Rangers Lead the Way - SJO Dominion of Antar

Rangers Lead the Way - SJO Dominion of Antar
hytXmdf.png

Objective 1: A corporate dispute has led to small skirmishes in the Antar system, culminating with the blockade of Antar 5. Help negotiate and keep the peace with local Antarian Rangers.

Objective 2: On the dead moon of Antar, orbiting satellites have detected unusual seismic activity in certain areas of the moon. In particular, near the ancient crash site of the Malevolence from the Clone Wars. Explore the moon with environmental suits, and investigate the cause of the seismic activity.

Objective 3: A small group of Antarian Rangers and Jedi have decided to go on a survival exercise in a mountainous region of Antar 4, the original home of the Antarian Rangers. Pack your gear, and get ready for an adventure!

Objective 4: Bring Your Own Objective

Antar 5

High above the planet of Antar 5, a number of gunships, corvettes, and frigates lay in wait around the hyperspace jump point, each emblazoned with the symbol of the Red Hammer Mining Guild. Aboard the flagship Ambition, a Munificent-class star frigate, the Gotal Byrec Arroyo sat in his command chair, chin tucked in, eyes staring dead ahead at the stars. He had made the decision to call for the blockade, and although he was usually seen as a calm and collected man, his fingers were lightly tapping his arm rest.

“Sir, we’ve gotten word that the government has enlisted the help of the Silver Jedi,” a communications officer spoke from her station. “They’re sending a taskforce.”

“Well then,” Byrec shifted in his chair, sitting up a little straighter. He stroked his stringy beard for a moment. “We’ll see who blinks first.”

sjheaderblue.png

Dead Moon of Antar

As the name suggested, the orbiting body was completely devoid of life, and incapable of supporting it. The only site of note was the ancient crash site of the Malevolence, as it had carved a deep scar into the surface. Ship parts that had once been painted a dark grey and purple were now bleached white, and lay in scattered pieces over kilometers of space. If one were to stand on the surface, they would find it eerily quiet. However, every now and then, there would be a rumbling from deep below…

sjheaderblue.png

Antar 4

A UT-60D U-wing transport reverted back into realspace right above the planet Antar 4. Slowly, it began to make its way down towards the surface, passing by the more populated sectors and heading towards the mountains. The blue-painted ship glided effortlessly between the tall peaks, leaving the cities far behind. The sun was beginning to set in the area where they were headed, with golden hues touching the canopy of the forest.

From the cockpit, the shuttle pilot spoke, “We’re coming up on the landing zone now, get ready.”

Objective: 3 - Survival Exercise

Cassius could hardly remember the last time he’d actually flown into a planet and had not been in the cockpit, controlling the craft. It was certainly a change of pace, that was for sure. Parts of him got antsy, like when they pulled out of hyperspace, or when they hit atmosphere. Being in the pilot’s seat for so long, he didn’t realize how nerve-wracking it would be to see someone else fly. Although, since he was actually participating in the survival exercise, someone else had to drop them off.

No communications, no over-abundance of technology, just the Jedi, the Rangers, and the elements. They had survival gear, enough to last them a few weeks if necessary, but the main goal was to traverse the valley and make it to the other side of a river. It would be a few days away on foot, and they would need to make camp multiple times.

While food and water wouldn’t be much of a problem, fauna could be. One never knew what type of beasts lurked in parts like this, so far from civilization where they weren’t likely to be hunted. They’d have to keep an eye out for them.

As the pilot told them they would be landing soon, Cassius made sure his pack was secured. They started to lower in altitude… when suddenly alarms started going off. The ship began to shake violently, and Cassius was sure one of their engines exploded. From the small window in the door, he could see smoke start to billow around them as they rapidly descended. He wanted to hop into the cockpit to see if there was anything he could do, but with the ship moving the way it was, he couldn’t even get out of his seat.

All he could do was brace for impact. Closing his eyes, he gripped any surface he could, but it would be little help as the ship smacked into the ground and skidded through the dirt, smacking into fully-grown trees along the way. Finally, the U-wing came to a rest, its s-foils completely torn off, and two of its engine units smoking heavily.

