdropping on his customers, hearing a variety of stories and rumors. One day, he managed to run into a rogue jedi knight, who sensed the man's latent, but untrained force user potential. After hearing Ravenna's story, the knight was able to persuade Travot to follow him with a bit of the truth, and a bit of a good old fashioned jedi mind trick.

Ravenna packed up his belongings, including several duraplast boxes that his mother had packed but that he had never opened, and set out on the journey of the lifetime in the knight's tramp freighter, the Plainswalker. They explored several fringe worlds together, and Travot learned a little about the Force. But the last adventure saw his mentor's death and found the young Travot rudderless. Despite rumors of his Jensaarai heritage, the man decided to journey to Ossus, where his master had learned as a padawan.

While somewhat older than many of the other padawans, Travot has found that his size and life on the fringe has granted him different perspectives than many of the other padawans. His age has also granted him a little bit more independence than what is typically afforded to padawans, though his abilities are not any greater than them on average. Travot has taken a special interest to the history of the order and many of its rituals and customs, especially those that could be adapted to his brief period of life on the fringe. He frequently practices Broken Gate as often as he does lightsaber practice. It's not uncommon to find him on his old master's ship, the Plainswalker, either tinkering with it or just finding someplace quiet to think.

Equipment:
Travot typically wears a mixture of fringer and jedi garments, though they nearly are all in natural earth tones. He typically wears a Tuff1 jumpsuit underneath his normal clothing, with a simple, nondescript light brown cloak and tabard over that. He wears a utility belt with several bantha hide pouches holding survival rations in pill form, a A99 Aquata breather, a SW-95 comlink, a Imagecaster miniature holo-projector, a Grappling Spike Launcher, a thermus with water, a BioTech FastFlesh Medpac, and a pair of Dazzle grenades. It's not uncommon for him to have a holstered pistol of some variety hanging down from it either, and his lightsaber is typically clipped onto it on his right side. He almost always wears his Lanvorok on his left forearm.

Skill Set: Travot mostly focuses on martial skills or those that aid him in surviving the wilds that he likes to explore. Because of this, his skill set is somewhat narrow, but those skills that he does know he knows well for his ranking.

He is naturally gifted telekinetic abilities like those on his father's side of the family, but he is incredibly bad when it comes to any type of mental techniques, either defending against them or using them on other people. He is currently attempting to remedy this in his training, especially after his encounter with Darth Carach at Telti. But he so far has not succeeded in this task. He really shines when it comes to various martial disciplines however. He only knows a few styles, but he has trained and fought extensively with them, knowing how to fully utilize their strengths and lessen their weaknesses.
