Rangers Lead the Way - SJO Dominion of Antar

Objective 3: SURVIVE!

Kat landed away from the ship's main crash segment. She groaned as felt herself wake up from being unconscious after the crash. Unclipping her belt, she looked around and saw that Asaraa was moving towards the ship, injured. Grumbling, Kat knew she had to meet up with the others, her neck was sore with whiplash of some degree and her chest hurt but nothing seemed broken and she didn't have any major bleeds. However when she tried to stand, her legs would move.

Or at least they couldn't move would be more accurate. Some point during the crash, her robotic legs broken off leaving her with stumps roughly at the knee. It was heartbreaking for Kat. Her fears and memories of being a child came flooding back. Her breath shorten as she felt a panic attack coming on. There was nothing she could do to fix them, she was trapped. She couldn't move, frozen to the chair. How would she reach the others, how would they find her? Though she wasn't far away, panic blinded her to that. Crying silently as she just stared at the robotic leg stumps, scared of what would happen to her on this planet because she couldn't walk anymore.

Mykes Taff listened to the history lesson given from Yuroic. Grievous, he didn't know the name. The Kaleesh he knew of, however. He shivered at what he heard of this legend, how deadly and terrifying he must have been in the war he fought. "Sounds like quite a guy...some real heavy metal" he tried to joke as he came out of the ship with his tools in hand. He stood there then, to look about. It was quite barren, this moon.

He began to move by taking a couple steps, before stumbling forth as it rumbled. "That...that was something" Mykes murmured to himself as the ground shook beneath him.

She took the words to basically mean 'take anything that you can carry back with you', her face wearing a coy smile as they started their decent towards the ruins below. It was certainly bigger then she expected, nothing on the size of a super star destroyer, but for a ship made during the clone was were recourse and money were not as abundant such a big ship was certainly impressive.

Her boots touched the ground, not real sound coming from the impact, space was certainly a strange thing, not matter how many times you set foot in it, her eyes and head scanning the massive metal hulk. She was briefly distracted from the sight as [member="Yuroic Xeraic"] began talking about the late general in charge of the ship before it's demised.

"Well some rumors say he was being mind controlled by the suit, or that he was lied to and convinced to kill the Jedi, I mean what happened to him to wind up as a cyborg anyway"? Probably some massive injury like her older sister had suffered forcing such a conversion, perhaps he had fought Jedi before and they made him like that, or something else had happened, no one would really ever know. "Anyways, you guys don't mind if I have a look around? maybe try and see if the bridges memory cores are still intact".

Her little search had to be postponed as tremors started to make the ground shake, Sukai looking towards [member="Mykes Taff"] with a confused face, "did you do something"?

Dead Moon of Antar

As soon as there was a lull in the quakes, they started back up again. The ground began to tremble once more, increasing to the point where one would surely need help just to stand. The dry, rocky surface beneath them also began to audibly crack and splinter – one might feel as though the entire planet could tear itself apart. Something else could be heard deep in the planet as well: not the ground, but something else – a low roar, as if from sort of animal…

No more than one hundred meters away from the intrepid explorers, a massive exogorth broke through the surface, its roar now completely audible through what little atmosphere there might have been. It was a terrible, horrific sight, with a size likely larger than the ship that had once crashed into this very same moon hundreds of years ago. The worm-like creature writhed and opened its jaws, a set of large, dull teeth showing through.

While slow, it began to turn its attention to the small beings that were standing on top of its home.

Objective 2: Investigate... Ah... Run...

The ground rumbled once more, the quakes getting more intense as he looked around. "This definitely isn't some natural occuring earthquakes." He commented to Sabine as he looked at scans showing where the epicenter was of these quakes. As they got progressive worse, Yuroic fell before lifting himself up. It was getting too intense for the equipment. Yuroic had a bad feeling about what was going to happen, it was definitely not some scavenging team causing these either. When the cracks in the surface started to appear, Yuroic headed back towards the ship. "Folks! Time to leave things are too dangerous for us to keep this exploration up!" Things were not as calm and breezy as he wanted.