Objective 2: On the dead moon of Antar
Location: Silver Jedi Transport ---> Dead Moon

Sabine sat quietly, hands folded placidly in her lap. While this was just another mission, it was different...

Growing up at the side of her traveling Jedi father, Sabine had visited many worlds and had completed many missions just like this. However, she wasn't very used to going 'round with groups of other Jedi. Life with her father had kept her somewhat isolated, not that she was terribly bothered by this fact. But, it did make socializing with other Jedi somewhat awkward.

Were they more skilled, were they... better than she was?

The questions churned in her mind, but she did her best to push them away. She supposed that things might be very different from now on. Her father, Master Yves Galen, was currently back on Kashyyyk at the Order's temple, Silver Rest. He had kept her in the dark concerning the details, but she'd gleaned enough to know that they wanted him to join their ranks. And if he joined, that would mean that she would join, too.

It wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, either. After all, she did know someone in the Silver Jedi, one [member="Cassius Droma"]. The two had met by chance on Klatooine, and she looked forward to catching up with him one of these days. But, for now... she would simply try to make some new acquaintances. Glancing around, Sabine looked for a friendly face. While she was certainly not anti-social by any means, she found herself feeling uncharacteristically quiet.

Alright, then... perhaps another moment or two of awkward silence would be in order.

The RAC was coming in slowly, Willa had opened her up over the landing pad so te others could depart if needed as she wore the saori dress uniforms. Sleek, form fitted and designed to protect in space or battle in case anything happened. Her armor was there off to the side as she walked and stretched her arms out taking in the sight of the world. Three had a chance and Kiso..... while Lorna walked past her and her augmented visor allowed her to get the information she wanted to get. "There is not much, so what is the goal of coming here... I thought all of the rangers were enlisted helping the Silver jedi." She spoke and looking at the small squad waiting on the ship in case. Redemption squad had been set up with maiden and grey long ago.... but she spoke. "We'll have to see, the rangers were a small group that helped the jedi... all these centuries later it would be strange to see them just isolated here as opposed to out and about helping like they pretty much mandated to do." She got nods but was heading inot the one building as the sounds of band music came, the scent of greasy food and smoke.

Objective 2: Dead Moon Of Antar

Ever since Mirdimorut had paired itself with the Silver Jedi and his meeting with John Locke, Mykes Taff had become more and more intrigued with the Order. So when the opportunity came to work with them, he was not one to turn it down. And exploring a dead moon? Even more exciting to him! He had explored many places, going on many journeys with many crews. Now he had the chance to prove that he was worth more than just being hired. The Order had explained to him that there were tremors going across the moon. He had a few theories. Illegal mining, destabilized surface.

With him he had brought an environmental suit and a mechanics kit. Who knew how handy it could come in. Seated on a transport with others of the Silver Jedi, he glanced around tapping his good foot anxiously. "A fun time ahead" he murmured quietly to himself. "A great time...just exploring a dead moon."

Objective 3

It was time to stretch her wings. While Coren Starchaser was definitely one of the more vocal faces for the Jedi of the galaxy, Brooke here had the capability of being a lot more approachable and understanding. She was a healer, a Witch, and a Jedi. She was around the galaxy to help people, and with her brushes with the darkness before? She was doing her best to keep herself out of the limelight, and definitely away from the front lines. She had been doing her best to take students out and make sure they were not brought into an ‘accidental’ warzone.
Yeah, the focus seemed to be that those were accidental trips. She didn’t believe it for a second.

She had her gear, a dark canvas bag that she threw over her shoulders. On top of her armor, she had her dark brown cloak, definitely Jedi in origin, but much more stylish than the rest. Token had been doing her best to keep herself aware of who was who but when she looked around the U-Wing, she wasn’t quite sure who everyone was.

A few had crossed her mind, but that was about it. She partially wished that she had her datapad, she was going to miss music out here. But that was the point, wasn’t it? The blonde was holding onto the crash webbing when they came in for a landing. She reached out to the Force and her students and helped to calm them down for a second, well, the ones who were a bit more panicky than the rest.

