Dominion Oil of Empires | EOTL Dominion of Iego

1024

The Empire of the Lost is now under the command of a mysterious Emperor and their Moff Council. Now seated on the capital planet of Lianna: The new emperor revealed their vision: To create a brand-new Empire of unrivaled efficiency, an Empire that is destined to dominate the Galaxy and will no longer be dragged down by the incompetent leadership of the old, bloated Empire. The emperor's first order of business is to revamp the Imperial Navy to the point where it will be largest, most powerful fleet in the Galaxy. Yet this ambitious plan requires Coaxium: The fuel that allows ships to jump into Hyperspace. The Empire of the Lost has shifted its attention towards Kessel Sector and are looking to dominate Coaxium rich planets all the way towards Kessel: The planet that its said to be rich of Coaxium and other valuable goods.

The first planet in the way is Iego: The Planet of Thousand Moons. The planet has gases that can be used for chemical warfare as well as plants used to cure rare diseases. They also have a massive Coaxium mine and are looking to open up to the other factions for trade. The emperor demands the Coaxium mine be secured for them. Iego will be the first planet to fall in their path to domination. Go forth soldiers and serve your Emperor!

Objective 1: Defensive Grid

LaserWeb-Defense-Station_FE.jpg

The clever fools on Iego constructed a LaserWeb Defense System preventing the planet from orbital bombardment. To make matters worse, there are resistance fighters using the asteroids for cover in order to conduct hit and run tactics onto the fleet. Destroy these nodes that are keeping the Defense System together and punch a hole so transports can cart reinforcements who are stuck on Iego. Also..... TAKE CARE OF THOSE FIGHTERS!

Objective 2: Fighting in the City

2c006848373fde035444c3ad9028c6d2.jpg

Cliffhold: The Spaceport city of Iego where Smugglers use it to transport Spice in and out of the planet. The good news is that the Clone and Stormtroopers have made landing in the entrance of the city. The bad news is that due to the planetary defenses, reinforcements are cut off and they are surrounded by angry locals, smugglers, bounty hunters, and everything in between. Fight your way into the city killing everything and everyone in your path. Assume everyone is hostile and give no quarter, the main goal is to secure the landing pads encircling Cliffhold effectively firing at the resistance from all angles.

Objective 3: Are you an Angel?
3c8dcc8be5a5e59877b55fb3538b01e1.jpg

The Diathim are defending the Coxaium mine with everything they've got. Any troopers who are outside of the fighting MUST take on the fight to these so called angels and secure the mine. ISB has reported that the Diathim may be trying to escape Iego with the Coaxium in tow as well, an ISB agents on ground try to sabotage the ships preventing them from lifting off. However, men and women of the Empire, be careful of the Diathim's flight capabilities and their hypnotic suggestion.

"Where the frack are the reinforcements?!"

Ami quickly looked up and saw yellow, jagged streaks that filled the pink sky. "Oh." Ami blinked while blaster bolts whizzed past her. "That fracking sucks!"

The mission was supposed to be easy: Secure the city while ISB makes sure that the Coaxium mine is under Imperial control. But as always, go tits up, the moment, the first wave of Storm and Clone troopers land, those yellow things in the sky lit up like a fracking Life Day tree effectively marooning them on Iego and are now at the mercy of the small but determined resistance fighters. Ami's regiment fought back but there were too many fighters armed with an assortment of Blaster Rifles and Slugthrowers inflicting multiple casualties.

"This is Corporal Luith!" Ami yelled into her intercom as her fellow Stormtroopers began to fall around her. Ami heard a crack as if someone was breaking an Egg and saw that Private Dak: A Stormtrooper Rifleman head was smoking. He crumpled to the floor revealing a large hole on his helmet. Ami raised her Disruptor Rifle spraying at the advancing fighters killing at least three of them before falling back with her surviving unit. "We're taking heavy fire south side from the North Space port! Is there anyone who can reinforce us?! Over!"

Continuing to fire, Ami retreated behind a large chunk of debris as the resistance fighters continued to rain down fire. "Frack me!" Ami said seeing how many of her unit was left. There was Nan, the medic who was tending to two wounded Stormtroopers: Biggs and Lanser. Erik was attempting to fire up on a Zabarak machine gunner who took refuge on top of a Space truck. "That'san unusual spot," Ami muttered but she had to focus. The Sergeant got lit up five seconds into the battle and somehow command fell to her.

"Is there anyone who can lend assistance!" Ami screamed into the mic. "We're about to be overrun!"

Objective 2: Fighting in the city
Mission: Sniper Support

"Easy does it trooper, just hold your ground a moment longer. I'm dialing in my scope now." A calm collected feminine voice came through the static of the radio. Then, a series of quick blaster shots broke through the chaos of the current battle. One after another enemies of the empire dropped like flies. It was easy to follow where the hellish red bolts were coming from, it was a large tower to the east of the troopers' current position.

"Sniper! Get to cover!" One of the rebels called out, before diving behind some rubble.

it wasn't much, dropping a few rebels with some well aimed blaster shots, but it did draw their attention. If nothing else it might give those troopers time to retreat. A few rebel squads were already changing their target to the deadly dame in the tower. They even rolled up a small speeder with a top mounted repeating blaster. Surely they had to be compensating for something now.

"Looks like I drew their ire pretty well. I'll relocate, sniper support offline for two minutes," A blaster bolt struck the window Ayana was next to just then. "Better make that three minutes."

Ayana sighed as she picked up her E-11 rifle, best to move quick. With rifle in tow she headed for the stairs to another level of the building. While she was running the building shook, some kind of explosive round had hit the building. These punks were serious about getting rid of her! That explosive development got Ayana's heart racing, things were getting just hot enough to be fun now!