Then erupting through the ground, Yuroic stared at the giant exogorth. The thing was massive compared to them and it did not look happy to see them. "So guys! We are definitely leaving now! Figured out the cause, need to leave before it eats us!" He shouted to the others as he looked back to where their ship was, praying that it wasn't damaged during the earthquakes. He took a step back, while he normally try to use Beast Control on creatures, Yuroic just wasn't sure where to start with this giant space worm. Things gotten interesting a much mlre dangerous way for them.

Sabine was pleased when the equipment was up and running. She watched as the flow of data appeared on her pad, and she began to type in her own notes and observations for later on. The shadow of the wreckage loomed in the distance, and she let her feet take her in that direction, but only for a step or two. After all, she knew that it would b bad to stray too far from the others.

But, suddenly... the rumbling returned.

The ground beneath their feet was unstable, Sabine herself stumbled and was eventually knocked to her hands and knees. Frantic eyes shifted to her data pad, which was now on the ground. The readings were off the chart... and then they stopped completely. She glanced over to Yuroic, he was likely quite right. This couldn't be a natural occurrence.

And the call was made, it was too dangerous to stay. As unfortunate as it was to leave so soon. Then, things became all the more urgent...

“Oh golly!” Sabine gasped at the sight of the worm breaking through the surface of the moon.

No, no... this was not good, not good at all! With a swift nod, she agreed with her fellow Knight's assessment of the situation – they would need to run for it. While slow, the worm's massive form was large enough to swallow their transport whole.

“Okay, let's go... yes, let's go!” She hollered, picking herself up off the ground and starting to run.

The Antarian Rangers tended to the wounded and helped them square their supplies away. The initial panic of the crash began to wear off, and with the help of the Antarian Rangers, it seemed more feasible that they could survive until either someone came to rescue them, or even make the hike to the rendezvous point. Although, once the U-wing that dropped them off wouldn’t check in, they would hopefully send a transport to come looking for them…

And send one they did. Before long, another, larger transport could be heard overhead, and after a low-flyover, located them. It began to settle down in the cleared wake of the crashed U-wing, and a small rescue team of SJO Rangers filed out. Soon, all of the wounded and supplies would be loaded into the larger transport.

As the last things were being loaded up, Cassius looked to the team of original Antarian Rangers that had lent them a hand. “If you guys need a lift, we can take you guys anywhere…” his voice trailed off, as he could already see Captain Ryl shaking his head.

“We came out here for our hike, and we’re gonna just finish it,” he said, respectfully declining the offer. Cassius nodded in agreement, and the two shared a firm handshake. After saying good-bye to the rest of them, Cassius turned and headed for the transport.

Mykes managed to keep his balance for now once the rumblings were done. It felt off, all of it. Irregular. He looked to Yumi as she asked a question to him, and he looked confused, mildly confused. "Uh, only almost tripped. That rumbling threw me off. Almost lost all my tools, and all that" he answered to her, looking down at his prosthetic leg. It looked okay, nothing seemed to be out of place with it or broken from almost tripping.

More quakes came around just after he checked it over. Mykes looked to the others. He was late to seeing the cracks, not till one of the others, Yuroic, pointed them out as the ground burst open, throwing him to his back. Mykes Taff knew that creature all too well, from a trip he once took back in his younger days of jumping ship to ship. "Oh, I hate those things!" He was picking himself up, and gathering his spilled out tools before trying to scurry away back to their transport.

She would have given a reply to [member="Mykes Taff"] as he made mention to his leg but was more focused on the massive space worm bursting forth from the ground, sending rock metal and other not so nice object flying all over the place. "I have a feeling someone is gonna blame me for this", she stated falling back with the others as the beast thrashed around. She had made mention to 'fighting something' before the group made planet fall, guess karma had decided to catch up faster then usual.

