STRENGTHS
  • Bullet Time - Possessing a fast mind to keep up with the demands of space combat and other ultra-fast battle conditions, the Neuromesh fibers used to construct the Pilot’s cognition and processing systems allow superluminal reaction times. While the Pilot lacks the raw power and slicing capabilities of the Fixer, her mind is just as fast and is capable of running thousands of separate processes at once. In addition, when linked with a vehicle or starship, she can interface with its sensors and scanners as if they were part of her own chassis.
  • Sophont Gynoid - Like her sisters, the Pilot is sapient and self-aware, capable of feeling a full range of emotions and acquiring additional knowledge with time and experience.
  • Universal Interface - Pilot Nuetralizers can establish a direct interface with virtually any modern technology, ranging from missiles to starships, sensors, vehicles, computers, and yet more. This gives the Pilot a precise and intimate degree of control over these systems, making her far more technologically agile and responsive than unenhanced organics.
  • Regeneration - The Pilot Nuetralizer has a powerful healing factor, making her difficult to outright kill. Incapacitation generally demands the destruction of more than half of her brain, at which point she will enter a dormant state to facilitate regeneration. However, the Pilot can regenerate on her own so long as at least a third of her brain and ~20% of her body remains intact, typically over a period of week for the most grievous injuries such as limb loss or destruction of a vital organ, with healing times scaling down as injury severity decreases. In addition, under normal conditions, she is incapable of feeling pain.
  • Aces of Past and Present - The Pilot Nuetralizer is programmed to be a talented pilot, with her programming drawing from thousands of exabytes worth of combat footage, manuals, and other materials dating back to the Pre-Republic era, covering everything from ancient piston engine fighters from eras before space travel, to tank and walker tactics, speeder bike tactics, air and space combat maneuvers, capital ship engagements, and yet more. While most Pilot Nuetralizers tend to specialize in one area, whether as speeder bike or swoop jockeys, landspeeder pilots, starship gunners, capital ship pilots, walker pilots, tank pilots or gunners, or starfighter pilots, they have the ability to carry out a wide range of piloting and crew roles in a variety of craft.
  • The Forces of Magic and Nature - The Pilot Nuetralizer is engineered to resist G-Forces. This allows her to withstand maneuvers which would likely kill an unprotected organic pilot. She is also very resistant to many applications of the Force, especially those which intrude upon the mind.
WEAKNESSES
  • Alpha Red - Alpha Red toxin can disable or kill the Pilot, likely causing extreme bleeding, liquefaction, and a host of other deleterious effects.
  • Vong Tissue - The Pilot is allergic to Baffor tree pollen, due to the fact that her chassis is constructed of Vong Biot tissue, much like the crab armor worn by the Yuuzhan Vong. Naturally, exposure to this substance can be fatal or deadly to various degrees, depending on the level of exposure.
  • Unmasked - Unmaskers and their derivations can disable the Pilot by triggering a reaction that causes her chassis to swell up in response, damaging her organs and making her effectively immobile, for a time.
  • Not Human - A medical scan will easily pick up the Pilot’s nature, outing her as a Bio-Organic HRD, due to her blue blood and the fact that her internal organs are completely foreign compared to typical human or near-human anatomy. Furthermore, like all Bio-Organic Nuetralizers, the Pilot often has a doll-like appearance and almost always has perfect facial symmetry. Finally, her movements are eerily surgical and balletic, to the point of being uncanny.
  • Soft Skin - The Pilot’s flesh is negligibly more resistant to lightsabers, slugthrowers, sonic weapons, acids, and energy weapons as compared to the flesh of an unaugmented human. That is to say that more often than not, it won’t make a difference.
  • Trojan Horse - The Pilot's universal interfacing systems represent an exploitable vulnerability. Compromising the networks of the craft, vehicle, or technology the Pilot is connected to could give a slicer an easy route to introduce a virus into the Pilot's systems, which might not be easily cleared out. In theory, a creative slicer could use this to compromise her systems.
  • Matter Under Mind - While the Pilot's mind is extremely fast, her ability to react to external stimuli is limited by the speed of her physical chassis. That is to say that while she might be capable of dodging an arrow or a blaster bolt, a bullet—unless fired from an extremely long range—will likely be too fast for her to evade. In addition, her physical chassis alone limits her to the typical sensory systems. She might be capable of evading an incoming attack in theory, but her physical senses can fail to register an incoming attack, such as an arrow shot at her from behind. As previously mentioned, the benefits of her reaction time best manifest when she is linked to a vehicle, starship, or other piece of technology, where she can interface with its systems at a level that is far more intimate than what can be achieved by an unaugmented human.
DESCRIPTION
A new evolution of the Bio-Organic Nuetralizers designed by Laertia Io, the Model 1 Pilot Nuetralizer is optimized as a pilot and gunner, an unfilled role before its conception. Where previously House Io relied on General Purpose Nuetralizers and organic personnel as pilots and gunners, the Pilot Nuetralizer is designed specifically to fill both of these roles, especially in a combat capacity. To this end, the Pilot features a number of specialized systems. Of these, the most significant are direct interface systems which allow her to link with weapons, vehicles, and starships, targeting systems, various warfare and piloting databases, and flesh engineered to withstand a vacuum and extreme environments.