With a massive hole now blown in her previous position, the rebels thought their sniper problem over. This would soon be dispelled however, as Ayana took up a new position two floors down. She would scope in her rifle and begin surveying the targets. There he was, one rebel with a man portable rocket launcher. Ayana zoomed in until he filled her scope, and with a single pull of the trigger another red bolt of plasma was in the air.

"I've got your back trooper, get yourself some place safe."

Empire of The Lost

"Give 'em hell Shockwave!"

The fighter squadron operated in a perfect formation, a perfect example of the Imperial might. To an onlooking figure, they would appear to be the most coordinated and serious fighter pilots in the fleet. It was only once you got to know the members of the squadron individually, learned their personalities, you realised they were a band of brothers and sisters bonded through battle.

Moving as one rigid unit, the fighter squadron moved towards the incoming resistance pilots whose sole mission was to ensure the laser protection grid protecting the planet did not fall. Moving as one rigid unit, the fighter squadron moved towards the incoming resistance pilots with no intentions of leaving a single survivor and no intentions of suffering a single loss.

Streaks of blaster fire were traded from both sides, ships on both sides moving at high speed in order to avoid being taken out by an enemy pilot. Neither side of the battle had any intention of losing, however their could only be one victor in war and the Imperial Navy had no intention of being the side to take the fall. The Imperial Navy would win their side of the battle no matter the cost.

Shockwave, nickname for the commanding officer of Alpha Squadron was heading up the moving fist of the Imperial Navy. Behind him, his band of merry men listened to his every order and executed percision shots like they were conducting target practice for fun. They'd worked together for long enough they were able to operate without much communication, allowing time for the jokes to seep in.

Behind the Imperial Fighters, the first capital ships of the fleet was beginning to fall out of hyperspace. The Imperial Navy was intending to show it's might in full force and force Iego to bend the knee. Whilst command of the Imperial Navy at large was left to those in their ivory towers, command of the ships in orbit of Iego was left to the commanding officers on scene.

The Vengence had taken up pride of place at the head of the fleet.

Luca Thayren, commanding officer of The 5th Imperial Fleet had taken up position on the bridge of his flagship. Behind The Vengence, more and more ships began to take up their positions as allocated by their commanding officer. Luca Thayren demanded perfection, especially in a live fire situation. Every Imperial loss prevented was a bonus.

"The fleet has arrived at the perfect time, Commander"

Thayren shot his eyes towards the Lieutenant on his left. The Lieutenant had kept his eyes fixed firmly on the planet and the battle ahead of him whilst speaking, attempting to ascertain and process the situation in real time. Luca had doubts at first about working with the Lieutenant, however he was coming to respect him more and more the more they worked together.

"Excellent. Ensure that a message is sent to those groundside. We should have their reinforcements to them within the hour. Let's waste no time in breaking through that laserweb defence system now shall we. Let's wrap this up with some haste"

There was a commotion as a junior officer raised from his post and shot off to complete the transmission. Luca was hoping that someone on the ground, even a basic infantryman would be able to recieve the transmission and pass it on to their commanding officers. Luca didnt know how long the Imperial Army had been trapped on the planet surface, but he had no intention of leaving them down there longer than they needed to be.

"Instruct our fighters to draw the resistance pilots away from the defensive grid. Once we have a clear opening, I want all bombers launched within thirty seconds and en-route to those projection nodes. The fighters retained should be instructed to escort the bombers to the defensive nodes. I want not a single bomber to be lost on this mission Lieutenant".

A nod followed from the Lieutenant, who began pressing some buttons on the control panel in front of him. Luca clasped his hands behind his back and turned back to watch the ongoing battle. Imperial pilots, with their higher levels of training and higher levels of experience were beginning to dance around the resistance pilots as if this was just some routine training mission.

"Lieutenant. Send a message to any other fleet commanders in route. If they are able to move their anti-fighter ships to the front of the formation, they should do so and assist our fighters with drawing the resistance craft out away from the planet and it's defensive grid. Any bombers they have on board can link up with Commander Oliester to prepare for the bombing run"

He wasn't quite sure why he had decided to run the show, but honestly he was in his element. He had a sense of calm about him, a certainty that the Imperial Regime would secure an important victory on this day and a certainty that he would begin to carve out his new legacy as one of the greater commanding officers of the Imperial Navy.

"Today will be an impressive day for the Imperial Regime. Show them no mercy".

Iego was a strange worldthat I have only encountered through reading holo reports on its obscure, but impactful, history as the Imperial Fleet made its way to the planet, as well as during the preparation stages of the invasion. The Emperor demands that we form a massive fleet, and take systems to gain the coaxium to support that fleet. Considering how even the Hutts saw the Empire as week, I for one of the Moffs, found that such a maneuver for the Empire was a good call to action.

The fifth fleet and mine, the third Imperial Fleet, would be the primary forces in the void battle. I had yet to fight alongside Commander Thayren, yet his record proved quite interesting material during the preparation phase of the invasion. While I was higher in rank as a Moff, that mattered little in the field of battle. The only use my higher rank had here was to ensure no foolishness took place among the Imperial forces in space. Otherwise, I was of sound mind to simply behave as another Admiral in the field.

Fighters sent out ahead of the fleet managed to stir the hive on Iego enough to make our exit from hyperspace into the system easier. All the while, the ships manned by the Iron Legion's naval presence pressed on alongside that of the fifth. All capital ships exited at once in a grand display of Imperial might. It appeared it was just in time to give the fighters a place of retreat if things went poorly in the defense grid. Ahead of our ships, I could see the laser grid plainly. The yellow glow of each beam capable of tearing any ship that passed through it apart was an impressive sight to behold. It certainly was worth investigating for replication at some capacity for Imperial usage after this battle, as long as the Emperor and the Council were of like mind.