Objective: 2 The Dead Moon
Location: Silver Jedi Transport
Peps: [member="Mykes Taff"] [member="Sabine Galen"]

A small whistle escaped from Sukai's mouth as she looked over the moon, not atmosphere and being largely untouched had left quite the pristine ruins to explore if preliminary scans were something to go by. She had heard stories about this ship, it was large, very larger, it's weapon able to take down 3 venator class SD's in one hit. She counld't wait to explore it's depths and uncover it's secrets, perhaps the Jedi could make a copy of the ship and use it's massive ion cannon in combat. Maybe she could dig up some old droids a reactivate them, always interesting to see what some old B1's were capable of remembering.

Pulling away from the window she looked around, the team gathered was rather small, most seeming to have gone to Antar itself or on that camping mission run by Cassius. Apparently one such person was apart of the Taff family, by name from what little she knew, an engineer and scientist, being the main person to bring all the fancy equipment and tools along for the ride. "I'd not be so certain, we could always run into some driodekas and have our faces shot at, now exploring a moon and fighting, that would be fun".

Camping...it was one of those things that Asaraa both loved and dreaded at the same time, as weird as that was. She had great memories of camping out in the woods of Kashyyyk, and an equal number of horrific memories of getting lost and having to try to find her way back, try being the operative word. There were times when people had had to come to rescue her, Yuroic, Josh or the rangers, but she was determined not to get lost this time. The girl glanced down at the backpack stowed just under her seat as the transport pushed on to their final destination. She'd packed all the normal camping gear that you might need, clothes, swimwear, a bedroll, food and camping supplies. However, she'd also packed not one, not two, but three different kinds of location tools. Maps, datapad and GPS, she was determined not to be the one who got lost this time, although, from the sounds of it, that was the least of their concerns. These were the Antirian Rangers, some of the best troops in the galaxy and more importantly the soldiers who she had spent much of her time with the Silver Jedi with, the same rangers who would never let her live it down if she managed to get lost again. The Jedi Knight slipped her hands through her harness, fingers tightening around the net of webbing as she turned to the window, watching the ground rushing up towards them as the pilot set the craft down. At the very least, with this crew they had on the trip, it was going to be interesting at the very least.

Objective: BYOO (Archeological Dig)

Arrived in: Scorched Earth (http://starwarsrp.net/topic/136853-scorched-earth/#entry1868997)

Wearing 451 Suit (http://starwarsrp.net/topic/136742-451-suit/) (Wearing it under civilian clothes)

Armed with: Heliosphere (Curved Hilt Lightsaber)

Syd stared at herself in the mirror, not quite certain to make of her current look.

She had never worn civilian clothing before today. It had always been her combat suits when marching to war to purge the enemies of The Jedi from existence in a variety of cheesy-action horror ways, dismemberment, and of course, cooking them in an inferno.

But as she had slowly adapted to the new era and its technology (Syd feared she might never get used to all the options now available. As much as she disliked being on her cramped ship due to a claustrophobia, it was one of the few things from the past of a creature that had been too good at its job for its own good had left) she had realized that she essentially was in an era where she was no longer one of the biggest sharks in the waters. Mid-Tier, at best...she had been created in an era slowly trying to shed the horrors of the Plague from their worlds. Disorder, sickness, economic hardship, the aforementioned cheesy action horror, eccentric gangs of borderline Post-Apocalyptic criminals slowly but steadily being wiped out as society reasserted itself, the ruined and wounded Force Orders, finally brought low by the one thing the Force or a lightsaber couldn't solve...the pure, capricious ravages of nature and many many people starting to genuinely question why they keep letting such beings drag them into their wars.

This era? Chaos had apparently been the answer. Gone were the days of either order's authority constantly re-asserting itself galaxy-wide...there was no true hegemony anymore. Planets were won, lost, re-won, and on and on it went, the war economy keeping everything in this regard running like clockwork. She would never run out of her primary purpose, but as the months and weeks wore on after her release, she had no longer taken as much satisfaction for a job well done as she used to...

