Raona was born in the House Skirata stronghold of Kyrimorut. Though she was born on the world she rarely visited as her parents worked as mercenaries in the Outer Rim. Much of that time was spent around the Pamarthe system, watching for pirates and the like on the remote world. It was there she learned to fly and loved it. Under the Empire she joined Skull Squadron, a renowned Mandalorian fighter squadron since the old Clone Wars, the same squadron her namesake, Fenn Rau led. Changes in Imperial policy to staunch the hemoraging Empire were harsh. She managed to escape the world, fleeing to the safety of Mandalorian Enclaves in the Rimward Trade League. Upon her return, she believed things would be better. She was wrong, and the greed of corrupt Imperial sympathetic Mandalorian Governors and Moffs led her to the Mandalorian Rebellion.
