- Mine Name: N&Z Corvus Mining Expanse
- Material:
- Location: Corvus
- Affiliation: N&Z Umbrella Corporation , through its USMC division
- Size: Massive
- Population: Moderately Staffed
- Profit: Medium
- Accessibility: While it is open to regulated public tours, mainly for foreign dignitaries and interested corporate attachees, the mines are in essence strictly forbidden for the public to enter. This is due to first and foremost safety reasons, as there is quite a lot of heavy machinery and automated processes which when disturbed could lead to a lot of casualties when approached by unsuspecting and ignorant civilians. Secondly is the fact that while most mining operators and laborers have been given the necessary work gear and protective gear, civilians generally do not have these countermeassures, which may result in sickness, heavy metal poisoning etc...
- Description: The Mines are a multitude of large, deep concentric pits, each with a duracrete wall and overseeer towers located near the edges, but also an operative bridge spanning over the edge of each mine in order to have better oversight of not just the terrain and the laborers, but the mine itself as well. There are several collecting stations and resting barracks near the full depth of the mining pits and quarries. Heavy machinery, droid docking stations, maglev train systems and blasting ovens are spread accross the massive collection of mining pits and quarries, with a few large factories and office buildings erected on a centralized location in between the quarries and mining pits on an equal distance from most mining locations.
- Quarries and Mining pits: The quarries and mining pits are large open mining facilities littered with heavy machinery and droid docking stations, parts of each quarry is roofed to ensure safety from the weather conditions, which due to the heavy outpoor of gasses and fumes coming from the mines is greatly disturbed. The roofed parts have special filters and active airscrubbers in order to lower the impact of the mines and to improve the sustainability of a normally quite impactful industry.
- Droid Security Garrissons: Part of the company's Security services, the droid security garrissons are located near each quarry and mining pit to preserve the peace and to ensure safety for all workers, droids and security personel. With standard Ceres type droids handling the security and oversight.
- Blasting ovens and melting furnaces: located near the central offices, the blasting ovens and furnaces melt the ore into valuable metals, seperating slag from the pure metals which will then be processed for shipment. These ovens and furnaces are dominated by large smoke stacks of duracrete and hangars of durasteel surrounding massive duracrete buildings looking like building blocks.
- Central offices: From within the center of the concentrically sprawling minesites and quarries, the USMC oversees what is arguably its largest and most comprehensive mining operation in decades. The offices are built in the rather typical industrial style, where function is prioritized over form, with large, tall spires with minimal glasswork on the lower floors, yet with open, gleaming offices at the top, alluding to its base foundations being strong and sturdy enough to withstand shockwaves several times larger than a standard industrial accident would present in reality.
- Power plants and refineries: no mining operation or refining operation would work without the power to make it all operate smoothly, thus as such the mines are being powered by several of the N&Z's PF-FR modules, which grant the additional boon of acting as fuel refineries, which adds extra use to the transport hub.
- Transport Hub: The Transport hub is located a few miles outside of the actual mining zone, but is connected with the maglev train network and can land several small to medium sized freighters and tankers to transport containers with ore, fully refined metals or fuel to orbital superfreighters or tankers in order to move out the materials with efficiency.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
As result of the growth projections within the region around 902 ABY, the N&Z division USMC or United Seswenna Mining Company, had brought forth a plan to start the search for still resource rich mines within the expanding territory of The Imperial Confederation, deciding that at the time there were ample options, but eventually, the planet of Corvus showed to have had the biggest potential. It already had a properly functional infrastructure, with mines and quarries still only barely used due to the lack of proper investment. It was because of these parameters that the USMC got the go-ahead from the N&Z upper echelons, giving the division carte blache in regard to building up a massive mining and refining portfolio within the confederation's space. With this carte blanche, the USMC managed to bypass COMFIN and outmaneuvered COMECI in its bid to the mines on Corvus, having the officials stamp off on their control over the planet's bountiful resources.
In record time, the USMC brought the manpower and material over to Corvus in order to rebuild the old mines, setting up the foundations for new buildings at the center of a largely concentric industrial lay out in which all of the exploited mines would be located. In cooperation with the N&Z STS division, a maglev train system was set up in order to transport ores and metals from the quarries and mines to the furnaces and refineries and towards the transport hub which would be the exit and access point of all the minerals claimed or reclaimed within the industrial site.
With the minerals including lommite and doonium, it was quite clear that Corvus would become a vital part to the production of both durasteel and ersteel, not only to the TIC which at this point had governance over the planet in 903 ABY, but also the the N&Z itself, which with assets and locations dotted across the entire galaxy could always use additional mining operations to its costly import of these materials through other more expensive subcontractors in the field. By early 903 ABY though, the project was seeing completion and the operational success expected from any of the company's major endeavours under the auspices of