Syd had done what in the old days would have been incomprehensible...she had finally secured a civilian identity and occupation.

She viewed herself in the mirror aboard her ship. She had dressed as smartly and as plainly as she could, in a brown pair of slacks and shoes and a white shirt, her fiery red hair done into a tight bun and wearing glasses with simple plastic lenses...all to look innocuous. She hadn't changed her basic appearance, that of a curvy, bronze skinned woman with fiery orange eyes, but the difference was striking, at least to her.

Syd had come to Antar 4 not because of an SJO mission...not directly, anyway. Roasting those Sith Rebels recently had made her painfully aware of how much she needed a personal life...her actions on those streets were pretty much what the whole of her first twenty five years of existence had been, except this time she wasn't allowed to torch a whole city to smoke out one Sith Lord. (Don't worry, folks! It was...mostly abandoned! ) No, she had come here to assess some archeological find. As she was slowly starting to find was distressingly common, it was some older than chit Sith tomb. Galaxy was lousy with them...

The Ghost of Flames, now dressed like a mere mortal, turned around in the mirror in her quarters. There was no bed...she had no need for sleep, given what she was, nor a conception of what it would be like to be unconscious. But it was filled with some small trinkets of a sentimental nature...Syd didn't know or fully appreciate the significance behind some of them...marbles, shiny buttons, old coins, a rubber ducky, (Seriously, where had that come from?) pictures of random cats, and books on history.

Syd had a lightsaber, of course, she ALWAYS had one, but it was hidden in her back pack that she picked up. Breathing in the fresh Antaran air and walking down the ramp she was greeted by the dig site's discoverer, a Toydarian by the name of Brannys, hovering with his wings as she exited the Star Courier. The snout fluttered as he spoke.

"Nice ship...most archeologists I know don't ride around in flying tanks..."

"I'm not most archeologists..." Syd replied stoically, not quite grasping how to act normal, which made her come off as stiff and awkward.

Brannys nodded, tilting his head back a bit and gesturing to the tents set up behind him...

"Right this way..."

Syd followed, curiously not sensing the darkness...

Onboard the Immobilizer 419, which, after Ossus, didn't see much service, it was the first time Jessica even tried her hand in orbit, after the disaster at 27-AJ. With escorts in tow, including a few C-9982s (and C-9979s, Hardcells on standby if the need for ground assault was warranted), Skor-IIs and other ships built on the Hardcell chassis, she was as ready as any to go in there to get the issue resolved but not to fire back until the blockade fired first. She had to try other options before there could even be so much as a shot being fired. The Red Hammer Mining Guild. If that was going to go as on Chandaar it would go without a hitch, but she was not so sure this time around, and only when any attempt at mediation, or arbitration even, failed, could they fire, and only if the other parties fired first. However, there was so little information about the corporate dispute that was made available, she had to ask for more information on the nature dispute so a compromise can be found, if any. Potentially excise or tariff disputes, but often negotiations on corporate disputes of this nature hinge on smaller details.

"Open a channel to the flagship of the blockade"

"Channel open"

"This is Master Med-Beq of rhe Silver Jedi Order, we would like additional information on each party's position, and not just the Red Hammer Mining Guild's, and then and only then we can even start trying to make a compromise. Spare no detail you feel is relevant to resolving the issue"

The sound of anxious foot-tapping made Sabine's brows arch. Turning slightly, she realized that it was coming from the seat behind her, along with a slight aura of unease. Sabine sat up and craned her neck to see over the top of her seat, there was a young man muttering to himself.

“You alright, there?” She asked.

Sabine then glanced about, a girl with jet-black hair had spoken up – it seemed that simply exploring a moon was not exciting enough for her. As for Sabine, she was not looking for a fight. After all, she didn't really want to engage in battle while wearing a full environmental suit.

However, Sabine's musings would have to wait. It was time to suit up and prepare to explore. She did own her own environmental suit, which she made sure to bring along for today's outing. After a moment, she was clad in said suit and ready to go. At least the others were dressed much the same, there was no need to feel silly.

“Right, then...” She said, “My name is Sabine Galen, I'm rather new here.”

