Once every three hundred years [Silver Jedi Order Dominion of Caluula]

Objective 4
Post 3/25

Trapped in a booth by the crude individual, Aster closed her eyes and let the Force flow through her body, ignoring any distractions and focused on the drink that had been set before her. Slowly, the drink trembled as it rose up until it was intercepted by the man.

"Force sensitive eh?" he took a swig from the mug. "You're going to make me good money," he grinned devilishly.

A sense of dread filled Aster as the man finished his sentence. "I'm leaving," she stood up.

"No, you're not," he overpowered her effortlessly, pushing her back into the seat.

"Help!" Aster yelled in hopes of drawing the attention of others in the cantina but it was to no avail and her cry for help seem to have fallen on deaf ears.

Everly who had sat herself a little more than a meter away tightened her grip on her drink and focused her attention on a nearby glass sending it hurling at the face of the man who was harassing her charge.

"Kark," he clasped his hands over his face as blood flowed between his fingers, staining his clothes.

"Aster," Everly yelled rushing towards the teenager and grabbed her hand, pulling her out of her seat, away from the man and out of the cantina.

Jairdain having never been on a real mission before accompanied Arisa Yune to attempt to find a resolution with natives of Caluula and Chazrach that still lived there. Diplomacy was what she wanted to do and decided this aspect of the operation would fit her best.

She wore her normal clothes and cloak, the new addition of a lightsaber at her hip, changed from the vibrosword she had arrived at the temple with the only change. Her hair was pulled back and she hoped she would make a good first impression on these folk.

"Master Yune, do you have any idea what the differences are between the natives and Chazrach? Any additional information I might have could help."

If things were hostile, then the calming presence of Jedi should help alleviate the tension. However, if they were already calm, then the level headed neutrality would come into play.

Adrenaline pumped through Aster's body as she was led out of the cantina by the stranger. Too scared to look back, she tightened her grip on the stranger's hand as the pair weaved through the crowd that had been drawn towards the cantina by the ensuing commotion.

Barely able to keep up with the stranger's pace, the disguised princess released her grip on the man's hand once the pair reached a secluded area. "Who...are...you?" she asked in between breaths.

"Everly," a familiar voice replied.

"Everly?" Aster glanced up at the stranger. "Really?" she frowned.

"Yes," Everly replied as she peeled off her facial prosthetics the proceeded to remove her wig and coat then untucked her shirt. "Let's get to the spaceport," she said, removing Aster's wig, revealing the blonde hair carefully pinned underneath it and discarded it with the coat, her own wig, and the facial prosthetics. "Act normal and don't look nervous," she said in a firm tone.

"O-ok," Aster nodded then unpinned her hair, her blond locks falling past her shoulders and trailed down the small of her back. "Should I take off my coat as well?" she asked.

"Good idea," Everly helped the teenager out of her coat and discarded it as well. "Let's go," she grabbed Aster's hand as the pair entered the main area of the space station.

Elisea had to say the design of the ship was pleasant enough, although her experience aboard starships was limited. Still, she tucked the book under her arm and continued her walk about. Arisa had invited her along and although she hadn't seen much of the woman lately, the Avalonian appreciated the invite. Eventually, she found the gym or so it was at least labelled as such. Walking in she made note of @Arisa Yune and another, rather a few others here and took a seat so she might appreciate the art before her. " Admittedly she had only seen some of what was being done on Monastery in small bits. And so she sat there relaxed in the gym, now with her book settled on her lap eyes watching those on the gymnasium floor practice. "Go Arisa!" She shouted with enthusiasm.

The pair engaged in casual conversation as they made their way towards the space station's spaceport.

"How is your training going at the Academy?" Everly asked.

"G-good," Aster replied finding it a little difficult to conceal her nervousness.

"Relax. Pretend you are talking to a friend," Everly whispered as they made their way through the hallway.

"Okay," Aster replied. Pretend you are talking to a friend - for the Baelor princess, that was something easier said than done. Her father's death and mother's subsequent suicide had caused her friends to distance themselves from her - not wanting to associate with the daughter of a mentally ill woman. And though life with the Iron Empire gave her a clean slate, her friend situation did not improve.