All in all, the Model 1 Pilot Nuetralizer is hoped to become a mainstay of House Io’s fleets, starfighter corps, and vehicle divisions—an answer to some of House Io’s manpower issues in the wake of the Battle of Tython.

Alright sorry for the wait. Lets begin shall we

Production: Mass-Produced

The production for something this powerful is going to need to be reduced drastically. The weaknesses are at best stock while the strengths make it look more as a powerhouse meant to be broken intentionally. This type of behavior has been warned about regarding these model of biots in the past and given most disposition encountering them in pvp scenarios. A cap on their production seems better then outright denial. The amount of power is has makes me want to suggest semi-unique but limited could be argued for with reduction of its strengths.

Programming Specifications
  • Hard Programmed for Absolute Loyalty to House Io and its Members - Special Algorithms and Routines Prevent the Pilot from betraying House Io, even at the Cost of Her Objectives
    • Special Directive - Do not Harm or Betray Laertia Io and Her Allies

IF someone chooses to make a character using this model of droid their actions can't be dictated. It would be up to them, this is just like having random kill switches on equipment. Not allowed.

Components Present if Not Mentioned

No, if it is in the droid it needs to be mentioned. There isn't going to be a vague way to add whatever you want under "it wasn't important to mention but is present.

Regeneration - The Pilot Nuetralizer is highly-regenerative, making her difficult to outright kill. Incapacitation generally demands the destruction of more than half of her brain, at which point she will enter a dormant state to facilitate regeneration. However, the Pilot can regenerate on her own so long as at least a quarter of her brain and ~15% of her body remains intact, typically over a period of eight hours or less, depending on the severity of her injuries. In theory, a Pilot cut in half lengthwise can grow into two Pilots with the same memories. Under normal conditions, she is incapable of feeling pain. Finally, if exposed to gamma radiation, a chunk of her body the size of an arm or a leg can grow into another Pilot Nuetralizer.

First: The timetable for regeneration is far to fast and will need to be altered.

Second: No cutting them in half will not be allowed to grow another.

Third: As the writer determines damage taken these can be practically immortal with the amount of damage they can naturally taken. No character or droid can be immortal per the rules.

Fourth: No much like the second part exposing chunks of them to radiation will not be allowed to grow another.

Overall this is something that no one wants to deal with because current interactions have been these get thrown zap brannigan style to overwhelm and win rather then tell a story. A powerful droid is fine but the stronger it is and the more capable the less production it should have. The more packed with components the heavier it should be but these more like normal. Add to that they can just learn new things usually on the fly, repair themselves with minimal problem quickly. They are not something I would want to let in a thread, So the edits aside from the possible increase to production are not recommended, they are not negotiable. Let me know when they are all done.

If I may ask before I begin to make edits, what is so "powerful" about this biot model in particular that is of concern to you as a factory judge? What would need to be removed or altered in order to keep this at a mass-production level?

I'd also like to politely request that this submission be judged on its own merits, not on the merits of anything else, please. Thank you.

Thank you for your patience, please find my review below.

Permissions

Do you have permission to use Sword Herald Special Purpose Industries as a manufacturer?

Neuromesh

Why do you have two versions of Neuromesh? They seem to be neural material using forms of radiation other than electrical to transmit energy along the neural pathways. Does the biot have two neural systems in place?

Armaments

Is the pistol part of the droid or perhaps stored in a holder like RoboCop? The armament field on a droid is meant for inbuilt weaponry, such as the blasters on a Droideka, not for weapons a droid might use in its hands, which could be anything.

Databases

Memory and Database Systems
  • Bio-Organic Warfare Database
    • Bio-Organic Psychological Warfare Database
    • Bio-Organic Piloting Database
    • Bio-Organic Gunnery Database
    • Bio-Organic Technical Database
    • Bio-Organic Battle Database
    • Bio-Organic Combat Database
Please include these as a strength, these databases allow a droid, or an HRD in this case to (according to the wookie) "learn at an extremely fast rate so that master generals, tacticians, and assassins were created after only a short install time." The ability to create master tacticians with a wide range of hardwired tactics to call from is a massive advantage for these droids.

Interfaces

How exactly does this work? Since they use bio-organic interfaces is this the standard extendable probe? Or does the droid interface in some other way?

Hardwired Programming

In your strengths, you claimed that the droid was Sapient and Self-aware, are you saying that they are sentient? I ask because you also refer to hard-wired programming which would belie their ability to be self-aware and sentient since they are limited by that programming.

Inertial Compensator

Engineered to Resist G-Forces - Bio-Organic Inertial Compensation System

How exactly does this work? An intertial compensator is a vehicular system, not a droid system, and as far as I am aware there are no canon examples of droids having inertial dampening systems built into them.