She felt it best to give them her name. After all, if she happened to go missing they'd be able to identify her – she wouldn't just be that brunette girl no one knew.

“If we're all ready, shall we go?”

“Just Another day in the rangers.” A Major Vox shouted out, his low base voice echoing around the hangar bay!

Echoing at rangers who were scrambling around picking up kit, and boarding one of the two transports. Vulcan-5 and Vulcan-6 to be precise.

“READY UP! LOCK YOURSELVES IN. BETTER A HUTT SQUASHED IN A DURA-CAN, THAN A SITH-SPOT ON THE FAR WALL ” The Houk stomped on over to a Rodian who was smirking, “YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY! WAIT TILL YOU'RE ZERO-G SCRUBBING MYNOCK EYEBALLS OUT OF THE REAR EXHAUST PORTS WHEN WE GET HOME.” His gigantic face inches away from the rodian, the Houk Major from the 91st stomped on over to the next ranger, checking the bracings and the harness, making sure each was in securely.

A Major who at 7ft8 tall happened to be a Houk, a head below Vertigo, but a Houk all the same. Houks! Houks everywhere today. The three man Houk fire support teams were being added to every ranger unit that had requested them, and they had a couple of ranger teams here today on the Kashyyyk-Breath. Four teams across two different Luna Trooper Transports, meaning 12 Houks plus the major. 6 on this first transport, taking up the room almost of two rangers each, their kit another space, and their droid support another space, meant shipping them over wasn’t that easy and they were crammed together. Practically Houk designed shuttles might be a thing of the future, for now, they made do.

“This is not FUNNY. YOU ARE RANGERS. Live and breathe the SJO. DO YOU GET ME!”
“We Get You, Sir!” Was the response from the rangers and the 91st infantry crew that echoed around the transport. Vertigo grumbled but kept that to himself. Ruddy brass and their speeches, couldn’t even find a damn Houk who didn’t like chewing you out before you’d even got out the ship. The Major better be able to shoot straight with that mouth of his in the way.

The wildcards were also crewing the cruiser and shuttles, Kei had setup the most experienced hands to assist in the first real test of what the fireteams could do in the field. Training was one thing, things could look great on paper but till you really put that into action you never knew.

“Alpha-Angel, field check,” the Major did it by the numbers, with each ranger squad-leader confirming ready after checking their men. Houk or not, all their gear was tested thoroughly, “Beta-Right-Hook, field check” Yeah someone was having a crack at the Houk's expense. Vertigo grumbled to the ranger next to him, who seemed to be laughing at him. Guess which team he was on, it wasn’t on team angel that’s for sure. "Charlie-Echo-Six, Field Check." Everyone confirmed except, "Delta-Nova, Field Check." There was a pause, "Nox if you're eating again I swear to the Jedi that i'll..." The comms came on and someone with a mouthful of Dac seaweed answered, "mmCopy Ready Ready. Green light here."

"Command this is field birds. Vulcan-5 and 6 good to go if you need us." [member="Jessica Med-Beq"] sent to the leading ship's bridge currently. The Major and his teams waited and watched the screens ahead of them.

Roona sat, sea-green eyes looking out the view port next to her seat. They would be arriving on Antar soon, and she was very excited for the chance to be outside in the wilderness. But, in her true style, she remained quite stony, one wouldn't know she was excited by looking. The sergeant had earned herself a reputation within the rangers, she was a bit icy – especially with those she didn't know.

And it seemed today would be an exercise in not being totally unpleasant to strangers.

Her fellow Radama Raiders had taken the chance to accompany [member="Valkren Calderon"], but she had wished to take part in the survival exercise. There were a few other rangers from other units present, but they seemed to be keeping their distance. Originally from Ossus, Roona felt best in the mountains, she hoped that Antar's rocky peaks would give her the same sense of peace.

Almost on cue, alarms broke through her quiet thoughts.

It took her a moment to realize just what was happening. Her stomach dropped, they were going to crash. Roona hated this feeling, she had no control of the situation – her fate held by their pilot. She drew a breath, trying to hold onto her wits and remain strong in the face of the situation. This couldn't be it... she couldn't die like this. The soldier woman had always envisioned a glorious death on the battle field, not by some transport crash.