Busy either studying with her tutors or performing acts of charity, Aster did not have much time to make friends but even if she did, who would she befriend? The children of Chiss nobles with whom she had nothing in common? The members of the Wolfsglaive who protected her? One was an obligation and the other were only carrying out their duty under the Emperor's orders.

"Are there any good holoflicks coming out?" Aster asked with faked interest as she nodded as Everly spoke, pretending to be paying attention. "Ah, I see. Which one are do you think you're going to see?" With every second feeling like a hundred, she hoped that they would arrive at the spaceport soon.

With time to spare, Valae decided to explore the offerings of the space station. She joined the crowds of people walking the corridors and wandered a bit aimlessly, allowing the flow of people to move her along. Valae peeked into a few of the small shops that lined the way. The offerings were fairly standard, the necessities that folk needed. She didn’t find anything that caught her attention, but it was a good way to pass the time. Once she’d browsed enough, she moved on.

Eventually, the brunette made her way to the local cantina.

Seated at a table near the door, Valae now had a chilled glass in hand. She sipped the fizzy beverage with a content smile. She’d never been a fan of cantinas, but she had to admit that they were a great place to people watch. There were all sorts of colorful folk here to enjoy themselves. And she was feeling good about her vantage point near the exit, just in case any patrons got a bit too lively…

Aster's heart raced with each step she took. Each step towards the spaceport was a step towards escape, away from danger.

"Nearly there," Everly whispered quickly into Aster's ear to with the blonde-haired teenager responded with a brief nod of her head.

With the spaceport coming into view, Aster began to increase her pace only to be pulled back by Everly. "Not so quickly," the older woman whispered.

"Okay," Aster nodded and slowed down. "Are cantinas usually like that?" she asked referring to her brief experience.

"Cantinas are dangerous places where the uncouth gather," Everly replied. "It's best you avoid them in future."

"I see," Aster replied simply, making a note to avoid such boorish locations in future.

"We're forced to make these repairs, to clean up the ship from radiation; for the time being, this battlecruiser is going to be taken out of service. I doubt the Resurgent Empire is willing to throw even a squadron this deep behind enemy lines"

"Don't fret: they lost a significant portion, perhaps even the majority, of their naval forces on Dromund Kaas: they need some time to be able to get on the offensive again, lest they leave the remainder of the Caldera forces vulnerable"

"Julie, are you sure the Caluula station is large enough to house everyone?"

After what happened on Dromund Kaas, the SSV Tenchu, which back there was the flagship of Outsider Command and was also the victim of a surprise boarding attack, the Tenchu was ordered to be towed back to base for repairs, unlike the rest of Outsider Command, which was redeployed in neighboring worlds. With 1,500 dead crewmen or so, the But the sheer amount of radiation requires the whole content of the ship to be vented and cleaned up after venting, with its consumables replaced. Provided, of course, that there is enough space to evacuate the crew, that is, about 25,000 marines and perhaps the same number of crewmen proper that survived. That's 50,000 sentients right here. As the Tenchu made its slow approach towards the station, Jessica ponders whether the station will be able to tack on the equivalent of a medium-sized city's worth of sentients. The ship's air will need to be vented, and tender ships will be called in to perform the repairs, with escorts in tow.

"Open a channel to Caluula Station, priority one"

"Channel open" the communications officer acknowledged.

"Caluula Station, this is the SSV Tenchu, flagship of Outsider Command. We have an emergency: the Resurgent Empire launched a radiation attack on our ship in action on Dromund Kaas and we need repairs. Requesting permission to have the station house the survivors and to undertake repairs outside"

Aster breathed a sigh of relief as she and Everly arrived at the spaceport. "Now all we have to do is buy our tickets, wait for our ship, and return to Voss," she muttered wishing she hadn't tried to sneak off.