The resistance ships seemed to be confined to just fighters and small corvettes on the other side of the field. It would prove to be their doom once their defense grid was neutralized. The petty scum of the galaxy would engage our ships soon though. All we could do in the joint fleets was send our smaller strike craft out to continue luring the resistance pilots into bombardment range.
"Star.", I coldly called for the ship's AI assistant. Beside me, a swirling light vortex ushered in the ethereal projection of the Queen AI of the ship. "What do you require of me, Moff DuPorcelen?"
"Scan the moon field ahead of us. See if there are any nexus points for the laser grid that we ought to focus our fire on."
"It will be done, Moff DuPorcelen.", Star said with her programmed hospitable tone.

The ships of the third's comms channels were alight with messages in High Nelvaani. While it may perplex our allies that would listen in passively, it certainly was going to perplex the enemy due to the language only being spoken in parts of the Unknown Regions, where the Eternal Empire once ruled. I would turn to the comms station on the bridge. "Comms, alert the rest of the fleet to start deploying strike craft to assist the fighters of the fifth. More forces will likely draw them out quicker if we have more bodies to shepherd the resistance scum."
"Alerting fleet vessels to prepare strike craft and deploy fighters!", the Comms Officer reported back

With my good arm, I pressed a button to patch me through to the Vengeance. "Vengeance, Requiem, the fifth Imperial fleet is ready to engage on the left flank of your vessels. I have fighters coming to assist yours in the field, and deployed scanners to look for any valuable nexus targets for when we begin the bombardment. What are your next movements?", I made sure to transmit in Basic to ensure the other Imperial forces understood the message properly. Until the fifth's plans were conveyed, I would then transmit to the third accordingly in High Nelvaani, "Requiem to fleet, proceed to defensive wedge formation. Prepare forward shields, and mass-drivers for any advance from the enemy."

Objective 1

"Moff Lecerson, we are about to exit hyperspace," an Officer presented themself to Ethen, saluting, "we've recieved a transmission. Local commanders at the battle are requesting anti-fighter ships move to the front of the formation and provide support to friendly fighter craft." This information was prudent, the Officer knew well to relay this specific information to Ethen, as this is pretty much what their fleet exercized in. "Good call, bringing this directly to me, Officer. Well?" Ethen turned to his Captain who was beside him on the bridge, "let's give our new allies what they want, Captain." The Captain grinned, "you heard our esteemed Moff, men! Prepare weapoms for anti-starfighter attacks and protect the fleet. Prepare to launch all fighters. As per Moff Lecersons previous orders, load the soldiers into the dropships. As soon as we get the all clear, we're sending reinforcements to the ground teams!" The Battlestations alarm sounded, as the lights on the bridge went dim, switching to red. "Thank you for keeping me for this mission, Moff Lecerson, I know I'm old, but I've so missed the excitement of battle your father commanded!" It was like old times for this geezer, he should certainly be retired now. But with his expertise, experience, and with our new alliance with the Empire of the Lost, Moff Lecerson actually requested him to delay his retirement.

After the negotiations with Nimian Totan Nimian Totan went well enough, he heard there was a call to action as soon as he agreed to join. Wasting no time, Ethen was excited to show his worth to the new Empire, perhaps this was even the opportunity to convince the Moffs and the Emperor that he should retain his Moff position. "Battlestation! Brace!" The Captain yelled as they soon quickly came out of hyperspace. Fashionably late to the party, the Empires new asset had arrived, "Quickly now, push to the front of the formation, defend the commanding ships! Relay a message to the commanding vessel of the battle that the Lecersen's Pride has arrived and will assume anti-fighter duties at the front of the formation. Shields to maximum! Launch fighters!" Before the Lecersen's Pride was even in formation, they launched their Automated Ties, Air Superiority Fighters, and the two Phantoms they had. The Sentinels would launch once they were in position, as they were actually support craft. They would eventually act as flak emplacements and support other vessels from fighters engaging them.

Meanwhile, the dropships full of TK Stomrtroopers, 10 in each of the 2 shuttles, were impatiently waiting. Cheering and rallying as their first battle to prove their worth to House Lecerson. They were part of the first round of reinforcements, although potentially not a first wave invasion force, they would assist in frontline missions and prepare FOBs for soldiers to replenish and re-arm.

Myri looked at the display of fighting in her goggles with a sigh. She looked up to the sky with an even deeper sigh. She shouldn’t be here. She could have been more helpful someplace else. Sure someone had to open the door for the initial troops to move into position, but why the frack did it have to be her? Now that the Imperial troops started to land, Myri figured she would high tail it out to help them get into the city.

The junior agent tried to fit into the panicked crowd as defending fighters rushed out towards the landing pads. Casually assessing the groups as they passed, Myri gave a smile and tripped the last member in a line of armed defenders. She dropped down on the man’s windpipe with an expertly placed knee and jabbed her vibroblade into his unprotected gut. He softly gurgled his last breath as Myri waited patiently. When he went limp Myri took his ancient blaster rifle and started to clean it up as she jogged towards the front line. The Imperials should be able to wipe the floor with these miscreants, but the natives had been smart enough to secure a good location to put up a defense with drastically outclassed forces.

When she finally made it to the back of the active fighting she was in range to pick up the Imperial comm chatter. She shook her head when Ami’s loud voice rang in her ears. ”That girl never does things the easy way does she?” Myri muttered to herself.

Wordlessly directing her HUD to narrow in on Ami’s position, Myri started to move into a position where she could lend support. Sure one of her superiors might scold her for not taking the most efficient path to aid the invasion, but Myri begrudgingly had to admit that she would miss Ami if she were gone. A second more calm voice came over the comm telling Ami help was coming. Shortly thereafter blaster shots rang out from several defenders went down, and the sniper reported she was going to reposition.

Myri took that time to make her way towards Ami’s position, but stopped in her tracks when she heard the rocket launch and ultimately detonate in the area the sniper had been. Myri raised her rifle and squeezed off a couple shots in the direction of the rocket’s origin, but she didn’t watch long enough to know the results. A few moments later a single shot rang out and Myri grinned knowing that the rocket threat had been eliminated and the sniper was still active.