Her eyes closed as they hit. The belly of their transport scraped along, and she rocked in her seat as they took out rows of trees on their way. There was a strange sense of calm, despite what was happening.

Location: Transport to dead moon.

Yuroic looked over the datapad on the notes of the mission. He had done his homework on the Malevolence and the seismic activity, he suspected it was just looters or scavengers looking to make a quick buck. However, they were asked to investigate and it was a good chance to see the wreckage. There could be data that would end up useful, it was doubtful with the technology nearly 1,000 years outdated but there was always a chance that there was something if only materials. Yuroic adjusted his environmental suit, it was uncomfortable and quite claustrophobic while necessary to just live.

Looking around, he spotted Sky who he recognised but the other two were not familiar faces. His Padawan, Seth was on the journey as well. He had his Lightsabers strapped to his environmental suit and felt kind of lost without his bow. It was always nice to have it in case he needed it. However, it seemed overkill for this mission. He could sense that others were feeling unsure, not use to groups and working with others. Yuroic smiled, it was a feeling he had when he first joined the Order. It was not uncommon for a lot of people to feel like outsiders. "Hi all, Yuroic Xeraic, Jedi Knight." Yuroic waved as he gave a smile to the group.

Standing up, he stretched and looked out the bay door. "So, we're here to check that there is nothing unusual with the seismic activity. I'm sure once we've done that we can explore some history!" Yuroic said in a cheery tone. He loved reading the history of the galaxy so to actually visit a moon with crashed ruins of a ship was fantastic. But there was an objective before that.

Location: Touch down

Kat listened to the rumble of the engine, it was soothing yet her mind was already thinking of ways to clean the hyperdrive, get the engines running smoother and improving the feel of the ship. However, that was Kat's approach to every ship she was on. Her mechanic life was too integral to her to drop just because she decided to pursue the Jedi life as well. It was interesting to look around and see the other people on the transport with her. A couple she recognised, Roona was a Ranger, she knew that with her short stint as an Antarian Ranger. The other recognisable face was Asaraa, who recently been promoted to Jedi Knight.

Asaraa also seemed to have packed for a week long survival trek. Kat wasn't sure that they would need that many supplies. She had packed a bedroll, map of the area and collapsible cooking pot with ladle. Bare minimum for the trek but meant she was pushing herself. Leaning over to Asaraa. "Congrats on the promotion to Jedi Knight! Must be super exciting!" Kat grinned as she nudged her friend. "Seems like you packed for a year long trip. This isn't going to be a long trek is it?" Kat hadn't really asked many questions beforehand, just jumped on board ready to have fun.

Then there was a boom, an engine had failed. It surprised Kat, she didn't notice anything that lead to the engine to fail. Perhaps they were under attack or an animal got caught in the engine, she would have to see after they crash landed but for now there was little she could do. While she had piloting skills, her focus was on fixing things and the position they were in, she couldn't fix it. Cursing herself for not bringing Shorty, Kat held on tightly as they were going in for a hard landing.

The sounds of the small cantina came to her... the different people around her had gotten the vahla to loosen up while she watched and checked out a few of the rangers with her. The sounds though were singing and drinking as she held up a glass clinking it against each other. Willa sat there and was looking at a few of the others as some of the civilians were coming in. With her braids behind her ears when she leaned back stretching out her arms to relax before she was taking another drink. The others who were around them brought her attention as some of the civilians were being encouraged to dance when the music started.

"Are you certain we should be here... there is a lot we can do around the planet possibly and..... you are watching the blue girl dancing aren't you Isard." SHe raised an eyebrow with a look on her face without turning her head. "Yep." She said it when she looked up and held a hand up motioning another over towards her. With a look at Lorna finally. "Why so what is it that you want to do?" She got a look from the woman and Lorna was speaking. "Well there is a camping trip we could have went out show some survival skills... that we have everything in a small pack on a thigh is easy enough... or there is this small one heading towards some ruins."

