ADVANCED FEATURES

STRENGTHS
  • AR-0B Damage Reduction Armor Component - A constant ablative current course through the hull-plating of the Munificent-class Star Frigate; utilized as a means to assist in the reduction of damage to the vessel's armor. This ensures longevity and provides improved endurance to the vessel's hull-plating, lengthening times between repairs and retrofits at dedicated shipyards or repair facilities.
  • GalaxyGuard Mk VII - Providing additional endurance and range to the vessel's Deflector Shields, this component increases the duration in which the shields are operable as well as provides additional protective capabilities. Up to three such devices can be stacked, with their cumulative effects further enhancing the endurance and protective capabilities of the Deflector Shields.
  • Reinforced Structural Design - Unlike its predecessor - which had a somewhat skeletal or open design - the Munificent-class has a more uniformed and reinforced design; with key sectors having been greatly reinforced to provide additional defensive capabilities over its predecessor. This ensures that the vessel can withstand an engagement for a longer duration than those previously vessels of the Munificent design.
  • Gunboat Diplomacy - Following an older adage of "Speak softly and carry a big stick", the Munificent-class is much more heavily armed than some of its predecessors, with a focus on displaying naval power. This is intended to act both as a potential deterrent, as well as provide the vessel with the ample means to withstand and remain in a prolonged engagement.
  • Automation - Though not as heavily automated as the Recusant-class or similar vessels, the Munificent-class has a handful of secondary systems which are controlled by integrated droid brains. This ensures that the maintenance and general operation of these systems do not burden the small organic crew of the vessel.
  • Military Carrier - Capable of carrying a sizeable - albeit smaller - force of deactivated battle droids, their accompanying materials, and vehicles, as well as a contingent of organic military forces. Its Support Craft is dedicated to ferrying these forces for deployment planetside, for either an attack or to bolster forces already present.

WEAKNESSES
  • Low Speed - Its primary strengths are focused more on the vessel's armaments, and as such, the Munificent-class is significantly slower than some of its predecessors as well as similar Cruisers, Frigates, and smaller vessels. This forces the commanders of these vessels to carefully contemplate their movement and maneuvering, least they be outflanked by vessels whose design is more focused on speed and maneuverability than the Munificent-class.
  • Dedicated Carrier - Though capable of fielding a small complement of Starfighters and Support craft, it is still more reliant on dedicated carriers or additional support vessels to provide the needed support to stand against dedicated starfighter and bomber screens. And though it maintains a more reinforced structural design, its appearance is still somewhat reminiscent of the older Munificent-class vessels - providing small spaces for skilled starfighters to slip into and cause havoc.
  • Forward Command Element - A design element carried over from the original Munificent-class and its successor designs, the command element - or bridge - of the vessel is placed to the fore of the vessel; located directly above its three prow cannons. Though this location provides an ample field of view surrounding the vessel, it also leaves the bridge highly vulnerable as well as makes for an ample target for those daring enemy Starfighter or Bomber Pilots.
  • Gunboat Diplomacy - The space required to provide additional room for the Munificent-class weapons and their systems depleted the capabilities that many of its predecessors had. As such, the vessel carries a significantly smaller military force than the original Munificient-class that was fielded during the Clone Wars. Likewise, the additional weaponry has also caused a significant drop in the vessel's overall speed.
  • Automation - Though maintaining significantly fewer automated systems than the Recusant-class, the Munificent-class is still just as vulnerable to having those systems disabled or potentially destroyed by sustained damage from Ion-based weaponry. In such a case, this would place an additional burden on the small skeleton crew that operates the vessel.
  • Phylon Q7 Heavy Tractor Beams - Equipped with a series of powerful Phylon Q7 Heavy Tractor Beam Projectors, which are more than capable of holding smaller vessels in place, their utilization against larger ships can prove problematic to the point of the Munificent-class being dragged through space, causing the projectors to become damaged or inoperable, or in the most catastrophic event, tear the vessel apart.

DESCRIPTION
An updated variant of the older Munificent Cruiser that is often utilized by the Confederacy of Independent Systems and its member worlds, it sits comfortably in the designation of a Cruiser - albeit more on the heavy side given its complement of weaponry. Larger than the original Municifent-class that was fielded during the height of the Clone Wars - though only slightly - the Munificent-class Star Frigate maintains a larger array of armaments and is equipped with the more powerful Agrocite Cannons; with three such heavy variants serving as its primary prow based weapon array. Though capable of carrying a small complement of Starfighters, it is not a dedicated carrier, and as such, requires such a vessel or additional support vessels to assist in overcoming Starfighter screens or Starfighter swarms. Equipped with integrated droid brains, its automated capabilities are far less than those of the Recusant-class; however, the potential of these systems being disabled or damaged by Ion-based weaponry would still place an additional burden on the crew operating the vessel.

Focused on the old adage of "Speak softly and carry a big stick", the Munificent-class focuses predominately on a heavier armament and array of weaponry at the cost of speed and some maneuverability - as well as cargo space and hangar capacity. Its primary weapons - as mentioned - are three Prow Longrange Heavy Agrocite Cannons, often utilized in long-range engagements or as part of an opening volley to signal the start of the engagement. These weapons sit at the forefront of the vessel, with the command element positioned just above; and though it provides a commanding field of view around the vessel, this leaves the command element highly vulnerable - a design that was carried over from predecessor designs. Additional changes to the original design are reflected in the Munificent-class having a heavily reinforced design, doing away with the more skeletal appearance of predecessor's vessels in the Munificent series - though there is still room for skilled or daring starfighter pilots to slip into these areas; potentially causing havoc in the process.

These drawbacks are often attempted to be mediated by some of the additional strengths of the vessel - specifically seen in the utilization of the AR-0B Damage Reduction Armor Component and its paring with the GalaxyGuard Mk VII system - both of which are utilized to increase the longevity and endurance of the vessel's hull-plating and shielding. Its capability of carrying and deploying a sizeable military force for planetside operations also increases the effectiveness of the vessel - though its complement is vastly smaller than predecessor variants - it is still more than capable of deploying a sizeable force to reinforce, hold, or overwhelm a planetside objective.

With strengths and weaknesses that complement one another - and making the vessel an effective force to be paired with the larger Recusant-class Light Destroyer, the Munificent-class Star Frigate is more than a suitable replacement or augmentation to the older Munificent Cruiser operated by the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
