+ Turtle + As a dedicated Anti-Capital Frigate, and Command vessel, the ship sports highly capable armor plating and shielding systems in a narrow profile.
+ The Sharp End + The weapons aboard this vessel are well capable of their proposed role as an Anti-Capital vessel and while facing an opponent, have a vast majority of the heavy weapons aboard on target for it's best combat capabilities presented.
+ Hold Still + Like the Bellicose Frigate, this vessel sports Pressor Tractor systems to hold equal or smaller vessels in place for whatever the need may be.

- Slow and Brickish - The ship lacks considerable speed in lieu of high offensive and defensive capabilities. And as an Anti-Capital capable vessel, leaves its flanks open to sly enemy commanders even with the upgraded engine systems.
- Forward Facing - In addition to being sluggish, most every weapon on this vessel is only capable of a 45° arc to the sides, not only limiting the amount of weapons able to present a sidelong target, but removing a number of available weapons to strike targets to the rear.
- Lacking Support - This variation of the Broadside Frigate lacks starfighter support, fielding a single support squadron rather than a dedicated starfighter group.

The original version of this vessel was pressed into service with the Eternal Empire. Revisiting the original schematics, the engineering team and design team updated and replaced modules to make it more appealing to a larger market.

While there was a noticeable drop in available weaponry, the vessel still finds itself highly capable as a front line brawler. Another noticeable adjustment came from the hangar space, removing space for a second squadron but leaving it available for a single craft to be docked in the former squadron hangar.

The entire vessel maxes out the VOId systems, and engaging the alternate engine modes is somewhat noticeable with this iteration.

A number of Light Turbolasers alongside Laser Point Defense Cannons dot the vessel, aiding in its defensive capabilities against both starfighters and Ordinance deployed by attacking vessels. And while capable of defending itself from Starfighters would find itself out of sorts with lack of support from starfighter screening vessels having to divert some combat capabilities to defense.

One noted advantage of this vessel is its capability to field soldiers and a limited number of ground vehicles. The caveat being the landing craft for troops are required to make their drops and return to ferry more troops.

A dedicated front line brawler focused around Anti-Capital engagements, the Broadside Frigate offers an affordable option to the systems independent of larger governing bodies.
