OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Age: 49
  • Force Sensitivity: Untrained Force Sensitive, Master
  • Species: Near-Human (Chalactan heritage)
  • Appearance: She is a breathtakingly beautiful woman even approaching middle age. Her skin is brown and she is described as having "spindly hands" with long thin fingers that peek out from the sleeves of her robes. Unusually for a Chaldean woman, her head is shaved, though she covers this baldness with a veil or headscarf. Her eyes are cloudy with blindness. She wears traditional Chaldean garb (very modest, covers the majority of the body and has little if any adornment) often in the colors white, blue, or pale yellow.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Persis Solusar
  • Loyalties: Chaldean Potentium
  • Wealth: Medium; her salary is about average.
  • Notable Possessions: N/A
  • Skills: Persis is a Chaldean Mystic, meaning that she has not severed herself from the Force, but has nonetheless vowed to use the Force only sparingly and to not partake of any training beyond that offered by the Chaldeans. Apart from her visions, which she has limited control over, she can sever other people's connection from the Force, albeit with days or weeks of preparation required beforehand, and generally only if the subject is willing.
  • Personality: Persis is kind and warm, and quite likeable. The darker, creepier aspects of her personality come from the doom-and-gloom of her prophecies, the tragedy of her past, and her abilities. People on Chaldea react to her with a mixture of awe and fear, knowing that not only does she still have the Force, but perhaps one day she will be the one who cuts them off from the cosmic web.
COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Weapon of Choice: The Force
  • Combat Function: That said, she has no formal training in using the Force the way the Jedi or the Sith do. Her abilities are not combat-based. At the most, she might be able to enact a form of Force suppression upon an attacker, but this is only an illusion. In combat, expect her to be reliant on others for protection.
Strengths:
  • Seeress: Persis receives visions from the Force which reveal future occurrences as well as significant events occurring elsewhere.
  • Chaldean Mystic: Persis is still connected to the Force, with all the passive abilities associated with such.
Weaknesses:
  • Blind: Persis cannot see with her eyes, and therefore must perceive the world either through the Force or some other means such as sound or touch.
  • Potentiate: Persis has received little to no training in use of the Force. If placed in a combat situation against a Jedi, Sith, or other Force User, she would assuredly lose.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

“Ishani had liked Persis. She seemed like a good person. But she did such terrible things.” - Ishani Sibwarra
Not much is known about Persis' origins. She was born blind, but began having Force visions from a young age. As a child she was discovered working as a fortune teller on Zeltros by the previous Chaldean Academy headmaster, Corentin Renault. Renault took her with him back to Chaldea, where she lived as his ward and attended the Academy. Tormented by what she saw in her visions, Persis wanted nothing more than to undergo the ritual which would sever her from the Force, and thereby end her suffering.

One of her fellow students at the Academy, Messala, fell in love with Persis. He was convinced that she should not undergo the ritual. He insisted that her visions were a gift which could help prevent catastrophe. Persis gradually came to agree with him. But their romance was ended when Messala joined the Children of Vergere, a terrorist group which bombed the Academy's west wing, an event which would spark the Chaldean Civil War.

Persis did not participate in the fighting, but she offered her aid to the Potentium as a seeress. It is believed that her visions revealed the strategies employed by the insurrectionists at the Battle of Nezamiyeh, the final major skirmish of the war. When the conflict ended, she was there to help pick up the pieces.

Now, Persis has spent many years at the Academy. She is an old friend of the current headmaster, Toloth Threepwood, and serves as an instructor. But she is best known to the students there as the one who silences the song of the Force in them forever.