Keeping her saber as the ready Sukia started to pace back along with the others, though making sure that the non combatants were behind in case the thing decided for attack. Not that it needed to the mere thrashing for it's body already putting the entire group in danger, herself having to duck and wave a few time as projectile were flung in random directions. Keeping with the falling back she briefly turned around towards Yuroic "Better call the ships com device and tell him to g-".

Sukai's stance never finished as she was suddenly hit by a metal beam from the ship wreak, sending the Jedi into a tumble, the jagged ends puncturing her suit before coming to a rest a few meters away, dazing her, the world spinning around.

Valkren was somewhat shocked that they gave up so easily, usually those willing to take hostages had more 'loyalty to the cause' than others. This gave the commander the idea that not all on board were so gung-ho with killing for a few extra credits. Nonetheless, they'd still have to secure the entirety of the ship the assure that there were no loyalists that would spring an unsuspecting attack on the rangers.

The commander moved cautiously towards the bridge with Tyrell and Celiana, entering in first with his own weapon raised, letting the others file in behind him.

"Antarian Rangers! No one move!"

The sweep would be quick, the commander doing his part to move by each of the bridge crew and attempt to secure any weapon they had on their persons, before moving onto the next one carefully. There were a good many crew members, and with only three of them it would take a moment for them to secure the bridge.

He only hoped nobody would try to be a hero for the cause.

Back in the bay, Lieutenant Harris had led Clark and Lowder to the entrance, weapons raised the same as they made their insertion. The standstill amongst the hostages was slightly more intense, with some of the mining guild's members more hesitant to just 'lay down there weapons.' After a good moment of yelling from both sides, Specialist Lowder delivered a stun bolt to the chest of one of the gung-ho loyalists. The noise the now-unconscious man made as the round hit him was enough for the rest to drop their weapons and fall to their knees. Harris went to activate his communicator while Lowder and Clark began to circle the miners, 'herding' them with their rifles raised to keep them all in sight.

"This is Lieutenant Harris onboard the Ambition, hostages are secure. Don't look too banged up either'..Going to need a transport off this boat."

As they ran, Sabine turned a quick glance over her shoulder... just in time to see Sukai hit the metal beam protruding from the tangled crash site. It almost seemed to happen in slow motion. She gasped, skidded to a halt and made a swift bolt towards her fallen companion.

“Oh gosh,” She said, “Not good! This is...”

She didn't finish her sentence, either. Thinking quickly, she pulled open a small pocket on her belt and retrieved an emergency patch. Hand shaking slightly, she peeled it and slapped it against the open tear in Sukai's suit. Sabine kept her palm there for a moment, pressing firmly to ensure that it adhered securely. She gave the other young woman a brief looking over... but unfortunately, their present situation kept her from being able to make a detailed assessment. If Sukai was injured, they would need to wait to treat her until they were safely aboard.

“C'mon,” She said in a soft, but urgent tone. “We have to get back to the ship.”

Taking Sukai's arm, she wrapped it over her shoulder and used her other arm to hook around the injured girl's waist. Ok, they could do this. Sabine could see their ship, they just needed to get there... and get to safety.

Somehow they had survived the crash. Well, most of them. All the wounded had been loaded onto the transport, including Kat who had been crying with her broken legs. Mariya gave her a comforting hug to assure that things would be alright. The engineer had not suffered any injury, but the broken robotic legs meant she was feeling the pain from her loss of movement. In medical terms, they called it phantom pain, pain that continued to be felt by a patient when limbs were absent.

"We will get you up and walking soon when we get back to the base. There should be an astromech droid or two which could handle repairs."

Mariya looked around to make sure the rest were fine, noticing that someone had placed Asaraa in a resting position and iced her chest area which was the correct treatment for fractured ribs.

"Let's get going then."

