- Helmet: The helmet of the Paladin Variant Armor is equipped with an internalized version of the OS-129 "Delphi" Military Grade HUD and Scanner, which includes basic lifesign and energy scanning over a 75 meter radius, friend or foe HUD tagging system, nightvision and infrared vision as well as a standard-long comlink system amongst other features.
- Plug-in ports - The suit also sports six plug-in power ports (two on the wrists, four on the chest plate), that allow for the user to plug in additional aftermarket combat accessories in order to enhance some of the suit's already present abilities or create new ones.
- Camouflage System: The top portion of the duraplast plating has been coated with pigment changing micro-projectors, allowing the user to change their armor's color scheme to more closes match their surroundings. This provides a rough estimation of the colors of the backdrop and is not a true mirroring of the terrain around the user. This program can also be used to display preset unit markings and basic military type camouflage patterns.
- Resistant to Blaster and Kinetic Fire: The suit is highly resistant to incoming blaster and kinetic forms of attack.
- ION/EMP Resistance: The reinforced duraplast plating has been specially reinforced to be highly resistant to ION/EMP and other energy draining attacks
- Adaptive Camouflage: Using a coating of micro-pigmentation projectors, the user is able to change their armor's color scheme at will. They can use the suit's HUD scanner system to roughly adapt to the colors around them, or utilize a number of basic preset military camouflage designs.
- Maintenance Heavy: The Katarn Mk. II Paladin Variant armor utilizes advanced state-of-the-art combat technology. As such, it requires a high level of maintenance to work optimally. If maintenance is neglected, then the suit's various systems can quickly begin to malfunction to the point of being inoperable.
- Highly Susceptible to Sonic Damage: Unlike the regular Katarn Mk. II combat armor, this suit is not made up of sound dampening materials and is highly susceptible to sonic attacks.
- Heavy: Due to the use of armorweave and duraplast over the previous types of materials in the armor's construction, the suit is approximately twenty pounds heavier than it's predecessor.
Based on the standard issue "Katarn Mk. II" Combat Armor currently in use amongst many units within the Silver Jedi Concord, the Mk. II Paladin Variant Armor incorporates the same style, based on ancient Republic military standards. While the suits may look the same, they differ in a number of ways. First, the durasteel plating has been replaced by reinforced duraplast plates, giving the suits an increased resistance to lightsaber and ION/EMP attacks. Second, the HUD system has been upgraded to the OS-129 "Delphi" specifications, rather than the older OS-106 "Oracle" model. To make room for these upgrades, the sound dampening materials and generators available on the previous models have been removed.