The defenders were not as anxious to move out into the open with a sniper out there, so Myri took that as her cue to make a break to join the other Imperials. <<Nice shooting sniper support. I’ve got your front, Ami.>> Myri said her rifle up and her HUD marking friendlies. <<Friendly joining you from enemy lines,>> Myri announced as she started to open fire. <<Broadcasting position. I’d appreciate no friendly fire up my nose.>>

"Where the frack are the reinforcements?!"

Ivixa glanced up from her electro-scope as one of the stormtroopers shouted a question over the primary comm channel for the landing force. Even from her vantage point, the tiny sniper saw all too clearly that things had quickly turned south for the troopers who had been tasked with breaking through the entrance of the city. They had been quickly surrounded by all manner of rebels, armed locals, and mercenaries who at the moment maintained firepower superiority over the combined stormtrooper and clone trooper contingent.

Until now.

“Right here.” Ivixa whispered under her breath. On cue, the small-statured Asa’nyx fired her shatter rifle, at which point a large-caliber, supersonic slug punched straight through the engine block of a small speeder, which had been committed to taking out the other sniper in the field. A subsequent shot blew open the skull of the hapless rebel soldier who had been tasked with manning the vehicle’s top-mounted repeating blaster, causing a crimson mist to blossom within her scope as chunks of yellowish bone and gobbets of brain matter exploded outward. Only a second later, her next shot did the same to the Zabrak heavy gunner who had managed to inflict a number of casualties on the landing force, immediately sending those rebels around him into cover.

Now, she hoped that the stormtroopers and clone troopers would finally have a chance to force open a break in the rebel’s defensive lines.

“This is Rominaria Seven, standing by for additional sniper support.” Ivixa said over the primary channel. Right then, another shot struck out, lancing through the engine of the technical speeder truck that the Zabrak heavy gunner had taken position on top of. “Landing team, what are your mission objectives? I am prepared to assist in any capacity that I can, over.” The sniper asked.

About damn time, as soon as Ami gave the S.O.S, the calvary has arrived. They didn't arrive in a form of Stormtroopers but rather snipers placed in key locations in the spaceport which suited Ami just fine. The Stormtrooper had to admit, she was surprised to hear Myri over in the comms. Since she was IBS, Ami assumed that they operated in a different channel separate from the grunts. Good to know, that Myri is alive and kicking, she was her only friend throughout the Empire's expansion.

"Fracking good to hear your voice Buttercup!" Ami shouted a genuine smile forming on her face. Ami noticed the returning blaster fire had whittled away. Ami broke out of cover and sprayed a barrage of blaster bolts, ripping through multiple hostiles before finishing off her rapid fire with an ion blast. "MOVE!" Ami shouted to her four remaining regiment. Two Stormtroopers fired into the fray while the medic attempted to carry over the wounded.

"Hey guys!" Ami shouted continuing to lay suppressing fire. "We got wounded here and we're taking fire from all sides, it'll be nice for you guys to cover us while punch a hole through the defenses!"

The question was, where the frack could they go? While Ami continued to rain down blaster fire another voice spoke in the intercom. "This is Clone Commander Wyrm of the 26th Attack Battalion." The voice said. "I've received word that you need some assistance? There's a two-story building just southwest of your position. That's where my men and I are beginning our assault. If you can reach us, our boys can take care of any stragglers."

A Clone? Where the hell were they during the first assault? Ami always found the Clone Troopers to be weird. They operate and arrive on their own terms as if they're better than Stormtroopers or regular troopers for that matter. But Ami knew better than to bite the hand that's help her. "Roger that!" Ami muttered seeing a blaster bolt narrowly hitting her helmet. "Y'all hear that ladies?! Let's get to those Clones!"

The 26th Attack Battalion. It was a relief to know that they were nearby. In spite of the fact that they were essentially a throwback to the ancient Clone Wars, Ivixa knew that clone troopers were capable professionals. With them leading the way, the landing teams’ chances of securing the space port (and its landing pads) were that much higher. Nevertheless, their task was still a daunting one, especially given the disparity in firepower and numbers, factors which stood in favor of the rebels.

“I have you covered, Corporal.” Ivixa said over the team’s primary channel, in response to the stormtrooper’s request for covering fire. Right then, a large-caliber slug tore through the air and struck a soldier not too far ahead of Ami’s position with a distinct, shattering crack as the rebel’s skull was smashed open like an overripe melon. It was the first in a blistering sequence of shots as the tiny sniper snapped her crosshairs from one target to the next, giving each soldier a surgical shot to the chest or head with predictably gruesome results. By the time it was finished, four more rebels were dead, their mangled, broken bodies lying strewn about in various locations within the street.

“Repositioning now!” Ivixa called out. With that, the sniper picked up her rifle and climbed out of the window in front of her. Then, she grappled her way up onto the roof of the building. From there, she ran across the buildings from one rooftop to the next, her armor’s repulsors assisting in the endeavor. A couple minutes later, the two-story building from where the 26th was launching their assault came into view, at which point the Asa’nyx marked the location (and its associated coordinates) for the rest of the team to follow.

Delak looked at the onslaught of the Imperial Fleet shaking his head in disgust. In his 40 years of Smuggling on the Outer Rim territories, he had many run-ins with the Empire always looking through his freighter for any signs of contraband. They never found any since Delak hid pretty well but them Empire folks are always poking and prodding though his ship. He always suspected that the Empire knew that he was smuggling spice to the Imperial higher ups. They love getting high of that chit and were in constant contact with the Hutts. Delak felt that they needed to make things a little difficult for him so not to arouse suspicion but you think they would use their power and influence to give him a break.