She hollered to the pilot in front of the cockpit and the transport lifted off, continuing their journey out to the wilderness. For now, the mission was still on unless someone decided to cancel the exercise. Mariya was reminded of her military days as she stared out of the window, where missions would be fought and completed against all odds.

So far, so good. They didn't meet any resistance in the corridors leading up to the bridge. For a faction that were capable of taking hostages and even threaten to kill them if their demands were not met, it was almost too calm. It was crucial not to let your guard down as the three of them moved towards the bridge, systematicly and with high discipline securing every corner and junction they must have passed to get to it.

Valkren made a decisive enterance, announcing their presence. Tyrell kept the ''Famos'' in a tight ready position against his shoulder, to take aim at what ever would not get the picture that this little operation of theirs would cease, right here and right now. The crew seemed to have given up, all stood up but didn't say much. As the commander begun a quick search of every individual, he kept his back and the surroundings clear. The mere sight of their pitch black armors and expressionless helmets, staring them down, must have been intimidating for the agitators.

Yuroic hailed the pilot to get ready to lift off quickly. Sprinting, Yuroic cursed the environmental suit for making the running more difficult and slower than he would have liked. When close to the transport which they arrived on, Yuroic leapt forward and landed inside the ship. He looked outside and noticed that Sky'ito had been harmed, making note to check her injury when they were safely away. Yuroic counted to make sure that everyone got on board once the pilot called that they were ready for takeoff.

"Right, is everyone on board? Because we need to go now!" Yuroic stated firmly as the ground was becoming unsteady for the ship. He moved around trying to balance himself to stop from falling but looked around and cursed. This was definitely what he was hoping to achieve on today's excursion with his Padawan. He just hoped that they could go. "Sky, let me take a look at that injury once we are away, I will heal it for you."

Thankfully, their ship fired up at Yuroic's call. Sabine blew out steady breaths as she ran, hauling Sukai along at her side. Once they got up the ramp, she wasted no time in getting the injured to the infirmary. As Yuroic stepped up to take a look at the injury, Sabine retreated. It would probably be best for someone she knew to work on force healing.

She gave them a last glance before stepping out.

Moving to a view port, she watched as the ship lifted off the ground. She heaved a sigh, thankful to see the worm's massive form growing smaller and smaller. Sabine sank into a seat and took a moment to catch her breath. Goodness, she hadn't expected this for her first outing with the Silvers. But, at least it did make for a very good story – her father would be interested, no doubt.

They really were fortunate that they'd been able to escape with minimal casualties. Looking around, she couldn't help but feel lucky.

Mykes Taff got onboard as quickly as he could, scrambling on board. Almost losing his footing as he climbed aboard as his prosthetic leg got caught on the ramp. He managed to get on, taking a seat. Then, turned outside as others were rushing in. He was breathing shakily with a wide eyed look...then started to laugh under his breath. "That...that was too close" he said aloud, glancing around at the others. They had almost become worm chow.

"Well, we know what was causing the earthquakes now, so," he paused, looking to the one who had been injured. "So, mission complete?"

Was it painful? yes, she left the sharp metal piece into her flesh, the hot trickle of blood flowing from the open wound as she lay on the floor for a few seconds. Still she had experienced worse wounds in the past Sukai not yelling or making any major show of pain, just gritting her teeth as [member="Sabine Galen"] came to hastily repair the ruptured suit and hoist her up as the group continued their hobbling dash back to the ship. In the distance the giant worm continued to thrashing around as the ship came to rest, everyone bolting in ASAP.

Everything was still a blur for her upon getting into the ship, feeling the motion as the young Jedi handed her to [member="Yuroic Xeraic"] as he talked about healing. Healing... uh oh that could be quite problematic. She had not been expecting any combat on the dead moon and as such had left her amulet behind, her vampirc regeneration already starting to heal the laceration on her abdomen. If her suit was taken off the blood could be seen, but the wound, it was already started to slowly close up.

There was a distinct possibility she'd have to divulge her family secret.