Camping sounded dull, sure she could go out there but being in nature was on a planet only so fun. You needed something interesting or useful to make it fun and only dullards would go without equipment to communicate in case of emergencies... thankfuly rangers were generally smart or the ones who taught. New generations who used katarn over guardian or cloth uniforms over saber and blaster resistant materials she viewed more as natural selection. her men would increase their surviverability. Willa was looking at her though as she slide up with a boneless grace getting one of the dancers to cling to her arm. "Hey kitten, maybe later let you see something nice."

THe dancer was blushing and Willa said it while looking towards the door.... "But maybe later.... for now got to go and help someone maybe.... come on." She said it and started walking towards the door with her glass in her hand and finishing her drink while she shook her head to move her braids around over her ears. Her eyes glowed with golden fire as the vahla rolled her shoulders in the uniform walking out and heading where Lorna directed her to go to. "Well she looked a little flushed and disappointed... reminds me when." THere was a jet of flame forming a spike. "Don't, you are many things but you aren't her.... just something he made because he couldn't let go."

Willa wasn't looking to get into it.. Lorna was in a medical facilitiy her body in a coma... this clone was.... well a clone that someone made because they couldn't let go but it had all of her memories, her thoughts maybe.... but it wasn't her. The trek towards the site for ruins and the jedi archeologists were working. She stayed standing though while looking over and tapped the interface pad on her uniforms wrist as one of the veil seeker drones came. "Scout the area and report back to me." A look was on her face before they went in to try and meet Syd with a small group of jedi who were searching out as equipment was laid out.

Seismic activity.. And historical lessons.. Huzzah! Honestly, it was one thing. Seth never felt he'd be inclined to take an interest in. Though now here he was. In the presence of his mentor, and a few other members of the order Seth had become a part of. Over the last several months. In fact the crystal in his pack was a testament to the passing of time. For it had now managed to bond with him. Once more somewhere off world in a safe location. Seth had a set of pups he was raising. Though, he did not feel this adventure would be the right place for four month old creatures.

Seth was also not used to being in a suit designed for resisting environments not quite fit for human occupancy. His adjustment period had been a little less than graceful. A few... Creative collaboration of words had spewed from his mouth as a result. Though now he had composed himself for the most part, and was merely waiting to get the research mission underway. After all.. Maybe he would get lucky, and someone would need smacked around a little bit.

Of course.. Not that it was the focus of the studies. If they uncovered some deep revelation about the world. Seth would be pleased with those results as well. It meant learning about stuff that forced him to expand he current horizons of knowledge.

Objective: 1 - Standby
Location: With Main Silver QRF. - On Bridge of The Concord
Assets: 1st Special Tactics Group, The Concord
"Commander Calderon- Has a nice ring to it, yeah kid?"

Lieutenant Konrad Harris, his teams second-in-command and a trusted friend, caught the newly-appointed commander in a sort of daze staring out of the observation deck of the bridge. Kid wasn't something he was used to be calling usually, being thirty-years-old, but the kind of respect his teammates had between each other was a different level, which had greatly helped their bond and even performance in a firefight. Besides, Harris was a full fifteen years older than himself, and almost a good six inches taller. Valkren gave a curt shrug, before returning his gaze to the surrounding ships in their group.

"Oh the rank doesn't really change much, old man. Job's no different for us, you know that right?" This statement made Konrad pause for a moment, before looking back and forth around the bridge of The Concord .

"Buttt...They gave you a ship, right?" The lieutenant lifted his plated arms while he said that, 'presenting' the ship to Calderon. The two soldiers were the only armored ones on the bridge of the Nebel-class ELINT frigate, the rest were in ranger BDU's or their respected jumpsuits.

Before the commander could reply, Captain Aceen Yul appeared seemingly out of nowhere to the distracted operators. The Kel Dor captain had been the commanding officer onboard this frigate much before Valkren and the Radama Raiders were assigned to it, and his reputation for sticking by the books preceded him. The Captain didn't seem to notice that he startled Valkren and Konrad, jumping right into things.

