    • Plasmatic and Energy Weapons: High
    • Kinetic Weapons: Low

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Through precise alchemical alterations to its purpose-grown synthetic structure and the infusion of layers of complex sorceries Soulstones are transformed into vessels capable of successfully containing one of the galaxy's most mysterious "variables", namely the "soul". The binding of such an entity is, of course, a complex matter best undertaken by highly capable Sorcerers and even then there is always a chance something will go wrong, whether because of minute fractures in the crystals or the spirit in question being particularly resolute.
  • Once a soul, spirit, demon, or [insert spiritual or religious designation of your choice] has been imprisoned within a Soulstone, that Soulstone is typically used as part of a greater whole, whether another artefact, a new body for the soul, or as part of some ritual or another. While it is possible to draw from a Soulstone as is, doing so would require a significant aptitude for the sorceries and (usually) a cooperative spirit.
STRENGTHS
  • Resilient: Soulstones are fairly resilient, being able to survive most temperatures, high pressures, and even brief contact with lightsabers!
  • Soulbinder: Grown to serve as containers for the souls of the dead, Soulstones are able to house the essence of the recently slain, the wandering spirits of long-dead Jedi and Sith, and even demons and stranger things yet.
  • Soulsabre: Soulstones can be used as lightsaber crystals - when empty, they provide no particular benefit, but a filled crystal takes on the properties of the soul within, which can manifest as a more potent blade, surges of power, the ability to draw on the being within's skills and expertise, and so on. (NB! Should be balanced in a separate submission.)
WEAKNESSES
  • Smashable: Like most products of Sith Alchemy, Soulstones can be destroyed and the spirits trapped within freed through the cleansing power of the Light - no such obscure methods are needed, however, for smashing it against a hard surface a few times will work just as well.
  • Size Matters: Most Soulstones are formed to house one soul and one soul only - those rare ones designed to hold several, or for that matter to contain an especially troublesome soul or spirit, range from barely too large to fit in a lightsaber to larger than the average human.
  • Mystery of Life: While they are said to capture the soul, it would be more accurate to say that Soulstones can be used to contain the Force Essence of a being - droids and the Force Dead are therefore either soulless or immune to this particular method of collection.
  • Sorcerous Prowess: Soulstones are able to hold the spirits of the dead, but just anyone cannot make use of them, for the binding itself falls to the Sorcerer; it is they who must overcome their foes and it is they who must know the arcane techniques required to ensnare their essence.
  • Resistance is "Futile": While unassisted escape would be almost impossible, the spirits contained without such a vessel are not necessarily powerless; the more a Sorcerer draws on the bound, the more opportunities they have to exert their own influence, ranging from subtle telepathic suggestions to openly rebelling at the worst possible time.
DESCRIPTION
While primarily focused on matters of the body, Adrian Vandiir was no stranger to the deeper philosophical questions - Who are we? Why are we here? What is death? Is it possible to use the spirits of the dead as fuel for esoteric new creations?

Motivated by such questions and a compulsive desire to know everything, Vandiir had long sought the stranger things; with his promotion to Triumvir of Power, the freshly-appointed Lord quickly began to pursue more complex avenues in full, dedicating substantial resources to the study of the twin mysteries of Life and Death.

The Prosperian Soulstones, as they would come to be known, is the first major success of the aptly named Project Tartarus, the crystals from which they are created being, quite literally, grown in specially constructed receptacles nurtured by locations strong in the Dark Side, with nexuses such as the
Lost City of Kaas (where the first were created, submerged within the waters of the lake at its heart) being the optimal choice.

These crystals are only a starting point, however, for complex and time-consuming alchemical procedures and sorcerous rituals must be conducted before they are finally able to serve their intended purpose, with even the slightest mistake during this process liable to result in a flawed Soulstone.

NB! This goes without saying, but you can't steal people's soul without their OOC permission.
Changelog:
26/10/2020:
  • Summary: Broaden affiliation, aesthetics, and minor nitpicking.
  • Changes:
    • Added the "Primyn" and "Necromancy" tags.
    • Slight change to phrasing of Intent.
    • Manufacturer changed to include the Primyn Group.
    • Affiliation changed from "Darth Prospero | The Sith Order" to "The Sith Order | Closed-Market".
    • Ratings coloured.
    • Corrected typo in Special Features.
    • Size Matters Weakness revised significantly - no longer prohibits Soulstones capable of holding more than one soul but stipulates that these range from too large for a lightsaber to larger than the average human. Added fluff allows for unusually large Soulstones meant to hold powerful demons and such nonsense - fun!
    • "first major creation of the aptly named Project Tartarus" -> first major success of the aptly named Project Tartarus".

Some would argue that stealing souls is "immoral" or "repugnable" - I would reply that I am, in fact, saving the poor fools from "becoming one with the Force", i.e. losing one's individuality. Anyway, this is ready to be moved to Technology Creation for review.

Submission Name: Prosperian Soulstones
Link to Submission: https://www.starwarsrp.net/threads/prosperian-soulstone-the-sith-order.136734/
Reason for Pre-Factory Request: Alter affiliation to include "Closed-Market" to allow for small-scale use by non-Sith Order affiliated individuals, pretty it up a bit, and maybe make a few minor changes, primarily as pertains to fluff.

Moved to pre-factory per OP request.

Please remember to include a list of changes made when you tag a member of factory staff to move the submission back to live judgement.