He didn't like this new Empire, not one bit. At least the old Empire had the good sense to leave folk alone, but this Empire is hellbent on killing everyone in sight. Iego was their first planet to take over and now Delak at 60 years old is leading a cobbled up bunch of fighters and frieghters with his old yet reliable freighter: The Honeybun. It all happened so fast, one moment Iego was filled with peace and quiet. The next moment, all hell broke loose. Thankfully the defense grid managed to block out the Imperial ships though a large wave of Stormies managed to land. They should be out numbered and outgunned by the people of Iego. They may not be trained soldiers, but they got a ton of heart.

"Okay folks!" Delak shouted to the ragtag group of ships. "We may be out numbered and outgunned, but we sure as hell got brains! We go in, do as much damage as we can and retreat to the Asteroids."

He took a deep breath. "They'll be crazy enough to follow us eh?" Delak chuckled. "Take em down one at a time and keep the grid goin! I imagine they'll be trying to find the main generators for these things! Let's start with the Vegeance piloted by Luca Thayren Luca Thayren ! Let's go!"

The ships accelerated around the asteroids beginning to focus fire on the Star Destroyer. "FOR IEGO!" Delak shouted.

Objective III: Take the Mines

The Diathim, beings that radiated the hope of countless beings, felt fear for the first time. It was true that they were a dangerous foe, but they had no hope of resisting a full Imperial invasion. Iego was lost to them now, those who did not desperately fight the invaders were attempting to secure transport out of the system along with all the Coaxium they could fit on the transports they managed to scrape together. As fighting raged across the planet and in orbit, the ISB had not been idle in scouting potential points of interest for the coming Imperial administration. The Empire was expanding rapidly, and Coaxium would always be needed.

Imperial soldiers are capable enough, a match for those of the various other factions that sought galactic dominance. But against a threat that could twist their own mind against their comrades? Imperial high command wisely sent for more specialized aid when it came to assaulting the mines. This would be a brutal infantry assault, heavy armor or air support risked damaging the mines and the equipment on sight, so small arms were all that could be relied upon. The force would be a potent ally in the coming battle should the Empire desire a quick victory.

And so, a High Inquisitor is called to the battlefield.

Elidan made his way through the observation post overlooking the mining complex, a long bridge separating Imperial and Diathim lines. Already, Clone soldiers gathered and prepared their equipment for the coming assault. The High Inquisitor spoke to no one, heading directly for the main overlook, a cliff overlooking the future battleground. There stood one of the ISB handlers that had been assigned to Iego in preparation for an assault, now fully equipped with battle armor and a pair of Commando snipers setting up their weapons. The officer quickly became aware of the coming Inquisitor, standing at attention as Eldian approached.

"High Inquisitor, it is an honor. We are holding our positions until we can bring up more reinforcement, that damn bridge has already claimed three scouting parties. Two were lost to their defensive bunkers, another has been... charmed, they aren't responding to comms and seem to have been put to work by the defenders loading the transports."

Eldian was quiet for a time, taking in the sight of the ramshackle fortress, considering his options as he was to accomplish his object with as little damage to the mine as possible.

"We cannot wait for reinforcements. Prepare all squads for a frontal assault, if we hit them now will full force we will ensure that refugees will be caught in the crossfire. That is a weakness the Diathim process that we will exploit, as they tend to their friends and loved ones we will take from them the very hope they cling to."

The ISB officer was not shaken by the suggestion, he had seen and done things far worse for the sake of the Empire, his concerns were focused entirely on Imperial assets that would be lost in a direct frontal assault.

"Sir, it is likely we will lose half our forces, especially if they manage to turn our soldiers against us."

"Acceptable losses. But they will not turn, not if I lead them. I will show them that these angels are little more than sniveling cowards. They will see the Empire's power first hand."

"As you say, sir. I will ready the men, we need only a few minutes."

"See to it, Captain."

As the officer moved off to prepare his men, Eldian stood and watched from his vantage point as the mine's defenders continued to scramble, juggling the defense of the bridge with the evacuation of both civilians and the Coaxium. The Commando had set up their weapons, targeting any exposed Diathim, but there was some hesitation. Elidan appreciated the Clone's bloodlust as a useful tool, but there were a few that broke their mold and held... doubts. Not in the Empire, but in their own actions serving it.

Inquisitors were to snuff out such doubt, either with careful investigation or at the tip of a lightsaber. Neither was necessary here.

"Open fire, trooper. There are no civilians among those creatures, they would turn your own brothers against you given the chance."

After a moment, all hesitation seemed to dissipate.

"Yes Sir."

As the Inquisitor paced away, the distinct sound of a high-powered blaster rang out as the Imperial assault began.

There would be no survivors.

With another sniper in play, Ayana considered her options. She could stay in the tower for security sake, or she could go out and provide a little more close range assistance. Her head pulled her towards the former, but her heart to the latter. Today it was the heart that would win the day. She pulled out her grappling hook and fired a line to the closet building. She'd use this hook and line to safely swing herself down to ground level.

Her red leather jacket and lack of armor made her stand out heavily from the other boots on the ground. Some may bat an eye at the lack of armor, but Ayana has her reasons. The main one was vanity, she hated having her face covered, but she also viewed it as unnecessary. Most blasters could still hurt her even with the trooper armor. Better to die comfortably than wear one of those tin suits.

The forward position the troopers had carved out was still standing, that was good. She could finally put a face to the fiery voice on the radio. There should have been more troopers here, but all she found were a few wounded soldiers and a medic. "Damn, first wave got its teeth kicked in. Suppose this is why we're switching back to clones."

"Hey, troopers! I'm looking for an the one who called for help. I'm here to offer more direct assistance." She asked, still carrying the massive machine gun sized rifle on her back. It did look a little strange for some one of such a lithe build to tote such an enormous gun. Thank the force for those implants then.