"If you had been watching me, why didn't you stop me before I entered the cantina?" she asked her bodyguard,

"You needed to make your own mistakes," Everly shrugged. "Had I stopped you, there might be a second time with no one to watch over you but after today, I doubt that will happen," she said, softly stroking Aster's hair. "You are a part of the imperial family, you cannot act so selfishly," she scolded the teenager as the joined the queue to buy tickets to return to Voss.

"I'm sorry-," Aster muttered.

"Don't be sorry, be careful. Think before you act," Everly frowned. "You do know I have to inform the Emperor about this incident?"

"I understand," Aster stared at the floor. She couldn't wait to return to Voss.

"Permission granted"

The Tenchu was slowly on its way to dock to the station, where the officials in charge of the station were scrambling to cater to the emergency caused by the action on Dromund Kaas. Outsider Command being just a reserve unit that survived, but the Tenchu paid the price of Jessica's mistakes and the damage they have wrought. By that RE boarding crew that fired radioactive ammunition. By her lack of experience in close-quarters battle. By her having to resort to dueling, which was her last line of defense. She promptly realizes that repairs on that scale would require several days or weeks and that the air will have to be vented, not to mention a tender under the form of a factory ship would be necessary to replenish the supplies and consumables. While the ship with the hole in the bow initiated the docking sequence, Jessica began to organize the repairs, while the main thing known is that radiation is lurking everywhere onboard and that the ship has to be vented as part of the repairs, and hence completely evacuated, with all systems powered down before venting could commence. By now, however, the crew has started entering the station's premises...

"Open a channel to the naval headquarters on Voss"

"Channel open"

"Navy headquarters, this is Outsider Command. The SSV Tenchu is forced to make an emergency stop on Caluula, we are requesting a factory ship to assist in repairs, over"

He would look out the shuttle as he traveled up into the station sighing thinking about his life and his past. Deep in thought he would't realize the man sitting next to him that began to start chatting him up. He droned him out until he couldn't take it anymore and glanced at the man. He would give a nice and easy stare but in the inside he was not quite as tranquil.

"...and my name is James T. Kirk, what's..."

"Sir can you please stop talking I'm trying to meditate until we get there."

The man would just kind of sit back down and shrug feeling like Karl was the one being the annoying and rude one. He would just sigh and focus on a star out in the far distance again and get lost in thought almost in a trance until the sudden lurching of the shuttle as it docked with the station gave him his clue to leave so he stood up and grabbed his bag until he saw the worried look among the people around him. They weren't at the station yet. This thought only was accented by the entering of several droids and a very ugly Trandosian.

Name is Eskimo until it gets changed to Karl J. Winters.

With the supplies coming in for repairing that battlecruiser that sustained boarding-induced damage, Jessica decided to just enter the space station while the battlecruiser was repaired in the distance. Because the rumors spread across the station that there was a Jedi Master in visit, the residents of the station were prompt to ask a favor or two from Jessica, whom some occupants readily recognized - in that corner of the galaxy, and, in fact, elsewhere in the galaxy, there were a few who seemed to be interested in Jedi (and/or Sith) as if they were celebrities in their own right, especially those who hold other high offices. And sometimes they actually are household names (the Heavenshields and the Zambranos come to mind on the light and dark sides respectively). Inevitably, when they meet their idols in person, such groupies will want them to show them use their Force-powers, especially the more numerous they are. The station's chief then approached Jessica:

"We are all anxious to see you, Master... Med-Beq?" the head of the station greeted her.

"Ah yes, Jedi business forced me to stop here for a few days"

"Rumors are that few people even saw the kind of Force-powers you can use in their lifetimes... if there are powers you can even show of that nature, that would be well-appreciated"

"Sure, the morale of the station's residents is important"

It seemed every occupant of Voss Temple was either orbiting or walking on Caluula. How they had all found themselves out here was a mystery to Kaden, though he also found himself in orbit. Turns out backwater ex-vong planets had good cantinas on their orbital stations.

That wasn't readily available knowledge, though. The Pureblood had to conduct sensitive field research to arrive at this conclusion.