Bullet Time

Is the HRD's body able to keep up with the demands of reacting to the events seen by its processor? Even at peak human speed, it sounds like its ability to react is far in excess of what it's physically capable of achieving.

Regeneration

This level of regeneration is far far too powerful and will need to be reduced. Some regeneration is believable, healing a cut or a minor wound is well within canon, but regenerating the entire droid from just 15% of its body, or growing into two separate droids is just too much. It is more along the lines of a mutant power from Marvel than something in Star Wars and to me appears to be outside of the idea of star wars and I will need it to be reduced to reasonable levels before the submission can be approved. In the same way, having an entire droid grow out of an arm or leg is again not really in keeping with the feel of star wars.

Defences against the force

While I understand why you might break down the defences to the force in this way, this is not how the force works. The Force is the force, it can't be broken up like this, the direct attacks you speak of, force lightning, for example, is not an attack with the force but is rather a use of the force to generate electricity which is then used to attack you. Please adjust your ratings accordingly by creating just one resistance to the force which will include the mental attacks etc ass as one. Other forms of attack will be covered by their designated resistances.

Weaknesses

Reading through your weaknesses they appear to effectively state that the pilot HRD's body has much the same weaknesses as that of a normal human, instead of being broken up like this, please condense them down into one weakness to cover them all and include some weaknesses which relate to fighting against the droid in a piloting or personal combat scenario. As it currently exists you have some specialized weaknesses, such as the Alpha Red Toxin or Balfor Pollen, and some weaknesses which amount to the droid taking much the same damage as a normal human. However there is nothing mentioned about weaknesses of the droid when it comes to piloting or gunning, or a way that an opponent might be able to claw out an advantage.

Please read through the raised points and tag me back when you have made the changes or if you have any questions.

Permissions

Do you have permission to use Sword Herald Special Purpose Industries as a manufacturer?

I sent a DM to Laertia and I'll put it in when she answers. I'll tag you again when I've added it. Added.
Neuromesh

Why do you have two versions of Neuromesh? They seem to be neural material using forms of radiation other than electrical to transmit energy along the neural pathways. Does the biot have two neural systems in place?
I figured that the Pilot Nuetralizer uses both types for different functions. Kind of like how humans have different types of neurons.
Interfaces

How exactly does this work? Since they use bio-organic interfaces is this the standard extendable probe? Or does the droid interface in some other way?
I guess it's just a wireless thing. I was thinking about a probe or some kind of tentacle-like structure but it felt kind of hard to visualize that way and seemed kind of gross.

The rest should be addressed directly in the changes made to the submission. I tried to get everything, but if I missed something let me know.

This is a good start, thank you.

However, the regeneration ability of the HRD is still far too powerful.

Regeneration - The Pilot Nuetralizer is highly-regenerative, making her difficult to outright kill. Incapacitation generally demands the destruction of more than half of her brain, at which point she will enter a dormant state to facilitate regeneration. However, the Pilot can regenerate on her own so long as at least a third of her brain and ~20% of her body remains intact, typically over a period of eight hours or less, depending on the severity of her injuries. In addition, under normal conditions, she is incapable of feeling pain.

Increasing the amount of the droid which should remain does not fix the underlying issue there. regenerating their body is far too powerful. While the Axolotl is able to regrow limbs and the tissue of some organs it does this over a period of months not hours. It is also only growing one limb, not regenerating an entire body which contains an advanced computing system such as the Neuromesh and power source.

Do you have a canonical or real-world basis for this level of regeneration because I have been unable to find any and will need the regeneration ability to be scaled back significantly. Using the aforementioned Axolotl would be a good starting point.

Just copy pasted from Gen’Dai Wookiee page, detailing a process which occurs over the span of minutes, rather than hours.

“Gen'Dai could take extreme injuries and even complete dismemberment, and survive which gave them the reputation of being immortal. In fact, they could regrow lost limbs or other body parts in only a few minutes.”

There are also the Abyssin and maybe a few others.

Thank you for those references, they will come in helpful in the future.

The Gendai, however, don't really count since they lack "the vulnerable vital organs of most species, including hearts, and lungs" and their nervous system "was distributed throughout the body in the form of millions of nerve clusters". All quoted from the same wookie article, this does not apply to the HRD since it has distinct organs and a brain.

The Abyssin were capable of regeneration, but the article doesn't talk about how long it takes and does not touch on its capabilities.

My suggestion is that the HRD will be able to regenerate lost limbs and repair damage to internal organs, not regenerate them if destroyed but repair internal injuries. This seems reasonable and within the idea of Star Wars. An 8 hour timeframe is far too fast for a non-gendai to regenerate, but over the course of a week would be a better figure.

Regenerating its entire body from a fraction of its brain and body is however outside the idea of Star Wars to me, and I would need it removed.

Please let me know if this is acceptable.

Mellifluous Magenta Mellifluous Magenta

I can see the change you've made but as it currently stands it's very vague, any writer either using or writing against these HRDs would find it difficult to know what they're dealing with. Please can you provide some idea of the level of regeneration the HRD is capable of?
