OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Mourners
  • Affiliation: House Io
  • Classification: Melee Infantry
  • Description: Former parishioners of Chaplain Neutralizers who have been destroyed, the Mourners now serve as bodyguards to the artificial progeny of Laertia, and carry out orders at their behest. When not in disguise, they are usually distinguishable by their royal blue armor and preference for melee weapons.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
Strengths:
  • Masters of Melee: Mourners are exceptionally skilled melee fighters. They are trained in the use of many different types of blades and blunt weaponry, as well as a variety of martial arts. In close quarters combat, they are unsurpassed warriors.
  • Cybernetically Enhanced: The vast majority of Mourners modify their bodies using cybernetic enhancements, making themselves stronger, faster, and quickening their reflexes far past that of a normal human. More extreme cases may replace their limbs with weapons, coat their skeletons with durable metals, or insert implants into their brains.
  • Fanatic Devotion: Mourners are completely loyal to House Io. They guard the remaining Chaplain Neutralizers with a fervor bordering on religious devotion.
Weaknesses:
  • Ranged Combat: Simply put, Mourners are not meant for ranged combat. They are not trained to use guns. Do not expect them to shoot people. Expect them to stab them.
  • Merely Mortal: As an NFU unit in a faction which frequently butts heads against the Jedi and the Sith, Mourners are highly vulnerable to Force Users. Their cybernetic enhancements may at least give them a chance of survival against such opponents, but not necessarily a fighting chance.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Upon the death of Chaplain Neutralizer Lancelot Io, his parishioners lost their spiritual and community leader. Some of those grieving his destruction went on to become Mourners, devoting their lives to serving and safeguarding other Neutralizers, especially Chaplains. With the added death of Galahad Io, another Chaplain, and other Neutralizers, their numbers have increased dramatically.