Field research which consisted of entering the first establishment adorned in tacky holo-ads of half naked females, which happened to be 'Garray's Retreat', and drinking himself stupid. Why not, a little bit of RnR was important in everyone's life, including the life of a Silver Jedi Sith.

Frankly, Kaden didn't know what he was anymore. Except pretty drunk.

He set the tumblr down and asked for another shot of "Rancor Breath', a viscous liquid that was bright green and bubbled disconcertingly. It could probably burn a hole in the station's floor, given the chance.

Nearly every bar inside the station would be crowded due to the extra 50,000 occupants the Tenchu's emergency visit brought to the planet. While, of course, the transient crew members would usually have an idea of what the Jedi they serve under could actually do, especially in the wake of Dromund Kaas, they only heard about a small fraction of her skillset. Sure they are not always the most spectacular skills to have, or skills that were rather spectacular might be already done. She wouldn't want to waste her computational power doing Force-powers that aren't already shown to the rest of the population onboard unless they specifically requested it. Because a suit of laminanium armor is ungainly, she'd rather dress more elegantly and comfortably for just those sorts of occasions. After all, some residents readily recognized her even though she never visited the place before. Before the show begins, she asks for special requests for that freak show:

"Any special requests? Force-stasis, Force-light perhaps? Pyro/cryokinesis or Electric Judgment?"

He would look at the Trandosian and his droids and sigh softly and walk over to them. He would assess them as he stood before the large humanoid-reptilian and his droid companions. Karl didn't seem afraid or even worried as he stood in front of the larger creature. This shook the Trandosian and he just stared down at the man before him and gave out a nervous chuckle.

"What do you want? Tiny Huuuuuman...." The Trandosian would ask Karl looking down at him.

"I will give you two options, one leave the ship now and live to harass more people, or fight me and lose everything you have, possibly your life... I think you know the smart answer..." His voice would come out smooth and calm as he stared into the eyes of the Trandosian sizing him up and striking even more fear into the lizard that stood before him.

"Ha! You think... YOU can dare defeat me? You are silly human." The lizard spoke trying to sound confident but the nervousness broke through anyways and before Karl could respond he took the offensive and went to hit Karl over the head.

In the slightest movement a eruption of movement had occurred and the Trandosian laid crumpled on the floor. In Karl's vision it happened much slower then that. As the Trandosian was talking Karl could feel the intention shift and he drew on the force to use Force Speed, the world slowed down to a a fraction of a millisecond feeling like a minute giving him time to see the Trandosian's swing and draw his lightsaber and quickly cutting him down along with his droids. He looked at the people and went to the shuttles cockpit where the two pilots lay dead. He would sigh and begin to control the ship taking it the rest of the way to the station.

Accompanied by Everly, Aster boarded the starship relieved to finally leave the space station. Her experience there had not been a pleasant one so she was all too pleased to return to Voss and resume her studies at the academy there.

"The Emperor sent you to the Silver Jedi so that you can study, not mess around," Everly scolded her again in a manner similar to how an older sister might scold her younger sister. Though she was only the princess' sister as a cover, fiction and reality blurred at times like this. Having no family of her own, she had come to care for the teenager.

"I know," Aster replied as she took her seat in first class and her bodyguard beside her as the ship departed the spaceport to begin its journey.

The strange vision passed, and she was back in Norikura's gymnasium. Akiyama had just given her an explanation on why she had been interested in learning the ways of the Jedi. Much of her desire seemed to stem from a lack of control over her abilities. Arisa was reminded of her youth, where she was constantly plagued by realistic nightmares induced by the warped minds of drug addicts strung out on Glitterstim. Unable to control her telepathic abilities then, she unconsciously cut herself off from the Force for a time as a coping mechanism.

"Well then, you've come to the right place. Even if you don't wish to become a Jedi, we'll still be happy to provide you with the training that you need to control your abilities responsibly."

The life of a Jedi was a difficult one, so she never pushed anyone to take the path when offering instruction. Much like her old mentor, she dreamed of a galaxy where Force Sensitives and Non Force Sensitives could live harmoniously without division.