It didn't take long for the spy to find her target, a relatively tiny trooper in nearly full kit leading the charge to cover the medic. That definitely had to be Amiggie. With the battle taking a short lull, what better time to make a new friend? Ayana walked her way over to the trooper leading the unit and decided to made herself known. She placed a hand on her hip and gave a sly smile to the lady stormtrooper.

"Quite the show you're putting on out here commander. Either you're very lucky, or you're one of the toughest troopers I've seen. Possibly both if you survived the whole first assault."

Empire of The Lost

Rebellions needed to be crushed.

The commanding officer of The Vengence hadn't quite realised how much he despised rebels. They all lacked training and order, things that he drilled into those who served under him. Rebels lacked dicipline and structure. They only cared about forcing those who they believed to be the enemy away from their planet and out of their system for good.

What they failed to realise is the Empire would be good for them. What those currently opposing the rebels failed to realise is that the Imperial Regime would offer them more stability and structure than they had ever had in their history. They would be governed appropriately, their military would be revamped into a branch of the Imperial Military and those who survived the atmospheric and space dog fights would be rewarded by being integrated into the Imperial Navy.

There was entirely nothing to lose for those on Iego, yet they resisted anyway.

The Third Imperial Fleet had arrived shortly after his own fleet had broken ground and they had begun to support the actions that the Fifth Imperial Fleet had already set into action. The commanding Moff of The Third Imperial Fleet outranked him, however she seemed content to leave the command to Luca. Not that he minded, of course. He was in his domain and he was going to have fun with it.

"Lieutenant. Open a communication channel with our honoured Moff"

Luca turned to his side and watched as his second in command gave a nod. The message from the Moff had been recieved loud and clear and Luca intended on providing a response. He wasn't willing to leave a Moff of the Imperial Regime waiting. The Lieutenant, who's name Luca still hadn't learned, began to mess with some buttons on a control panel in front of him.

A thumbs up from the Lieutenant followed shortly with a wave from their commanding officer. The bridge fell from the hustle and bustle that was caused by usual operations to absolute silence within seconds. It was almost as if people were too afraid to make a singular sound.

"Moff DuPorcelen, an honour to have you at our side. I appreciate your fighters being dispatched to join my own out there. Together, we can draw the fighter craft out into the open. The freighters should easily fall to our combined fire power soon after. Let's crush this pathetic excuse for a rebellion before they even have time to give themselves nicknames"

Somewhere in front of the view screen, a small ship exploded into an almost pretty orange fire ball. Luca couldn't tell if it was a friendly ship or a rebellion ship but he had to assume it was a ship belonging to the foe. Those belonging to the Imperial Navy wouldn't have been foolish enough to allow the enemy to get the drop on them in the way the exploded ship had done.

"Once we have an opening, I shall be lauching all bombers with a fighter escort. They will get one chance at taking out this intricate laser defence system. If it is possible that in the time we have until the bombers launch, your scans are able to detect all of the projection nodes, even better"

Commander Thayren let out a slight smile.

"Today, Iego becomes a part of the Empire. Today, we set about carving a legacy"

With a confident ending, Luca made a gesture and the call was terminated. Whilst he'd been talking with the Moff, a smaller ship had entered play on the side of the Imperials. They had transmitted all relevant codes, leaving Luca feeling at ease that they were most definitely friendly. This smaller ship had launched all fighters and was following Luca's orders to the dot, moving itself ready to engage with enemy fighters.

There was a shake on the bridge of the Vengence. Quick reports from someone sat at a control terminal towards the back of the room made it clear that the larger rebel frigates had set their sights and their targets towards The Vengence. It was obvious why, of course. The Vengence was one of, if not the biggest ship on the field of play and was clearly the flagship of the operation.

A second shake followed, as a second volley of shots attacked the shields of the Star Destroyer. Luca let out a snarl. He actually couldn't believe that the rebellion that they were facing would be brave enough to attack a Star Destroyer heads on. He had expected the frigates and freighters to cower in the asteroid field not charge dead ahead towards the show of Imperial might.

"Lieutenant. End them. Now. All batteries from ourselves and The Soverignty are to fire on that lead frigate. I want it blasted to non existance before it even gets close enough to do some real damage. The Luck and The Regency are to reposition in their own time. They can take up position at the front of the fleet and perhaps take some of these incoming rounds that are meant for us. Keep our fighters engaged with their own, draw their fighters out away from the laser defence system"

A slight smile slid back over the face of the commanding officer as the bridge shuck again, signalling that the flagship was taking yet another barage of fire from the incoming rebels.

"Leave no survivors"

Fleet Actions
The Vengence and The Soverignty have begun to fire all of their front facing weapons upon one of the freighters currently attacking it. The fighters that have been launched by all of the fleet (10 squadrons by the Vengence and Soverignty, 2 squadrons by the Harbringer and 1 squadron by the Luck and the Regency each as per their factory submissions) are moving to engage the fighters dispatched by the rebel opposition. These fighters are attempting to draw rebel fighters away from the planet and the laser defence grid out into open space.

The remaining squadrons from both the Vengence and Soverignty are made up of bombers (6 squadrons on the Vengence and 4 on the Soverignty) and fighters (3 on the Vengence and 5 on the Soverignty) which remain docked at this time, however are all crewed and ready to launch as required.

The Luck and the Regency are currently starting to manouver from the rear of the fleet to the front of the fleet. These are both High manouverability and speed, however they are having to navigate around the rest of the fleet and thus this will take some time.

Objective 1

Once the Lecerson Pride was finally in position, it launched its Sentinels, being prepared to move in any direction they were ordered to. All fighters moved to engage rebel fighters, and the Phantoms began targeting the defense web.

