  • GENERAL INFORMATION

Quen'dara Kael, more commonly addressed simply as Dara, is a rough and tumble being far from home and all the happier for it.

Quen’dara looks like someone who has torn out every softness life tried to leave in her. Every item on her body is practical first, aesthetic being an afterthought, yet the cohesive palette of gunmetal, faded mahogany, and black linen gives her a grim, gunslinger elegance that’s impossible to ignore.

The galaxy, as she claims, is her stomping ground whenever asked about her home world having long ago embraced the wild nature of the Outer Rim in her exile.

  • HISTORY

Quen'dara Kael was born into Clan Kael. Her family was known for their role as enforcers of Kiffar justice. But justice, she learned early, is a matter of perspective.

Her parents died in the crossfire of a feud between rival Kiffar clans when she was 12. Kiffu's tribal elders dismissed the incident as “collateral fate.” That same night of the ruling, she began to plan her revenge rather than believe that the elders had truly ruled on the matter in any way that made sense. The only belief that made sense was the overall survival of the clan having been the guiding hand for the decision. A decision that burned in her heart like an ember demanding to be quenched.

For 2 long years she practiced, planned, watched, and prepared for the payment she was due.

Repayment for a silent home. The loss of her teachers. For the weight of a great burden as she moved through life supported but always isolated. Growing colder with each day as she watched others return home to their families while she had only the still air to greet. Shortly after her 15th birthday, she acted on her plans. Dain Hark her target as she hunted him throughout the day. Using the skills taught by her late parents and the elders around her. Stalking his paths, watching his patterns and waiting until the moment was right.

Taking his life without ceremony or trial as vindication filled her for her actions.

Brought before the clan elders, where her aunt and grandmother delivered her sentence of exile without hesitation. Her hand shaking with the pottery she used to mar the clan's mark upon her skin. Stealing a speeder that night before stowing away on a freighter away from Kiffu. Her life beyond that day is a blur of movement and survival. Faces never stayed for long as the years began to tick by. By 16, she was scavenging and smuggling on Ord Mantell. Following the best leads for scrap and hiding contraband in those spots she hollowed out to make a quick credit.

Payment drop offs became more reliable when she removed one of her competitors from sniffing around her work.

The act of claiming territory garnering the attention of groups that participated in shadier work. Slowly throwing her more chances until at 18, she’d killed her first bounty target on Nar Shaddaa. A slaver captain wanted by multiple groups. Not out of morality, but for the payout.

A satisfaction filled her as the account numbers began to pile up in hefty sums. Taking gear from those she didn't spare before stripping the living of prized possessions that would be taken regardless.

She had carved out a reputation for her brutal efficiency under the name “The Cord”, a reference to how she binds and drags in her targets—dead or alive. To this day she largely keeps to herself, rarely aligning permanently with any faction, though she’s done jobs for anyone with the credits to pay for a job. Gritting her teeth working with larger groups towards the goal of a larger payout.

Even if she has to split it with others.

  • APPEARANCE

Rangy, with the elongated V‑taper torso and lithe muscle density of someone that has lived on an ocean world. When she stands still her outline is sharp‑edged and compact, but in motion she moves with a predator’s economy.

Her skin is deep olive‑bronze that lacks shine due to being weather‑toughened by years on sun‑blasted worlds. A fine dusting of faint freckles across her nose and upper cheekbones; a handful of silvery, healed micro‑scars pepper elbows, collarbone, and outer thighs as souvenirs of shrapnel and vibro‑blade nicks.

Her altered Kiffar clan‑mark(qukuuf) turned rebellion‑scar: a matte‑black, jagged symbol that starts at her left eye, carving down her cheek, dipping across the jawline, and continuing along the side of her neck before ending just below the collarbone. The lower third is marred where she reopened it with a shard of armor during her exile—leaving a subtle ridge the color of obsidian glass.

Her eyes are a piercing bronze with irises speckled like rusted gold. Both eyes hold a permanent, heavy‑lidded scorn that makes people check their footing. Her nose has a straight, narrow bridge; a clean break repaired without bacta leaving the faintest ridge. Her angular jaw is softened only by a half‑moon cleft in her chin. When she smiles, a canine on the right side can be seen capped with a durasteel inlay (tactical dental reinforcement after a bar‑fight head‑butt gone wrong).

Her hair is a coal‑black, coarse‑textured, and glossy when cleaned, but is most often dust‑dulled. She parts it left‑of‑center and braids it into a thick, chunky whip braid that hangs to mid‑back, bound with a dull brass cuff etched in old clan runes. Fly-aways frame her temples like cracked threads under stress.

Smells faintly of ozonic blaster residue, nerf‑hide oil, and starship engine coolant. Footfalls register as a muted double‑tap, heel then ball despite the heavy boots, as a trademark of the years spent stalking steel grates and cargo bays.

  • PERSONALITY

Neutral leaning toward self-interest. She has no qualms about tracking down fugitives, debtors, or political dissidents so as long as she isn’t being lied to. What she hates is being manipulated. The quickest way to make an enemy of her is to twist the purpose of her employment. Or refuse to pay her. Proper work demands proper compensation, and failure to produce the payment ends with her turning her skills on the one who hired her.

She secretly keeps holos of every target she’s captured alive and will never admit why. Her personal quarters aboard her ship are lined with small holo-frames. Maybe guilt. Maybe a twisted kind of tribute.

    STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES

Neutral: Having no flag to bear, Dara is an objective party to almost every conflict around her.
Clinical: Detachment and compartmentalization have helped her keep moving through the galaxy. Issues are obstacles and they can be pushed past.
Calculating, not Sadistic: Violence is not her vice. Simply a device to conduct business in, at least to her experience, the quickest way.

Authority: Strong resentment toward overarching hierarchical systems (clans, empires, Jedi orders) and often found messing with their business in some sort of retribution she otherwise cannot attain.
Neutrality: A strong driving force for her actions is her own personal interest. People and their issues are of no great interest to her.
Detachment: Refuses to form lasting personal connections. Leaves before people get too close as a trauma response she refuses to address.