"Commander Calderon, we are on standby for your orders. Med-Beq has opened up a channel to the Red Hammer Mining Guild and is awaiting a response." As Captain Yul said this, Valk' did his best to determine if the captain had any hard-feelings towards the newly arrived special forces unit that had suddenly commandeered his ship. It was difficult to tell what kind of emotion the Kel Dor was portraying at this point.

"Captain Yul, I'm sure you know as well as anyone else here that I spend most of my time groundside. I think my experience here is a little shorthanded right now, yeah?. This is still your ship, do what you think is best. As long as you get my people in when the moment comes, we'll be good. If you can let Med-Beq know we're here and ready to act, I'd appreciate it."

This statement seemed to make the posture of the emotionless Captain relax, even if only slightly. He gave a quick nod, then turned back towards the observation window, moving to send out the transmission.

"This is Captain Yul of The Concord. Commander Calderon and the Raiders are on standby to insert if needed. Just give us the call." The captain transmitted this to the Silver's in their battle group.

GNN

Galactic News Network Reporting Live!
Objective 4: BYOO Reporting
With None: Solo Post - [member="Roona Osmari"] | [member="Cassius Droma"] | [member="Token Waters"]

A blonde haired reporter brushes herself down and gets ready to broadcast. In 5…4…3…2..aannnnd 1. Live.

“Yes here we are Danzel on Antar 4, and can I say it is a wonderful view up in the mountains here overlooking the valleys below.”

A large mountain range comes into view behind them on the camera. The wind blowing howling about, as the reporter tries to keep her hair straight, and not lose her notes.

Where, just a few miles away Danzel the Antarian Rangers are I am told practicing survival techniques, in the Silver Jedi’s continued upgrading and conditioning of their armed forces. Official sources have informed us this was their original home many years ago.”

The camera pans up toward the sky, zooming in on a nice sunlit angle. The filters stopping the glare.

“Yet far in orbit of Antar 5 the corporate disputes still rage. Though we officially couldn’t get a ship up there to bring you all the results of this tense negotiation, we are certain that the Silver Jedi Order can continue to keep the peace in what is a difficult situation."

The camera pans back to the reporter, who still looks to be fighting the wind, and her fear of heights.

“While we at the GNN like to keep an unbiased view of events, our thoughts and prayers are with the pilots and their families as the men women of the SJO Navy, and Corporate pilots both involved risking their lives to bring the galaxy one step closer to the peace we all benefit from.”

The view of the valley looked peacefully, with little to see or disturb it...

“This has been Marci Rogersi reporting to you live from....” Her smile faded as she saw [member="Roona Osmari"]'s ship, "are you seeing this Danzel, i'm not sure but it looks," she messed with her earpiece, watching the craft skid closer and closer to the ground. The camera panned back to the stunned reporter, then back to the craft, then to their SJO military escort who was looking on in horror. "Call it IN CALL IT IN" [member="Roona Osmari"] Eventually, the feed went dead. Technical difficulties across the screen.

The rest of the nearby Rangers would be getting a panicked call from a military escort on the communicators very soon, a young man, who tried to keep his calm! "Bird. Bird Down! Grid Reference X722412. I repeat Ranger Bird Down! Ranger Bird Down Anyone copy??"
[member="Cassius Droma"], [member="Token Waters"] Whether anyone had a communicator, or could reach them with one on this exercise, the advisor had no idea. All the way up here, there was nothing else he could do but look on in horror.

Objective 1-Standby
Location: With QRF aboard The Concord
Assets: ???

I'd heard of The Antaran Rangers by reputation which in and of itself was impressive. However I was here to see about the possibility of working with them in the future... As it was one place which made sense to have shadows was among spec ops soldiers. Walking silently towards the XO who was in Katarn Class armor I said "Commander Calderon, Jedi Knight Celiana Drayven. If it's not too much hassle I'd like to accompany you and yours should there be need. I'd like to see firsthand how The Rangers do things." As it was I had my own specialties with combat, I usually preferred blades and minimal armor but there was something to be said about using everything I had training in... In any case I was looking forward to working with The Rangers...