"Open a secondary channel to the Vengeance," Ethen wasn't of a considerable rank as of yet, his Moff title was part of House Lecerson, and he wasn't an Admiral or a Captain, so he decided to be respectful and not clog primary comms, "this is Ethen Lecerson, please inform the leader of the fleet the Raider-class Corvette Lecerson Pride is fully committed to the engagement in the Empires side. I request forgiveness for not immediately sending a communique, I was too focused on following orders to provide anti-starfighter defense, protecting the fleet. I am sending two TIE Sentinels to act as laser flak against starfighters as defense for the Vengeance, and any Lieutenant Commander rank or higher in charge of the defense of Vengeance may coordinate with them and order them as necessary. I voluntarily see the commander of Vengeance as my Superior."

Ethen had genuinely only officially joined hours ago, but the IFF and Authorization codes were given to him by Admiral Nimian Totan, so they were legit.

The Diathim and Maelibi were quandaries that needed to be resolved before the Empire of the Lost could truly take control of Iego and Millius Prime. Their shared ability to inflict hypnotic suggestion on the minds of the ungifted was a potent weapon against the legions of clone and stormtroopers that made up the Empire’s armies. Capable professionals though they were, both classes of soldier had little defense against hypnosis. Once a suggestion was brought onto a mind, it could impose itself over the victim’s consciousness to such a suffocating extent that they could be compelled into senselessness or otherwise directed to perform actions that they would have otherwise resisted.

Such actions could range the gamut from simple menial labor—which one of the scouting parties had been drawn into—to outright suicide.

For that, House Io had been called to assist, with promises of a share of the coaxium in return. House Io’s Nuetralizers had proven a dangerous foe against the New Imperial Order during the Third Imperial Civil War. Now, some years after that war, Nuetralizers would fight on the side of the Imperials, their synthetic, droid nature providing a potent counter to the hypnotic capabilities of the Diathim and the Maelibi.

For her part, Alessandra had arrived to assist in much the same capacity. Like her mechanical brothers, The Chaplain Nuetralizer was effectively immune to hypnotic suggestion. However, in line with the intention of her design, Alessandra intended to position herself to challenge the hypnotists directly. Distracted with fighting her, she hoped that the hypnotic beings would be unable to influence the minds of the troopers, allowing them to fight with less fear of being compelled against their will.

“High Inquisitor,” Alessandra came up to the imposing, black cloaked-figure of the Inquisitor, her photoreceptors staring up at him as she did. “My brothers stand ready to launch the assault with your soldiers.” She continued. “However, with your permission, I would like to come with you, so that we might challenge the Diathim and the Maelibi together.” The Nuetralizer suggested. Given the Inquisitor’s Force-sensitivity, the Chaplain sensed that he might possess a measure of resistance against hypnosis as well.

This rabble was hardly much of a threat by the looks of it. I knew better than to merely write them off as such. While rebels were pathetic creatures, their innate weakness made them extremely crafty creatures. Every attempt at Imperial expansion has been met by creative resistance from the world. Iego was proving to be among the weakest outside of its laser field. It was certain the Empire would win here. From what projections intel provided on this invasion, the battle will come down to how costly the defense efforts will be for the Empire to overcome rather than if the Empire could overcome them.

Commander Thayren would reply in a way I found rather pleasing. His rhetoric showed a level of disdain for rebels I did. "Good.", I coldy replied, I will transmit the scanning results when it is complete. With my own stock of bombers, we can make the breach wide enough for the entire fleet present if we target the grid properly. When the time comes, the third will push up along the flank alongside your ships. I am certain the Empire will win this day. The question will seem to be how much damage the rebels can do in their futile effort." The commander would then gesture to end the call. I would nod and do similar in kind, where the call ended on both sides.

Fighters soon came out from the carriers while reports showed bombers being loaded and the respective crews prepping accordingly. All seemed to go to play with the third. Then a push of fighters started a trajectory to make a run for the Vengeance itself. The fifth began taking formation and focusing fire on the push. I would transmit to the fleet in High Nelvaani still, "All ships prepare for fighter runs on us next. Tighten your screens, and make sure all mass-drivers are targeting the field ahead for any advances from the enemy."
Our formation then drew closer, as ordered, where the fighters could only go above or below to breach unless they chose to fly through the narrow cracks in the formation. Thus, all open space around the fleet was left open for the larger ships' guns to open fire on any craft that dared advance. Star's vortex would appear beside my seat again. "I have completed the scans you requested, Moff DuPorcelen. What are your orders?"
"Thank you, Star. That will be all from you for now. Just ensure the Requiem's integrity so that the ship is running at peak efficiency. Report to me if any emergencies arise."
"I will do that, Moff DuPorcelen."

I looked at the terminal in front of me where the scan results were shown. In front of us there were several nodes that the grid reflected off of between the numerous moons and asteroids in the planet's orbit. However, four locations sprung out to be nexus points due to them having a higher energy reading than the other points of juncture. It was hard to say which ones would shut down which segments of the grid in front of, as well as how wide the breach will be. Comms! Transmit the coordinates for the nexus points in the defense grid to the Vengeance, and patch me through to Commander Thayren, immediately."
"Yes, Moff."

"Commander Thayren, the scans are complete. I have transmitted them to you for us to decide targets. There are four points, and it is currently unknown which segments they would breach, as well as how wide the breach will be. My fighters are in the void currently en route to the current engagement in the field. If we split our bomber squadrons between the targets, we could destroy all of them. If that cannot be afforded, our joint effort will have to gamble on destroying one or two."
It was then that more fighters came out of the field targeting my ships, it was not as focused as what was targeting the vengeance, and appeared more as a deterrent from providing reinforcement. The defensive formation paid off, as several volleys of mass-drivers blew apart many of the fighters as the screamed to our position. The attack soon fell apart where the thrid's deployed strike craft wiped out their retreat.