"You're one of dem Sith, ain't ya?" A gruff, male, voice inquired.

Swinging lazily on his bar seat, the pureblood turned to face the man. A face, laid barren by years of outdoor work on a hot planet, greeted him. It looked displeased, though that was hard to tell with the amount of wrinkles lining his features like stripes. Also hard to tell because, to Kaden, there were three faces.

All the Sith could stammer out was, "H-... How old... *burp* ... Are you?"

"Thirty-nine," was the reply.

The pureblood laughed quite heartily in the man's face. He was clearly surprised and rather amused. "Thirty niiine!" More laughter. "And, meee, I'm the Shith Emperor!"

"Your kind killed my daughter on Tattooine."

"M-... My condolenshes!"

This turned out to be the incorrect response. The man punched Kaden squarely in his ridged nose and sent him flying off the barstool with an 'Oomph!'. The Pureblood landed on his buttocks with a thud, somehow managing to remain in an upright seated position and with his drink still in hand -- unspilled.

A drop of blood oozed out of his nostril before the Sith issued his threat.
"I am... I am a Jedi! You shall... *hic* ... pay!"

"Force-light, force-stasis" the station chief responded.

"Force-light, Force-stasis, all right. If there are Drain Knowledge practitioners here, they are welcome to serve as my assistant here"

Back in the Galactic Games on Dosuun, Jessica complained that she was somehow used as a computer in the Force, but she realized that it was instead the sign that she was being used Drain Knowledge on when that occurred. Perhaps her immense memory was the main reason why she was often the target of Drain Knowledge practitioners, realizing that they are getting more out of her than they otherwise would at their level of skill. Also, here was the first time she could even contemplate using that idea she once had, especially since she knew for a while that her brain glowed in the Force proportionally to the amount of computational power she used, and also it glowed stronger (as a baseline) the more power she had. As visions began to flash in her mind, she could feel that the assistant was attempting to use Drain Knowledge on her to get some information about her Force-spellbook. That assistant's mind not being the fastest, the flow of information from her brain to the assistant's wasn't the fastest (the faster the flow of information from a person to another, the more computational power it eats up from both parties) and thus she still had plenty of computational power to go around. And then came the moment of truth: she began to make use of her light-side energy in such ways that her whole body began to glow like a Christmas tree and the Force-glow of her brain was also reaching its maximum in the process, that is, she used all her computational power, everyone in attendance saw a flash emanating from her, and the one using Drain Knowledge on her stopped. But the flash didn't last very long either, because there was only so much energy that she could project outward before the headaches could take her over.

"You keep referencing an entity known as computational power in your Force-spellbook: what exactly is computational power?" the assistant asked.

"Here computational power refers to one's mental processing power, one's ability to use complex Force-powers. It's kind of related to intellect but not the same"

Speaking of computational power, she had a lot of it, more than most Jedi she met in person, and she was also reminded by Sorel Crieff back in her padawan days that having more computational power is not the same as having a greater ability to use the Force. But there's some mental hysteresis; her mental cache is not that quick to empty, so once she had sufficient computational power to freeze the assistant in place, by way of freezing the assistant's cerebellum, she did so as the closure move of her end of the show.

Through
her neural link, Arisa received word that they had finally arrived to the Caluula system. Training and discussion would now come to an end as the original mission came back to the forefront of her mind. For her apprentices, there would be no better way to learn than through some OJT as opposed to a stuffy temple environment.

"Alright, everyone, we have arrived. I'm heading back to the CIC to check in with the locals for a sitrep, then we'll have a quick briefing before we head down to the surface. This is a delicate situation with the Chazrach, so I urge you all to exercise caution and restraint."

She sent the remotes back to storage, then collected the practice sabers to put up. Always a strong proponent of tidiness and proper hygiene, she was sure to disinfect the handles with alcohol wipes for the next user!

Gently, she began to shoo out Wu, Akiyama, and the rest from the gym, as it was finally time to go to work.
