OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Romi Jade Romi Jade | Jakku Jedi Enclave
  • Affiliation: Jakku Jedi Enclave, Jedi Order.
  • Market Status: Closed
  • Model: Jedi Compass
  • Production: Limited
  • Material:

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Allows for instant long range communication between compasses.
  • Provides Astronavigational Data specifically to Jakku's hidden Enclave (Central Base)
  • Self Corrupts upon Dark Side detection.

STRENGTHS
  • It's previous version had a very important aspect that it allowed a Jedi to find the location of any non-Hidden Jedi Praxeum in the records of Peace; and additionally, finding the legendary Jedi Space Station for themselves. This modified version is attuned only to find the central hidden enclave (subterranean) within the Valley of the Eremite and no other location or structures on the campus i.e Jakku Enclave North
  • The contingency plan built in has carried over. A fail safe put into each Jedi Compass is the active ability to self corrupt, and destroy itself at the touch of a Dark Sider - or even the detection of the Force trying to manipulate it in any way. Since each has to be given a signature sensitive enough to 'bond' with its owner, should that ever be corrupted or pushed the device will enact its failsafe and wipe all information on it - until it returns to Jakku.
WEAKNESSES
  • Despite its fail safes, if a Jedi Compass is captured and corrupted there would be a massive breach in the security of the Enclave. It could easily lead to very dangerous instances of foreign aggressors having all the information they need to attack the Jedi Order in one of its hidden sanctums. This could/would also put the surviving Eremite population and their history at risk; the Jedi protect them and their surviving traditions via a treaty.
  • Romi Jade ended all continuous outgoing encoded messages as a safety precaution, and in its place left just a jumbled series of heavily encoded astromeridian etch symbols for those unaffiliated Jedi who lack direct access to an archival network and compass. If the wrong person were to crack/solve and figure out the coordinates...it would cause major security issues as they likely could manually piece it all together themselves.

DESCRIPTION
Jedi Master Wyatt Morga Wyatt Morga was the first to replicate and document the creation of the Jedi Star Compass similar to the instrument that Luke Skywalker used in his own era to find Ahch-To; The Jedi Compass was designed as the omni-tool for Jedi of every rank; with access to the entirety of Jedi Knowledge stored on the giant holocron that is Peace.

With Wyatt in mind, and having been to Peace by these means before, she sought out to create another method of security in light of very recent events that took place on the campus of the Enclave; she chose to evolve with the situation. The influx of members let her know the encoded messages she was sending out were working, however, she ended all continuous outgoing encoded messages due to the looming threat of a data breach. With the need for a more reliable security system on campus she created a watered down version of the original compass -- attuned strictly to the Jakku Hidden Enclave.

Once complete, they were dispatched to both NJO and SJC leadership, along with instructions.