"My fleet is composed of carriers where I alone have the capacity to target two of the nodes effectively.", I would gesture to the holo projection of the field with two nodes my hand pointed to, These two lie just in front of my ships. Depending on your capacity, you could remove the other two, or have a focused attack on one. If the other vessel that has joined us has bomber capacity, they could target the fourth or provide reinforcement for your efforts." , I said gesturing to the last two nodes shown in the pojection and then to the corvette-sized vessel sending out fighters at the moment on the other side of the fifth's position from my fleet. "Has this vessel hailed you yet? I have not received any transmission from them. They do read as Imperial reinforcements. Can you confirm, Commander?"

While that transmission took place, the deployed fighters from my fleet swarmed into the void. It was in greater numbers, and rigid formation. Each were squadrons of four, in relation to having to navigate through the laser field, with there being approximately four of those squadrons being out. The rest of any deployed strike craft would be performing defensive measures for any additional rebel counterattacks on my position. Navigating through the grid of lasers made the high speed dogfights difficult for the squadrons, yet from where I stood at the bridge watching the holo presentation, they handled it well. Any minute the bombers would soon be sent though, and the true battle would begin.

The first attack run was successful and the best part was that Delak's squad didn't sustain any casaulties..... yet. Delak has been traveling around the Galaxy long enough to know that there was a high probability that the resistance fighters were going to get blown to smithereens. He got the sense that the others were aware as well. But another thing Delak learned was that in all his years of Smuggling, Iego was the first planet that he called home and if he was going to die defending Iego, then damn it, he'll be going out in a blaze of glory.

"Good job people!" Delak said. "Direct hits! Bombers get your asses over here and unleash them Ion bombs!"

1 squadron of Tau Devastator-series StarWing Bombers approached the vengeance and unleashed a volley of Ion bombs towards the Star Destroyer. "Get them shields erased!" Delak shouted. "As soon as the shields are down! All Freighters move in and inflict as much damage as you can!"

There was no way that the resistance could take on the Imperial fleet head on. Best to isolate a target and try to take it down while using the asteroids for cover. It was the only chance of defeating them. "Sir!" A pilot shouted on Delak's intercom. "We got Imperial reinforcements!"

"Damn it!" Delak growled. "Tell those engineers in the defense system to prepare those Turbolasers!"

There were multiple Turbolasers placed on Asteroids. They silently swiveled to Katherin DuPorcelen Katherin DuPorcelen fleet and began to fire.

More friendly sniper fire rang out, along with a voice that Myri recognized. Ivixa had been one of the first senior agents that Myri had trained under. She was an accomplished sniper who instilled in the junior agent that leaning too hard on a specialty wasn’t the way to make waves in the intelligence business. Myri smirked as the tone of the squirmish turned and the Imperials took charge of the area.

Ami stated that she had injured, but with cover they would be able to push through. It was slow going for Myri to get to Ami’s side. For all the grief that Myri gave Ami about doing mindless grunt work, it wasn’t something that just anyone could do well and Myri was beginning to realize that the more she fought at Ami’s side. <<Don’t call me Buttercup of comms!!!>> Myri growled at Ami’s greeting. But she didn’t have time to continue her wrath. Instead Myri continued to move forward eventually joining up with Ami and her squad just as Ivixa radioed that she was repositioning in order to support the stormtroopers next move.

As Myri approached Ami the clone troopers gave further report of where to continue their advance. Before Myri could get to her friend’s side she saw another figure addressing Ami. Myri smirked wondering what sort of colorful nickname this woman would get. ”She’s pretty damned tough for sure. But I think there’s a good amount of luck involved too. Seems the Corporal always gets an assignment close by ISB support.” Myri said as she walked up nodding to the woman she guessed was the first sniper ”I’m Junior Agent Butter…er…Dara. We should probably get moving forward before the rebels regroup.”

"Hustle people!" Ami growled at the remaining Stormtroopers while she fired blindly towards the enemies who formed up at the streets. Nan was lagging behind attempting to drag Biggs and Lanser prompting Erik to stop firing and carry Biggs over his shoulder. While it was nice for Erik to help, that meant one less gun in this maelstrom of blaster fire that Ami's unit was embroiled in. "At this point," Ami thought. "Can we really be called a unit?" Ami hoped that Buttercup and the snipers could kill enough people so they can reach the clones.

And speaking of them.....

Ahead of her, Ami saw what appeared to be a large group Stormtroopers sweeping up resistance near landing platform. No, not Stormtroopers......

7a36ce2c7878ee953bd3c90c33a79f4b57f0ffe5_00.jpg

Clone Troopers, they wore white armor similar to what Ami was wearing but they had orange stripes painted all over it. The Clones were also wielding what appeared to be DC class Blaster Rifles. "Come on!" Ami shouted heading to the Clone Troopers who were sweeping up the resistance with ruthless efficiency sustaining only minimal casualties in the process. "These guys are something else......" Ami thought. "They look human but the way they move with precision and purpose..... Holy hell, these clones are making us look bad!"

The multicolored Clone Commander spotted Ami heading his way and he signaled a portion of his men to fire on the resistance members harassing Ami's unit. The Clone Troopers raised their blaster rifles and in a split second, half of the resistance fell prompting the rest to retreat deep into the city. "Thanks!" Ami said to the Clone Commander hiding behind some rubble. The rest of Ami's unit followed her, with Erik placing Biggs on the wall so he could rest.

"Corporal Lutih," Wyrm said lowering his DC-15 blaster rifle. "Do you need medical attention?"

"Nah but they do," Ami saw a woman cladded in red approaching her. A machine as large she was small, and Ami thought the Clones were the weirdest people she saw today. "So, you're the one of the snipers, eh?" Ami said. "Good shooting Sunshine, we needed that after my unit got wrecked."

Wyrm ordered couple of Clone troopers to take the wounded to one of the Imperial Transports that they used to enter the battle. "Better look after them," Ami said to Nan and Erik. "I'll hold the fort with these guys." Ami's unit jumped into the Transport as it descended from the city.

"Hey Buttercup," Ami smiled. "I see you met Sunshine she was a better shot than you!"
